Jadavpur to Gariahat – It is Didi all the way

Trinamool Congress once again proved that when it comes to organising any public rally or meeting, it can throw a challenge to its opposition and in all perspective can well pull a huge number of people without indulging in any ‘strategy’. No tall claims but the simple reason is that unlike other ‘political’ parties the Trinamool Congress do not have to ‘fetch’ people from far and wide as the people in Bengal believes in West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee and her philosophy of Maa-Mati-Manush.
Recently, Kolkata experienced the ‘nostalgia’ which literary took shape of a ‘fiasco’ with lakhs of people taking to roads in reply to the call given by the Trinamool Congress and stand beside their leader Ms. Mamata Banerjee. The roads leading to Jadavpur in South Kolkata wore a festive look as the people started gathering near the venue since early afternoon. “It is just 2 pm and rally as you know will commence at 5 pm but crowd has already started pouring in just to show that they are with their favourite ‘Didi’, well, I feel this is the strength of our party”, opined a party worker. The roads leading to Jadavpur became chaotic due to huge crowds gathered on the roads giving the administration a tough time. “I have come from North Kolkata and wish many like me would come from all part of the city and stand beside our Didi who is trying hard to build an atmosphere in the state which was completely destroyed in 34-years”, said Kanai Chanda, a book seller in North Kolkata.
With the clock drawing close to five in the evening people were ready to welcome West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee whose presence in itself was enough to infuse the positivity into the masses waiting eagerly to have a glance of their ‘Didi’. Chief Minister who had just returned from her four-day-trip to North Bengal initially decided to walk with the masses as scheduled from Ganguli Bagan but on the request of her party members concerned over her security as the crowd on many instances became unruly and wanted to have a glimpse of their favourite ‘Didi’. “Well, the crowd is huge and that is actually what we expect when the call is given by none other than Ms. Mamata Banerjee, who rules the heart of the people in the state and it is because of her that we are here beating the heat”, said Somoresh Guin, a participant in the rally.
