Lok Sabha MP Sajda Ahmed’s Zero Hour mention on the difficulties in uploading waqf details on the Umeed Central Portal
I wish to draw the attention of the Government to the urgent concern regarding the ongoing difficulties in uploading Waqf properties on the UMEED portal across the country. As per the Schedule, all Waqf Boards and Mutawallis must complete uploading by 5th December, 2025. However, multiple States report that only a small percentage of properties have been uploaded due to serious technical and practical hurdles. In several regions, the portal faces frequent glitches, missing data fields, slow processing, and repeated crashes. Many Mutawallis, especially in rural areas, struggle with lack of manpower, digital literacy and incomplete historical records, making the process extremely time-consuming. If the deadline is not extended, thousands of genuine Waqf properties may remain unregistered, leading to future disputes
