Lok Sabha MP Pratima Mondal’s Zero Hour mention on the urgent issue of the Union government’s reduced and delayed release of funds to Bengal under the Jal Jeevan Mission

Sir, on behalf of my Party, All India Trinamool Congress and on behalf of my living God, the people of my constituency, I wish to raise an urgent issue of the Central Government & apos;s reduction and delayed release of funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission to West Bengal. The State has consistently met utilization norms and fulfilled required reforms, yet allocations for the current year have been sharply curtailed, disrupting ongoing drinking water projects. This sudden cut has stalled pipeline work, delayed new connections, and affected payments to implementing agencies. Districts facing water scarcity, including Sundarbans, and arsenic contamination are particularly impacted, putting lakhs of rural households at risk and threatening progress made under the Mission.महोदय, िल का एक और नाम िीवन है। यह सरकार उस िीवन को छीननेका प्रयास कर रही है। वर्ट2026 मंइसकी हालत और भी बरी हो िाएगी। Sir, I urge upon the Central Government to restore full funding and ensure timely disbursal, so that Jal Jeevan Mission objectives are achieved and rural communities do not suffer due to financial constraints.
