Now you can order fish online and through SMS

The State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC), under the Bengal Fisheries Department, has started the facility of ordering fish online and through SMS. From rohu to catla to bata to all the favourite fishes of Bengalis, are now available from the comfort of one’s home.

The fishes are delivered the day after being ordered. They are delivered on motorbikes, fitted with freezer units to keep the fishes fresh.

Since the fish are procured directly from the fishery cooperatives under the Fisheries Department, they are available at a price cheaper that in the markets. For now, the service is available in Salt Lake and New Town.

এবার এসএমএসের মাধ্যমে এবং অনলাইনে মাছের অর্ডার দেওয়া যাবে

রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্যোগে রাজ্য মৎস্য দপ্তর এবার জনগণের জন্য আনল এক বিশেষ পরিষেবা। এবার এসএমএসের মাধ্যমে অনলাইনে মাছের অর্ডার দিতে পারবে যে কেউ। রুই, কাতলা বা বাটা মাছ সবই মিলবে অনলাইনে।

যেদিন অর্ডার দেওয়া হবে তার পরের দিনই মাছ পৌঁছে দেওয়া হবে ফ্রিজযুক্ত মোটরসাইকেলে করে।

যেহেতু এই মাছগুলি মৎস্য দপ্তরের অন্তর্গত মৎস্য সমবায়গুলি থেকে পাওয়া যায়, বাজারের থেকে এই মাছের দাম কম হবে। এই মুহুর্তে এই পরিষেবা সল্টলেক ও নিউটাউনে শুরু করা হয়েছে।

Bengal setting up ‘Common Production Centre’ for nolen gur

The West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board (WBKVIB) is constructing a ‘Common Production Centre’ for machine-making nolen gur, which are sold in tubes.

The manufacturing centre is coming up in Majdia in Nadia distirct. Till now, the gur for selling in tubes was made by hand, in the traditional way. Now, to increase the amount of gur being produced, automation is being introduced. This would also result in employment.

Two years back, WBKVIB had introduced an all-time favourite item of Bengalis’ – nolen gur – in tubes, like toothpaste tubes. The tubed gur is easy to use and store, and for this reason has become very popular.

WBKVIB falls under the administrative control of the Micro and Small Scale Enterprises (MSME) and Textiles Department of the Bengal Government.

Another good news for those buying the nolen gur tubes is that recently, the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) has increased the expiry period of the tubed gur from 120 days to 180 days, that is, from four months to six months.

নলেন গুড়ের ‘কমন প্রোডাকশন সেন্টার’ গড়ছে রাজ্য

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ খাদি ও গ্রামোদ্যোগ বোর্ড একটি নলেন গুড়ের ‘কমন প্রোডাকশন সেন্টার’ গড়ছে যেখানে যন্ত্রের মাধ্যমে নলেন গুড় তৈরি হবে, যেগুলি টিউবে করে বিক্রি হবে।

এটি তৈরি হচ্ছে নদীয়া জেলার মাজদিয়ায়। এখনও পর্যন্ত যে নলেন গুড় টিউবে বিক্রি হয়, তা হাতে তৈরি হত। এখন উৎপাদন বাড়াতে নেওয়া হবে যন্ত্রের সাহায্য। এর ফলে বাড়বে কর্মসংস্থান।

দু’বছর আগে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ খাদি ও গ্রামোদ্যোগ বোর্ড প্রথম বাজারে আনে টিউবের মাধ্যমে নলেন গুড়। যেহেতু এই গুড় সংরক্ষণ ও ব্যবহার করা খুব সহজ, তাই দুবছরেই এটি বেশ জনপ্রিয়তা লাভ করেছে।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ খাদি ও গ্রামোদ্যোগ বোর্ডকে প্রশাসনিক ভাবে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করে ক্ষুদ্র ও কুটির শিল্প ও বস্ত্র দপ্তর।

আরও সুখবর হল এই যে, সম্প্রতি ইন্ডিয়ান স্কুল অফ প্যাকেজিং এই গুড়ের মেয়াদ ১২০ দিন থেকে বাড়িয়ে করেছে ১৮০ দিন।

Taking selfies is the craze now, and few experiences can better that of taking a selfie with a royal Bengal tiger. Well, not a live one, but so what? The Sundarbans Walkthrough Diorama at the Marine Aquarium and Regional Centre (MARC) in Digha in Purba Medinipur district gives you that opportunity now.

A diorama is a model representing a scene with three-dimensional figures, either in miniature or as a large-scale museum exhibit.

The diorama at MARC is a large-scale exhibit imitating the floral and faunal architecture of the Sundarbans. The soil is just like the soft soil of the Sundarbans. Besides life-size models of tigers, crocodiles and other animals, the life of fishermen of the region has also been depicted.

Entering the diorama would give one the impression that one has come to the Sundarbans. This is as real an experience as a model could give.

Since the Trinamool Congress came to power in 2011, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has taken a lot of initiatives to make Digha into a world-class resort. Over the last six years, various parks, roads, walkways, etc. have been built. Tourists now have access to a lot of amenities. Biswa Bangla Park has become a tourist hot spot. A coast-hugging highway, named ‘Saikat Sarani’ by Mamata Banerjee, stretches from Digha right through to Udaypur, which has become very popular with tourists. A lot of trees have been planted. A helicopter service has been introduced too, connecting Digha to Kolkata.

দিঘার নয়া আকর্ষণ রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগারের সঙ্গে সেলফি

নিজের মোবাইলে সেলফি তোলার মজাই আলাদা। তার ওপর সেই সেলফি যদি রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগারের সঙ্গে হয়, তাহলে তো কথাই নেই। জীবনের ঝুঁকি ছাড়াই দিঘায় সমুদ্রস্নানে এসে সেই সুযোগ নিতে পারবেন পর্যটকেরা। শুধু রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগার নয়, সুন্দরবনের কুমির কিংবা তিমি মাছের সঙ্গে সেলফি তুলেও হোয়াটস অ্যাপ বা ফেসবুকের ডিপি দিতে পারবেন পর্যটকেরা। তার জন্য দিঘার মেরিন অ্যাকুয়ারিয়ামে একবার আসতেই হবে।

এবার নয়া আকর্ষণ- সুন্দরবন ওয়াকথ্রু ডায়রামা প্রকল্পে মিউজিয়ামের একটা অংশকে সুন্দরবনের পরিবেশের মতো সাজিয়ে তোলা হয়েছে। এই এলাকার মাটি একেবারে সুন্দরবনের এলাকার মাটির মতো তৈরি করা হয়েছে। তার মধ্যে মডেলের মাধ্যমে মৎস্যজীবীদের জীবনযাত্রা, রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগার, কুমির প্রভৃতি সুন্দরবনের জীবজন্তু তুলে আনা হয়েছে।

এই এলাকায় ঢুকে পড়লে যে কোনও মানুষের মনে হবে তাঁরা সুন্দরবনের কোনও এলাকায় ঢুকে পড়েছেন। ফলে সমুদ্রের আনন্দ নিতে এসে পর্যটকেরা কৃত্রিম ভাবে হলেও সুন্দরবন ঘুরে দেখার স্বাদ নিতে পারবেন।

IMR in Bengal down to 25 under Trinamool, Bengal among top three States in India

Health has been one of the primary concerns of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ever since coming to power, so much so that she herself holds the Cabinet portfolio for the Health Department.

Soon after coming to power, she had instituted a task force to bring down the infant mortality rate (IMR) of Bengal, a move which has delivered significant results over the last six years. From 31 in 2011, when the Trinamool Congress came to power, the IMR came down to 26 in December 2016.

And now, as per the latest report of the Union Health Ministry, the number has further come down to 25. This was conveyed during the recently-held ‘Best Practices and Innovation in Public Health Service’ seminar.

The improved IMR number is primarily because of three reasons:

Higher number of institutional deliveries;
Setting up of new sick newborn care units (SNCU) in districts;
Significant improvement in the nutritional input for new mothers.

With respect to SNCU, the number of doctors and nurses trained in operating these has also been significantly improved. On the other hand, ASHA health workers are helping in bringing news about pregnant mothers and sick children to doctors and conveying back their advice, and also helping in bringing sick children (as well as mothers) immediately to the nearest health centres or hospitals on government-registered Matri Jaans and Nishchay Jaans, and if required, getting them admitted to SNCUs.

ASHA and aanganwadi workers are also helping in convincing pregnant mothers to go for institutional deliveries instead of depending on quacks, especially in rural areas, as well as delivering nutritious food free of cost to new mothers.

সদ্যোজাত শিশুমৃত্যু হার কমে ২৫, জানাল কেন্দ্রীয় রিপোর্ট

স্বাস্থ্যক্ষেত্রে ফের জাতীয় স্তরে কামাল করল বাংলা। ক্ষমতায় এসেই আলাদা টাস্ক ফোর্স গঠন করেছিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। ফলও পেলেন হাতেনাতে।

২০১১ সালে রাজ্যে সদ্যোজাত শিশুমৃত্যুর হার ছিল ৩১। অর্থাৎ প্রতি এক হাজার প্রসবে সদ্যোজাত থেকে এক বছর বয়স পর্যন্ত ৩১টি বাচ্চার মৃত্যু হত। তৃণমূল জমানায় ধাপে ধাপে তা কমে হয় ২৮ এবং ২০১৬ সালের ডিসেম্বরে প্রকাশিত কেন্দ্রীয় রিপোর্ট অনুযায়ী হয়ে দাঁড়ায় ২৬। এই সেপ্টেম্বরে প্রকাশিত কেন্দ্রীয় রিপোর্ট শোনাল নতুন সুখবর। সদ্যোজাত শিশুমৃত্যুর হার বা ইনফ্যান্ট মর্টালিটি রেট আরও কমেছে বাংলায়। তা হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ২৫। গ্রামবাংলায় এই হার ২৫, শহরাঞ্চলে ২২।

এর প্রধান কারণ তিনটি:

এক, পশ্চিমবঙ্গে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক প্রসব বৃদ্ধি।

দুই, গুরুতর অসুস্থ সদ্যোজাত বাচ্চাদের জন্য হওয়া এসএনসিইউ বা সিক নিউ বর্ণ কেয়ার ইউনিট-এর সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি।
তিন, মায়েদের সার্বিক পুষ্টির মান আগের থেকে ভালো হওয়া।

এসএনসিইউ-এর সংখ্যা বেড়ে যাওয়ায় এখন আগের থেকে অনেক বেশী যত্ন পাচ্ছে সদ্যোজাতরা। অধিকাংশ বড় মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালের এসএনসিইউ-তে এখন শ্বাসকষ্টের চিকিৎসায় সি প্যাপ, ভেন্টিলেটর ইত্যাদি যন্ত্র রয়েছে। প্রশিক্ষিত ডাক্তার ও নার্সের সংখ্যাও বেড়েছে।

এই সুফলের আরও কারণ হল আশা কর্মীদের মাধ্যমে আসন্নপ্রসবা মহিলাদের খবর জানা, ‘নিশ্চয় যান’ এর মাধ্যমে নিখরচায় অসুস্থ বাচ্চাকে নিয়ে দ্রুত হাসপাতালে চলে আসা এবং পরিকাঠামোগত উন্নতি। এখন বাচ্চা অসুস্থ হলে গ্রামবাংলাতেও মায়েরা তাকে বাড়িতে ফেলে রাখেন না। কাছাকাছি স্বাস্থ্যকেন্দ্রে নিয়ে আসেন।

প্রসঙ্গত, কিছুদিন আগেই ‘বেস্ট প্র্যাকটিসেস অ্যান্ড ইনোভেশনস ইন পাবলিক হেলথ সিস্টেম’ শীর্ষক জাতীয় সম্মেলনে শিশুমৃত্যুর হার দ্রুত কমানোর বিষয়ে রাজ্য সরকার উচ্চ প্রশংসিত হয়।

People of Bengal defeated all conspiracies during festive season: Mamata Banerjee

Today, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attended a Bijoya Sammilani function organised by the police at Jhargram.

Greeting people on the occasion, she expressed happiness that people of Bengal set an example of communal harmony during the festive season.

Excerpts of her speech:

Congratulations to everyone for ensuring a peaceful Durga Puja. This year, Muharram and Durga Puja happened at the same time, just like in 1982. For the last four to five years, the people of Bengal have been celebrating Durga Puja and Muharram at the same time. This year, the celebrations were totally incident-free, for which I congratulate the people of Bengal.

We all follow some religion or the other, but we all celebrate festivals together. A celebration is transformed into a festival only when everyone comes together.

A lot of conspiracies were hatched, but to the credit of you all, no untoward incident happened during the happy festival. I convey my ‘pranam’ and my ‘salam’ to everyone. Remember, it is because of you all standing together that Bengal is as united as it is today.

We have been holding the Durga Puja Carnival for the last two years. Nobody can do it the way Bengal does it. From next year, the day before or after the carnival in Kolkata, similar carnivals would be held in all the districts. As a result, all Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman award winners, be they from Kolkata or from anywhere in Bengal, would be able to participate in a grand carnival en route to their immersions.

I say it with conviction that the way Durga Puja and Muharram are held together, Ganapati Puja and Muharram can never be. What Bengal can do none can. In Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, immersions were on put hold on the day of Muharram, but nobody said anything. Here, even a case was filed. We abided by the court’s decision. But the biggest judgement was delivered by the people.

It is because of the people’s patience and deep creativity that you have been able to do what you did. We are very happy that the festival of football has started in Kolkata.

It is to Bengal’s credit that FIFA officials are coming here to conduct meetings, where they have said Salt Lake Stadium has the potential to become the world’s best stadium. This is our pride.

The kind of promotion that I have seen in Kolkata, ZI am seeing in Jhargram too. I am feeling very happy, and happiness is meant to be shared with all. This is the season of festivals.

In Jangalmahal, 30,000 boys and girls are getting the opportunity now to play football. One the occasion of the Un-17 World Cup, we are giving away 1.5 lakh footballs. The footballs are branded ‘Joyee’, each of which costs Rs 2,500. These have been made by village girls, and the State Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department is in charge of the manufacturing. We are giving five footballs each to every school, college and club committee.

The philosophy by which we can all live together happily should be the basis of our religion. The best religion is the one which talks of including all humanity within its ambit. The interpretation of religion is loving and uniting all of humanity. The true religion is about dousing fires, and not setting fire to.

উৎসবের সময় বাংলার মানুষ কোন চক্রান্তে পা দেয়নিঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

আজ ঝাড়গ্রামে প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকের পর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পুলিশের আয়োজিত বিজয়া সম্মিলনীতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। সেখানে তিনি জনসাধারণকে বিজয়ার শুভেচ্ছা জানান।

তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশঃ-

আমি সকলকে অভিনন্দন জানাচ্ছি। ধন্যবাদ জানাচ্ছি এই কারণে যে পুজোর দিনগুলো সুন্দর ভাবে, শান্তিপূর্ণ ভাবে আপনারা পালন করেছেন। মহরম ও পুজো একসঙ্গে ছিল। ১৯৮২ সালে একই সাথে মহরম ও পুজো পড়েছিল। গত ৪/৫ বছর ধরে পুজো-মহরম একসাথে বাংলার মানুষ করে এসেছে সারা দেশের সাথে। কিন্তু, মনে রাখবেন, এবার কোনও ঘটনা ঘটেনি, টোটাল ইন্সিডেন্ট ফ্রি। এই পুজো-মহরম বাংলার মানুষ একসাথে পালন করেছে, এর কৃতিত্ব সকল মানুষের।

ধর্ম যার যার, কিন্তু উৎসব সবার। সব মানুষ মিলিত হতে পারলে, তবেই তো উৎসব উৎসারে উৎসারিত হয়।

অনেক চক্রান্ত হয়েছিল, অনেক ষড়যন্ত্র হয়েছিল, আমি কৃতজ্ঞ বাংলার মানুষ এই খেলায় পা দেয়নি, বাংলার মানুষ এই চক্রান্তে পা দেয়নি। আমি প্রতিটা মানুষকে আমার সালাম জানাই, প্রণাম জানাই। মনে রাখবেন, আপনারা আছেন বলেই বাংলার এই শক্তি।

দুর্গাপুজোর কার্নিভাল গত দুবছর ধরে আমরা করছি। এবার থেকে আমরা যেদিন বিশ্ববাংলা কার্নিভাল করব, তার পরের দিন, অথবা তার আগের দিন, জেলাগুলোও একটা করে কার্নিভাল করবে। অর্থাৎ জেলায় যে ঠাকুরগুলো বিশ্ব বাংলা পুরস্কার পাবে তারা একসাথে লাইন দিয়ে বিসর্জন দিতে যাবে।

আমি চ্যালেঞ্জ করে বলি, গণপতি বিসর্জন ও মহরম কেউ একসঙ্গে করে দেখাতে পারবে না। বাংলা যা পারে, অন্য কেউ তা পারে না। বিহারে মহরমের দিন বিসর্জন বন্ধ ছিল, উত্তরপ্রদেশেও ছিল, সেখানে তো কেউ কিছু বলেনি। এখানে কোর্টে কেস পর্যন্ত করা হয়েছে। কোর্টের অর্ডারও আমরা মেনেছি। কিন্তু মানুষ যেটা মানে সেটাই সবচেয়ে বড় বিচার।

মানুষ ধৈর্য, সহনশীলতা, সৃজনশীলতা দেখিয়েছে; তাই আজ আপনারা এটা করতে পেরেছেন যা আর কেউ করতে পারবে না।

সকলকে ভালো রাখার ও ভালোবাসার নামই ধর্ম। যে ধর্ম মানবিকতার কথা বলে সেটাই সবচেয়ে বড় ধর্ম। একতাই সম্প্রীতি, ধর্ম আমাদের এটাই শেখায়। ধর্মের অপর নাম মানুষকে ভালোবাসা, মানুষকে এক করে রাখা, ধর্ম মানে আগুন লাগানো নয়, আগুন নিভিয়ে দেওয়া।

কলকাতায় ফুটবল উৎসব শুরু হয়েছে, আমরা খুব খুশি। আজ ফিফার লোকেরা বাংলায় এসে বৈঠক করছে, এটা বাংলার কৃতিত্ব। তারা বলেছে কলকাতার সল্টলেক স্টেডিয়াম বিশ্বের এক নম্বর স্টেডিয়ামে পরিণত হতে পারে। এটা আমাদের গর্ব।

কলকাতায় যে প্রচার দেখেছি ঝাড়গ্রামে এসেও আমি একই প্রচার দেখছি। আমার খুব ভালো লাগছে; আনন্দ ভাগ করে নিতে হয়।

জঙ্গলমহলের ৩০ হাজার ছেলেমেয়ে এখন ফুটবল খেলায় অংশগ্রহণ করে। এবার বিশ্ব ফুটবল উৎসব উপলক্ষে আমরা প্রায় দেড় লক্ষ ফুটবল দেওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করেছি। ফুটবলটির নাম ‘জয়ী’, যার মূল্য আড়াই হাজার টাকা। এগুলি তৈরি করছে গ্রামের মেয়েরা, দায়িত্বে আছে পুনর্বাসন দপ্তর। প্রতিটি স্কুল, কলেজ, ক্লাব কমিটিকে আমরা ৫ টি করে বল দিয়েছি।

Huge improvement in sports infrastructure in Bengal

The sports infrastructure in Bengal during the last six years, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has improved significantly.

The Department of Youth Services and Sports has undertaken a lot of programmes on the education, health, employment and holistic mental and physical development of students and the youth.
Development of playgrounds: Financial assistance given to 331 institutions/ organisations

Setting up of multi-gyms: Financial assistance given to 2,244 institutions / organisations

Construction of mini indoor games facilities: Financial assistance given to 635 institutions/ organisations

Tournaments: Organisation of Annual Youth Festivals and Jangalmahal Cup, and financial assistance to police authorities for conducting the Sunderban Cup and Himal-Tarai Dooars Sports Festival.

Mountaineering and adventure sports: Encouraging the youth to take up mountaineering and adventure sports activities under the aegis of the West Bengal Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Foundation (WBMASF). During the last six years, 18 mountaineers from the state have conquered Mt Everest (compare this to only 4 from 1947 to May 2011). Stringent rules have been framed to select the climbers for Mt Everest and other 8000 metres above peaks. Through the department, rock climbing courses, coastal trekking, mountaineering expeditions, mountaineering courses at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling, assistance to mountaineering clubs, etc. are organised. Radhanath Sikdar and Tenzing Norgay Adventure Awards and Chhanda Gayen Bravery Award have been introduced, and are given every year.

Bangla Yuba Kendra: To create a healthy socio-cultural ambience, a three-tier organisation (block-level, district-level and state-level) named Bangla Yuba Kendra has been set up to coordinate the different programmes of this department.

Budgetary allocation: The Plan Expenditure has increased by multiple times in the last six years – from Rs 5.52 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 185.3 crore during 2016-17 in the case of Youth Services and from Rs 29.29 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 237.21 crore during 2016-17 in the case of Sports.

Building of stadiums and sports complexes: Stadiums in Nayagram (Jhargram district), Salboni (Paschim Medinipur district), Memari and Bhatar (Purba Bardhaman district), Onda (Bankura district), Islampur (Uttar Dinajpur) and Uluberia (Howrah district), Archery Academy in Jhargram district, swimming pools in Baruipur and Canning (South 24 Parganas district), sports academy (including stadium) in Khatra (Bankura district), sports complexes (including stadiums) in Barrackpore and Naihati (North 24 Parganas district), and sports complex at Tala Park in Kolkata.

২০১১ সালে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই যুগান্তকারী পরিবর্তন এসেছে বাংলার ক্রীড়ার চিত্রপটে। শুধু খেলোয়াড়দের সম্বর্ধনা দেওয়া নয়, গড়ে উঠছে খেলোয়াড় তৈরি হবার পরিকাঠামো। খুলে গেছে আরও নতুন খেলার দিক।

জেলার খেলাধুলোর পরিচালন ও নজরদারিতে যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া দপ্তর গুরুত্ব দিয়েছে এবং লক্ষ্য অর্জনে জেলা ও মহকুমা স্পোর্টস কাউন্সিলগুলিকে পুনর্গঠন ও কার্যকরী করে তুলেছে।

রাজ্যের ৮৩৬৩ ক্লাবকে যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া বিভাগ খেলাধুলা এবং স্থায়ী সম্পদের জন্য আর্থিক সহায়তা দান করেছে। রাজ্য পর্যায়ের স্পোর্টস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনগুলিকে প্রত্যেক খেলাধুলোর জন্যও ৫লক্ষ টাকা হারে আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া দপ্তর সুন্দরবন কাপ, হিমাল-তরাই ডুয়ার্স ক্রীড়া উৎসব আয়োজনের জন্যও পুলিশ কর্তৃপক্ষকে আর্থিক সহায়তা দান করেছে.

এই বছরে ফিফা অনূর্ধ্ব-১৭ বিশ্বকাপ আয়োজিত হবে বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গনে। তাই, আন্তর্জাতিক মানের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় রেখে বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গন এবং তার সংশ্লিষ্ট এলাকার উন্নয়ন ও সৌন্দর্যায়ণ হয়েছে। আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিযোগিতা পর্যায়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গতি রেখে সম্পূর্ণ শ্রীবৃদ্ধিসাধন, খেলার মাঠ, আলোর ব্যবস্থা, অভ্যাসের জায়গা সহায়ক সুবিধার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে।

আর্থিক কর্মসম্পাদন যা ২০১০-১১ সালে ছিল ২৯.২৯ কোটি টাকা, তা আজ ২০১৬-১৭ সালে বেড়ে হয়েছে ২৩৭.২১ কোটি টাকা।

Bengal Tourism Dept to train students to act as guides during World Cup

‘Atithi Bandhu’ or ‘Friend of Guest’ – around 200 students studying Hospitality and Tourism Management courses in Kolkata have been trained to act as such during the days of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Kolkata. Ten matches, including the final would be played in the city.

They would be guides to some of the approximately 3,000 foreign tourists expected to be in the city daily during the duration of the World Cup. This number is expected to become 10,000 per day around the days of the final.

The Bengal Tourism Department is involved in getting these students trained in Spanish, Portuguese and German – languages other than English which are expected to be the mother tongues of most of the foreign tourists – at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, as well as giving them other necessary training to turn them into effective tourist guides.

Kolkata is one of the favourite cities with foreign tourists and the grand sporting occasion is expected to act as a major boost to the number. Be it Victoria Memorial, India Museum, Kalighat Temple or the other historical and cultural sites of Kolkata, or the places linked to the lives of Mother Teresa, Rabindranath Tagore and Satyajit Ray – the three most-recognised personalities from the City of Joy – these ‘Atithi Bandhus’ or ‘Friends of Guests’ would be the ideal people to interpret the significance of these places and guide tourists through them.

Details regarding the identities of these guides – like names, e-mail addresses, etc. – as well as the cost of hiring them would be available on the website of the State Tourism Department. Tourists can contact the guides directly through the website.

This is not a one-off project though. The State Government, through the Tourism Department, is going to make ‘Atithi Bandhu’ an ever-continuing project, for foreign tourists arrive in Kolkata throughout the year; and Christmas is the next big occasion.

অতিথিকে ফুটবলের শহর চেনাবে বন্ধু

ফুটবল-মহোৎসব দেখার পাশাপাশি এবার ফুটবলের শহরটাও ঘুরে দেখবেন বিদেশি অতিথিরা। ‘পুজোর শহর’ বদলে যাচ্ছে ‘যুব বিশ্বকাপ ফুটবলের শহরে’। ফুটবল দেখতে দেখতে কলকাতাকে দেখার ইচ্ছে হলে কোনও চিন্তা নেই। আপনাকে শহর ঘুরিয়ে দেখাবে অতিথি-বন্ধু।

চিলে, ইংল্যান্ড, ইরাকের ফুটবলারেরা ইতিমধ্যেই কলকাতায় হাজির। মেক্সিকোও দু’এক দিনের মধ্যে এসে পড়বে। চার দেশের ফুটবলারদের সঙ্গেই আসছেন কয়েক হাজার সমর্থক। এই বিদেশিদের কাছে টেনে কলকাতার পর্যটনকে জনপ্রিয় করতে এখন মরিয়া রাজ্য সরকার।

রাজ্যের নতুন অস্ত্র— ‘অতিথি-বন্ধু’। এরা আসলে হসপিটালিটি এবং ট্যুরিজম ম্যানেজমেন্টের বাছাই করা শ’দুয়েক পড়ুয়া। যাদের তৈরি করা হয়েছে বিশেষ প্রশিক্ষণ দিয়ে। ‘অতিথি-বন্ধুরা বিদেশি পর্যটকদের নিয়ে যাবেন তাঁদের পছন্দসই সাবেক কলকাতার নানা জায়গায়।

অতিথি-বন্ধুরা সকলেই ইংরেজিতে স্বচ্ছন্দ। গোলপার্ক রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন থেকে স্প্যানিশ, পর্তুগিজ ও জার্মান ভাষায় কথা বলার প্রাথমিক পাঠও তাঁদের দেওয়া হয়েছে। নাম, ই-মেল আইডি-সহ অতিথি-বন্ধুদের যাবতীয় তথ্য দেওয়া থাকছে রাজ্য পর্যটন দফতরের ওয়েবসাইটে। সেখানেই যোগাযোগ করে কথাবার্তা আগাম সেরে রাখতে পারবেন বিদেশিরা। গোটা বন্দোবস্তের অবশ্যই কিছু খরচ রয়েছে। একই ভাবে সাম্মানিক পাবেন অতিথি-বন্ধুরাও।

গ্রুপ পর্বের খেলা চলার সময়ে কলকাতায় দৈনিক গড়ে ৩ হাজার পর্যটক থাকবেন। ফাইনালের সময়ে তা ১০ হাজার ছাড়াবে। এদের থাকার জন্য শহরের পাঁচতারা হোটেলগুলি সহ ধর্মতলার আশপাশের হোটেলগুলিকেও তৈরি রাখা হচ্ছে। বিশ্বকাপ শেষ হলেও অতিথি-বন্ধুদের কাজ ফুরোবে না। কলকাতায় বিদেশিদের আনাগোনা লেগেই থাকে। বড়দিনে তা আরও বাড়বে।

Trinamool Congress announces programme of protest against BJP across Bengal

Trinamool Congress General Secretary Partha Chatterjee held a press conference today to announce a state-wide programme of protest by Trinamool Congress against the BJP tomorrow, that is, October 7.

It will be against the politics of negativity being carried on by the BJP, including causing riots and indulging in destructive activities.

The protests will be staged across all the districts and in Kolkata as well, from 1 pm to 2 pm. In Kolkata, they will be staged at Dharmatala, Hazra More, Shyambazar More, Gariahat More, Garia More, Tollygunge Phanri, bus stand for route no. 14 in Behala, Sakher Bazar, Taratala More and 8B Bus Stand in Jadavpur.

He said that the protests will be held in an orderly manner to cause minimum inconvenience to the people. The Trinamool Congress believes in conducting its activities in a democratic manner.

Partha Chatterjee appealed to everyone to join this protest against those who have insulted Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee.

রাজ্যজুড়ে বিজেপির বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ কর্মসূচীর ডাক দিল তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস

আগামীকাল, ৭ই অক্টোবর রাজ্যজুড়ে বিজেপির বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ কর্মসূচীর ডাক দিলেন তৃণমূলের মহাসচিব পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়।

বিজেপি যে ধরনের বিভাজনের, দাঙ্গার ও ধ্বংসের রাজনীতি চালাচ্ছে তার বিরুদ্ধে হবে এই প্রতিবাদ।

দুপুর ১টা থেকে ২টো পর্যন্ত প্রতি জেলায় এই প্রতিবাদ চলবে আগামীকাল। কলকাতায় এই প্রতিবাদী মঞ্চ হবে ধর্মতলা, হাজরা মোড়, শ্যামবাজার মোড়, গড়িয়াহাট মোড়, গড়িয়া মোড়, টালিগঞ্জ ফাঁড়ি, বেহালার ১৪নম্বর বাস স্ট্যান্ড, সখের বাজার, তারাতলা মোড় ও যাদবপুরের ৮বি বাস স্ট্যান্ডে।

তিনি বলেছেন, এই প্রতিবাদ করা হবে শৃঙ্খলাপূর্ণ ভাবে, যাতে করে নিত্য যাত্রীদের কোনও অসুবিধার সম্মুখীন না হতে হয়। তৃণমূল দল সবসময় গণতান্ত্রিক পদ্ধতিতে নিজেদের কর্মসূচী পালন করে থাকে।

বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তথা সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের চেয়ারপার্সন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে অপমানের প্রতিবাদ হিসেবে এই কর্মসূচীতে তিনি সকল মানুষকে যোগ করবার আবেদন জানান।

বাংলার মাটিতে দাঁড়িয়ে বহু চাপান -উতোর পার করে সমাজের সর্বস্তরের মানুষকে সংঘবদ্ধ করে ২০১১-র ২০মে বাংলার ক্ষমতায় এলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়. সেই ঐতিহাসিক বিধানসভানির্বাচনে ২৭ দিনে ১৮৭ টি জনসভার মধ্যে দিয়ে বাংলার মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছান মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।সেই রাজনৈতিক সন্ধিক্ষণে বাংলায় সঠিক পরিস্থিতির বাতাবরণকে সামনে রেখে মানুষেরকাছে আবেদন করেছিলেন বাংলার পরিবর্তনের।রাজনৈতিক সন্ত্রাস,অরাজকতা ,অনুন্নয়নের বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়িয়ে উন্নয়নের বাংলা গড়ে তোলার সেই আবেদনে সাড়া দিয়ে বাংলার মানুষ মমতাবন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে বাংলার কান্ডারি হিসাবে চিহ্নিত করলেন।

বাংলার মানুষের কাছে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ হয়ে উন্নয়নের কর্মসূচি নিয়ে রাজ্যজুড়ে কন্যাশ্রী ,যুবশ্রী,খাদ্যসাথী,সবুজসাথী,জলধরো-জলভরোর মতো বিভিন্ন কর্মযজ্ঞের মধ্যে দিয়ে বাংলার মানুষের কাছেপোঁছানোর চেষ্টা করলেন।শুধু প্রকল্প রুপায়নের মধ্যে দিয়ে বাংলার মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছানোর চেষ্টা করলেন । শুধু প্রকল্প রুপায়নের মধ্যে দিয়ে বাংলার মানুষ সুফল পেতে শুরু করল ।

প্রথম পর্যায়ে ১১৬ টি প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করে সচিবালয়ের মন্ত্রীবর্গ থেকে শুরু করে আধিকারিকদের নিয়ে বাংলার গ্রামে গ্রামে পৌঁছে গেলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং সর্বস্তরের মানুষকে তার পাওনা পৌঁছে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করলেন। মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছাতে শুরু করল মা-মাটি-মানুষের সরকারের বিনামূল্যে স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবা , খাদ্য সাথীর মতো প্রকল্পের সুবিধা। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের এই কর্মকাণ্ড মানুষ উপলব্ধি করেছে বলেই ২০১৬ র নির্বাচনে যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদা দিয়েছে। আমরা মনে করি সংসদীয় গণতন্ত্রে কোন নির্বাচন এলে যে রাজনৈতিক দল ক্ষমতায় এসেছে রাজ্যের সাফল্য বা ব্যর্থতা সেই সরকারের ওপর নির্ভর করে। তাঁর উপরেই নির্বাচনে অংশ নেয় সরকার। কিন্তু আমরা প্রত্যক্ষ করলাম, ২০১৬ সালে গণতান্ত্রিক রীতিনীতি উপেক্ষা করে বিরোধী দলগুলির সঙ্গে কিছু সংবাদমাধ্যমের যোগসাজশে একদিকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে হেয় করা ও তাঁর কর্মসূচিগুলিতে বাধা দেওয়ার চেষ্টা যার মুখ্য নায়ক ছিল কেন্দ্রের ক্ষমতাসীন শাসকদল। কিন্তু আমরা বাংলার মানুষকে কুর্নিশ করি, কারণ সাত দফা নির্বাচনে তাপপ্রবাহ (৪১ ডিগ্রী) উপেক্ষা করে মানুষ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে দু হাট তুলে আশীর্বাদ করেছেন। আশীর্বাদ এমন জায়গায় পৌঁছালো যে, ২০১১ র ১৮৭ টি আসনকে অতিক্রম করে ২০১৬ তে তা ২১১ টি আসনে নিয়ে গিয়ে কেন্দ্রের শাসকদলের মুখে ঝামা ঘষে দিয়েছিল। তার পর আবারও উন্নয়নের কর্মযজ্ঞ অব্যাহত।

একের পর এক মনিষীর আত্নমবলিদানে ভারত স্বাধীন হয়েছে ১৯৪৭ এর ১৫ আগস্ট। তার পর সর্বজন শ্রদ্ধেয় ডঃ বি আর আম্বেদকার দায়িত্ব নিলেন সংবিধান কমিটির। যার ফল মানুষ পেল ১৯৫০ সালে। ভারতবর্ষের সংবিধান ভারতবর্ষকে সর্ববৃহৎ গণতান্ত্রিক রাষ্ট্র হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করেছে এবং সংবিধান মোতাবেক মানুষ পাঁচ বছর অন্তর তাদের মতামতের ভিত্তিতে ভারতের সরকার তৈরি করে। সংবিধান মোতাবেক প্রথম নির্বাচন হয় ১৯৫২ সালে। ১, ২ করতে করতে ১৬ তম নির্বাচন হল ২০১৪ সালে। সেই নির্বাচনে ভারতবর্ষের মানুষ বিজেপির নানান রকম প্রতিশ্রুতির ভিত্তিতে আশাগ্রস্ত হয়ে ভারতবর্ষের ক্ষমতায় আসীন করে। দুর্ভাগ্য ভারতের মানুষের। তবে তারা উপলব্ধি করেছে এই সরকার ও রাজনৈতিক দলের একমাত্র উদ্দেশ্য নানা অর্থনৈতিক প্রতিবন্ধকতা তৈরি করার পাশাপাশি দেশের রাজনৈতিক দলগুলিকে বিপর্যস্ত করা। একদিকে মানুষের পাওনা থেকে তাকে বঞ্চিত করে, নোটবন্দি, স্বল্প সঞ্চয়ের সুদের হার হ্রাস, ব্যাঙ্কে নাআন বাধ্যবাধকতা তৈরির মত নানা জনবিরোধী সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ে অর্থনৈতিকভাবে বিপর্যস্ত করার চেষ্টা চালাচ্ছে। ধর্মের সুড়সুড়ি দিয়ে জাতিতে জাতিতে সংঘর্ষ ঘটিয়ে সামাজিক বিভাজন ঘটানোর চেষ্টা করে যাচ্ছে, যা সংবিধান বহির্ভূত। আগ্রাসী ভূমিকা নিয়েছে এই রাজনৈতিক দল।

বাংলা সহ ভারতের রাজনৈতিক লড়াইয়ে তাই ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ রাজনৈতিক দলগুলি জোটবদ্ধ হওয়ার প্রচেষ্টা শুরু করেছে। কোথাও কোথাও খামতি যদি মনে হয়, তাতেও মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে সামনে রেখেই সংবদ্ধ দলগুলি আগামিদিনে গণতান্ত্রিক ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ ভূমিকা নেবে। আর তৃণমূল নেত্রীর প্রতিবাদী কণ্ঠ সোচ্চার বলেই তিনি পেরেছেন ২১ জুলাই দলের মহতি সভা থেকে সাম্প্রদায়িকতা ভারত ছাড়োর ডাক দিতে। সেখান থেকে মেদিনীপুরের সভায়। সেখান থেকে আওয়াজ তুলে ভারতের সমস্ত প্রান্তে পৌঁছে দেওয়ার কাজ শুরু করলেন। নির্যাতন যত বেশি হবে এই আওয়াজ তত তীব্র হবে। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সংকল্প বাংলার মানুষের সমর্থন নিশ্চিতভাবে আগামিদিনে ভারতবর্ষ ব্যাপী ছড়িয়ে দেবে এই আওয়াজ – সাম্প্রদাকিতা ভারত ছাড়ো।

এই সম্পর্কে বলা যায়, ভারতের সর্বস্তরের মানুষের সমর্থন নিয়ে সাম্প্রদাকিতা ভারত ছাড়ো স্লোগান দিয়ে মানুষ ২০১৯ এ লোকসভায় হাজির হবে। এবং আমত্রা নিসচিত ২০১৯ এ সর্বস্তরের, সর্বজাতের, সর্বপেশার মানুষ সংগবদ্ধ হয়ে সাম্প্রদায়িকতাকে হটিয়ে ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ সরকার গঠন করবে, নেতৃত্বে অবশ্যই মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তাই আমাদের ভূমিকা আরও কঠিন। লড়াই আরও শক্ত মনে হলেও পথ প্রশস্ত। আগামি দিনের সর্বস্তরের মানুষকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে মানুষের পাশে থেকে সার্বিক উন্নয়ন, আমাদের এই কর্তব্য পালন করে যেতে হবে। সবরকমভাবে বাংলার মানুষ অত্যন্ত সক্রিয়। তারা উপলব্ধি করেন তাই মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বাংলার ৯ কোটি মানুষের মধ্যে সাড়ে ৬ কোটি ভোটার আর আড়াই কোটি পরিবারের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে খাদ্যসাথীর মত প্রকল্প নিয়তে পারে না। মানুষ তার উন্নয়নের ছোঁয়া পান। আমাদের তৈরি হতে হবে সাম্প্রদায়িকতা হটিয়ে ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ সরকারের দিকে।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated several community Durga Pujas this week. She started inaugurating from the day before Mahalaya.

The Chief Minister inaugurated Ekdalia Evergreen, Hindustan Park, Behala Natun Dal, Ajay Sanhati, Naktala Udayan Sangha, Jodhpur Park 95 Pally, Ahiritola Durgotsav, Santoshpur Sarbajonin, Sreebhumi Sporting Club and several other pandals.

Like every year, this year too she drew the eyes of Ma Durga – called ‘chokkhudan’ (‘gifting the eyes’) in Bengali, which is a crucial ritual of Durga Puja – at Chetla Agrani Club.

The Chief Minister has appealed to the Puja committees to maintain tight security at the pandals so that people can enjoy the sights and sounds in an orderly and peaceful manner.

বিভিন্ন পুজো মণ্ডপের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

এই সপ্তাহে বিভিন্ন পুজো প্যান্ডেলের উদ্বোধন করেন মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। মহালয়ার আগের দিন থেকে পুজো উদ্বোধনে ব্যস্ত মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।
একডালিয়া এভারগ্রিন, হিন্দুস্তান পার্ক, বেহালা নতুন দল, অজয় সংহতি, নাকতলা উদয়ন সংঘ, যোধপুর পার্ক ৯৫পল্লী, ঐতিহ্যবাহী আহিরিটোলা দুর্গোৎসব, সন্তোষপুর সর্বজনীন, শ্রীভুমি স্পোর্টিং ক্লাব সহ আরও অনেক পুজোর উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

প্রতি বছরের মত, এবারও তিনি চেতলা অগ্রণী ক্লাবে মা দুর্গার চক্ষুদান করেন।

উৎসবের দিনগুলোতে পুজো প্যান্ডেলগুলিতে কঠোর নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা, শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতি বজায় রাখার জন্য পুজো কমিটিগুলোকে বিশেষ আবেদন জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
