Fair price shops across the city will sell onions from today to make the vegetable available to the common people at a reasonable price.

“Onions will be available at all the 935 fair price shops at Rs 59 per kg per family from Monday in Kolkata.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had instructed the state government’s supply chain and sales point known as Sufal Bangla to market onions at a maximum of Rs 59 per kg.

The state government will not only subsidise the price of onion but also bear the cost of transportation, distribution and losses in transit.

Riding on the success of the Sufal Bangla project, the State Agricultural Marketing Department has decided to set up rice and pulse mills. The products from the mills would be available at the Sufal Bangla stalls.

Rs 7 crore has been allotted for the purpose. The first phase would be completed before the Pujas, whence two rice and pulse mills each would be opened at Hemtabad in Uttar Dinajpur and at Ranaghat in Nadia district.

The mills would help preserve the quality of the famous aromatic rice varieties of Bengal, like adanshilpa, tulaipanji, gobindobhog, randhuni pagal, radhatilak, etc. and pulses. The tie-up with Sufal Bangla would enable the State Government to directly sell to the people some of these rare varieties of folk rice, making them widely available and at the right price too (no middlemen involved).

The production of pulses is also rapidly increasing in the State, especially moong, musoor, Bengal gram and khesari. These would be milled at the mill in Ranaghat.

The State Government’s hugely popular ‘Sufal Bangla’ chain of grocery-and-fish stalls are now going to come up with restaurants now. Nutritious and delicious food – dal, rice and vegetables – will be served at affordable prices. Sufal Bangla is run by the Agricultural Marketing Department.

The first such food outlet would be started in Tarapith in Birbhum district, in a newly-created market.

Tarapith has been chosen to start with because it is a very popular pilgrimage site. Thousands, and during certain periods of the year, lakhs of devotees visit the temple there. They will be able to satisfy their hunger with cheap but wholesome and cleanly prepared food.

The rice, fruits and vegetables available at Sufan Bangla stalls are sourced directly from farmers. So with this system in place, more can be sourced from farmers, increasing their incomes.

According to an official of the Agricultural Marketing Department, even after selling, in many places, every day, there are some quantities always in excess. That would be put to use now. Ghee would be served along with rice, according to this official. Superior varieties of rice like gobindobhog, tulaipanji, kalonunia, randhunipagla and radhatilak would be available too.

In a move expected to draw much appreciation, the State Government has decided to make available aromatic varieties of rice like Gobindobhog and Tulaipanji at prices 20 to 25 per cent less than the market rates at selected stalls across Bengal.

The special price rice would initially be available at the Sufal Bangla stalls, which are run by the State Government, and later from the various public distribution scheme (PDS) outlets, better known as ration shops.

The service is expected to begin soon after this year’s Durga Puja or some time early next year.

Gobindobhog is grown in certain areas of Purba Bardhaman district while Tulaipanji is grown in certain areas of Uttar and Dakshin Dinajpur districts.

The Bengal Government had applied for and was successful in getting geographical indication (GI) tags for both types of rice at the initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

রসনাপ্রিয় বাঙালির জন্য সুখবর। বাংলার দুই সেরা সুগন্ধী চাল গোবিন্দভোগ ও তুলাইপঞ্জি সস্তায় সাধারন মানুষের হাতে তুলে দেবে রাজ্য সরকার। এবছরে পুজোর পর বা আগামী বছরের শুরুতে বাজারদরের অন্তত ২০ থেকে ২৫ শতাংশ কম দামে রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন স্টলে বিক্রী করা হবে এই চাল। প্রথমে সুফল বাংলার স্টল ও পড়ে রেশন দোকান মারফত বিক্রী করা হবে এই চাল।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী উদ্যোগ নেওয়ার পর কৃষি বিজ্ঞানী ও আধিকারিকদের কাছ থেকে ফলন বাড়ানো ও আনুসাঙ্গিক প্রক্রিয়া নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছেন রাজ্যের কৃষিমন্ত্রী।
তুলাইপঞ্জি মূলত উত্তর দিনাজপুরের রায়গঞ্জ মহকুমা ও দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুরের একটি অংশে উৎপাদিত হয়। উত্তরবঙ্গের আরও কিছু এলাকায় এই চালের উৎপাদন করা যেতে পারে বলে কৃষি বিজ্ঞানীদের মতে। সেক্ষেত্রে ফলন অনেকটাই বাড়বে।

তেমনই গোবিন্দভোগ চাল মূলত পূর্ব বর্ধমানের রায়না-১ ও ২ নম্বর ব্লক ও খণ্ডকোষে খুব ভালো উৎপাদন হয়। এই পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলারই আউশগ্রাম, মন্তেশ্বর, জামালপুর ছাড়িয়ে অনেকটা দূর পর্যন্ত এই চাল ফলন করা যেতে পারে বলে মনে করেন বিজ্ঞানীরা। এছাড়া, হুগলী, নদীয়া, বীরভূম, দুই ২৪ পরগনা, হাওড়াও এই চাল উৎপাদনের জন্য উপযোগী বলে মনে করছেন তারা। বাঁকুড়া, পুরুলিয়াতেও চাল তৈরীর প্রক্রিয়া চলছে।

প্রসঙ্গত, এই দুই চালের পেটেন্ট নিয়ে রেখেছে রাজ্য সরকার।

To make determination of the quality of aromatic rice and pulse varieties the Bengal Government buys from farmers to be sold at the fair-price Bangla outlets across the state standardised and hence, foolproof, the Agricultural Marketing Department has decided to take the help of technology.

E-nose technology would be introduced at the government’s state-of-the-art quality control laboratory in Singur to ensure the quality of aromatic rice varieties. As an official of the department explained, different varieties of aromatic rice have different aromas – for example, Kalo Nunia has a mild smell while Gobindobhog is known for its strong smell. What was done till now by humans would, to ensure uniformity, soon be taken over by technology.

Another technology named Pulse View will be introduced at the Singur laboratory for assessing the quality of pulse. According to the Agriculture Department official, vegetables, rice and pulses will all be tested in the laboratory before being sent to the Sufal Bangla outlets in the city.

The aim is to ensure that only the best products are sold at these State Government outlets. In this connection, it needs to be mentioned that recently the number of Sufal Bangla outlets were increased – 22 mobile stalls were set up, adding to the existing 16 permanent and 29 mobile stalls.

The State Agriculture Department is encouraging farmers to cultivate forgotten varieties of aromatic rice like Radha Tilak, Kala Bhat, Dudheshwar, Hamai, Jhumpuri, Khara and Balam, to name a few, with technical support from the government’s agricultural training centre in Phulia in Nadia district, and is chalking out plans to create a market for them.

Natural methods are being encouraged to be used to grow these varieties as the use of chemicals to enhance production will, in the long run, badly affect the environment, including the quality of the soil.

 

সুগন্ধি চাল ও ডালের গুনমান বজায় রাখতে প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার করবে রাজ্য সরকার

 

সুফল বাংলা স্টলগুলিতে যে সুগন্ধি চাল ও ডাল পাওয়া যায় তা রাজ্য সরকার সরাসরি চাষিদের থেকে কেনে। এবার সেই সুগন্ধি চাল ও ডালের গুনমান যাতে দীর্ঘদিন বজায় থাকে, তার জন্য আরও সচেষ্ট হল রাজ্য সরকার। এর জন্য প্রযুক্তির সাহায্য নেবে রাজ্য সরকার।

সুগন্ধি চালের গুনমানের জন্য অত্যাধুনিক ‘ই-নোস’ প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার করা হবে সিঙ্গুরের কোয়ালিটি কন্ট্রোল গবেষণাগারে। দপ্তরের এক আধিকারিক জানান, বিভিন্ন সুগন্ধি চালে বিভিন্ন ধরনের গন্ধ থাকে। যেমন, কালো নুনিয়ার গন্ধ হালকা, গোবিন্দভোগের গন্ধ প্রবল।
চালের গুনমানের জন্য সিঙ্গুরের গবেষণাগারে ‘পালস ভিউ’ প্রযুক্তিও ব্যবহৃত হবে। এবার থেকে এই পরীক্ষার পরই সুফল বাংলার স্টলগুলিতে চাল, ডাল বা অন্যান্য আনাজ আসবে, যাতে সেরা মানের চাল, ডাল ও আনাজ পান ক্রেতারা।

উল্লেখ্য, বিভিন্ন বিরল প্রজাতির চালের চাষ বাড়াতে নানারকম উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। নদীয়া জেলার ফুলিয়ায় সরকারের কৃষি প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্রে কৃষকদের সবরকম প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদান করা হচ্ছে। জৈবিক পদ্ধতিতে এই সব চালের উৎপাদন করতে বলা হচ্ছে তাদের।

The state government is taking all possible steps to make eggs available at the government outlets of Animal Resource Development department and Sufal Bangla’s static stalls in the city.

The state has decided to sell eggs at a fixed price of Rs 6 per egg at all government stalls. Six static Sufal Bangla outlets in the city will start selling eggs from Monday.

It may be mentioned that the State Government is now focussing on becoming self-sufficient in egg production; the government has started an incentive scheme for the same.state government has given 60 lakh chicks as incentives.

ডিমের দামকে নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে পদক্ষেপ নিল রাজ্য সরকার ৷ পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের ‘সুফল’ স্টলগুলিতে ৬ টাকা দামে এবার পাওয়া যাবে ডিম ৷

সোমবার থেকেই রাজ্যের সমস্ত সুফল স্টলগুলিতে ৬ টাকা দামে ডিম মিলবে বলে জানিয়েছেন রাজ্যের কৃষি বিপনন মন্ত্রী৷

প্রাণিসম্পদ বিকাশ দফতর সূত্রে খবর, ভবিষ্যতে ডিম আমদানি কমিয়ে উৎপাদনে জোর দেওয়া হবে। ১০ হাজার মুরগির বাচ্চা পালন করলে ৮ লক্ষ টাকা ইনসেনটিভ দেওয়া হবে।

After the success of Sufal Bangla in the districts of south Bengal and in Kolkata, the State Agriculture Marketing Department is going to open Sufal Bangla outlets in Kurseong, Kalimpong and other parts of north Bengal.

Besides Kurseong and Kalimpong, Sufal Bangla stalls will also come up in Siliguri (two stalls), Jalpaiguri, Raiganj, Cooch Behar, and Alipurduar. All the stalls in north Bengal are expected to become operational by November.

It may be mentioned that the Sufal Bangla stalls have been introduced to ensure that common people get fresh vegetables at the correct price. The stalls are mainly run by different farmers’ producers’ organisations (FPOs), who collect the vegetables directly from farmers. Thus the stalls benefit farmers as well as the common people – the former because they do not need to depend on middlemen and hence get to keep the entire amount from selling their produce.

At present, there are 19 permanent Sufal Bangla stalls and 48 mobile stalls, 22 of the latter having been introduced just ahead of Durga Puja. According to an official of the Agriculture Marketing Department, during the days of the Durga Puja, the total turnover of the Sufal Bangla stalls had gone up, so much so that operators had to stock vegetables twice a day.

The Agriculture Marketing Department has set a target of establishing 100 Sufal Bangla stalls all across the state by the end of the current financial year, that is, March 2018.

 

‘সুফল বাংলা’ এবার পাড়ি দেবে উত্তরবঙ্গে

 

দক্ষিণবঙ্গে অভূতপূর্ব সাফল্যের পর রাজ্যের কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে কার্শিয়ং, কালিম্পং ও উত্তরবঙ্গের অন্যান্য জায়গায় সুফল বাংলার স্টল খোলার। স্টল খোলার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় সমস্ত পদক্ষেপ নিচ্ছে কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তর।

কার্শিয়ং, কালিম্পং-এর পাশাপাশি শিলিগুড়ি, জলপাইগুড়ি, রায়গঞ্জ, কোচবিহার, আলিপুরদুয়ারেও খুলবে সুফল বাংলা বিপণি। শিলিগুড়িতে খুলবে দু’টি স্টল। পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী নভেম্বরে এই স্টলগুলির খুলে যাওয়ার কথা।

প্রসঙ্গত, সুফল বাংলা বিপণি খোলা হয় সাধারন মানুষকে ন্যায্য মূল্যে তাজা সবজি বিক্রি করার জন্য। সরাসরি চাষিদের থেকে সবজি কিনে সুফল বাংলা কেন্দ্রে তা বিক্রি করা হয়। এর ফলে কৃষকরা তাদের ফসলের ন্যায্য মূল্যও পান।

এই মুহূর্তে, দক্ষিণবঙ্গে মোট ১৯ টি স্থায়ী এবং ৪৮ টি ভ্রাম্যমাণ সুফল বাংলা স্টল আছে। এর মধ্যে পুজোর আগে ২২ টি ভ্রাম্যমাণ স্টল শুরু করা হয়। দপ্তরের লক্ষ্য আগামী বছর মার্চ মাসের মধ্যে এই সংখ্যা ১০০ তে নিয়ে যাওয়ার।

With Durga Puja at our doorsteps, the Bengal Government has brought another good news for the people of the state. Twenty two mobile Sufal Bangla stalls were inaugurated in Kolkata and its suburbs on September 21.

The USP of the Sufal Bangla stalls is price: vegetables are available at rates cheaper than in the open market. All types of vegetables are available at these stalls, run by the Agriculture Marketing Department.

Already, 16 permanent and 29 mobile stalls have been set up under the brand of Sufal Bangla. Now, 22 more have been set up.

 

 

পূজোর আগেই নতুন ২২ স্টল সুফল বাংলার

 

উৎসবে রাজ্যবাসীর দোরগোড়ায় পৌঁছে গেল সুফল বাংলার ভ্রাম্যমাণ স্টল। দ্বিতীয়ার দিনেই এই সুখবর নিয়ে এল রাজ্য সরকার। ২১সে সেপ্টেম্বর শহর কলকাতা ও সংলগ্ন এলাকায় চালু হল ২২টি নতুন সুফল বাংলার ভ্রাম্যমাণ স্টল। ইতিমধ্যেই কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তরের ১৬টি স্থায়ী এবং ২৯টি ভ্রাম্যমাণ সুফল বাংলার স্টল চালু করা হয়েছে। রাজ্য জুড়ে ছড়িয়ে থাকা সুফল বাংলার স্টলগুলিতে বাজারের থেকে কম মুল্যে নানান ধরনের সবজি থেকে চাল, জ্যাম থেকে দই, পায়েস এমনকি নানান ধরনের মাংসও পাওয়া যাচ্ছে। পুজোর আগে ২২টি নতুন ভ্রাম্যমাণ স্টল চালু হওয়ার খবরে স্বাভাবতই খুশি সাধারন মানুষ।

এই স্টলগুলির জন্য কলকাতাকে বিভিন্ন রুটে ভাগ করে নেওয়া হয়েছে। উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ কলকাতা সহ বিধাননগর, নিউটাউন এলাকার বিভিন্ন জায়গায় সুফল বাংলার এই ভ্রাম্যমাণ স্টলগুলি ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছে।

কৃষি বিপণন মন্ত্রী বলেন, “মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর স্বপ্নের প্রকল্প হল এই সুফল বাংলা। স্থায়ী ও ভ্রাম্যমাণ স্টলগুলি থেকে যেভাবে আমরা বিপুল পরিমানে সাড়া পেয়েছি, তার থেকেই দপ্তর সর্বতোভাবে উদ্যোগী হয়েছে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশে আরও বেশী সংখ্যক মানুষ যেন সুফল বাংলার সুফল ভোগ করতে পারেন, তার জন্য আমরা সব ধরনের প্রয়াস চালাচ্ছি।”

মাদার ডেয়ারির সঙ্গেও গাঁটছড়া বেঁধেছে কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তর। সুফল বাংলার স্থায়ী ও ভ্রাম্যমাণ স্টলগুলিতে এইবার বিশেষ আকর্ষণ হিসেবে পাওয়া যাচ্ছে কোয়েলের মাংস। মুর্গীর মাংস তো থাকছেই, টার্কির মাংস, কচি পাঁঠার মাংসও এবার পুজোর বাজার মাতাবে বলে নিশ্চিত কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তরের আধিকারিকেরা।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directed members of task force to take necessary measures so that there is no rise in the prices of essential goods ahead of Durga Pujo and other festivals. She also directed several measures to reduce the gap between prices of vegetables in wholesale and retail markets.

It is learnt that the matter related to the wide gap between prices of certain vegetables in wholesale and retail market has come up during the meeting. The Chief Minister directed members of the task force to take immediate steps so that the vegetables are sold at appropriate prices.

The members have been asked to intensify their vigil in the markets in the city and other urban areas in the state. The task force had been visiting the markets in the city to keep a tab on the prices of essential goods. Now, the visit will be more frequent and steps will be taken against the traders if found selling vegetables at a premium price without any valid reason.

Potatoes are getting sold in the markets at the right prices. This year, potato cultivation in the state was quite good and there is a requirement of 36 lakh metric tonne in the state and around 8 lakh metric tonne will be exported to other states. The state government is also giving emphasis on increasing the storage capacity of onions.

At the same time, the Agriculture Marketing department has also been asked to increase the number of Sufal Bangla stalls in the state. At present there are around 50 Sufal Bangla stalls in different parts of the state and there is a target to set up more than 100 such stalls. The state government runs the Sufal Bangla stalls where mainly Farmers Producers Organisations (FPOs) directly sell their produce. People get fresh vegetables and at the right prices as there is no involvement of any middlemen.

 

মূল্য নিয়ন্ত্রণে বাজারে নিয়মিত অভিযানের নির্দেশ মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

গতকাল নবান্নে শাক সবজির বাজার দর নিয়ন্ত্রণ নিয়ে টাস্ক ফোর্সের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এদিন কৃষি, কৃষি বিপণন, মৎস্য দপ্তরের পাশাপাশি সেচ, বিদ্যুৎ এবং উদ্যানপালন দপ্তরের মন্ত্রীরাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

বন্যার সুযোগ নিয়ে কোনও ব্যবসায়ী যাতে চড়া দরে মাছ, সবজিসহ অন্যান্য নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় সামগ্রী বিক্রি করতে না পারে, তার জন্য কড়া নজরদারির নির্দেশ দিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এই নজরদারির পাশাপাশি শহর, শহরতলি এবং জেলার বিভিন্ন বাজারে নিয়মিত অভিযান চালানোর নিদানও দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

এদিনের বৈঠকের শুরুতেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানিয়ে দেন, বন্যায় সবচেয়ে দুর্ভোগে পড়া উত্তরবঙ্গের কৃষকদের সরকারি সহায়তা দ্রুততার সঙ্গে দিতে হবে। আগামী বর্ষার কথা মাথায় রেখে উত্তরবঙ্গের সমস্ত ছোট নদীগুলি ড্রেজিং করানোর নির্দেশও দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

এদিনের বৈঠকে রাজ্যের আলুর মজুত ভাণ্ডার সম্পর্কেও খোঁজখবর নেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তরের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়, রাজ্যে এখন ৪৪ লক্ষ টন আলু মজুত রয়েছে। আগামী জানুয়ারি মাসের প্রথম সপ্তাহ পর্যন্ত খাওয়ার এবং বীজ বানানোর জন্য লাগবে ৩৬ লক্ষ টন।

এছাড়াও শহরাঞ্চলে মানুষের সুবিধার জন্য সুফল বাংলা স্টল আরও বাড়ানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়। পাশাপাশি পেঁয়াজ সংরক্ষণের পদ্ধতি কিভাবে আরও ভালো করা যায় সেই বিষয়েও আলোচনা হয়।

In a prompt reply to the request of the state agriculture marketing department, eight districts’ authorities have so far extended their support by identifying plots to set up outlets of Sufal Bangla to let more people buy fresh vegetables and so that farmers get right price for their produce.

Eight districts including Burdwan, Malda, Nadia, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri and Bankura have written to the Bengal Agricultural Marketing department stating that plots have been identified where outlets of Sufal Bangla can be set up. Plots at Siliguri have also been identified.

After Trinamool Congress Government returned to the power for the second term, the agriculture marketing department had set a target of opening at least five outlets in each district. At present, there are around 30 outlets functional in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly and Birbhum.

 

আরও আট জেলায় গড়ে উঠবে ‘সুফল বাংলা’ বিপণন কেন্দ্র

রাজ্যের আরও আট জেলায় তৈরী হবে ‘সুফল বাংলা’ বিপণন কেন্দ্র। রাজ্য কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তরের অনুরোধে আটটি জেলার আধিকারিকরা জমি সংক্রান্ত বিষয়ে পূর্ণ সহযোগিতার আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন।

বর্ধমান, নদীয়া, মালদা, কুচবিহার, জলপাইগুড়ি ও বাঁকুড়ার জেলা আধিকারিকরা রাজ্য কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তরকে জানিয়েছেন সুফল বাংলার বিপণন কেন্দ্রের জন্য তারা ইতিমধ্যেই জমি পেয়ে গেছেন। শিলিগুড়িতেও উপযুক্ত জমি রয়েছে।

তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস দ্বিতীয়বার ক্ষমতায় আসার পর রাজ্য কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তর প্রতিটি জেলায় অন্তত পাঁচটি করে সুফল বাংলার বিপণন কেন্দ্র খোলার লক্ষ্যমাত্রা স্থির করেছে। কলকাতা, হাওড়া, হুগলি ও বীরভূম জেলাতে এই মুহূর্তে এইরকম ৩০টি কেন্দ্র এই মুহূর্তে চলছে।
