Bengal to get new colleges
At a press conference at Nabanna earlier today, West Bengal Industry Minister Mr. Partha Chatterjee announced the establishment of six new general degree colleges in the State. He said, “the present West Bengal Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee, has given special attention to education for all and technical education in the State. In alliance with this approach, the State Government has decided to set up six new general degree colleges in different districts of the State under the Higher Education Department. Out of the six new colleges, three will be in Nadia, one in Paschim Medinipur, one in Dakshin Dinajpur and one in Darjeeling.“
 
Moreover, the Industry Minister also announced that the state government has decided to nullify a rule promulgated during Left rule, to bring more accountability to governance. The minister informed that recently elected Gram Panchayat members who are also holding posts in government offices will be remunerated for anyone post, but their jobs will remain. Circular regarding the matter will be published soon. 
 
Lastly, he sent out Diwali and Chhat Puja greetings for all.
