With massive infrastructure development undertaken in the past six years by the Mamata Banerjee government in tourism sector, tourist spots in Bengal have turned out to be ideal destinations for the four-day-long holiday in the coming week.

The holiday will start with Dol and Holi on March 1 and 2 respectively, followed by Saturday and Sunday. Visiting Santiniketan during Dol always bears a special significance. This year, there is also demand at places like Bankura, Purulia, West Midnapore and Cooch Behar. Hotel owners in tourist spots including Mukutmanipur, Ayodhya Hills and Jhargram have been getting several calls for booking.

A large number of people have also chosen Digha and Mandarmoni as their all time favourite to visit during Dol. Many are also going to visit Darjeeling and other tourist spots in north Bengal.

Soon after coming to power, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directed the state tourism department to take necessary steps to ensure that Bengal comes up as the number one tourism destination across the globe.

Development of necessary infrastructure including roads, basic amenities, better lodging facilities have been carried out, besides promoting the local art forms.

 

দোলের ছুটিতে জমজমাট পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন

এবছর দোল উপলক্ষে টানা ৪ দিন ছুটি। আর তাই ভ্রমণপ্রিয় বাঙালী পেয়ে গেছে ঘুরতে যাওয়ার আরেকটা সুযোগ। অন্যান্য রাজ্য বা বিদেশ নয় – পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বিভিন্ন পর্যটন কেন্দ্রের চাহিদাই তুঙ্গে।

২০১১ সালে ক্ষমতায় আসার পর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বাধীন তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সরকার রাজ্যের পর্যটন পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের জন্য নিয়েছে একগুচ্ছ পদক্ষেপ। তার ফলস্বরূপ, গত ছয় বছরে পর্যটনে উন্নতিও হয়েছে চোখে পড়ার মতো।

দোলের সময় শান্তিনিকেতন যাওয়ার ঝোঁক থাকে সকলেরই। কিন্তু এবছর অন্যান্য জেলাতেও – যেমন বাঁকুড়া, পুরুলিয়া, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, কোচবিহার – প্রচুর মানুষ বেড়াতে যাবেন এই ছুটিতে।

মুকুটমণিপুর, অযোধ্যা পাহাড়, ঝাড়গ্রামের মত পর্যটন কেন্দ্রের হোটেল মালিকরা অসংখ্য ফোন পাচ্ছেন ওই চার দিন তাদের হোটেলে ঘর বুকিং-এর জন্য।

অনেকে আবার দীঘা-মন্দারমনিকেও বেছে নিয়েছেন এই চারদিনের ছুটির জন্য। অনেকে আবার পা বাড়িয়েছেন দার্জিলিং ও উত্তরবঙ্গের দিকে।সব মিলিয়ে দোলের ছুটি জমজমাট।

After holding administrative meetings in different districts across the State, the Bengal Government today held its first Cabinet meeting in the Hills region, in Darjeeling.

From now on, every year, four Cabinet meetings would be held outside Kolkata – two in the Hills and two in Jangalmahal

On May 29, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during a press meet in Nabanna, had said, “Every year, two Cabinet meetings will be held in the Hills and two in different districts of Jangalmahal. Therefore, both the northern and the southern districts will be covered,” she told.

“In Jangalmahal, we will hold the meetings in Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram and Paschim Medinipur districts.”

She met the press after the Cabinet meeting ended.

 

Salient points from the press meet:

  • Today is a historic day – the first Cabinet meeting in the Hills was held today.
  • Every year, two Cabinet meets would be held in the Hills and two in Jangalmahal. The next is in Jangalmahal.
  • A secretariat like the Uttarkanya would be built in the Hills, to be named Tenzing Norgay Bhawan.
  • From now on, all Cabinet meetings in the Hills would be held here.

  • A polytechnic college would be built in Mirik.

  • We want that Jangalmahal keeps smiling, the whole of Bengal keeps smiling.
  • Today’s Cabinet meeting was the first of the two meetings to be held in the Hills.
  • No one can stop good work from happening.
  • For 34 years nothing was done for the Hills. We should be given respect for the work we have re-started.
  • Students of the Hills can study whatever they want. Bengali has not been made compulsory.
  • The people of the Hills want that we come back again and again.

 

 

আমরা পাহাড়ের উন্নয়ন চাইঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

আজ পাহাড়ে মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সিদ্ধার্থশঙ্কর রায়ের আমলে ১৯৭৪ সালে দার্জিলিঙে রাজ্য মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক হয়েছিল। ৩৩ বছর পর আবার শৈলশহরে মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক হল।

গত ২৯ মে নবান্নে সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে পাহাড় ও জঙ্গলমহলে মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠকের কথা ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি জানান, বছরে ২ টি বৈঠক হবে। এছাড়া জঙ্গল্মহলের বিভিন্ন জেলায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকও হবে।

আজ দুপুরে দার্জিলিঙের রাজভবনে হয় এই বৈঠক। বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রীসহ প্রশাসনিক আধিকারিকরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন এই বৈঠকে।

গত ৫ জুন উত্তরেবঙ্গ সফরে যান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। সেদিন মিরিকে একটি জনসভা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী, সেখানে বিভিন্ন সরকারী পরিষেবা তুলে দেন সাধারণ মানুষের হাতে। আগামী ৯ জুন কলকাতা ফেরার কথা মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

 

তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু বিষয়ঃ

  • আজ পাহাড়ে প্রথম মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক হল। আজকের দিনটি ঐতিহাসিক দিন

A unique initiative has been taken to set up a model rooftop organic farming facility at Bidhan Sishu Udyan in Ultadanga, where the state Agriculture department recently organised a three-day Jaibo Krishi Mela.

If everything goes as planned, then students from different schools and colleges will be brought to have a look at rooftop farming at Bidhan Sishu Udayan where organic farming will be carried out with technical support of the state Agriculture department.

It is learnt that organic farming will be carried out on a terrace of around 4,000 square feet of one of the buildings of the organisation at Ultadanga. The preliminary work to initiate the project has started and the final round of the task would be started soon. Around 10 to 12 farmers, who have sound knowledge about organic farming, will cultivate organic vegetables on the rooftop. Since the place is located in the middle of the city, it will be easier to attract people to have a look and learn the “easy techniques” of organic farming.

At present, some farmers cultivate organic vegetables on around three bighas of land at the same place and on every Sunday they sell their produce. Besides selling the vegetables cultivated there, some more farmers from villages in the adjoining districts, too, visit the Sunday marker and sell their organic vegetables.

The state Fisheries department has also taken steps to initiate pisciculture using organic methods in a 22-bigha pond at the same location. Thus, people visiting the place can not only learn the ways of organic farming but also get to know how pisciculture can be done in an organic method.

This comes at the time when the state government has decided to set up a bio-laboratory at Abash in West Midnapore to promote organic farming. All sorts of tests that are necessary for organic farming can be undertaken in the proposed bio-laboratory. The step has been taken considering that the western region of the state has immense potential in growing organic crops. Moreover, the state government is taking steps to introduce policies for organic farming too.

 

নাগরিকদের শেখানো হবে জৈব চাষ

শহরবাসীকে শেখানো হবে জৈব চাষের বিভিন্ন পদ্ধতি এ ব্যাপারে উদ্যোগ নিল রাজ্য সরকার। কিছুদিন আগে কৃষি দপ্তর উল্টোডাঙ্গার বিধান শিশু উদ্যানে তিন দিন ব্যাপী জৈব কৃষি মেলার আয়োজন করেন। এখানে একটি কৃত্রিম ছাদ তৈরি করে চাষের বিভিন্ন পদ্ধতি দেখানো হবে।

স্কুল ও কলেজের ছাত্র ছাত্রীদের এখানে আনা হবে জৈব চাষের পদ্ধতি শেখাতে। আর এসব কর্মসূচিতে সহায়তা করবে কৃষি দপ্তর।

জানা গেছে উল্টোডাঙ্গার একটি বাড়িতে ৪০০০ বর্গফুটের একটি ছাদে এই জৈব চাষ করা হবে। এই প্রকল্পের প্রয়োজনীয় প্রাথমিক কাজ শুরু হয়ে গেছে। ১০/১২ জন অভিজ্ঞ জৈব চাষি এই ছাদে চাষ করবেন। যেহেতু এই জায়গাটি শহরের মাঝখানে, এখানে প্রচুর মানুষ আসতে পারবেন ও জৈব চাষের সহজ পদ্ধতি শিখতে পারবেন।

এই মুহূর্তে ওর কাছাকাছি একটি জায়গায় কিছু চাষি তিন বিঘা জমিতে জৈব চাষ করেন ও তাদের ফসল রবিবার বিক্রয় করেন। পাশাপাশি কিছু গ্রামীণ চাষিরাও জৈব পদ্ধতিতে চাষ করেন ও রবিবার শহরে আসেন তাঁদের আনাজ বিক্রয় করতে।ওখানে ২২ বিঘা একটি পুকুরে রাজ্য মৎস্য দপ্তর জৈব পদ্ধতিতে মাছ চাষ শুরু করেছে। জৈব পদ্ধতিতে শুধু আনাজ চাষ নয়, মৎস্য চাষও শিখতে পারবেন।

পাশাপাশি রাজ্য সরকার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের আবাস-এ একটি জৈব ল্যাবোরাটরি তৈরি করার। জৈব চাষে প্রয়োজনীয় সমস্ত পরীক্ষা করা যাবে ওখানে। রাজ্যের পশ্চিমাঞ্চলে জৈব চাষের বিশাল সম্ভাবনার কথা মাথায় রেখেই এই সিদ্ধান্ত। প্রসঙ্গত, রাজ্য সরকার জৈব চাষের জন্য নতুন নীতি বানানোর উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

Bengal Government has decided to set up a bio-laboratory at Abash in West Midnapore at a cost of more than Rs 1 crore to promote organic farming.  The decision to set up the laboratory has been taken considering that the western region of the state has immense potential in growing organic crops.

All sorts of tests that are necessary for organic farming can be undertaken in the proposed bio-laboratory. Preliminary tasks needed to set up the lab have already been undertaken and the work to set it up will start begin.  This comes at the time when the state agriculture department has taken several measures to ensure increase in organic farming.

The state government has also allotted around 25 acres of land to the Centre to set up a dedicated groundnut research station at Abash; one such research station in Jaunpur and the second of its kind is coming up in Bengal. Eastern and north eastern states would get additional benefit with the setting up of the research station in Bengal.

 

পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের আবাসে জৈব চাষের বিকাশের জন্য গড়া হবে বায়ো ল্যাব

আলু -পটল , শাক -সবজি থেকে শুরু করে মাছ -মাংসে ‘অরগানিক ‘-এর এখন বিপুল চাহিদা। বহু ব্যবসায়ী বিক্রিত পণ্য ‘জৈব ‘বলে দাবি করেন। কেমিক্যাল ব্যবহার হয়নি ভেবে ক্রেতাও তা হুড়মুড়িয়ে কেনেন। জিনিসগুলি জৈব কি না তা বোঝার জন্য পরীক্ষাগার থাকলেও সেখানে নিখুঁতভাবে জানা সম্ভব ছিল না।

রাজ্যের কৃষি দফতর এবার এক কোটি টাকার ও বেশি ব্যয় ‘বায়ো ল্যাব ‘ তৈরি করছে। রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্যোগে এবার পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের আবাসে একটি পরীক্ষাগার তৈরি হচ্ছে। কৃষিজাত পণ্য ও মাছ জৈব কি না তা নিখুঁতভাবে জানতে আর কোনও সমস্যা হবে না।

ওই এলাকায় চিনাবাদাম গবেষণার জন্য ২৫ একর জমি বরাদ্দ করেছে। ওই জমিতে গোটা দেশের চিনাবাদাম পরীক্ষা হবে। পূর্ব ভারতে এমন পরীক্ষাগার নেই।

The forest department is planning to grow and conserve several species of medicinal plants in the three districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.

These plants would be grown on 300 hectares of land and 200 forest protection committees (FPC) will work on the project.

If ordinary residents show an interest in growing these plants, the department will help them to do so and then sell them.

The department has chosen two places, Susunia Hills in Bankura and Kankrajhore in West Midnapore’s Belpahari for the project, under the Medicinal Plant Conservation Area (MPCA), this year.

These areas have been chosen because hilly regions are rich in bio-diversity and earlier several trees of medicinal value grew here.

According to the forest department, plants and trees such as amlaki, hartaki, kalmegh, ghritakumari, ritha, sarpagandha, pial have medicinal values and are economical. So people can make a good profit by planting such trees. Many medicines and even cosmetics are made using the extracts of these trees.

জঙ্গলমহলে ঔষধি গাছ লাগানোর উদ্যোগ বন দপ্তরের

বন বিভাগ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, বাঁকুড়া ও পুরুলিয়া তিনটি জেলায় ভেষজ উদ্ভিদের বিভিন্ন প্রজাতি সংরক্ষণ করার পরিকল্পনা করছে।

৩০০ হেক্টর জমির ওপর এই গাছপালাগুলি হবে এবং 200 বন সুরক্ষা কমিটি এই প্রকল্পের কাজ করবে।

যদি সাধারণ বাসিন্দাদের এই গাছপালা চাষে আগ্রহী হয় তাহলে বন দপ্তর তাদের সাহায্য করবে এবং তারপর তাদের বিক্রি করবে।

এই বছর ভেষজ গাছ সংরক্ষণ এলাকার অধীনে এই প্রকল্পের জন্য বন দপ্তর দুটি জায়গা বেছে নিয়েছেন। একটি হল বাঁকুড়ার শুশুনিয়া পাহাড় ও কাঁকড়াঝোর এবং অপরটি পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের বেলপাহাড়ি।

এইসব এলাকা বাছাই করা হয়েছে কারণ পাহাড়ি এলাকা জীববৈচিত্র্য সমৃদ্ধ এবং আগেও এখানে অনেক ওষধি গাছ হয়েছে।

বন বিভাগের মতে, আমলকী, হরিতকী, কালমেঘ, ঘৃতকুমারী, রিঠা, সর্পগন্ধা, পিয়াল এই সব গাছ লাগানো বেশ লাভজনক এবং এগুলির ঔষধি মান আছে। অতএব এসব বৃক্ষরোপণের দ্বারা মানুষ লাভবান হবেন। অনেক ওষুধ এবং এমনকি প্রসাধন দ্রব্য এই সব গাছের নির্যাস ব্যবহার করে তৈরি করা হয়।

Mamata Banerjee today delivered a four-point chargesheet against the CPI(M).

She was addressing a huge election campaign rally at Narayangarh in West Midnapore. She spoke at length about the dark days under CPI(M) misrule, which was rife with violence and bloodshed.

“It is shameful that the CPI(M), responsible for the despicable incidents in Netai, Nandigram, and Garbeta are once again talking about revenge”, she said.

Here is the four-point chargesheet by Mamata Banerjee:

  • Why was the Netai incident allowed to happen? Who was responsible?
  • CPI(M) should explain why people in Nandigram were attacked. It certainly cannot be the responsibility of Buddhadeb and Lakshman Seth alone; which other leaders were involved?
  • CPI(M) should explain why there were so many murders in Jangalmahal. Who killed Paresh Kumar, Dumri Hansda, Chitto Pal, Sambhu Hansda, Gangaram Das, Sunil Das, Amalendu Dey, Raitun Bibi and Upendu Khatua among many others? Who was responsible?
  • The former Health Minister should answer why there was no health infrastructure in Narayangarh as well as in West Midnapore district.

Those who had turned Jangalmahal into a graveyard are now speaking of peace. The people of Jangalmahal will give befitting reply, she said.

She went on to highlight the development ushered-in in the last four and a half years  – six multi super hospitals in West Midnapore alone while 41 multi super hospitals are coming up across the State in addition to numerous SNCUs, SNSUs and Fair Price Medicine Shops. People are getting benefits of new ITIs, Kanyashree, Kisan Credit Cards, Sikhsashree, Sabuj Sathi, Kisaan Bazaars and many other projects.

She promised that after coming into office for the second time, the first rally will be held at Narayangarh, if people defeat Suryakanta Mishra.

 

নারায়ণগড়ে সিপিএমের বিরুদ্ধে চার্জ শিট মমতার

আজ নারায়ণগড়ের জনসভা থেকে সিপিএমের বিরুদ্ধে চার্জ শিট দাগলেন তৃণমূল নেত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

আজ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের নারায়ণগড়ে একটি প্রচার সভা করেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এদিন তিনি তার বক্তব্যে তিনি সিপিএম আমলের কালো, রক্তাক্ত, প্রতিহিংসামূলক রাজনৈতিক দিনগুলির কথা আবার মনে করিয়ে দেন সাধারণ মানুষকে।

তিনি বলেন, “নেতাই, নন্দীগ্রাম, গড়বেতার জন্য দায়ী সিপিএম, এরপর ওরা আবার বদলা নেওয়ার কথা বলছে এটা লজ্জাজনক”।

দেখে নিনি সিপিএমের বিরুদ্ধে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের চার্জ শিটঃ

  • নেতাই এর ঘটনা কেন হয়েছি? কে দায়ী এর জন্য?
  • নন্দীগ্রামের মানুষের ওপর কেন অত্যাচার করা হয়েছে, সিপিএমের জবাব চাই। শুধুমাত্র বুদ্ধদেব ভট্টাচার্য ও লক্ষ্মণ শেঠ এর জন্য একা দায়ী নন, আর কোন কোন নেতারা এর পিছনে ছিলেন সিপিএমকে এর জবাব দিতে হবে।
  • জঙ্গলমহলে এত মানুষ কেন খুন হয়েছে? সিপিএমকে জবাব দিতে হবে। পরেশ কুমার, দুমড়ি হাঁসদা, চিত্ত পাল, শম্ভু হাঁসদা,গঙ্গাধর দাস,গঙ্গারাম দাস, সুনিল দাস,অমলেন্দু দে, রাইতুন বিবিকে, উপেন্দু খাঁটুয়া কে খুন করেছে? এর জন্যও কে দায়ী?
  • কেন সমগ্র পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলাসহ নারায়ণগড়ে কোন স্বাস্থ্য পরিকাঠামো হয়নি এর জবাব দিতে হবে প্রাক্তন স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রীকে।

যারা জঙ্গলমহলে সন্ত্রাসের রাজনীতি করত আজ তারাই শান্তির বার্তা দিচ্ছে। জঙ্গলমহলের মানুষ তাদের যোগ্য জবাব দেবে।, তিনি বলেন।

গত সাড়ে চার বছরে সারা বাংলা জুড়ে উন্নয়নের কর্মযজ্ঞ হয়েছে – সারা রাজ্যে ৪১টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল তৈরি হচ্ছে, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরে ইতিমধ্যেই ৬টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল তৈরি হয়েছে। অনেকগুলি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান, SNCUs, SNSUs তৈরি হচ্ছে। আইটিআই, পলিটেকনিক কলেজ, কন্যাশ্রী, শিক্ষাশ্রী, কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড, সবুজ সাথীসহ আরও অনেক প্রকল্প চালু হয়েছে বাংলার জন্য।

তিনি প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন, যদি মানুষ সূর্যবাবুকে পরাজিত করেন তাহলে জেতার পর তিনি তার প্রথম সভা করবেন নারায়ণগড়ে।

Over the last four-and-a-half years, Paschim Medinipur has witnessed much improvement in governance. The Trinamool Congress has brought about a lot of development in the district. From infrastructure to education to health to just about everything else, the district is brimming with activities, as a consequence of which the people are happy.

  • Three new women’s police stations set up in Jhargram district – Jhargram, Medinipur and Kharagpur

 

Health & Family Welfare

  • Sick newborn care units (SNCUs): Three set up in Medinipur, Jhargram and Ghatal hospitals
  • Sick newborn stabilisation units (SNSUs): 22 set up in different block hospitals
  • Critical care units (CCUs): 2 set up in Medinipur Medical College and Hospital, and Jhargram District Hospital
  • High dependency units (HDUs): 1 set up in Ghatal Sub-divisional Hospital
  • Belpahari Block Primary Care Centre converted into a 60-bedded hospital
  • Trauma Care Centre set up in Kharagpur Hospital
  • Lalgarh General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) Training Centre almost completed

 

Education

  • Separate toilets built for boys and girls in all schools
  • Bicycles given to 1.16 lakh students in Paschim Medinipur as part of the Sabuj Sathi Scheme
  • Two model schools built in Gopiballavpur and Nayagram
  • One hundred and sixteen primary schools and 720 Higher Secondary schools built; 11 primary schools upgraded to upper primary schools and 262 Madhyamik schools upgraded to Higher Secondary.
  • Mid-day meals being served in all schools, resulting in improvement of both health and attendance, as well a decrease in students dropping off

 

Fishery and Animal Husbandry

  • Almost Rs 50 lakh has been spent to set up fish farming through the cluster technique
  • About 15 lakh chicken and ducklings distributed among various self-help groups (SHG)
  • To generate employment for the youth, 140 Bengal Dairy Kiosks have been set up

 

Minority Welfare

  • Under the Multi-sectoral Development Programme (MSDP), Rs 372 crore has been spent under various projects.
  • This includes 110 classrooms, five building for housing Shishu Siksha Kendra (SSK), 95 buildings under ICDS, seven health centres, one village haat, 282 drinking water projects and 21 micro-irrigation projects.

 

Backward Classes Development

  • 2.45 lakh SC/ST/OBC certificates given
  • To make plates out of sal leaves, 372 machines given to self-help groups

 

Social security

  • Old-age pension being given to 60,000 people from ST communities
  • West Bengal Kendu Leaves Collectors’ Social Security Scheme, 2015 implemented under the name of Samaj Sathi

 

Industry

  • Khasjungle Industrial Growth Centre set up
  • To encourage micro, small and medium enterprises, 25 clusters set up
  • For the purpose of setting up MSMEs, bank loans worth Rs 3,000 crore given out
  • Work for IT park in Kharagpur almost complete

 

PWD and Transport

  • 745 km of roads built/renovated/widened

 

Irrigation

  • Thirteen micro-irrigation projects completed

 

Public Health Engineering

  • Work for 134 water projects started, of which work for 69, worth Rs 81 crore completed.

 

Tourism

  • Jahrgram Rajbari renovated; 21 eco-tourism cottages built

 

Self-Help Groups (SHG)

  • Under Swami Vivekananda Swanirbhar Karmasuchi, 11,000 projects sanctioned

 

Sports and Youth Affairs

  • 583 clubs given financial assistance

 

Biotechnology

  • Sabuj Ahavan Scheme: To create awareness of the good sides of biotechnology, this project has come up in Dhansol village in Gopiballavpur block.

There have been a lot of developments in the districts; and there are plans to bring about more development. The people have never been happier, a far cry from the dark days of Left rule.

বিগত সাড়ে চার বছরে, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলায় ত্রিনমুল কংগ্রেস নিরন্তর কাজ করে বিশাল মাত্রায় উন্নয়ন এবং প্রগতি নিয়ে এসেছে। পরিকাঠামো থেকে শুরু করে শিক্ষা এবং স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যান, এই সব ক্ষেত্রেই প্রচুর উন্নয়ন হয়েছে যার কারনে জেলার সকল মানুষ খুব খুশি।

স্বরাষ্ট্র

৩টি নতুন নতুন মহিলা থানা চালু করা হয়েছে ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলায় – ঝাড়গ্রাম, মেদিনীপুর ও খরগপুর।

 স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যান

৩টি SNCU চালু করা হয়েছে মেদিনীপুর, ঝাড়গ্রাম এবং ঘাটালে।

২২টি SNSU গড়া হয়েছে বিভিন্ন ব্লক হাসপাতালে।

২টি CCU গড়া হয়েছে মেদিনীপুর মেডিকেল কলেজে ও হাসপাতাল এবং ঝারগ্রাম জেলা হাসপাতালে।

ঘাটাল সাব ডিভিশনাল হাসপাতালে ১টি HDU গড়া হয়েছে।

বেলফারি ব্লক প্রাইমারি কেয়ার সেন্টারকে রূপান্তরিত করা হয়েছে ৬০টি শয্যাবিশিষ্ট  হাসপাতালে।

খড়গপুর হাসপাতাল গড়া হয়েছে ট্রমা কেয়ার সেন্টার।

GNM Training Centre গড়া প্রায় শেষ হতে চলেছে।

শিক্ষা

ছেলে ও মেয়েদের জন্য পৃথক শৌচাগার সব স্কুলে।

এই জেলার ১.১৬ লাখ ছাত্র সবুজ সাথী প্রকল্পে সাইকেল পেয়েছে।

গোপিবল্লভপুর ও নয়াগ্রামে ২টি মডেল স্কুল তৈরি করা হয়েছে।

১১৬টি প্রাথমিক ও ৭২০টি উচ্চ প্রাথমিক স্কুল চালু করা হয়েছে। ১১টি প্রাথমিক স্কুলকে উচ্চ প্রাথমিক স্কুল এবং ২৬২ মাধ্যমিক স্কুলকে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক স্কুলে রূপান্তরিত করা হয়েছে।

সব স্কুলে মিড ডে মিল দেওয়া হচ্ছে যার ফলে পুষ্টি এবং উপস্থিতির হার বেড়েছে এবং স্কুল ছুট ছাত্রদের সংখ্যা কমেছে।

 মৎস্য ও পশুপালন

প্রায় ৫০ লক্ষ টাকা খরচ করা হয়েছে ক্লাস্টার টেকনিক দ্বারা মৎস্য চাষের জন্য।

প্রায় ১৫ লক্ষ হাঁস ও মুরগির বাচ্চা স্বনির্ভর দলের মধ্যে বিতরণ করা হয়েছে।

যুবক-যুবতীদের কর্ম সংস্থানের জন্য ১৪০টি বেঙ্গল ডেয়ারি কিয়স্ক গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়ন

MSDP-তে ৩৭২ কোটি টাকা দিয়ে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প রূপায়িত করা হয়েছে।

এর মধ্যে রয়েছে ১১০টি ক্লাসরুম, ৫টি শিশু শিক্ষা কেন্দ্রের জন্য বিল্ডিং, ৯৫টি বিল্ডিং ICDS এর জন্য, ৭টি হেলথ সেন্টার, ১টি গ্রামীণ বাজার, ২৮২টি পানীয় জলের প্রকল্প এবং ২১টি মাইক্রো ইরিগেশন প্রকল্প।

অনগ্রসর কল্যান

২.৪৫ লাখ SC/ST/OBC সার্টিফিকেট প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

শাল পাতার থালা বানানোর জন্য ৩৭২টি মেশিন স্বনির্ভর দলকে প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

সামাজিক সুরক্ষা

৬০,০০০ ST কমিউনিটির লোকেদের ওল্ড-এজ পেনশান দেওয়া হয়েছে।

২০১৫-তে সমাজ সাথী নামে কেন্দু পাতা সংগ্রহকারীদের জন্য সোশ্যাল সিকিউরিটি স্কিম চালু করা হয়েছে।

শিল্প

ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল গ্রোথ সেন্টার নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।

২৫টি MSME ক্লাস্টার তৈরি করা হয়েছে।

MSME গর্তে সুবিধা করতে ৩০০০ কোটি টাকার ব্যাঙ্ক লোন দেওয়া হয়েছে।

খড়্গপুরে আই টি পার্ক নির্মাণ করার কাজ প্রায় শেষ।

পূর্ত ও পরিবহন

 ৭৪৫ কিমি. রাস্তা তৈরি/সারানো/বাড়ানোর কাজ হয়েছে।

সেচ

১৩টি মাইক্রো ইরিগেশান প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ করা হয়েছে।

জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরি

১৩৪টি জলের প্রকল্প শুরু করা হয়েছে, যার মধ্যে ৬৯টির কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে ৮১ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে।

পর্যটন

ঝাড়গ্রাম রাজবাড়ি পুনঃসংস্কার করা হয়েছে। ২১ ইকো-টুরিসিম কটেজ তৈরি করা হয়েছে।

স্বনির্ভর দল

স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ স্বনির্ভর কর্মসূচি প্রকল্পে ১১০০০টি প্রকল্প অনুমোদন করা হয়েছে।

ক্রিড়া ও যুব কল্যান

৫৮৩টি ক্লাবকে আর্থিক সাহায্য করা হয়েছে।

বায়োটেকনোলজি

সবুজ আহবান প্রকল্প – গোপিবল্লভপুর ব্লকে বায়োটেকনোলজি-র সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধিতে এই প্রকল্পটি রূপায়িত হচ্ছে।

এই জেলায় প্রচুর উন্নয়ন হয়েছে এবং আরো উন্নয়ন আনার জন্যে আরো পরিকল্পনা আছে। বাম আমলের দুর্দিন থেকে এগিয়ে আজ এই জেলার লোকের মুখে হাসি ফুটে উঠেছে।

On Sunday, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee addressed three rallies in Paschim Medinipur district, part of the campaign for the 2016 Assembly elections.

All three places – Garbeta, Salboni and Keshpur – witnessed big turnouts. In Keshpur, once infamous for Left terror, Abhishek Banerjee said that Trinamool respects the people’s opinion and would work on the path shown by them. He said that people would express their opinions through the ballot box, in a democratic manner.

During his speeches, he also said that it was Mamata Banerjee who had brought peace to the Jangalmahal region. He stressed the fact that the Left Front could not do even 10% of the work that the Trinamool Congress under Mamata Banerjee has accomplished during the past four-and-a-half years.

গত রবিবার পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলায় তিনটি জনসভা করেন তৃণমূল যুব কংগ্রেসের সভাপতি অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

গড়বেতা, শালবনি ও কেশপুরে এদিন জনসভা করেন অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। লাল সন্ত্রাসের জন্য একসময় কুখ্যাত কেশপুরে দাঁড়িয়ে তিনি বলেন, তৃণমূল সব সময় সাধারণ মানুষের মতামতকে গুরুত্ব দিয়ে সেই পথকেই অনুসরণ করে। তিনি আরও বলেন, মানুষ গণতান্ত্রিক পদ্ধতিতে ভোটবাক্সে তাদের জবাব দেবেন।

এদিন তিনি বলেন, জঙ্গলমহলে যিনি শান্তি ফিরিয়ে এনেছেন তিনি মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। গত সাড়ে ৪ বছরে তৃণমূল যে কাজ করেছে বামফ্রন্ট তাদের ৩৪ বছরের শাসনকালে তার ১০ শতাংশ কাজও করতে পারেনি।

Along with the rest of West Bengal, the district of West Midnapore has also seen unprecedented development under the Trinamool Congress Government.

About 93% of the people in the district can now access State Government schemes.

Here are some highlights of the development in the distrcit:

Administration

  • To enable smoother administration, Jhargram soon to be made a new district
  • Jhargram is already a separate police district

 

Health & Family Welfare

  • For the last almost three years, Jhargram is a separate health district, enabling better servicing.
  • Multi super-speciality hospitals: Four completed – Nayagram, Jhargram, Ghatal, Gopiballavpur; two in Salbani and Debra to be completed by March
  • Fair price medicine stores (FPMSs) set up in Medinipur, Jhargram, Kharagpur and Ghatal Hospitals, as a result of whichmore than 8 lakh people have got a total discount of Rs 13.2 lakh
  • Fair price diagnostic centres (FPDCs) set up in Medinipur, Jhargram and Kharagpur hospitals
  • Mother & Child Care Hub to soon come up in Medinipur Medical College and Hospital
  • 10 mobile medical units (MMUs) in the Jangalmahal region

 

Education

  • Colleges: Nine colleges started – in Lalgarh, Nayagram, Salboni, Keshiari, Gopiballavpur-2, Dantan-2, Kharagpur-2, Mohonapur and Jhargram blocks (women’s wing in Jhargram Raj College)
  • Industrial training institutes (ITIs) built in Ghatal, Salbani, Debra, Garbeta-1, Keshpur, Binpur-2, Nayagram
  • ITIs being built in Binpur-1, Pingla and Daspur-2 blocks, with the work in the latter two to be completed by May
  • Polytechnic college built in Ramgarh. Two more being built in Medinipur and Ghatal.

 

Land reforms, Agriculture

  • Under Nijo Griha Nijo Bhumi (NJNB) Scheme, almost 18,000 landless families have been given patta of 556 acres.
  • More than 12,000 forest patta have been given
  • Kisan Credit Cards given to 7 lakh farmer families
  • Eleven Kisan Mandis built

 

Minority Welfare

  • Scholarships worth Rs 38 crore given to 2.68 lakh students of students from minority communities
  • Loans worth Rs 10 crore to youth from minority communities to make them self-sufficient

 

Backward Classes Development

  • Scholarships under Shikshasree Scheme to more than 1 lakh students
  • Houses constructed for the Lodha community, numbering 1060

 

Kanyashree

  • Kanyashree scholarships given to 2.5 lakh girl students

 

Khadya Suraksha and Khadya Sathi

  • 45 lakh people getting foodgrains at Rs 2 per kg

 

Social security

  • Jangalmahal Action Plan (JAP) started by the Trinamool Congress Government after the Centre folded up the Integrated Action Plan (IAP) for LWE-affected areas
  • Under JAP, during FY 2015-16, 275 projects taken up, to cost Rs 20 crore
  • Under IAP, the West Bengal Government ensured completion of 89% of the projects, spending 92% of the funds

 

Industry

  • Vidyasagar Industrial Park and Godapiyasal Industrial set up in Kharagpur
  • JSW has set up a big cement plant
  • Under Natural Fibre Mission, 2,620 loom workers given skill development courses and many provided equipment as well

 

PWD and Transport

  • The PWD Department has completed 200 projects for roads, bridges, etc.

 

Power

  • Under Sabar Ghare Alo Scheme, all villages have been electrified

 

Irrigation

  • Under Jal Tirtha Scheme, 21 check dams (to control flooding) built
  • A major project, the 750-metre long Amkola Bridge over Kangsabati River, has been implemented by the Irrigation Department

 

Tourism

  • Circuit tourism project completed in Jhargram, at Rs 3.76 crore; included are Jhargram Living Art Museum, renovation of Chilkigarh Kanak Durga Temple and eco-tourism centres in Hatibari, Kankrajhor and Ketkijhora.

 

Self-Help Groups (SHG)

  • Under Anandadhara Scheme, 6,000 SHGs formed
  • Karma Tirtha: 2 set up, 9 more being set up

 

Housing

  • Under Gitanjali Scheme for housing for the homeless, 7,000 houses constructed, and 7,000 more to be built by May

 

Sports and Youth Affairs

  • Stadium in Salbani, Jhargram Sports Academy, Kharagpur

 

Biotechnology

  • Cultivation of lac trees and other cash crops for scheduled tribes
  • A Bioinformatics Centre has been set up in the district.

Under Trinamool Congress, the district of Paschim Medinipur, in fact, the whole of Jnagalmahal has benefitted immensely. The whole district is growing rapidly.

 

পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের অভূতপূর্ব উন্নয়ন

সমগ্র রাজ্যের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলায় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সরকারের অধীনে উন্নয়নের জোয়ার এসেছে। এই জেলার প্রায় ৯৩ শতাংশ মানুষের কাছে সরকারি পরিষেবা পৌঁছে গেছে।

এখানে উন্নয়নের কিছু খতিয়ান উল্লেখ করা হলঃ  

স্বরাষ্ট্র

  • প্রশাসনিক সুবিধার্থে ঝাড়গ্রামে নতুন জেলা গঠনের সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে।
  • ঝাড়গ্রাম ইতিমধ্যেই পৃথক পুলিশ জেলা হিসেবে গড়ে উঠেছে।

 

স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যান

  • ঝাড়গ্রামকে পৃথক স্বাস্থ্য জেলা হিসেবে গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • ৪টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশ্যালিটি হাসপাতাল নির্মাণের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়ে গেছে। এগুলি হল –  নয়াগ্রাম, ঝাড়গ্রাম, ঘাটাল ও গোপীবল্লভপুর।
  • মেদিনীপুর, ঝাড়গ্রাম, খড়গপুর ও ঘাটাল হাসপাতালে ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান চালু হয়ে গেছে। এইসব দোকান থেকে ওষুধ কেনার ফলে ৮ লক্ষের বেশি মানুষ ১৩ কোটি ২০ লক্ষ টাকা ছাড় পেয়েছেন।
  • মেদিনীপুর, ঝাড়গ্রাম, খড়গপুর হাসপাতালে ন্যায্য মূল্যের ডায়াগনস্টিক কেন্দ্র চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • ৩টি SNCU এবং ২২টি SNSU ইতিমধ্যেই চালু হয়ে গেছে। এছাড়া ১টি HDU এবং ২টি CCU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • জঙ্গলমহল এলাকায় ১০টি ব্লকে ভ্রাম্যমাণ মেডিকেল ইউনিট চালু আছে।

 

শিক্ষা

  • এই জেলায় ৯টি কলেজ চালু হয়ে গেছে। যথা- লালগড়, নয়াগ্রাম, শালবনী, কেশিয়াড়ি, গোপীবল্লভপুর-২, দাঁতন-২, খড়গপুর-২, মোহনপুর ও ঝাড়গ্রাম।
  • ৭ টি আইটিআই নির্মাণের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে। আরও ২টি আইটিআই নির্মাণের কাজ চলছে।
  • রামগড়ে নতুন পলিটেকনিক কলেজ চালু হয়েছে এবং পঠন-পাঠনও শুরু হয়েছে।

 

ভূমি সংস্কার ও কৃষি

  • এই জেলায় নিজ গৃহ নিজ ভূমি প্রকল্পে প্রায় ১৮ হাজার ভূমিহীন পরিবারকে ৫৫৬ একর জমির পাট্টা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • বিগত সাড়ে চার বছরে ১২ হাজারেরও বেশি পাট্টা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় ৭ লক্ষ কৃষককে কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ডের আওতাভুক্ত করা হয়েছে।
  • ১১ টি কিষাণ মাণ্ডি তৈরির কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়ে গেছে।

 

সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়ন

  • বিগত সাড়ে চার বছরে ২.৬৮ লক্ষ ছাত্রছাত্রীকে ৩৮ কোটি টাকা বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া স্বনির্ভরতার জন্য সংখ্যালঘু যুবক-যুবতীদের প্রায় ১০ কোটি টাকা ঋণ প্রদান করা হবে।

 

অনগ্রসর কল্যাণ ও আদিবাসী উন্নয়ন

  • ১ লক্ষেরও বেশি ছাত্রছাত্রী শিক্ষাশ্রী প্রকল্পে সহায়তা পাচ্ছে।
  • ১০৬০টি লোধা জনজাতির ঘর নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।

 

কন্যাশ্রী

এই জেলায় আড়াই লক্ষ ছাত্রছাত্রী কন্যাশ্রীর আওতায় এসেছে।

খাদ্য সুরক্ষা কর্মসূচী – খাদ্য সাথী প্রকল্প

এই জেলায় ৪৫ লক্ষ মানুষ ২ টাকা কেজি দরে খাদ্যশস্য পাচ্ছেন।

 শিল্প

  • খড়গপুরে বিদ্যাসাগর ও গোদাপিয়াশাল ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক নির্মিত হয়েছে।
  • জে.এস.ডব্লিউ সিমেন্টের শালবনি প্লান্ট স্থাপনের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে।

 

পূর্ত ও পরিবহন

বিগত সাড়ে চার বছরে এই জেলায় পূর্ত দপ্তর ২০০টি প্রকল্পের কাজ ইতিমধ্যে সমাপ্ত হয়ে গেছে।

বিদ্যুৎ

‘সবার ঘরে আলো’ প্রকল্পে গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ সমাপ্ত হয়েছে।

সেচ ব্যবস্থা

  • এই জেলায় জলতীর্থ প্রকল্পে ২১টি চেক ড্যাম রূপায়িত করা হয়েছে।
  • কংসাবতী নদীর ওপর ৭৫০ মিটার দীর্ঘ আমকলা সেতু নির্মিত হয়েছে।

 

পর্যটন

ঝাড়গ্রামে ৩.৭৬ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ১টি সার্কিট ট্যুরিজম প্রজেক্টের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে ঝাড়গ্রাম লিভিং আর্ট মিউজিয়াম, চিল্কিগড় কণকদুর্গা মন্দির সংস্কার, হাতিবাড়ি, কাঁকড়াঝোড়, কেটকীঝোড় ইকো ট্যুরিজম প্রকল্প।

স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠী

  • আনন্দধারা প্রকল্পে ৬ হাজার স্বনির্ভর দল গঠিত হয়েছে।
  • ১১টি কর্ম তীর্থর মধ্যে ২টির নির্মাণ কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে, আরও ৯টির নির্মাণ কাজ চলছে।

 

আবাসন

গীতাঞ্জলি প্রকল্পে ১৪ হাজার বাসস্থান নির্মিত হচ্ছে এর মধ্যে ৭ হাজার বাসস্থান নির্মাণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়ে গেছে।

ক্রীড়া ও যুব কল্যান

শালবনি স্টেডিয়াম ও ঝাড়গ্রাম স্পোর্টস অ্যাকাডেমি নির্মাণের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে।

বায়োটেকনোলজি

  • তপশিলি উপজাতি মানুষের উন্নয়নের জন্য লাক্ষা চাষ ও অন্যান্য অর্থনৈতিক ফসলের উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধি করা হচ্ছে।

West Bengal Cabinet led by Mamata Banerjee on Friday cleared the deck for setting up five new districts – Kalimpong, Basirhat, Sunderbans, Jhargram and Burdwan industrial, as it was announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

By bifurcating Midnapore (west), Jhargram will be formed. From South 24-Parganas, Sunderbans is to be curved out, similarly Basirhat will be formed from North 24-Parganas. Burdwan will be bifurcated into Burdwan Rural and Burdwan Industrial. Kalimpong will be carved out of Darjeeling district.

Mamata Banerjee, after becoming chief minister, had promised about setting up new districts for better administrative control and so that public service can be delivered at the door steps of the people staying at remote areas.

The five new districts will increase the number of districts of Bengal to 25. Earlier on June 25, Alipuduar became the 20th district of the state after it was curved out of Jalpaiguri.
