Bengal no.1 in rural employment generation: Mamata Banerjee
Today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee put up a Facebook post, reiterating the fact that Bengal is number one in rural employment generation.
She quoted the latest Central Government data which has proved once again that Bengal is the best state in India with respect to rural employment.
Under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), better known as the 100 Days’ Work Scheme, as on March 31, 2018, Bengal has generated 30.98 crore person-days, which is the highest in the country.
Consequently, according to data available, Bengal has also reported the highest expenditure with respect to NREGA. Rs 8007.56 crore was spent on this scheme by the state during financial year 2017-18.
In terms of average person-days per household, Bengal, with 59 days during FY 2017-18, is the best performer among the major states.

গ্রামীণ কর্মসংস্থানে দেশের সেরা বাংলা
আজ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় টুইট করে জানান, গ্রামীণ কর্মসংস্থানে বাংলা প্রথম স্থান অধিকার করায় তিনি খুব খুশী।
তিনি বলেন, ৩১ মার্চ ২০১৮ পর্যন্ত ১০০ দিনের কাজে রাজ্য ৩০.৯৮ কোটি কর্মসংস্থান তৈরী করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে। এই প্রকল্পে ২০১৭-১৮ অর্থবর্ষে রাজ্য সরকার ৮০০৭.৫৬ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে, যা দেশের মধ্যে সর্বোচ্চ।
এছাড়াও, ২০১৭-১৮ সালে প্রতি পরিবার গড়ে ৫৯ দিন কাজ পেয়েছে, যা দেশের বড় রাজ্যগুলির মধ্যে সেরা।
প্রসঙ্গত, ২০১১ সালে ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই গ্রামীণ কর্মসংস্থান সৃষ্টির লক্ষ্যে উদ্যোগী হয়েছে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। শুধু দেশেই নয়, গ্রামীণ উন্নয়নের জন্য বিদেশেও সমাদৃত হয়েছে বাংলা।
