Saugata Roy raises the issue of detention of Farooq Abdullah in Lok Sabha

I have given an adjournment motion today on the continued detention of Dr Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, former Union Minister and presently a Lok Sabha Member.
Dr Farooq Abdullah is 83 years old and he has been kept in preventive detention since August 5. The government has cited no reason, except that he was detained under Public Safety Act along with his son and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, also a former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sir, Dr Farooq Abdullah has always taken a stand for integration of Jammu and Kashmir—Sir, ek minute, thora to dhiraj rakhiye, ek aadmi tin mahine se jail me hain, app thora Sir dhiraj nahi rakh sakte hain? Thoda dhiraj apse chahiye. Main chahta hoon ke –either aap government ko instruct kare ki abhi abhi Dr Farooq Abdullah ko riha kiya jaye, nahin to aap Home Minister ko bulaiye, woh statement de Dr Farooq Abdullah ke detention ke bare mein.
Yeh bara charcha ka baat nahin hain, Kashmir ek pura jail ban gaya hain, Sir, main yeh sab nahi uthana chahta hoon. Europe se koi Madi Sharma 22 MPs ko le aaye, MPs from right-wing parties in Europe. Humare Hindutan ke MPs nahi ja pa rahe hain. Is par sawaal nahi uthte hain, Sir.
