Drop in vegetable prices after repeated checking
After consecutive checking for three days, Enforcement Branch (EB) officials of Kolkata Police noticed a significant decrease in the prices of some vegetables.
According to EB officials, the shop owners were strictly warned not to demand price over the limit decided by the state government. If violation of the instruction is found, legal action will follow, they informed.
As per the plan, on Sunday EB officials visited 59 markets which they had visited earlier. During check, they found that the prices of onion, garlic, ginger and capsicum have decreased.
EB officials said the vigilance will continue.
