Mamata Banerjee’s Netherlands visit at a glance
On Friday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accepted the United Nations Public Service Award on behalf of the West Bengal Government. Kanyashree Scheme was adjudged the best in the category of Reaching the Poorest and Most Vulnerable through Inclusive Services and Participation. During the ceremony, the CM highlighted to the whole world, the achievements of the Bengal Government in the social sector.
This award is a very important award given by the United Nations. To win in its category, Kanyashree had to beat 552 other projects from 62 countries. More than 500 important delegates from around the world attended this programme.
Mamata Banerjee had reached the Netherlands on June 19. On June 21, the Bengal Government had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Royal Netherlands Football Association to facilitate exchange programmes for football players and coaches between that country and Bengal.
She joined the United National convention on June 21.
On June 23, the Chief Minister participated in a seminar attended by leading industrialists of the Netherlands. There, she highlighted the achievements the achievements of Bengal in various fields during the last six years and invited the Dutch to invest in Bengal.
She said, “Overcoming a 34-year legacy of negativity, Bengal is marching ahead. There are lot of opportunities in the state. From the MSME sector to agriculture – Bengal is now the leading state in India on various fronts. Our government is a responsible one and we have the goodwill to carry the state forward”.
She also attended a programme organised by ‘Probashi Bengalis’ of Netherlands.
একনজরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নেদারল্যান্ডস সফর
শুক্রবার দ্য হেগের ওয়ার্ল্ড অডিটোরিয়ামে ‘পাবলিক সার্ভিস ডে, ২০১৭’ অনুষ্ঠান উপলক্ষে রাষ্ট্রসংঘের মঞ্চে বক্তব্য রাখলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সারা বিশ্বের জনপ্রতিনিধিদের সামনে তুলে ধরলেন গত ছয় বছরে বাংলার প্রগিতর কথা। উঠে আসে কন্যাশ্রীর প্রসঙ্গ, খাদ্য সাথী ও সবুজ সাথির সাফল্যের কথা। পাশাপাশি ছিল অন্যান্য সামাজিক সুরক্ষা প্রকল্পের কথাও।
রাষ্ট্রপুঞ্জের এই সম্মান বাংলার কাছে অন্যতম। দেশের অন্য কোনও মুখ্যমন্ত্রী যা আগে পাননি। গোটা পৃথিবী থেকে প্রায় ৫০০ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যাক্তি এই অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দেন।
গত ১৯ জুন নেদারল্যান্ডস পৌঁছোন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। ২০ জুন নেদারল্যান্ডস রয়্যাল অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সঙ্গে একটি মউ স্বাক্ষর করে রাজ্য সরকার।
২১ জুন রাষ্ট্রসংঘের কনভেনশনে যোগ দিতে নেদারল্যান্ডে যান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। ২৩জুন সেই দেশের শিল্পপতিদের সাথে এক বৈঠক করেন দ্য হেগ শহরে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তার বক্তব্যে তুলে ধরেন গত ৬ বছরে বাংলার সাফল্যের কাহিনী। তিনি আহ্বান জানান শিল্পপতিদের বাংলায় লগ্নি করতে।
তিনি বার্তা দেন, “৩৪ বছরের দীর্ঘ ‘লেগাসি’ ঘুচিয়ে বাংলা এখন এগিয়ে চলেছে। বাংলায় অনেক সম্ভাবনা আছে। ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্প থেকে শুরু করে কৃষি ক্ষেত্র – সবেতেই বাংলা এগিয়ে। আমাদের সরকার দায়িত্বশীল এবং আমাদের বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা আছে।”
এছাড়াও প্রবাসী বাঙালিদের এক অনুষ্ঠানেও অংশগ্রহণ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
