Sudip Bandyopadhyay raises a demand for allowing discussion on The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019 in Lok Sabha

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Sir, what  I feel is that if we could have received a message from the Government, then the situation would have been different. Kashmir is a burning topic because what we are finding is that there is a ban on the movement of the people. Sir, when we hear that people like Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are under house arrest, naturally we become perturbed.

We are all for the unity of the country, we are all for the nation, we stand by Kashmir and Kashmir’s security and safety. But, Sir, please get the Government to Prime Minister to make a statement on such a burning issue. Parliament should not be taken as granted, that whether we allow something or not, it does not matter. Parliament actually matters Sir. We are ready to save Article 370 with the last drop of our blood. We want the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Bill, which is yet to be brought, to be discussed in detail. We do not support this Bill.
