Bengal Govt to come up with its first animation academy

For the first time in Bengal, a State Government-run animation academy will come up in July. The academy will come up in Sector V in Salt Lake, close to the Technopolis building. Admission applications are being requested online.
Webel, the agency responsible for technology development in Bengal, has collaborated with DQE, one of the largest animation production houses in the country, to set up the animation academy.
An MoU was signed between Webel and DQE at the Bengal Global Business Summit. Hence this is another fruitful outcome of the annual international business summit of the Bengal Government.
The Indian animation and visual effects industry is steadily growing and is poised to reach the level of the global behemoths of the animation industry. To support the humongous growth of this industry, high-quality trained manpower is required to deliver professional-quality work at par with global standards.
