The West Bengal Tourism Department, in a bid to attract tourists, is planning to set up the fourth ropeway in the State, between Rajabhatkhawa village and Buxa Fort in Kalchini block, Alipurduar district. It will be the second ropeway service for tourists in north Bengal, after the one in Darjeeling.

In recent times, the Tourism Department has taken initiatives to set up ropeways in Mukutmanipur in Birbhum district and in the Ayodhya Hills in Purulia district, the latter a part of Jangalmahal.

Once the ropeway service connecting Buxa Fort becomes functional, 14 villages in that area will be befitted from the increased tourist footfalls.

Incidentally, the historic Buxa Fort has been attracting much more tourists after road networks were revamped by the present Government.

অযোধ্যা, মুকুটমণিপুর, দার্জিলিং পাহাড়ের পর এবার রাজ্যের চতুর্থ রোপওয়ে তৈরি হতে চলেছে জনপ্রিয় পর্যটন কেন্দ্র বক্সাতে৷ পর্যটনে নতুন দিশা আনতে এবার আলিপুরদুয়ারের কালচিনি ব্লকে বক্সা ফোর্টে চালু হচ্ছে রোপওয়ে।

এই রোপওয়ের মাধ্যমে রাজাভাতখাওয়া গ্রামকে বক্সা ফোর্টের সঙ্গে যুক্ত করবে।

কালচিনি ব্লকের রাজাভাতখাওয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের সান্তলাবাড়ি থেকে বক্সা কোর্ট পর্যন্ত রাস্তারও আমূল সংস্কার ও বক্সা কোর্টের ঠিক পাশেই পর্যটকদের থাকার জন্য আধুনিক লজ নির্মাণ হবে৷ এ কথা জানালেন পর্যটনমন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব৷

সম্প্রতি রাজ্য পর্যটন বিভাগ জঙ্গলমহলের মধ্যে মুকুটমণিপুর এবং অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ে রোপওয়ে চালু করার জন্য উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে।

একবার এই রোপওয়ে চালু হয়ে গেলে ১৪টি গ্রাম সহ এলাকার সকলে এবং পর্যটকরা যথেষ্ট উপকৃত হবে।

উল্লেখ্য,বর্তমান সরকার সড়ক পথ তৈরি করার পর বক্সা ফোর্ট তার ঐতিহাসিক ঐতিহ্যের জন্য পর্যটকদের কাছে যথেষ্ট আকর্ষণীয় হয়ে উঠেছে।

With less than 50 days to go for Durga Puja, West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation Limited (WBTDCL) has unveiled a host of packages for tourists wanting to experience one of India’s biggest festivals.

Fifteen packages have been unveiled by WBTDCL covering Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata, on the outskirts of Kolkata and in north Bengal, and a cruise package and one for immersion trips.

The first tour is scheduled for September 30, on the occasion of Mahalaya.

There are three tours within Kolkata named Udbodhani, covering some of the grandest built pandals (pre-Puja whole-night tours on October 5, 6 and 7), and Sanatani-I and Sanatani-II, covering the Durga Pujas in the erstwhile zamindar households (morning tours on October 8, 9 and 10 for both I and II).

Another set of tours covers the traditional Durga Pujas on the outskirts of Kolkata. The different tours are Hooghly Safar, Rarbanger Puja-I, Rarbanger Puja-II, Surul Rajbari in Birbhum, Kashim Bazar Rajbari in Murshidabad and Bijaya Package to Bishnupur, covering the period from October 8 to October 13.

The various north Bengal tours are North Bengal Puja Package-I (pujas of Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar Rajbari), North Bengal Puja Package-II (pujas of Jalpaiguri and Malbazar, and forest safari in Medhla) and North Bengal Puja Package-III (same as the package-II), from October 8 to October 10.

Besides these, there is a cruise package consisting of Durga Puja on board along with cultural programmes. There are morning and evening trips from October 7 to October 11.

There are also two trips covering the grand spectacles of the immersions of the idols at Babughat (two trips on October 13).

For some of the trips there are options of AC and non-AC buses, and some of the packages include lunch or dinner.

দুর্গাপুজো উপলক্ষে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের ভ্রমণ প্যাকেজ

দুর্গাপুজোর আর ৫০ দিনও বাকি নেই। ইতিমধ্যেই পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন উন্নয়ন কর্পোরেশন লিমিটেড (WBTDCL) একটি বিশাল প্যাকেজের ব্যবস্থা করেছে।

পনেরো প্যাকেজের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন উন্নয়ন কর্পোরেশন লিমিটেডের তরফে। কলকাতা, কলকাতার উপকণ্ঠে এবং উত্তরবঙ্গের পুজো প্যান্ডেল মিলিয়ে মোট ১৫ টি প্যাকেজ রয়েছে। এর সঙ্গে একটি সমুদ্রভ্রমণ প্যাকেজ এবং একটি প্রতিমা বিসর্জন ভ্রমণের প্যাকেজও রয়েছে।

মহালয়া উপলক্ষে, প্রথম সফর নির্ধারিত হয়েছে ৩০ সেপ্টেম্বর।

কলকাতার মধ্যে তিনটি ট্যুর হবে যার নাম উদ্বোধনী,(৫,৬ ও ৭ অক্টোবর সারা রাত) সনাতনী-১, সনাতনী-২, এর সঙ্গে দেখানো হবে জমিদার বাড়ির পুজোগুলোও (৮,৯ ও ১০ অক্টোবর সকালে)।

এছাড়া কলকাতার বাইরে ঐতিহ্যবাহী দুর্গা পুজোগুলিরও একটি প্যাকেজ রয়েছে। সেগুলি হল হুগলী সফর, রাঢ়বঙ্গের পুজো-১, রাঢ়বঙ্গের পুজো-২, বীরভূমের সুরুল রাজবাড়ি, মুর্শিদাবাদের কাসিম বাজার রাজবাড়ী এবং বিষ্ণুপুরে বিজয়াপ্যাকেজ রয়েছে। ৮অক্টোবর থেকে 13 অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত এই ভ্রমণগুলির সময় নির্ধারণ হয়েছে।

উত্তরবঙ্গের বিভিন্ন ট্যুর প্যাকেজ রয়েছে। যেমন-উত্তরবঙ্গ পূজা প্যাকেজ-১ (জলপাইগুড়ি ও কোচবিহার রাজবাড়ির পূজো)  উত্তরবঙ্গের পূজা প্যাকেজ -২ ও উত্তরবঙ্গ পূজা প্যাকেজ -৩ (জলপাইগুড়ি ও মালবাজার, এবং মেধলার ফরেস্ট সাফারি) ৮ অক্টোবর থেকে ১০ অক্টোবর এর সময় নির্ধারিত হয়েছে।

এসবের পাশাপাশি, একটি ক্রুজ প্যাকেজ ও রয়েছে এবং সেখানে বিভিন্ন সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের ব্যবস্থা থাকবে। ৭ থেকে ১১ অক্টোবর প্রতিদিন সকাল ও সন্ধ্যায় ট্রিপ হবে।

এছাড়া ১৩ অক্টোবর বাবুঘাটে প্রতিমা বিসর্জনেরও দুটি ট্যুর প্যাকেজ রয়েছে।

কিছু কিছু ট্রিপের ক্ষেত্রে এসি ও নন এসি বাসেরও অপশন আছে এবং প্যাকেজের মধ্যে লাঞ্চ বা ডিনার অন্তর্ভুক্ত।

The West Bengal Tourism Department is taking initiatives to set up ropeways in Mukutmanipur in Bankura and Ayodhya Hills in Purulia.

State Tourism Minister Gautam Deb said that already initial steps have been taken for the project. Purulia is being projected as a prime tourist destination; a tourism information centre is also being set up there.

A day-care centre is also being set up in Ayodhya Hills to facilitate the tourists, along with watchtowers and cottages, the Minister said. A branch of the State Tourism Development will also be opened at the district administrative building, he said.

বাঁকুড়ার মুকুটমণিপুর জলাধার এবং পুরুলিয়ার অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ে রোপওয়ে চালু করছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন দপ্তর।

রাজ্যের পর্যটন মন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব জানান, ইতিমধ্যেই প্রকল্পের প্রাথমিক কাজ শুরু হয়ে গেছে। পুরুলিয়ায় একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পর্যটন কেন্দ্র গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে। পুরুলিয়ার সৌন্দর্য আরও ভাল ভাবে পর্যটকদের সামনে তুলে ধরার জন্য আমরা অযোধ্যায় পরিকাঠামোর উন্নয়নে জোর দিচ্ছি।

অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ের নীচে পুরুলিয়া পাম্প স্টোরেজ প্রকল্পের লোয়ার ড্যাম থেকে পাহাড়ের উপর আপার ড্যাম অবধি প্রায় আট কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ হবে রোপওয়েটি, এর জন্য বরাদ্দ খরচের পরিমাণ ১০ কোটি টাকা।

অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ে ৪ টি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার তৈরি করা হবে। পুরুলিয়া জেলাশাসকের দপ্তরে খোলা হবে ট্যুরিজম ইনফরমেশন সেন্টার। এছাড়া, অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে পর্যটকদের জন্য চালু হবে ডে-কেয়ার সেন্টার।

The State Tourism Department will set up a tourism hub in Bhorer Aalo, formerly known as Gajoldoba, in North Bengal, the State Tourism Minister, Goutam Deb, said on Wednesday.

He called this the biggest such hub in the country and said that the estimated cost of the project would be around Rs 300 crore, of which Rs 200 crore would be spent to improve the infrastructure. The total area of the hub is 208 acres.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had renamed the area Bhorer Aalo. Tourists can enjoy the sight of Kanchenjungha on a bright sunny day, the rivers Teesta and Torsa, and the beautiful forests.

The place is likely to be a major tourist destination in the State by 2017. Development will be carried out in phases, Goutam Deb said. A star hotel will also come up. There will be a mini golf course and facilities for adventure sports, including rafting on the river Teesta.

 

৩০০ কোটি টাকায় একটি পর্যটন হাব তৈরি হবে গাজলডোবায়

রাজ্য পর্যটন বিভাগ একটি পর্যটন হাব গঠন করবে যার নাম ‘ভোরের আলো’। এটি তৈরি হবে উত্তরবঙ্গের গাজলডোবায়। বুধবার পর্যটন মন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব একথা জানান।

তিনি জানান, এটি দেশের বৃহত্তম পর্যটন হাব। এই প্রকল্পের জন্য বরাদ্দ খরচের পরিমান প্রায় ৩০০ কোটি টাকা। যার মধ্যে ২০০ কোটি টাকা পরিকাঠামো উন্নত করার জন্য ব্যয় করা হবে। এটি তৈরি হবে ২০৮ একর জমির ওপর।

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এই এলাকার নামকরণ করেছেন ‘ভোরের আলো’। পর্যটকরা রোদজ্জ্বল দিনে তিস্তা, তোর্সা নদী, বন জঙ্গলের সঙ্গে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘার অপরূপ দৃশ্য উপভোগ করতে পারবেন।

২০১৭ সালের মধ্যে এই জায়গাটি একটি জনপ্রিয় পর্যটন স্থানে পরিণত হবে। গৌতম দেব জানান, উন্নয়নের ধারা অব্যাহত থাকবে। একটি হোটেলও এবং একটি মিনি গলফ কোর্সও তৈরি হবে।

Ever since she assumed office in 2011, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been focusing on boosting the tourism infrastructure of the State. Thanks to her manifold initiatives, the State Government has now put its best foot forward to woo tourists, both domestic and foreign.

According to the latest report by the Union Ministry of Tourism, Bengal registered positive growth in both domestic and foreign tourist visits in 2015.

West Bengal improved its position among the States, moving up to fifth, with 1.49 million foreign tourists visiting the State in 2015.

Since 2011, the West Bengal Government has taken several steps to improve the tourism infrastructure of the State, with special initiatives being taken for the safety and comfort of tourists. Focus has been laid on eco-tourism as well as on homestays. Lasting peace in the Hills and in the Jangalmahal region has also added to the increase in the footfall of tourists. The Government has also actively participated in various national and international tourism fairs.

 

পর্যটনের বিকাশ ঘটছে বাংলায়, বলছে জাতীয় রিপোর্ট

২০১১ সালে প্রথমবার ক্ষমতায় আসায় পর থেকেই পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় রাজ্য পর্যটনের পরিকাঠামোর উপর বিশেষ জোর দিয়েছেন। জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে থেকে পর্যটকদের আকৃষ্ট করতে নানাবিধ উদ্যোগ  নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

কেন্দ্রীয় পর্যটন মন্ত্রালয়ের সর্বশেষ প্রতিবেদন অনুযায়ী, ২০১৫ সালে দেশী এবং বিদেশী পর্যটনে বিকাশ ঘটেছে  পশ্চিমবঙ্গে।

অন্যান্য রাজ্যের মধ্যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের অবস্থান উন্নত হয়েছে, বর্তমানে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ তালিকার পঞ্চম স্থানে। ২০১৫ সালে এই রাজ্যে প্রায় ১.৪৯ মিলিয়ন বিদেশী পর্যটক এসেছেন।

২০১১ সাল থেকে, পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার রাজ্য পর্যটনের পরিকাঠামো উন্নত করার জন্য পর্যটকদের নিরাপত্তা ও সব রকম সুযোগ সুবিধার জন্য বিশেষ পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করেছে। ইকো-ট্যুরিজমের পাশাপাশি হোম স্টে–র ওপরও জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে। জঙ্গলমহল এবং পাহাড়ে এখন শান্তি বিরাজমান। জঙ্গলমহলে পর্যটক আকর্ষণ বাড়াতে বিভিন্ন ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে বিভিন্ন পর্যটন মেলায় সরকার সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করছে।

Two thousand rooms and increasing, home stays are the new craze for tourists visiting north Bengal. Home tourism in Darjeeling Hills is set to get another boost. The State government has decided to promote organic farming in areas promoting home stays.

The move is also aimed to streamline the services and to have a data base on home stay facilities and to categorise them as per their standard. The concept started during the last Commonwealth Games in Delhi to provide world class services to tourists and to supplement the availability of accommodation in the metros and tourist destinations.

Home stays have become very popular in remote tourist destinations in Dooars and Darjeeling hills where many unemployed youths and families have made them their main source of income.

“There are more than 2,000 home stay rooms and the number is increasing rapidly,” said Goutam Deb, West Bengal tourism minister. “The State government will religiously and seriously promote home stays. We will also promote organic farming in the areas coming up with home stay facilities. Organic food would be another attraction,” said the Minister.

 

উত্তরবঙ্গে হোম-স্টে পর্যটনে নতুন উদ্যোগ রাজ্যের

দার্জিলিঙের হোম ট্যুরিজম একটি নতুন দিশা পেতে চলেছে। উত্তরবঙ্গ পরিদর্শনে আসা পর্যটকদের জন্য ২০০০ এর বেশি হোম ষ্টে রুমের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে। হোম স্টে প্রমোট করার পাশাপাশি চারপাশের এলাকায় জৈব চাষ করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

দার্জিলিং আর ডুয়ার্সের পাহাড়ের প্রত্যন্ত এলাকাগুলিতে হোম ষ্টে পর্যটকদের কাছে ভীষণ ভাবে জনপ্রিয় হয়ে উঠেছে এবং এগুলি এখানকার বেকার যুবক ও তাদের পরিবারগুলির আয়ের প্রধান উৎস।

রাজ্যের পর্যটন মন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব বলেন, “এখনও পর্যন্ত ২০০০ এর বেশি হোম ষ্টে রুম আছে এবং এর সংখ্যা আরও বাড়ানো হবে”।

তিনি আরও জানান, “রাজ্য সরকার অত্যন্ত গুরুত্ব সহকারে হোম ষ্টে-র উন্নয়নের উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে। হোম ষ্টে ফেসিলিটির সঙ্গে জৈব চাষের ক্ষেত্রেও জোর দেওয়া হবে। অরগ্যানিক ফুড হবে আরেকটি আকর্ষণ”।

The West Bengal Government is giving its tourism pitch a makeover, with a new catchline and a new video. Bengal brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan and actor-turned-Trinamool MP Dev feature in the video that will be shown at cinemas and multiplexes, on TV channels, and will be uploaded on YouTube.

The catchline has been changed to ‘Experience Bengal – The Sweetest Part of India.’ Preparations are on in full swing to launch the campaign soon.

After being elected for a second term with overwhelming majority, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that tourism remains one of her top priorities.

The new film, that is ready to go on air, has been shot for an international audience.

Shooting took place in prominent tourist spots of the state – from Darjeeling and the Dooars in the north to Bolpur, Digha and the Sunderbans in the south.

 

বাংলার পর্যটন শিল্পের প্রসারণ 

একটি নতুন ক্যাচ লাইন ফিল্ম ভিডিওর সঙ্গে পর্যটনক শিল্পে এক অভূতপূর্ব পরিবর্তন আনতে চলেছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য সরকার।

বাংলার ব্র্যান্ড অ্যাম্বাসাডর শাহরুখ খান এবং অভিনেতা ও তৃণমূল সাংসদ দেব রয়েছেন এই ভিডিওতে। সিনেমাটি দেখানো হবে মাল্টিপ্লেক্স, টিভি চ্যানেলে, এছাড়া ইউটিউবেও আপলোড করা হবে।

ফিল্মটির ক্যাচ লাইন পালটে রাখা হয়েছে – ‘Experience Bengal – Sweetest Part of India’. খুব শীঘ্রই প্রচারপ্রস্তুতি শুরু হবে তাই পুরদমে কাজ চলছে।

In recent times, the West Bengal Government has been turning many old palaces into heritage hotels. The palaces being located in picturesque spots is an added benefit.

The State Tourism Department has done commendable job in this respect. All the heritage hotels have a very high occupancy rate, especially during the weekends.

The heritage project at the Jhargram Palace, in Jhargram in Paschim medinipur district, that threw open its gates in November last year, has been a huge hit. The Rs 8-crore project has been 80% occupied ever since.

Several other palaces are being developed into heritage hotels for tourists. Mahishadal Rajbari in Purba Medinipur district is one of them. A tourism complex is being constructed on the 60 acres of the palace, at an investment of Rs 20 crore.

Similar development of the Chilkigarh Rajbari, 15 km from Jhargram, is in the pipeline too.

All the above are being developed by the State Tourism Department. The department is also promoting other such projects which are being developed by their owners.

The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led government has been very active in promoting West Bengal as a tourists’ paradise. A new Tourism Incentive Policy – 2015 has been introduced, covering concepts like eco tourism, home tourism and tea tourism.

Work on iconic projects like Gajoldoba Mega Tourism Project, Jharkhali Eco Tourism Project and Sabujdweep Eco Tourism Project, in PPP mode, is on in full swing. Home tourism in the Ayodhya Hills region of Purulia distrcit and in other places has become very popular. The innovative Tea Tourism Policy has been framed in order to generate local employment and augment local income by using the lands of tea gardens where tea plantation is not possible.

A lot of tourist infrastructure has been created in North Bengal and in the Sundarbans under the Trinamool Congress Government.

The tourist potential of the grand festival of Durga Puja has been recognised for the first time by the present government and it is being promoted in a major way. The State Tourism Department has also been very active in participating in major tourism fairs and conclaves all over the world and in India too, to promote West Bengal as, as the marketing slogan of the department says, ‘the sweetest part of India.’

 

আকর্ষণীয় পর্যটন স্থান হিসেবে তৈরি হয়েছে বিভিন্ন হেরিটেজ হোটেল

 

ইতিমধ্যেই পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার অনেক পুরনো জায়গায় বেশকিছু হেরিটেজ হোটেল তৈরি করেছে। জায়গাগুলি যেন ছবির মত সুন্দর করে সাজানো হয়েছে। এক্ষেত্রে রাজ্য পর্যটন দপ্তর যথেষ্ট প্রশংসনীয় কাজ করেছে। প্রত্যেকটি হোটেলেই সপ্তাহের শেষে যথেষ্ট লোক সমাগম হয়।

পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলার ঝাড়গ্রাম রাজবাড়ির গেট খোলা হয়েছে গত বছর নভেম্বর মাসে। ৮ কোটি টাকার এই প্রকল্পের প্রায় ৮০% সম্পন্ন হয়ে গেছে।

পর্যটকদের জন্য আরও বেশ কিছু হেরিটেজ হোটেল তৈরি করা হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে আর একটি হল পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার মহিষাদল রাজবাড়ি। এটি তৈরি হয়েছে ৬০ একর জমির ওপর এবং এতে বরাদ্দ অর্থের পরিমাণ ২০ কোটি টাকা।

চিলকিগড় রাজবাড়িরও যথেষ্ট উন্নয়ন হয়েছে, সেখানে ঝাড়গ্রাম থেকে প্রায় ১৫ কিমি পাইপলাইন তৈরি হয়েছে।

সব কটি উন্নয়নই হয়েছে রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্যোগে। পর্যটন দপ্তর আরও বেশ কিছু উন্নয়নমূলক কাজ করার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে।

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বাধীন পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার পর্যটন উন্নয়নে যথেষ্ট গুরুত্ব দিয়েছে। ২০১৫ সালে একটি নতুন ট্যুরিজম ইনসেনটিভ পলিসি তৈরি করা হয়েছে যার মধ্যে রয়েছে ইকো ট্যুরিজম, হোম ট্যুরিজম এবং টি ট্যুরিজম।

পিপিপি মডেলের গাজোলডোবা মেগা ট্যুরিজম, ঝড়খালি ইকো ট্যুরিজম, সবুজদ্বীপ ইকো ট্যুরিজম প্রজেক্ট গুলির কাজ পুরদমে চলছে। পুরুলিয়া জেলা ও অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ের বিভিন্ন পর্যটন স্থান গুলিও যথেষ্ট গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস নেতৃত্বাধীন সরকার উত্তরবঙ্গে ও সুন্দরবনে অনেকগুলি পর্যটন পরিকাঠামো গঠন করেছে।

The state government has planned a travel mart from February 26 to February 28 to bring tourism stakeholders from across the country to West Bengal for the first time.

This will be the first time such a tourism event will be organised in the state, where industry officials, businessmen and tour operators would gather for business-to-business meetings, seminars, sessions, cultural dos and familiarisation trips so that people coming from outside the state – most of them being prominent tour operators who send tourists to Bengal – can know more about the region.

The event, which is expected to bring around 100 delegates – both from across the country and some from other countries too – is being organised by the Tourism and the North Bengal Development Departments of the state.

The Eastern Himalayan Travel and Tour Operators’ Association, which is the largest body of travel industry agents in North Bengal, is in charge of the legwork for the mart.

North Bengal Development Minister Gautam Deb said, “Our principal aim is to showcase Bengal as an ideal tourist destination before domestic and international tourists. Those working in the tourism sector will participate in the travel mart and would be apprised of the tourist destinations, cultural heritage, unique features, and culinary and other attractions of our state.”

 

উত্তরবঙ্গে রাজ্যের প্রথম ট্রাভেল মার্ট

পর্যটন শিল্পকে দেশের কাছে তুলে ধরতে এই প্রথম রাজ্য সরকার ‘বেঙ্গল ট্রাভেল মার্ট’ আয়োজন করছে।

শিলিগুড়ির মৈনাক হোটেল কমপ্লেক্সে বসছে এই ট্রাভেল মার্ট। এটি শুরু হচ্ছে ২৬ শে ফেব্রুয়ারি এবং চলবে ২৮ শে ফেব্রুয়ারি পর্যন্ত। দেশের ২০টি শহর থেকে ১০০টি পর্যটন সংস্থা এই ট্রাভেল মার্টে অংশগ্রহণ করছে।

নেপাল, ভুটান,বাংলাদেশ, রাশিয়া ও জাপানের বাণিজ্যিক প্রতিনিধিরা উপস্থিত থাকবেন এই অনুষ্ঠানে। প্রায় ১০০ জন ট্যুর অপারেটর উপস্থিত থাকবেন এই ট্রাভেল মার্টে। ১২টি রাজ্যের প্রায় ২০টি শহরের ১০০ জন ট্যুর অপারেটর উত্তরবঙ্গের পর্যটনকে বিশ্ববাসীর কাছে তুলে ধরবেন।

উত্তরবঙ্গ উন্নয়ন দপ্তর এবং পূর্ব হিমালয় ট্র্যাভেল ও ট্যুর অপারেটরস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন যৌথভাবে শিলিগুড়িতেই রাজ্যের প্রথম ট্রাভেল মার্ট উদযাপন করবে।

উত্তরবঙ্গ উন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব বলেন, বিশ্বের কাছে উত্তরবঙ্গের পর্যটনকে তুলে ধরার সমস্ত প্রয়াস নেওয়া হয়েছে এই বেঙ্গল ট্রাভেল মার্টে। এর ফলে বাংলার পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলির জনপ্রিয়তা আরও বৃদ্ধি পাবে।

The West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation (WBTDC) is working on plans to launch houseboat services at different places in the Sunderbans and in the creeks from the Hooghly in East Midnapore district to boost back water tourism in West Bengal, based on the model of Kerala.

The West Bengal Chief inister Mamata Banerjee has been giving stress to develop tourism infrastructure across the state. The State tourism department has been working to identify new places and boost the infrastructure at existing tourism spots.

WBTDC is expected to procure eight maintenance-free fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) house boats for the Sunderbans and the water bodies East Midnapore district. The house boats should comprise of two bed rooms with attached bath and toilet facilities along with a conference room with sitting arrangements for 20 persons. A bar, kitchen, restaurant, lounge and four bedded rooms along with an open space will al so be available onboard.

The objective is to provide the house boats and bring upon a Kerala like house boat model.

The WBTDC authorities are working on the process to invite online bids from reputed house boat fabricators for drawing, design, development, fabrication and delivery of the house boats. The firm who will be selected for the job will need to obtain the drawing and design approval and the necessary clearances for fabrication of the house boats from government agencies and departments concerned.

A proposal for financial approval has also been sent to the Centre for procuring two cruisers on the Hooghly River. The plan is to have budget category cruise tourism on the Hooghly. The concept is that the tourists should be able to visit the heritage sites along the river side.

The tourism department is also working on the tourism circuit plan stretching from Jangalmahal area to Sagar islands.

 

সুন্দরবনে ‘হাউস বোট’ পরিষেবা চালু করতে চলেছে রাজ্য সরকার

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন নিগম পশ্চিমবঙ্গের জলপথ ভ্রমণ আরও জনপ্রিয় করতে সুন্দরবন ও পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের হুগলী নদীর খারি থেকে ‘হাউস বোট’ চালু করার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে।

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সারা রাজ্যের পর্যটন শিল্পের ওপর জোর দিচ্ছেন। রাজ্য পর্যটন বিভাগ পর্যটনের নতুন স্থান খোঁজা এবং পর্যটন স্থান গুলিকে আরও আকর্ষণীয় করে তোলার ওপর কাজ করছে।

সুন্দরবন ও পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের জলপথের জন্য পর্যটন নিগম ৮ টি বিশেষ ফাইবার সম্বলিত প্লাস্টিক হাউস বোট কিনতে চলেছে। হাউস বোট গুলিতে ২ টি শোবার ঘর, বাথরুম, এবং ২০ জনের বসার একটি ঘরের ব্যবস্থা থাকবে। বার, রান্নাঘর, রেস্টুরেন্ট এবং ৪ টি শোবার ঘর সহ একটি খোলা জায়গার ব্যবস্থা ও থাকবে বোট গুলিতে।

কেরালার আদলে হাউস বোট টি তৈরির করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে।

হুগলি নদীর ওপর ২টি প্রমোদতরি তৈরির আর্থিক অনুমোদন চেয়ে একটি অনুরোধ পত্রও পাঠানো হয়েছে কেন্দ্রের কাছে। কম খরচেও যাত্রীরা এই বোটে ভ্রমণ করতে পারবেন। পর্যটকরা যাতে নদীর পাড় থেকেই ঐতিহ্যপূর্ণ জায়গাগুলি পরিদর্শন করতে পারে এটাই মূল উদ্দেশ্য।

রাজ্যের পর্যটন বিভাগ জঙ্গলমহল থেকে সাগর দীঘি পর্যন্ত ট্যুরিজম সার্কিট পরিকল্পনার ওপর কাজ করছে।
