Fuel price hike: Trinamool holds protests across Bengal, common people join in
Trinamool Congress organised protests over the hike in the price of petrol and diesel at different parts of the state on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that National President of Trinamool Youth Congress and MP, Abhishek Banerjee, had protested against the abnormal hike in the prices of petrol and diesel on Tuesday, at Gandhi statue in Kolkata.
On Thursday, Trinamool Congress workers held rallies at different places, protesting against the same. Common people also participated in the protest rallies held in different parts of the state. They demanded immediate intervention of the Centre to ensure a drop in the prices of petrol and diesel.
It may be recalled that it was Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was the first to raise her voice protesting against the hike in prices of petrol and diesel. She had tweeted stating that the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel would also lead to an increase in the prices of essential commodities.
