Lekin Najeeb ke mudde pe JNU mein jo ho raha hai woh sarahaniya nahin hai. Warden ke report ke mutabik ye ghatna ghati 14 October 2016 ko, jis mein Najeeb aur kuch chatron shamil the. Woh chatro kissi rajnaitik dal se sambandh rakhte the, main uska naam nahi lena chahta hoon, aur waha ek jhamela hua.

Sir, wahan students, security guards, warden-in-charge, sab ne isko dekha aur iska report di gayi. Magar ashcharya ki baat ye hai ki Vice-Chancellor se le kar jo bhi adhikarik is university ke hai, kissi ne bhi is par koi action nahi liya. FIR bhi darj karne ke liye ladke ka Maa ko jana pada.

Kya hum Najeeb ko sirf ek gumshuda statistics banne denge? Main kendriya sarkar se janna chahunga, aapke madhyam se, ki Najeeb ko khojne ke liye kya koi special prayas ki gayi hai? Ya ki woh sirf ek absent student jaise reh jaye ga? Jabki yeh clear cut political vendetta ka case hai aur hum dekh rahe hain ki kis tarha desh mein political vendetta cancer ki tarha fail rahi hai.

Agar sarkar mein koi hai toh unki toh prayas ye hona chahiye ki Najeeb ko kaise jald se jald khoja jaye, unke logon ke saath baat kiya jaye aur uski Maa ke sath baat kiya jaye. Ascharya ki baat ye hai ki Vice Chancellor ne uski Maa ke sath milne se mana kar diya hai. Sir, agar un mein samvedna nahi hain, woh to kendriya sarkar jaga sakti hai.

Sir, mera aapke madhyam se yeh hi request hai ki sarkar is pe koi uchit enquiry karaye, pata toh lagaye ki Najeeb ke gumshuda hone ke peeche ye kya karan hai. Mazein ki baat ye hai ki jo Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is mein involved hai unse puchtach bhi nahi ki gayi. Agar unka koi special status hai toh ye bhi hum log ko batana chahiye.

Sir, ye political vendetta bada issue hote jaa raha hai. Main aapke madhyam se kendriya sarkar ke dhyan mein lata hoon ki ispe dhyaan dena chahiye, ispe uchit karvahi kiya jaye aur uchit statement diya jaye humein ki political vendetta par sarkar ka kya roop hai.

Sir, I thank you for giving me this opportunity. Sir, I want to speak about the tragedy of those who made our nation proud, that is our ex-sports persons.

Jab apno ne diya dard toh duniya se kya kehna

Yun toh lakhon dard mile hain humein par iss dard ka kya kehna

Sir, while the nation is celebrating our recent win in Cricket against England there is a sad state of affairs which I like to bring to the notice of the House through you, Sir. A nation must honour its heroes – be it a soldier, a seller or a sports star. Wherever they go they are the ones who carry our country’s pride and calls with them.

But are we doing enough to honour those who make our nation proud? Are we taking care of those athletes who won middle through us? Though the Ministry of Sports has always talked about the efforts to improve sports facilities in the country it is important that they also start talking about the efforts to honor ex-sports persons who brought glory to our nation.

Sir, I am deeply saddened by the way they have been pushed to the margins of the sports in history and by the fact they have to spend their lives in poverty struggling to make ends meet.

Sir, Sarwan Singh a gold medalist in the 110 meters hurdles at 1954 Asian Games worth as a taxi driver and finally as an agricultural laborer at the age of 70.

Yusuf Khan was the part of the gold medal winning team in soccer as 1962 Asian Games.

At the same games Makhan Singh won the relay games. Both led poverty stricken lives after retirement.

Gopal Bhangra in 1978 a world cup participant had worked in a stone quarry.

Kabaddi champion Shanti Devi sells vegetables and Sita Sau who won two bronze medals at 2011 special Olympic games in Athens now sells golgappas.

Sir, I have named just few, though there are numerous such cases. A small amount of monthly pension is now granted to our sports person under the sports fund pensions to meritorious sportsperson. But we need ask ourselves is it enough?

Trinamool MPs raise matters of public importance during Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha

Trinamool MPs – Derek O’Brien, Vivek Gupta, Nadimul Haque – today raised several matters of public importance during Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha.

While Derek O’Brien spoke on securing interests of Indian IT firms creating value globally, Vivek Gupta demanded an investigation into the case of missing JNU student Najeeb. Nadimul Haque’s Zero Hour mention on honouring the glory of former sportspersons received support across the aisle.

“We need to protect the Indian IT companies. They play a positive role across the world. The software engineers are a jewel in the crown of Indian and international workforce,” Derek said.

Vivek Gupta said that the issue of missing student Najeeb is a clear case of political vendetta and wondered if Najeeb will become yet another statistic of missing person.

Vivek Gupta also made a special mention on the issue of federalism. “Centre has not given any moratorium to Bengal for debt relief but has helped foreign countries. Centre has done nothing for the shortage of IAS/IPS officers in the State,” he said.

He added, “Centre, of late, has been taking several decision arbitrarily without consulting the States. Centre has decided to remit money to MGNREGA directly. This is a direct attack on States’ fiscal independence.”

আজ রাজ্যসভায় জিরো আওয়ার চলাকালীন তৃণমূল সাংসদ ডেরেক ও’ব্রায়েন, বিবেক গুপ্তা ও নাদিমুল হক বেশ কিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়ে সরকারের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করেন।

এইচ ১বি ভিসা ইস্যুতে ডেরেক ও’ব্রায়েন তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি কর্মীদের স্বার্থ সুরক্ষিত করার দাবী করেন। জেএনএউ এর ছাত্র নাজিবের নিরুদ্দেশ হওয়ার ব্যাপারে তদন্তের দাবি জানান বিবেক গুপ্তা। নাদিমুল হক প্রাক্তন খেলোয়াড়দের অর্থনৈতিক অবস্থার উন্নতির প্রসঙ্গ তোলেন যা কক্ষে উপস্থিত সকলেই সমর্থন করেন।

বিবেক গুপ্তা বলেন, নাজিবের নিরুদ্দেশ হওয়া একটি রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসার ঘটনা। তিনি সরকারের কাছে আবেদন করেন নাজিব যেন শুধুই নিরুদ্দেশের পরিসংখ্যান হয়ে থেকে না যায়।

নাদিমুল হক তাঁর বক্তব্যে আন্তর্জাতিক পুরস্কারপ্রাপ্ত অনেক খেলোয়াড়দের প্রসঙ্গ তোলেন যারা এখন জীবিকা নির্বাহের জন্য পাথরের খাদানে কিংবা ড্রাইভারের কাজ করছেন।

বিবেক গুপ্তা যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় পরিকাঠামোর ব্যাপারে একটি ‘স্পেশ্যাল মেনশন’ পেশ করেন। তিনি বলেন, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার বাংলার ঋণ মুকুবের ক্ষেত্রে কিছু না করলেও অন্যান্য অনেক দেশকে আর্থিক সাহায্য করছে। রাজ্যে আইএএস ও আইপিএস আধিকারিকদের ঘাটতি নিয়েও কিছু করেনি কেন্দ্র। তিনি বলেন, এই সরকার রাজ্যের সঙ্গে কোনও আলোচনা না করে অনেক সিদ্ধান্ত নিচ্ছে।

Leader of the party in Lok Sabha, Sudip Bandyopadhyay today raised a very important issue during Zero Hour in the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister.

Centre owes Bengal Rs 1700 crore towards wages under the MGNREGA scheme. The Centre pays wages to those who work for the scheme. Large number of wagers in Bengal have not been paid, Sudip Banerjee said.

He demanded that the dues be cleared immediately.

This was the only issue raised during Zero Hour today in Lok Sabha, Sudip Banerjee spoke amid the din.

“১০০ দিনের কাজের ১৭০০ কোটি টাকা বকেয়া রেখেছে কেন্দ্র, এই প্রকল্পের অধীনে যারা কাজ করেন তাদেরকে কেন্দ্রের টাকা দেওয়ার কথা। এছাড়া আরও অনেক প্রকল্পের ক্ষেত্রে বাংলার টাকা বাকি রেখেছে কেন্দ্র”, বলেন সুদীপ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

তিনি দাবি করেন যে তাদের এই বকেয়া যেন অবিলম্বে মিটিয়ে দেওয়া হয়।

আজ জিরো আওয়ারে শুধুমাত্র এই একটি ইস্যুই লোকসভায় উত্থাপিত হয়, তৃণমূলের পক্ষ থেকে বক্তা ছিলেন সুদীপ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

Madam, this is about Kashmir. Another protester succumbed to injuries in Kashmir yesterday, pushing the death toll in the month up to 58, even as curfew and security restrictions continue to remain in place in the Valley. So far there had been 933 pellet cases.

On Monday, 7 civilians including 4 women were hit by pellets in Anantnag district. There are no signs of clashes and protests abetting in the valley. Three BSF persons were also killed in an attack by militants in North Kashmir

The Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister reportedly told the Home Minister while initiating the dialogue process Centre must ensure that the cycle of violence goes down.

Pratima Mandal speaks during Zero Hour about beneficiaries for rural development scheme

Thank you Madam for giving me the opportunity to speak on Zero hour.

Madam the government has drawn up a list of beneficiaries based on ACPC 2011 data. As per data, 13 percent or 2.37 crore houses have only kutcha walls, one room and kutcha roof. But Madam there are large number of cases pending those who have the same category, belong to same category but their name has not been entered in this list.

And on the other hand Madam, for instances when one beneficiary whose name was entered the list, dies before getting the benefit, details of his/ her legal dependence have not been entered. There is no provision in this case to include their name.

So, I would like to request the Hon’ble Minister of rural development to consider the cases of beneficiaries whose names have not been entered into the list and also consider the case for legal aids in case of death of beneficiaries.

Arpita Ghosh speaks during Zero Hour about the harassment of local people in border areas by the BSF

Thank You Madam for giving me the opportunity to speak on this very important issue.

My parliamentary constituency is a border area; the Bangladesh border. As you may know, the BSF is stationed there.

Madam, I keep receiving complaints from local people about the harassment by the BSF on them. School-going girls often complain of harassment.

Recently, a student studying in Class IX committed suicide and in her suicide note she mentioned she was harassed on the way to school.

Problems like this are heard of in many border areas where BSF is present. I would request the government to look into this matter and give us feedback.

Pratima Mandal demands railway connectivity in Kultali during Zero Hour

Thank you Hon’ble Deputy Speaker Sir, for giving me an opportunity to speak during Zero hour.

Sir, my parliamentary constituency is Joynagar. Under this parliamentary constituency Kultali is commonly known as Sundarbens area because small part of Sundarbens falls under this block and surrounded by Thakurain, Bidyadhari Muni river.

Sir, we are going to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our Independence Day but this block has no rail line. The people of this block are getting deprived of railway connectivity. So, I would like to request the Hon’ble Minister that he should ask his department to conduct a survey for this block. He should consider the demand for railway connectivity in Kultali.

Police modernization has been taken out from the list of centrally-funded schemes because of which West Bengal will suffer, specially in Jangalmahal and Hill areas. Chandrakona in Paschim Medinipur district partly comes in Jangalmahal area which falls under my parliamentary constituency of Arambagh; it consists of people from weaker sections of the society.

Since national security is dependent on police modernisation, central government has to allocate funds to the State Government. Bengal should be given full A category status, Hon’ble Chief Minister has already written to Centre regarding the allocation of funds. Hence I urge the Hon’ble Prime Minister to instruct the Home ministry to act upon this demand and do the needful for the betterment of the public.

Sir, main aaj ek bahut zaroori subject par baat karna chah raha hoon: adulteration in food. Sir, pehle sabzi ghee mein banti thi. Ab toh aisa ho gaya ki ghee bhi sabzi se banti hain.

Abhi Puja, Dussehra aur Diwali aane wali hain, Jaise hi teohar ka mausam aata hain, jitni mithaiyan hain, sab banna start ho jati hain. Lekin jitni mithaiyan ban rahi hain, uske andar jo ingredients ja rahe hain, us sab mein adulteration hain, Sir. Abhi doodh mein dekhiye, urea se doodh banaya ja raha hain ki mithai me usko lagaya ja sakey.

Ab kisi bhi market mein aap chale jaiyen, toh wahan par jahan par mithai banti hain, sabke haath agar dekhiyega, sab alag alag rang ke hain, jaise lag rahe hain ki Holi ho gayi hain. Kisi ka blue hain, peela hain, sab mithayi mein rang milaya ja raha hain. Aur yeh rang jo hote hain yeh bahut achhe standards ke nahin hote, aur isse aage jakar ke maulik vimari bhi. Sir, abhi TV par dikhaya tha, ki ek drum hain, usme kachhe kela ko dubaya jata aur jab nikala jata doosre din toh pak jata hai.

Toh, Sir, yeh kya ho raha hain? Main bolna chahta hoon ki cigarette mein aap warning dete hain, ki cigarette peene se yeh yeh beemari hoti hain. Toh yeh sab khane par kyon nahin hain? Har khane par bhi de dijiye. Ki wahan par kele par ki mithaiyon par ya iss par bhi, yeh sab khane par aap ko cancer ya aur bimari ho sakti hain.

Sir, healthy people will lead to a healthy nation. Jab nation healthy hogitoh jaise Olympic mein sab hamara contingent gaya hain toh medal bhi jeet ke aayenge.

Sir, one very important issue I want to raise is that of the brand called Maggi. It was recently banned by many States for various reasons, Sir. But only the State of West Bengal gave it a clean chit after examining it. Later on this ban was lifted. Sir, isme jo sabak humko sikhna hain, is that we need to be strict but we should not go on a witch-hunt and genuine manufacturers should not be harassed.

As per the Annual Public Laboratory Testing Report for the year 2014-15, Sir, 17% of the samples tested were adulterated; and it is an increase of 2 to 3% over the previous year. Whereas the conviction rate has gone down – from 3001 in ’75 it has gone down to 1445. Sir, fines collected by the FSSAI has doubled.
