CM felicitates the stalwarts of Bengali music, inaugurates Bangla Sangeet Mela
Eighteen artistes were felicitated by West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee today at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on the occasion of inauguration of 'Bangla Sangeet Mela 2012.' The artistes were awarded in two different categories; Maha Sangeet Samman and Sangeet Samman. The Maha Sangeet Samman was given to Firoza Begum, Girija Debi, Sandhya Mukherjee, Dwijen Mukherjee, Amar Pal, Subir Sen, Sumitra Sen and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. The Sangeet Samman was awarded to Nirmala Mishra, Arati Mukherjee, Bonosri Sengupta, Ustaad Rashid Khan, Purnadas Baul, Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Srikanta Acharya, Nachiketa Chakraborty, Mansur Fakir and Kumar Subba. The event will be held from April 13 to April 21 across different venues in the city.
