Come to Bengal, ride the growth: Mamata Banerjee to investors at The Hague
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today appealed to investors at The Hague to ‘come to Bengal, ride the growth’. She was speaking at the ‘Opportunities in Bengal’ forum.
In her speech, the Chief Minister said, “Bengal is the human capital as well as the cultural capital of the world. Bengal believes in sustainable development in every sphere. Bengal is improving a lot after 34 years of a legacy. In six years we are plus, plus and plus.”
“We have enough potential for investment in MSME sector, agriculture, horticulture. We have a land bank, a land map and a transparent land-use policy. We have accountability and transparency,” she added.
She gave comparative figures from FY 2015-16 to substantiate her point. She said:
- In FY 2015-16, Bengal’s GVA growth was 12.02% while that of India was 7.3%
- In FY 2015-16, Bengal’s growth in agriculture sector was 5.55% while that of India was 1.1%
- In FY 2015-16, India’s industrial growth was 7.3% and that of Bengal was 10.59%
- In FY 2015-16, growth in service sector in India was 9.2% and that of Bengal was 13.99%
The CM also said: “Bengal has enough scope and opportunities. The talent in Bengal is the best in the world. We will provide all infrastructure and support possible. Bengal is the gateway of north-eastern States, Bangladesh, Bhutan as well as Nepal. The second largest Financial Hub in India is in Bengal.”
She concluded saying she hoped to meet those present at today’s meet at the next Bengal Global Business Summit.
নেদারল্যান্ডের বিনিয়োগকারীদের বাংলায় লগ্নি করতে আহ্বান জানালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী
রাষ্ট্রসংঘের কনভেনশনে যোগ দিতে নেদারল্যান্ডে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তার আগে আজ তিনি সেই দেশের শিল্পপতিদের সাথে এক বৈঠক করেন দ্য হেগ শহরে।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তার বক্তব্যে তুলে ধরেন গত ৬ বছরে বাংলার সাফল্যের কাহিনী। তিনি আহ্বান জানান শিল্পপতিদের বাংলায় লগ্নি করতে। তিনি বলেন ৩৪ বছরের দীর্ঘ ‘লেগাসি’ ঘুচিয়ে বাংলা এখন এগিয়ে চলেছে।
“বাংলায় অনেক সম্ভাবনা আছে। ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্প থেকে শুরু করে কৃষি ক্ষেত্র – সবেতেই বাংলা এগিয়ে। আমাদের ল্যান্ড ম্যাপ আছে, ল্যান্ড ব্যাঙ্ক আছে, ল্যান্ড পলিসিও আছে। আমাদের সরকার দায়িত্বশীল এবং আমাদের বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা আছে।”
২০১৫-১৬ সালের তথ্য দিয়ে তিনি বাংলার প্রগতির ছবিটা তুলে ধরেন:
- জিভিএ বৃদ্ধি: বাংলা ১২.০২% ভারত ৭.৩%
- কৃষি বৃদ্ধির হার: বাংলা ৫.৫% ভারত ১.১%
- শিল্প বৃদ্ধির হার: বাংলা ১০.৫৯% ভারত ৭.৩%
- সার্ভিসেস বৃদ্ধির হার: বাংলা ১৩.৯৯% ভারত ৯.২%
তিনি আরও বলেন, “বাংলায় লগ্নির সম্ভাবনা প্রচুর। বাংলায় যা মেধা আছে তা তুলনাহীন। আমরা সবরকম সাহায্য ও পরিকাঠামো দিতে প্রস্তুত। বাংলা হল উত্তর-পূর্ব রাজ্যগুলি, বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল ও ভুটানের প্রবেশদ্বার। ভারতের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম ফিনান্সিয়াল হাবও রয়েছে বাংলাতেই।”
তিনি আশা রাখেন যে আগামী দিনে ২০১৮ সালের বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে নেদারল্যান্ডের বিনিয়োগকারীদের সাথে দেখা হবে।
