Cooch Behar benefitting massively from Trinamool Govt
The Trinamool Congress rule has had a decisive impact on the development of Cooch Behar district.
Chhitmahal enclaves: The State has allocated Rs 1,100 crore for their development. Land rights have been granted to them through the amending of the West Bengal Land Reforms (Amendment) Bill, 2018.
Health: Mother and Child Hub, 6 fair-price medicine centres, 4 fair-price diagnostic centres, free beds, 12 SNSUs, 4 SNCUs, 3 CCUs, 3 HDUs, 2 blood banks, skills lab, Waiting Hub set up. Cooch Behar Medical College in Cooch Behar town and 150-bed mental hospital in Tufanganj coming up
Schools: 344 schools and 2 model schools established, 61 schools upgraded
Scholarships: 2 lakh students under Kanyashree, more than 2.9 lakh students received Sikshashree
Higher education: Coochbehar Panchanan Barma University, 1 government engineering college, 1 government degree college, 3 ITIs, 1 polytechnic college built; 2 colleges upgraded; 1 ITI and 1 polytechnic college coming up
Kisan Mandi: 8 Kisan Mandis set up
Rural housing: 1.23 lakh people benefitted from rural housing schemes
Industry: 2 Industrial Growth Centres, 13 MSME clusters have come up; bank loans worth more than Rs 3,441 cr provided
Roads & bridges: 1,500 km of roads built/repaired/widened; work on 320 km going on; Joyee Setu over River Tista and Bhawaiya Setu over River Kaljani
Tourism: Eco-tourism projects centred on Bhogrampur Damdama Jheel (Mathabhanga-1 block), Rasikbil Mini Zoo, and on picnic spot and children’s park in Ambari; renovation and beautification of Banseswar Temple, Bairagi Dighi and Dangurui Temple
Samajik Suraksha Yojana: 2.92 lakh unorganised labourers enlisted
Karmatirtha: 19 Karmatirthas coming up
Mission Nirmal Bangla: 100% of ODF district – Nirmal Zilla
Sports: 85 multi-gyms and 15 mini indoor stadiums built; Cooch Behar Youth Hostel built; 30 sports coaching camps being set up; Cooch Behar Cup started
Law and order: Pundibari and Sahebganj Police Stations and Cooch Behar Women Police Station set up
