Trinamool Congress Women`s wing gear up for Panchayat polls

The Maa, Mati Manush Government led by Mamata Banerjee, notwithstanding the huge financial burden as well as the continuous baseless criticism has taken stride after stride to develop the state to an unforeseen height.
While the Govt. is taking administrative measures to carry out welfare for women, the organizational wings of the Trinamool Congress is also active in carrying out works in different levels to aid the women of the state.
The party's women's cell has formed various teams at the block-level across West Bengal and will be canvassing for Trinamool candidates in the panchayat elections`, Chandrima Bhattacharya, Mahila Trinamool Congress State President, said describing the endeavour. `We have handpicked five women from each polling booth area and will use them in the campaign in the respective areas,`  Ms.Bhattacharya added.
The representatives will take to the campaign trail with the aim of informing village women about government initiatives directed at their welfare.
Trinamool Congrss has coined a slogan to drive home the message, Ms. Bhattacharya said: `Rajya sarkarer ekush maas, Banglar meyeder sastir shes (the first 21 months of the government and a sigh of relief for women in Bengal).`
`They will point out that the state government has set up 10 police stations manned by women across West Bengal and a court exclusively for them in the Malda district,` she explained. `The government also plans to launch one exclusively-for-women police station in each of the state's 65 sub-divisions,` she added.
The party has published a booklet named Madhur Bhuban (sweet world), a title derived from Tagore's poem Mukti (freedom), listing its initiatives for women's welfare.
This booklet, coupled with another published in September last year – titled Nahi Samanya Nari (We're not ordinary women) drawing inspiration from Tagore's play Chitrangada – will be circulated among village women.
