Mamata Banerjee seeks resolution to FTII impasse

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Chairperson Ms Mamata Banerjee today urged the Centre to “resolve the prevailing unrest situation” at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.
She asked the government to take the teachers and students into confidence.
Mamata Banerjee, who has been associated with student movements in the past, said that she always supports the genuine cause.
She added, “Political purpose should not stand in the way; institutions are above everything.”
