Denial of NOC for China visit – Satabdi Roy seeks Speaker’s intervention

Thank you, Sir. I had to attend a film festival in China. It was a professional commitment and had no link whatsoever to politics. But the Visa office said I needed an NOC from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs.
Sir, it would take me at least 10 Zero Hour submissions to put across the harassment I underwent for the same. I would not go there. Sir, even after I got a Visa, the MEA declined the NOC, without reason. I want to know the reason for the same. Why was it declined? When I called up the MEA, they could not give any reason.
Sir, I want you to intervene in this matter. I have become an MP, and so I cannot go outside the country? How can this be possible? The biggest point is, on the same day, our respected, hon’ble Prime Minister was having photo-ops in a dhoti with the Chinese Premier.
