Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Pawan Chamling today called on Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Uttarkanya. They had a meeting regarding the issues involving the Darjeeling Hills and Sikkim.
After the meeting, the Chief Ministers addressed the press. Here’s what they said.
Chief Minister of Sikkim:
- We will work together for the development of Sikkim and Bengal, specially Darjeeling Hills.
Our discussion was on developmental issues. The misunderstandings are a thing of the past. We will work together for a better future.
Chief Minister of Bengal:
- Bengal and Sikkim are neighbouring States. Bengalis love to visit Sikkim. We must work together for development.
- We will sort out the differences and we will work together. Past is past. Now, we will work together for development. Bengal will give support to Sikkim, and they will give support to us.
- We will invite Mr Chamling to the next business summit in the Hills. We will also request the GTA to work in close cooperation with Sikkim.
- We welcome the court verdict (on Bimal Gurung). We will continue to work for the people.
- We want both Sikkim and Bengal to prosper.
- Chamling ji has invited me to Sikkim and I will definitely visit the State. I have also invited him to visit Kolkata.
উন্নয়নের স্বার্থে একযোগে কাজ করবে বাংলা ও সিকিম
আজ উত্তরকন্যায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সাথে বৈঠক করেন সিকিমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রী পবন চামলিং। দার্জিলিং ও সিকিম সহ পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের উন্নয়ন নিয়ে আলোচনা হয় বৈঠকে।
বৈঠক শেষে দুই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হন।
পবন চামলিংয়ের বক্তব্য:
- বাংলা, বিশেষ করে দার্জিলিং অঞ্চল, এবং সিকিমের উন্নয়নের জন্য আমরা একসাথে কাজ করব।
- আজকে উন্নয়ন নিয়েই আলোচনা হয়েছে। ভুল বোঝাবোঝি সব এখন অতীতের কথা। উন্নততর ভবিষ্যতের জন্য আমরা একসাথে কাজ করব।
মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের বক্তব্য:
- আমাদের দুটি রাজ্য একেবারে পাশাপাশি। আমাদের রাজ্যের মানুষরা সিকিম যেতে ভালবাসেন। আমরা চাই দুটি রাজ্যের মধ্যে ভালো বোঝাপড়া হোক।
- দুটি রাজ্য একসঙ্গে যদি কাজ করে, উন্নয়ন আরও বেশী হতে পারে, আরও তাড়াতাড়ি হতে পারে। আমাদের মধ্যে যেসব ছোটখাটো সমস্যা ছিল, তা আমরা মিটিয়ে নেব। আমরা সকলে একসঙ্গে কাজ করব। এটা একটা ভালো যোগসূত্র তৈরী হয়েছে। এতে দুটি রাজ্য আরও কাছে এসছে। বাংলা সিকিমকে ও সিকিম বাংলাকে সাহায্য করবে।
- পরের বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে আমরা সিকিমকে আমন্ত্রণ জানাব। জিটিএ কে বলব, কথা বলে সিকিমের সঙ্গে নিজেদের সম্পর্ক ভালো করার।
- আমরা বিমল গুরুঙ্গের ব্যাপারে কোর্টের রায়কে স্বাগত জানাই। আমরা পাহাড়ের জন্য কাজ করে যাব।
- আমরা একসঙ্গে কাজ করছি। আমরা চাই দুই রাজ্যেরই উন্নতি হোক।
- সিকিমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আমায় সিকিমে যাওয়ার জন্যও আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়েছেন, আমিও তাঁকে কলকাতা আসার আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়েছি।
