Uphold the democratic spirit of the House, Saugata Roy appeals to Speaker

Sir, before moving the amendment, I want to ask only one question. The Opposition moved 60 amendments. None of them had any merit, for the government to adopt them? Not one of them? Let them display the democratic spirit.
We move the amendment and then the decision goes in favour of those who say ‘No’. The amendment is negated. Some amendments ought to be accepted, in the spirit of democracy.
Sir, allow me to move the amendment. Let the spirit of democracy be alive. No matter who is in the Opposition, their voice must be heard. Have some respect for democracy. The government must at least try.
