The refurbished website for 2017 Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman has been launched by Bengal Government. The website has been given a completely new look, with new sections being added.
The Samman, or awards by the Bengal Government for the best Durga Pujas, are a keenly awaited feature of the festival every year. The concept of these awards is the brainchild of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who gives away the awards every year. The first awards were presented in 2014.
The home page is designed with beautiful pictures of Goddess Durga, taken from some of the award-winning Pujas of the past years. There are five broad sections, which can be accessed from tabs on the top of the home page. They are: About, Winners, Application, Photo Gallery and Contact Us.
The ‘Winners’ section has the details of the past winners (2017 winners will be added to this page too), while the ‘Application’ section is where details about applying for the awards can be found. For any query, one can go to the ‘Contact Us’ section. The home page also has links to the Facebook and Twitter pages of Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman.
Application forms would be available and filled-up forms can be submitted from September 4 to 14, from 12 to 7 pm.
The awards are given in four categories – Kolkata, Rest of Bengal, Rest of India and Rest of World.

চালু হল বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান ২০১৭-র ওয়েবসাইট
চালু হয়ে গেল বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান ২০১৭র ওয়েবসাইট। যুক্ত হয়েছে অনেক নতুন বিভাগ।
দুর্গাপুজোর অন্যতম আকর্ষণ হল রাজ্য সরকার প্রদত্ত বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান। এই প্রয়াসটি সম্পূর্ণ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের মস্তিষ্কপ্রসূত। ২০১৪ সাল থেকে শুরু হয় এই সম্মাননা প্রদান। কলকাতা, জেলা, বাংলার বাইরে এবং দেশের বাইরের শ্রেষ্ঠ পুজোগুলোকে সম্মান জানানো হয় এর মাধ্যমে।
এই ওয়েবসাইটের হোমপেজটি দুর্গাপুজোর বিভিন্ন মুহূর্তের ছবি দিয়ে সজ্জিত। এই ছবিগুলি নেওয়া হয়েছে গত কয়েক বছরের শ্রেষ্ঠ পুজোগুলি থেকে। নতুন এই ওয়েবসাইটে ৫টি বিভাগ আছে: অ্যাবাউট, উইনার্স, এপ্লিকেশন, ফটো গ্যালারি, কন্টাক্ট আস।
উইনার্স বিভাগে গত ৩ বছরের বিজয়ীদের ব্যাপারে বিশদে তথ্য আছে। এপ্লিকেশন বিভাগে বলা আছে কিভাবে পুজো উদ্যোক্তারা এই পুরস্কারের জন্য আবেদন করতে পারবেন। কিছু জিজ্ঞাস্য থাকলে তা জানা যাবে কন্টাক্ট আস বিভাগে। হোমপেজে বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মানের ফেসবুক ও টুইটার পেজের লিঙ্ক দেওয়া আছে।
আবেদন পত্র জমা দেওয়া যাবে সেপ্টেম্বরের ১৪ই সেপ্টেম্বর পর্যন্ত (রোজ দুপুর ১২টা থেকে সন্ধ্যা ৭টা পর্যন্ত) এই ঠিকানায়:
