Bengal Govt to regulate direct selling of products
The Bengal Government would shortly issue a notification to regulate the companies involved in direct selling of products, the State Consumer Affairs Minister said on the sidelines of a conference organised by FICCI-CASCADE (Committee Against Smuggling and Counterfeiting Activities Destroying the Economy) in Kolkata.
Certain definitive clauses would be added so that the consumers do not face any difficulty in buying these products. The clauses would be decided upon after thoroughly studying the direct selling companies’ product base and line of business.
The minister said that earlier direct selling was there but there were no regulations for the companies involved. Now that issue would be taken care of.
