MSME: Marching ahead in Bangla

Bangla is a leading state in the country in micro, small and medium enterprises. The multi pronged strategy and continuous innovative interventions of the State Government during the last seven years towards promotion of MSME focusing on inclusive growth have resulted in significant achievements in MSME sector.

Some of the notable achievements are mentioned below:

  • Among the top rankers in Ease of Doing Business in India, Highest number of MSME establishments (52.7 lakh) in organised (ie., registered) and unorganised (ie., unregistered) sectors, contributing 11.62% of the total MSME establishments in India employing 1,09,15,626 people
  • 28,008 units on an average registered per year between 2011-18, compared to 12,192 units between 2004-11
  • Average of 2,09,108 people employed per year between 2011 and 2018 in registered MSME sector, compared to a yearly average of 1,29,904 people between 2004 and 2011
  • 381 clusters established as in 2017, against 49 clusters as inn 2011
  • Average bank credit flow per year to MSME sector of Rs 24,272 crore between 2004 and 2011, compared to Rs 7,302 crore per year between 2004 and 2011
  • 20 industrial parks being developed under Scheme of Approved Industrial Parks and TexPro Bengal
  • More than 65,000 entrepreneurs provided services on filing udyog Aadhaar registration and disposing of statutory approvals
  • 13 Synergy events organised at State and regional-level, guiding and providing spot solutions on statutory and business requirements to over 50,000 entrepreneurs
  • Rs. 1,500 crore worth business proposals received from Hill Business Summit 2018 held in Darjeeling
  • Web-based services launched: statutory support – www.myenterprisewb.in, financial support – www.msmebengalinvest.in, technology support – www. msmetfc.in,
  • 1,47,500 entrepreneurs visited and took help of web-based tutorial at www.myenterprisewb.in

‘Synergy’ meet organised to boost MSMEs in Hills

On the heels of the two-day long Hill Business Summit, a “Synergy” meet was organised in Darjeeling by the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).

Proposals amounting to a sum of around Rs 9 crore have been submitted by different enterprisers in the micro and small sector.

“Synergy”, a one stop destination provides logistical support to MSMEs by providing single point contact; scheme procedures; schemes for startups; upgradation of existing old industries; know how on formation of industrial cooperatives and market access.

Stalls were put up by different departments under the State Government and the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration including MSME, Land, Labour, Power, Fire and Emergency Services, Finance, Tourism, Horticulture. Around 200 entrepreneurs visited.

 

পাহাড়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হল ‘সিনার্জি’ বৈঠক

দার্জিলিং পাহাড়ে উত্পাদিত চকোলেট, নুডলস, ঝাড়ু সহ অন্যান্য সামগ্রী বিশ্ব বাংলা স্টলের পাশাপাশি বিভিন্ন শপিংমলের বিপণনকেন্দ্রে রেখে বিক্রিতে রাজ্য সরকার ব্যবস্থা নেবে। এরই সঙ্গে ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসায়ীদের ঋণ পেতে যে সমস্ত সমস্যা তৈরি হচ্ছে সেগুলিরও দ্রুত সমাধান করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন ক্ষুদ্র ও কুটিরশিল্প বিভাগের ডিরেক্টর।

দার্জিলিঙে স্থানীয় উদ্যোগপতিদের নিয়ে ‘সিনার্জি’ নামে আলোচনা সভায় তিনি জানান, পাহাড়ের ছোটো উদ্যোগপতিদের তৈরি জিনিসপত্র বিক্রিতে ‘এক জানালা’ ব্যবস্থা চালুর চেষ্টা চলছে। এই বৈঠকে ৯ কোটি টাকার লগ্নি প্রস্তাব এসেছে।

ক্ষুদ্র-মাঝারি শিল্পের জন্য ‘এক জানালা’ ব্যবস্থার মাধ্যমে সব পরিষেবা প্রদানই হল সিনার্জি বৈঠকের লক্ষ্য। বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পের প্রক্রিয়া সম্বন্ধে তথ্য থেকে শুরু করে, স্টার্টআপগুলির জন্য কি কি প্রকল্প আছে সেই সম্বন্ধে তথ্য দেওয়া হয় সিনার্জিতে। তাছাড়া, পুরোনো শিল্পের আপগ্রেড, শিল্প সমবায় তথা মার্কেট এক্সেস সম্বন্ধেও জানা যায় এখানে।

পাহাড়ের ‘সিনার্জি’’ বৈঠকে রাজ্য সরকার ও জিটিয়ের বিভিন্ন দপ্তর স্টল দিয়েছিল। উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রায় ২০০ জন উদ্যোগপতি।

MSME sector in north Bengal – Marching Ahead

The West Bengal Government led by Ms Mamata Banerjee has taken several initiatives to speed up the process of industrialisation in North Bengal. From grants to providing services, the government has helped a multitude of small and medium enterprises in the region.

Initiatives like Siliguri Synergy, Synergy Gourbanga, Unique Clearance Centre, Finance Clinic, Statutory Compliance Centres and Technology Facilitation Centre along with various Chambers of Commerce have helped the MSME sector to grow in north Bengal.

 

Some of the initiatives of the WB Govt are listed below:

  • During Synergy Siliguri and Synergy Gourbanga investment proposals to the tune of Rs 1612 crore were received
  • All land related problems solved
  • All statutory compliances done
  • Problems relating to ground water drainage taken care
  • Bank loans worth more than Rs 1700 crore given to MSME sector during April-December, 2014
  • 200 acre of land identified for industrial purposes
  • 29 clusters formed
  • Progress in establishing comprehensive handloom sector
  • Various handicraft centres recognised by UNESCO to be brought under cultural tourism circuit
  • For the first time the Govt will train individuals to become entrepreneurs with training in finance, corporate management, technology and other related subjects
  • B2B and B2G sessions conducted to create an international partnership
