Centre cannot decide the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) Bill without consulting the affected States
Trinamool Congress MPs at the Rajya Sabha prevented the introduction of the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) bill with Bangladesh on Monday, asserting the Centre could not take the decision without the consent of the State Governments. 
AITC Chief Whip at Rajya Sabha Derek O`Brien protested prior to the External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid table the legislation. Derek O`Brien laid blame on the Centre for not consulting the affected States. He said not only should they be consulted but their consent should also be taken on the bill. “They (the Congress-led UPA) assumed Trinamool Congress will not oppose, “ Derek O`Brien said later.
External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid have spoken to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over phone and is expected to meet the Trinamool Congress leaders on this issue.
