Seven new super-speciality hospitals coming up in West Bengal

Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee had promised the people of rural Bengal that her government will provide better health services. Keeping her word, the state government has begun the process of setting up 7 new super-speciality hospitals in various districts across the state.

McNally Bharat Engineering Co Ltd is building three super-speciality hospitals in two districts at a cost of Rs. 118.59 crore. The West Bengal government is setting up these hospitals under the Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) at Debra and Salboni in West Midnapore district and Nandigram in East Midnapore district.

Four more super-speciality hospital projects have been taken up in three other districts. These projects will also be financed through BRGF. These four projects will come up at Metiabruz and Kakdwip in South 24 Parganas district, Sagardighi in Murshidabad district and Bolpur in Birbhum district; they will be constructed by Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners, the State implementing agency.
