The State Government’s Housing Department is seeking applications for flats to be sold through its Nijashree Scheme. The lists of allottees would be determined through lotteries.

A concept of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the scheme seeks to provide houses to people in the middle-income range. This allotment would be the first of several allotments, and is meant for Asansol, Siliguri-Dabgram and Haldia.

There are two types of flats – 1 BHK and 2 BHK. The price, area and application fee are Rs 7.2 lakh, 378 square ft (sq ft) and Rs 2,500, respectively for the former and Rs 9.28 lakh, 559 sq ft and Rs 5,000, respectively for the latter.

The costs for land development, construction of roads and boundary walls, electricity lines and water supply system would not have to be borne by the buyers.

There are three primary requirements which need to be fulfilled in order to apply:

No flat in the applicant’s name or applicant’s family members’ names in the State

Applicant should be a resident of the district where the flats are located

Maximum monthly family income should be Rs 15,000 in order to apply for 1 BHK flat and Rs 30,000 for 2 BHK flat

Governor K N Tripathi has congratulated the state government for the various measures it had taken to tide over demonetisation and hasty introduction of Goods and Service tax (GST). He was addressing the MLAs at the beginning of the Budget session at the West Bengal Legislative Assembly on Tuesday afternoon.

He congratulated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for holding 350 administrative meetings and public distribution programmes across the state. He commented that with the state economy having barely recovered from the effects of demonetisation, manufacturers, suppliers, traders as well as consumers were badly hit by the introduction of GST.

But because of the leadership of Banerjee, the state could tide over these two major problems. He also mentioned that the dynamic Chief Minister strongly believes in individual freedom and has always resented any infringement on individual freedom or any compromise with the sanctity of the privacy of citizens.

He also congratulated the state government for peaceful holding of different festivals involving various communities. The Governor mentioned in his speech the great achievement of the state government, in implementing the Kanyashree project that has reached out to 45 lakh girl students. August 14 has been dedicated as Kanyashree Divas and the project has bagged the prestigious Public Service Award, given by the United Nations at its headquarters at The Hague, Netherlands.

He said through reforms in the tax collection mechanism and application of information technology, revenue collection has risen from Rs 21,128 crore to Rs 45,646 crore in just four years. Bengal is one of the few states that has surplus power generation capacity. Also, the farthest parts of the state are now connected by roads. The state government has taken up construction of infrastructure assets to the tune of Rs 12,000 crore, which will come up in the next 3-4 years and will give a huge boost to the economy.

 

বিধানসভায় রাজ্যপালের মুখে মমতার সরকারের প্রশস্তি

রাজ্যের বাজেট অধিবেশনের ভাষণে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সরকারের প্রকল্পের প্রশংসা করলেন রাজ্যপাল কেশরীনাথ ত্রিপাঠী।

এদিন রাজ্যপাল ভাষণের শুরুতেই মুর্শিদাবাদের বাস দুর্ঘটনা নিয়ে শোকপ্রকাশ করেন। পরে তৃণমূল সরকারের আনা বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পের প্রশংসাও করেন তিনি।

এদিন রাজ্যপালের প্রশংসায় উঠে আসে কন্যাশ্রীর বিশ্বজয়ের কথা। কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পে রাজ্য সরকার যে সাফল্য পেয়েছে, তা বিশ্বেও সমাদৃত হয়েছে। সেইসঙ্গে এদিন রাজ্যপাল প্রশংসা করেন রাজ্যের খাদ্যসাথী প্রকল্প, সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ, ইকো পার্ক নিয়েও রাজ্য সরকারের।

রাজ্যপালের কথায়, কলকাতায় এখন বিশ্ব সিনেমার অন্যতম প্রদর্শনী মঞ্চ। আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি নিয়েও রাজ্য সরকারের প্রশংসা করেন রাজ্যপাল। তাঁর কথায় উঠে আসে একাধিক পুলিশ কমিশনারেট গঠনের কথা। এমনকী বিশ্ববাংলা বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন নিয়েও তিনি প্রশংসায় ভরিয়ে দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে। তিনি রাজ্য সরকারের নিজস্ব প্রতীক প্রাপ্তির পাশাপাশি ফিফা বিশ্বকাপ আয়োজনের সাফল্যও তুলে ধরেন তাঁর ভাষণে।

দার্জিলিংয়ে শান্তি ফিরে আসা প্রসঙ্গেও তিনি রাজ্যের ভূমিকায় সন্তোষ প্রকাশ করেন। রাজ্যের সরকার পাহাড়ে অশুভ শক্তির বিনাশ ঘটিয়ে শান্তি ফিরিয়ে এনেছে। এক্ষেত্রেও রাজ্য সরকার সাফল্য দেখিয়েছে। সেইসঙ্গে রাজ্যের অর্থনৈতিক সাফল্যের কথাও উঠে আসে রাজ্যপালের কথায়।

In light of the recent untoward incidents in some private schools in Kolkata, the State Government yesterday issued a set of guidelines for such schools in Bengal to follow.

The guidelines were the result of a meeting between the State School Education Department and representatives of private schools.

1. All schools must put up adequate number of CCTV cameras. No area of a school, other than the bathrooms, should be outside the range of CTV cameras.

2. Girls’ schools must have adequate number of ayahs. This is particularly important for schools with male teachers to observe.

3. In school buses for girls, there must be female attendants alongside male attendants.

4. As long as there are students in a school, there must be security personnel too.

 

বেসরকারি স্কুলে অনভিপ্রেত ঘটনায় লাগাম টানতে নয়া নির্দেশিকা

সদ্য রাজ্যের কয়েকটি বেসরকারি স্কুলে ঘটে যাওয়া কিছু অনভিপ্রেত ঘটনার জেরে বেসরকারি স্কুলগুলির উপর বেশ কিছু নির্দেশিকা জারি করল রাজ্য সরকার। শিক্ষা দপ্তরের কর্তাদের সঙ্গে বেসরকারি স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষের বৈঠকে বিভিন্ন স্কুলে ঘটে যাওয়া ঘটনাগুলির পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে উৎকণ্ঠা প্রকাশ করা হয়। এই ঘটনা যাতে আগামিদিনে না ঘটে তার জন্য বেশ কয়েকটি সিদ্ধান্ত নেওযা হয়েছে।

১. স্কুলগুলিতে পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণে সিসিটিভি লাগাতে হবে। বাথরুম ছাড়া স্কুলের কোনও অংশকেই সিসিটিভির আওতার বাইরে রাখা যাবে না।

২. মেয়েদের স্কুলে যথেষ্ট পরিমাণে আয়া রাখতে হবে। বিশেষত পুরুষ টিচার রয়েছেন এমন স্কুলগুলির ক্ষেত্রে এটি বাধ্যতামূলক।

৩. মেয়েদের স্কুল বাসে এবার থেকে পুরুষের পাশাপাশি মহিলা অ্যাটেন্ডারও রাখতে হবে।

৪. স্কুলে পড়ুয়া থাকাকালীন নিরাপত্তা রক্ষীও রাখতে হবে।

The State Government is going to introduce 411 more buses, both AC and non-AC, on Bengal’s roads. This was announced by the Transport Minister in the Assembly on November 29. Both intra-city and inter-city routes will be covered. Some of these buses would also be run on environment-friendly compressed natural gas (CNG).

Of these, 156 buses would connect various towns in the districts. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had made announcements about these 156 routes during her administrative review meetings. Thakurnagar-Howrah, Memari-Kolkata and Jamalpur-Kolkata are among the new routes.

This is the latest in a series of introductions that the department has been carrying out since the last few months. Several were introduced in Kolkata prior to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup too.

Other buses to be introduced, said the Transport Minister, include 130 electric buses (of which 30 would be in the Asansol-Durgapur sector and the rest in and around Kolkata) and 20 electric buses in the township of New Town. Once charged, the electric buses would be able to run for 100 to 130 kilometres.

The Transport Minister also said that anyone wanting to run buses gets all sorts of help from the Transport Department, including loans on easy terms through the Gatidhara Scheme.

Five buses have been bought for running between Darjeeling and Mirik.

 

ডিসেম্বরে ৪১১ নতুন বাস রাস্তায় নামাবে রাজ্য

বিশ্বব্যাঙ্কের আর্থিক সাহায্যে ১৩০টি ইলেকট্রিক, পরিবেশ বান্ধব বাস নামাতে চাইছে রাজ্য পরিবহণ দপ্তর। এর মধ্যে ৩০টি বাস চলবে আসানসোল-দুর্গাপুর এলাকায়। একশোটি বৃহত্তর কলকাতায়।

বিধানসভায় প্রশ্নোত্তর পর্বে পরিবহণমন্ত্রী একথা বলেন। এর বাইরে সরকারি খরচে কেনা ২০টি ইলেকট্রিক বাস শীঘ্রই নিউটাউনে চলতে শুরু করবে। এছাড়াও, ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে আরও ৪১১টি সরকারি বাস রাস্তায় নামবে বলে মন্ত্রী বলেন। এর মধ্যে এসি এবং নন-এসি বাস রয়েছে।

পরিবহণমন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন, বিশ্বব্যাঙ্কের একটি প্রকল্পে রাজ্যে ইলেকট্রিক বাস কেনার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে। বাস প্রতি ভর্তুকি হিসেবে প্রায় ৬০ লক্ষ টাকা পাওয়া যাবে। ওই প্রকল্পের যা মাপকাঠি, তাতে শুধু দুর্গাপুর-আসানসোল ও কলকাতা মহানগরীতে এই বাস চালানো যাবে।

বাসে ইলেকট্রিক চার্জ দেওয়ার জন্য দুর্গাপুর ও কলকাতায় দুটি ডিপোকে চিহ্নিত করা হয়েছে। কলকাতায় এসপ্লানেডে ট্রাম কোম্পানির ডিপোতে ইলেকট্রিক চার্জ দেওয়ার ব্যবস্থা তৈরি করা হচ্ছে। একবার চার্জ দিলে এই বাস ১০০-১৩০ কিলোমিটার চলবে। প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাস (সিএনজি) দিয়েও পরিবেশ বান্ধব বাস চালানোর উদ্যোগ নেওয়ার কথা মন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন। যে ৪১১টি নতুন বাস কেনা হবে, তার মধ্যে সিএনজি চালিত বাসও আছে।

পরিবহণমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, রাজ্যে চলা বেসরকারি বাসের সংখ্যা ২৪ হাজার ৮৩৮। সরকারি বাসের সংখ্যা ৩০৯১। বাম আমলের তুলনায় সরকারি বাস বেড়েছে। ২০১০-১১ সালে ২৭১১টি সরকারি বাস চলত। কেউ বেসরকারি বাস নামাতে চাইলে সরকার সবরকম সাহায্য করবে। গতিধারা প্রকল্পে বাস কেনার জন্য ঋণের ব্যবস্থাও করে দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিভিন্ন জেলায় গিয়ে প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকে বেশ কিছু নতুন রুটে বাস চালানোর কথা বলেছেন। নতুন যে বাসগুলি আছে তার মধ্যে ১৫৬টি ওই রুটগুলিতে চালানো হবে।

ঠাকুরনগর-হাওড়া, মেমারি-কলকাতা, জামালপুর-কলকাতা প্রভৃতি রুটে বাস চালানোর কথা জানিয়েছেন। পাহাড়ে চালানোর জন্য নতুন পাঁচটি বিশেষ বাস কেনা হয়েছে। এই বাসগুলি মিরিক ও দার্জিলিংয়ের মধ্যে চালানো হবে। কালিম্পংয়ে ট্রাক টার্মিনাল করা হচ্ছে। মিরিকের জন্য পাঁচ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে বাস টার্মিনাল করা হচ্ছে। সাঁতরাগাছি সহ বৃহত্তর কলকাতায় অনেকগুলি বাস টার্মিনালের উন্নয়ন করা হচ্ছে। বহরমপুরে একটি নতুন বাস টার্মিনাল করার জন্য পুরসভাকে টাকা দেওয়া হয়েছে। উত্তরবঙ্গ রাষ্ট্রীয় পরিবহণ সংস্থা ছাত্রদের কম ভাড়ায় যাতায়াতের জন্য স্মার্ট কার্ড চালু করেছে। অন্য দুটি সরকারি পরিবহণ সংস্থাকে এরকম ব্যবস্থা করতে বলা হয়েছে।

The Bengal Government has recently set up safety and security monitoring committees in government-run and government-aided schools, one of whose primary objectives is to treat cases of bullying with special importance.

Through this measure, the government has made it clear that it would not tolerate any form of bullying in schools. The government wants all schools in the state to ensure that no student suffers (and the suffering can often lead to serious consequences, both physical and psychological) due to bullying.

According to a senior official of the School Education Department, if incidents of bullying occur, the school needs to take firm steps. A report on the steps taken has to be then submitted to the government.

The Education Department plans to compile these reports and use the expertise gained to develop a policy for tackling bullying in the near future.

 

স্কুলে বুলিং-এর বিরুদ্ধে করা পদক্ষেপ রাজ্যের

রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্যোগে সরকার চালিত ও সরকারি অনুদান প্রাপ্ত স্কুলগুলিতে চালু হয়েছে নিরাপত্তা পর্যবেক্ষণ কমিটি। এই কমিটির প্রধান উদ্দেশ্য স্কুলে স্কুলে বুলিং-এর ঘটনাগুলি গুরুত্ব সহকারে দেখা।

এই পদক্ষেপের সঙ্গে সরকার পরিষ্কার বার্তা দিয়েছে, স্কুলে কোনওরকম বুলিং-এর ঘটনা বরদাস্ত করা হবে না। রাজ্য সরকার চায় রাজ্যের কোনও স্কুলে কোনও পড়ুয়া বুলিং-এর জন্যও কোনও রকম মানসিক বা শারীরিক যন্ত্রণার স্বীকার না হয়।

স্কুল শিক্ষা দপ্তরের এক আধিকারিকের কথায়, স্কুলে বুলিং-এর কোনও ঘটনা ঘটলে কড়া পদক্ষেপ নিতে হবে। কি পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হয়েছে, তা রিপোর্ট করে সরকারকে পাঠাতে হবে।
শিক্ষা দপ্তর এই রিপোর্ট গুলি একত্র করে পরিকল্পনা তৈরি করতে চায় যাতে ভবিষ্যতে এরম ঘটনা আর না ঘটে।

In the changing technology-driven times, it is imperative to focus on building schools which can adapt to the change in teaching methods. The Bengal Government has realised this and so is helping schools adopt digital technology in a major way.

According to a senior official of the School Education Department at a recent seminar, the State Government believes that technology should have a greater presence in future schools.

Towards that end, the government has developed 4,000 e-classrooms in 2,000 secondary schools. Under the government’s ICT (information and communication technology) programme, 3,915 secondary schools have been provided with 39,300 computers in the last five years.

Also, the State Government is asking its schools to lay more emphasis on multi-disciplinary learning. The system should involve, along with studies, sports, art and extra-curricular activities.

রাজ্যের স্কুলগুলিতে ডিজিটাল পরিকাঠামোতে উৎসাহ সরকারের

আজকের এই ডিজিটাল যুগের সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে পাল্টাচ্ছে শিক্ষাদানের পদ্ধতিও। চিরাচরিত পঠনপাঠনের মাধ্যমের বাইরে গিয়ে এবার রাজ্যের স্কুলগুলিতে ডিজিটাল পরিকাঠামো আরও উন্নত করতে উদ্যোগী সরকার।

সদ্য-অনুষ্ঠিত এক সেমিনারে স্কুল শিক্ষা দপ্তরের এক আধিকারিক বলেন, রাজ্য সরকার চায় ভবিষ্যতের স্কুলগুলিতে আরও বেশী করে ডিজিটাল প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহৃত হোক।

রাজ্য সরকার ইতিমধ্যেই ২০০০টি মাধ্যমিক স্কুলে ৪০০০টি ই-ক্লাসরুম তৈরি করেছে। গত পাঁচ বছরে রাজ্য সরকারের আইসিটি কর্মসূচীর অধীনে ৩৯১৫টি স্কুলে ৩৯৩০০টি কম্পিউটার প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

To ramp up the production of eggs in Bengal, both chicken and duck, the State Government’s Animal Resources Development (ARD) Department is taking several measures.

The latest among them are the setting up of two chicken farms in Kalyani in Nadia district and in Barjora in Bankura district at a combined cost of Rs 60 crore. Then, a chicken farm in Boromoholla in Birbhum district is being renovated to augment production. At Labhpur in Birbhum district, the department is setting up a duck farm.

According to sources in the ARD Department, about 2.5 crore eggs, including chicken and duck, are required daily in the state. To ensure that the state produces the required number, various measures are being taken to encourage people to set up chicken and duck farms. All these are outlined in the Incentive Policy 2017 for poultry farmers that the ARD Department has chalked up. For augmenting production on the basis of this policy, the Finance Department has allotted Rs 2015 crore.

As part of the policy, the department is providing subsidy to the extent of Rs 80 lakh for people working towards augmenting egg production.

A person who will be producing 10,000 birds (chicken or duck) will get an incentive of upto Rs 8 lakh. Among other incentives are the requirement for only part payment of the electricity bill for farm owners, discount on the loan repayment amount and removal of stamp duty. The result of these measures, according to the ARD Department, is the submission of applications for setting up 43 poultry farms.

The government is distributing young chickens and ducklings to farmers and rural self-help groups across the state. During the current financial year (2017-18), 60 lakh young chickens will be distributed. Of this number, 12 lakh will be distributed among almost 7,000 self-help groups (SHG). West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation is primarily responsible for implementing these decisions.

 

ডিমের জন্য ৬০ কোটির দুই খামার রাজ্যের

রাজ্যে ডিমের জোগান ও চাহিদার ফারাক কমাতে এ বার রাজ্য সরকারই শুরু করছে বাণিজ্যিক উৎপাদন। কল্যাণী ও বাঁকুড়ার বড়জোড়াতে মুরগির খামার তৈরি করতে ষাট কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করছে প্রাণিসম্পদ বিকাশ উন্নয়ন নিগম। ওই দু’টি খামার থেকে প্রতিদিন সাড়ে পাঁচ লক্ষ করে ডিম পাওয়া যাবে।

এ রাজ্যে প্রতিদিন ডিমের প্রয়োজন হয় আড়াই কোটির মতো। সংগঠিত ও অসংগঠিত পোলট্রি মিলিয়ে দেড় কোটির মতো ডিম পশ্চিমবঙ্গ থেকেই পাওয়া যায়। বাকি এক কোটির ঘাটতি মেটাতে দক্ষিণ ভারত থেকে ডিম আমদানি করা হয়।

প্রাণিসম্পদ বিকাশ দফতর সূত্রের খবর, নতুন ভর্তুকি নীতিতে শর্তসাপেক্ষে মুলধনী অনুদান ৮ লক্ষ টাকা ছাড়াও মেয়াদি ঋণের উপরে সুদে ভর্তুকি, বিদ্যুৎ মাসুলে আংশিক মকুব এমনকী স্ট্যাম্প ডিউটিতেও ছাড় দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

সরকার জেলায় জেলায় মুরগির বাচ্চা বিতরণ শুরু করেছে। চলতি অর্থবর্ষে (২০১৭-’১৮) ৬০ লক্ষ মুর্গীর বাচ্চা দেওয়া হবে। প্রায় সাত হাজার স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীকেও প্রায় ১২ লক্ষ মুরগি ও হাঁসের বাচ্চা দেওয়ার পরিকল্পনা করা হয়েছে। তার সঙ্গে রাজ্য সরকার আর্থিক ভর্তুকি দেওয়ার কথা ঘোষণা করায় ইতিমধ্যেই নতুন ৪৩টি পোলট্রি গড়ার প্রস্তাব জমা পড়েছে। প্রকল্পগুলি বাস্তবায়িত হলে তাতেও কমপক্ষে ৩৫ লক্ষ মুরগি থাকবে। সব মিলিয়ে এর ফলে ঘাটতি পুষিয়ে যাবে বলে আশা করছে রাজ্য।

This winter sweet-lovers are in for a real treat. The Bengal Government and Mother Dairy (now owned by the State Government) are together creating a branded nolen gurer payesh that is, rice pudding with nolen gur flavouring, an eternal favourite among Bengalis.

The rich payesh would be made with gobindobhog rice, cashews, raisins and cardamom; and instead of sugar there would be nolen gur, which is available only during the winter months.

The venture would also manufacture normal payesh, made with sugar. Nolen gurer payesh would be priced at Rs 25 per cup, and the sugar payesh at Rs 20.

শীতের মরসুমে বাজারে আসছে নলেন গুড়ের পায়েস

রসগোল্লার জিআই রেজিস্ট্রেশনের পর ফের মিষ্টি প্রেমী বাঙালিদের জন্য সুখবর। গতবারের পর ফের এবার শীতের মরসুমে বাজারে আসছে মাদার ডেয়ারির নলেন গুড়ের পায়েস।

জন্মদিন হোক বা ঠাকুর পুজো, এলাচের গন্ধ ওয়ালা দুধ ও গোবিন্দভোগ চাল দিয়ে তৈরি এই দেবভোগ্য খাবার পাতের পাশে স্বমহিমায় হাজির থাকে ৷ এর সঙ্গে নলেন গুড়ের যুগলবন্দি হলে তো কথাই নেই ৷ বাড়িতে বাড়িতে এই নলেন গুড়ের পায়েস ছিল শীতকালের খাবার মেনুর সেরা আকর্ষণ ৷ পুরনো দিনের সেই স্বাদ নিয়েই মাদার ডেয়ারি ফের হাজির করেছে নলেন গুড়ের পায়েস ৷ হেঁশেলের রেসিপি থেকেই তৈরি হয়েছে এই পায়েস ৷

ডিসেম্বর থেকেই মাদার ডেয়ারি ও বিভিন্ন সরকারি স্টলে মিলবে এই পায়েস। পায়েসের দাম রাখা হয়েছে পঁচিশ টাকা। চিনি দিয়ে তৈরি পায়েসের দাম রাখা হয়েছে ২০ টাকা। জানিয়েছেন প্রাণী সম্পদ বিকাশ মন্ত্রী।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed the desire of the Bengal Government to acquire the house in London where Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore had lived, and convert it into a museum-cum-memorial to the world-famous poet and writer.

Mamata Banerjee expressed the State Government’s desire during a meeting with the Indian High Commissioner in London.

Tagore had lived at No. 3, Heath Villas in Hampstead Heath, north London, for a few months in 1912 while he translated his collection of poems, Gitanjali, for which he went on to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.

The Chief Minister is in London for a week-long tour of the United Kingdom (UK). She unveiled the Blue Plaque at the house in London where Sister Nivedita lived for some time, which is awarded by British Heritage to places in need of conservation. She is next scheduled to hold a series of meetings in London and then in Scotland with potential investors, with an eye on the Bengal Global Business Summit 2018, to be held next January.

Incidentally, Tagore’s home has already been awarded the Blue Plaque, the inscription on which reads: Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) Indian poet stayed here in 1912.

লন্ডনের রবীন্দ্রস্মৃতিধন্য বাড়ির দায়িত্ব নিতে চায় রাজ্য সরকার। উত্তর লন্ডনের যে বাড়িতে বসে গীতাঞ্জলীর ইংরেজি তর্জমা করা হয়েছিল, সেই বাড়িটিকে রবীন্দ্র স্মারক সংগ্রহশালায় রূপান্তরিত করতে চান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বর্তমান ব্রিটেন সফরেই ব্রিটেনে ভারতীয় রাষ্ট্রদূতের সঙ্গে দেখা করে এই ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। হ্যামস্টেট হিথের ৩নং বাড়িটিতে ১৯১২ সালে কয়েক মাস কাটিয়েছিলেন রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর। গীতাঞ্জলীর ১০৩ টি কাব্যের ইংরেজি অনুবাদ করে তা পাঠানো হয়েছিল নোবেল কমিটির কাছে। ১৯১৩ সালে রবীন্দ্রনাথ নোবেল পুরস্কার পান। এরপর ১৯৩১ সাল পর্যন্ত রবীন্দ্রনাথ বেশ কয়েকবার কাটিয়েছেন তাঁর প্রিয় লন্ডন হাউসে। সেই হিসেবে এই বাড়িটির ঐতিহাসিক গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম।

রাজ্য সরকার এই বাড়িটিকে কিনে রবীন্দ্র সংগ্রহশালা করতে চায়। এই সম্পত্তির মূল্য ২.৭ মিলিয়ন পাউন্ড। উল্লেখ্য, বাড়িটি ইতিমধ্যেই ‘ব্লু প্লাক’ মর্যাদা পেয়েছে।

The Bengal Government has decided to put into service 300 new buses, including electric buses, from December 1.

The service will start in phases. Both AC and non-AC buses are among the 300. The buses will be operated by all the three government-run transport companies – West Bengal Transport Corporation, North Bengal State Transport Corporation and South Bengal State Transport Corporation.

In the first phase, electric buses in Rajarhat and New Town and 156 other buses – on 156 routes, in both rural and urban areas – will start operating.

Among the 156 routes are eight new routes formulated by the Transport Department between Darjeeling and Mirik. This would give a major push to the transport infrastructure in the Hills region. These routes have been created considering the demand and needs of people residing there, according to the State Transport Minister.

Another initiative is to run mini buses on the Bardhaman- Durgapur-Asansol route. Other routes have been conceived taking into consideration connecting tourist spots of the state, among them being Motijheel, Hazarduari and Darjeeling.

 

৩০০টি নতুন বাস চালাবে রাজ্য সরকার

আগামী পয়লা ডিসেম্বর থেকে নতুন ৩০০টি বাস চালানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। এর মধ্যে থাকবে এসি, নন এসি, ইলেকট্রিক বাসও।এই পরিষেবা পর্যায়ক্রমে চালু হবে।

রাজ্য সরকারের তিনটি পরিবহণ সংস্থা – পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পরিবহণ নিগম, উত্তরবঙ্গ রাষ্ট্রীয় পরিবহণ সংস্থা ও দক্ষিণবঙ্গ রাষ্ট্রীয় পরিবহণ সংস্থা – এই বাসগুলি চালাবে।

প্রথম পর্যায়ে রাজারহাট ও নিউটাউনে ইলেকট্রিক বাস পরিষেবা চালু হবে। সাথে শহরাঞ্চল ও গ্রামবাংলার ১৫৬ টি রুটে আরও ১৫৬ টি বাস চলবে।

এই ১৫৬ টি নতুন রুটে রয়েছে দার্জিলিং ও মিরিক-এর ৮ টি রুট যার ফলে পাহাড়ে পরিবহণ ব্যবস্থা উন্নত হবে। এই রুটগুলি ওখানকার স্থানীয় মানুষদের কথা মাথায় রেখে তৈরি করা হয়েছে। পাশাপাশি বর্ধমান-দুর্গাপুর-আসানসোল রুটে মিনি বাস চালানোর উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে।অন্য রুটগুলি তৈরি করা হয়েছে রাজ্যের পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলির কথা মাথায় রেখে।
