Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a number of developmental projects for Purba Medinipur district in Nandakumar today.

She inaugurated road projects, a youth hostel, a bus depot, a new jetty, a renovated heritage park in Haldia, as well as flagged off a night-time bus service on the Mecheda-Haldia route. The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for a bouquet of projects in the district and distributed various benefits.

After the inaugurations, she gave a speech, the salient points of which are given below:

 

• Our government works for the people – protecting them is our duty. After Jammu and Kashmir, which is a small state with less population, Bengal has defeated all other states and is lowest in the infant mortality rate again this year. This has been possible because medical colleges along with neonatal intensive care units have been set up in each district. The state is spending large amounts for providing free treatment for its people, which very few states do.

• Bengal is ahead in many aspects and has to reach the number one spot again. For this, we need cooperation from the Centre. But despite a court order, CRPF troops have not been dispatched to Darjeeling. We will still have to stop all trouble with our lives.

• Why should there be malice, misinformation and conspiracy against a government? Both the central and state governments are elected by the people. Then why should the former conspire against the latter? We want an answer — they will have to give an answer.

• Central forces like the SSB and the BSF are manning the borders. How are they allowing people to come in? After opening the borders, they are using outsiders in a pre-planned manner to foment riots. And then they are conspiring to ask the State Government for an explanation. Despite all this scheming, we have managed to maintain peace among the people. And for achieving this, I would like to thank the Maa-Mati-Manush of Bengal.

• Bengal is the seat of culture. Bengal will not accept malice, conspiracy or divisive mentality.

• The people of Bengal will not tolerate the fact that some people are turning Facebook into ‘Fakebook’ by posting fake pictures and fake news for their political ends. We respect Facebook, but not any ‘Fakebook’. An incident in Comilla in Bangladesh is being passed off as having occurred in Bengal, and a clip taken from a Bhojpuri film is being shown as having taken place in this state.

• They are sometimes rioting, and at other times indulging in arson – this seems to be their only work. We pledge that we won’t let such things happen here. And for this, we will stay united.

• Bengal will not tolerate such activities. Unity is harmony, unity is solidarity. Don’t be fooled by their machinations, be careful of them, and do not be a part of their conspiracies.

• I saw from a video clip that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP, a sister organisation of the BJP) is giving arms training to women in Assam. Handling arms and ammunition is the work of the administration. So how can the VHP indulge in this? I can challenge them that it is illegal to do this. They want to wreak havoc on the country and destroy it.

• Those who make use of their education, intelligence and self-sacrifice to stand by the people are true political leaders. Those who have no ideals or vision, those who pit one person against the other, can never become political leaders.

• I appeal to all to save India from disaster. Don’t destroy democracy. Let people live like true human beings.

• The State Government will do all the real hard work, and on the other hand, they (the Centre) will set people against people and foment riots, and then go on foreign trips as if nothing happened.

• The people’s accounts in banks have still not normalised even months after ‘note bandi’. And now GST is being foisted on the people. This is a big corruption. From workers to farmers to everyone else – darkness has befallen all lives.

• Rules are being made which say that food won’t be distributed to those without Aadhaar cards, and even to children till nine years. They are destroying the country like this.

• Our State Government will extend all help to encourage industry. Let Bengal march forward, let people progress. Those in their youthful years now are the ones who will build this country in the future. Keep religious unity, and peace, harmony and solidarity. Bengal will walk the path of development – this is our solemn resolve.

• A lot of developmental work has been done in this region. Power plants have also been set up here. More investment will come to Haldia.

• My warm wishes to everyone here. Stay good, stay happy. Let peace prevail.

 

 

বাংলা কুৎসা, চক্রান্ত, ভাগাভাগি মেনে নেয় না: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

 

সোমবার পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলা সফরে গেলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিন দিনের সফরে নন্দকুমার এবং দীঘায় জোড়া সভা এবং প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করলেন তিনি।

আজ বিকেল ৪টেয় ১১৬বি জাতীয় সড়কের নন্দকুমারের চৌরাস্তা মোড়ে প্রথম প্রকাশ্য প্রশাসনিক সভা করলেন তিনি। আজ সড়ক প্রকল্প, বাস ডিপো, হলদিয়ায় হেরিটেজ পার্ক, একটি নতুন জেটি, মেচেদা-হলদিয়া বাস পরিষেবা সহ একগুচ্ছ প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এছাড়াও বেশ কিছু প্রকল্পের শিলান্যাসসহ এবং অনেকের হাতে সরকারী পরিষেবা তুলে দিলেনন।

মঙ্গলবার বিকেলে দ্বিতীয় সভা করবেন নিউ দীঘার পুলিস হলিডে হোম ময়দানে। বুধবার বিকেলে আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে ওল্ড দীঘায় বিদ্যুৎ দপ্তরের বাংলোয় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করবেন। ১৩ তারিখ সকালে কলকাতায় ফিরবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

 

পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরে বক্তব্য রাখলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তাঁর বক্তব্যের মূল অংশঃ-

• আমাদের সরকার মানুষের কাজ করে। মানুষকে রক্ষা করাই আমাদের কাজ।  জম্মু কাশ্মীরে লোকসংখ্যা খুবই কম, ও রাজ্যটি খুবই ছোট। সেই জম্মু কাশ্মীরের পর পশ্চিমবঙ্গ আবারও এই বছর রেকর্ড করেছে সব থেকে কম শিশু মৃত্যুর হারে। এই সবই সম্ভব হয়েছে প্রতি জেলায় মেডিক্যাল কলেজ ও সদ্যোজাতদের জন্য ইন্টেন্সিভ কেয়ার ইউনিট তৈরির ফলে। এরাজ্য বিপুল পরিমানে অর্থ ব্যায় করে বিনামুল্যে চিকিৎসা প্রদানের জন্যও, যা দেশের মধ্যে দৃষ্টান্ত।

• আমাদের সরকার মানুষের কাজ করে। মানুষকে রক্ষা করাই আমাদের কাজ।

• কোর্টের নির্দেশ সত্ত্বেও এখনো দার্জিলিং এর জন্য CRPF দেওয়া হয়নি। আমরা সব গণ্ডগোল জীবন দিয়ে রুখব।

• একটা সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে কেন কুৎসা, অপপ্রচার, চক্রান্ত হবে?রাজ্য ও কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার উভয়ই মানুষ দ্বারা নির্বাচিত। তাও কেন কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার রাজ্য সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে চক্রান্ত করবে? জবাব চাই, জবাব দিতে হবে।

• বর্ডার খুলে দিয়ে কিছু বাইরের লোক দিয়ে পরিকল্পিতভাবে দাঙ্গা করানো হচ্ছে। চক্রান্ত করে আবার রাজ্য সরকারের কাছে জবাব চাইছে। এত চক্রান্ত সত্ত্বেও আমরা মানুষকে শান্ত রেখেছি। আমি এজন্য বাংলার মা-মাটি-মানুষকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই।

• বাংলা সংস্কৃতির পীঠস্থান। বাংলা কুৎসা, চক্রান্ত, ভাগাভাগি মেনে নেয় না।

• বাংলাকে রাজনৈতিক কারণে উচ্ছশৃঙ্খল কয়েকজন ফেক নিউজ দিয়ে ফেকবুকে মিথ্যে রটাবে

• বাংলার মানুষ এসব সহ্য করেনি, কখনো করবে না। আমরা ফেসবুক কে সম্মান করি ফেকবুক কে নয়। বাংলাদেশের কুমিল্লার ঘটনা দেখিয়ে বলছে বাংলায় হয়েছে, ভোজপুরি সিনেমার ক্লিপ দিয়ে বলেছে বাংলায় হয়েছে।

• কখনো দাঙ্গা করছে, কখনো আগুন জ্বালিয়ে দিচ্ছে – এগুলোই ওদের কাজ। আমরা শপথ নিচ্ছি আমরা এই কাজ করতে দেব না। সকলে মিলিত ভাবে থাকব।

• বাংলা এসব মেনে নেবে না। একতাই সম্প্রীতি, একতাই সংহতি। ওদের চক্রান্তে পা দেবেন না, ওদের থেকে সাবধান হন।

• একটা ভিডিও ক্লিপে দেখলাম আসামে বিশ্ব হিন্দু পরিষদ (বিজেপির শাখা) মেয়েদের বন্দুকের প্রশিক্ষণ দিচ্ছে। এটা প্রশাসনের কাজ। ওরা কিভাবে করছে এ কাজ? আমি চ্যালেঞ্জ করে বলতে পারি ওরা এসব করতে পারে না। দেশটার সর্বনাশ করতে চায়, দেশকে ধ্বংস করতে চায়।

• যারা বিদ্যা, বুদ্ধি, আত্মত্যাগ দিয়ে শান্তি রক্ষা করে মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়াবে তারাই রাজনৈতিক নেতা। যাদের আদর্শ, দর্শন নেই, যারা মানুষে মানুষে আগুন লাগায় তারা দেশের শত্রু, তারা রাজনৈতিক নেতা হতে পারে না।

• Save India from disaster. গণতন্ত্র ধ্বংস করবেন না। মানুষকে মানুষের মত বাঁচতে দিন।

• সব কাজ রাজ্য সরকার করবে, আর ওরা দালালি করে বেড়াবে, আগুন লাগিয়ে বেড়াবে আর বিদেশে গিয়ে ঘুরে বেড়াবে।

• নোটবন্দির নামে আজও ব্যাঙ্কে মানুষের অ্যাকাউন্ট স্বাভাবিক হয়নি। GST চাপিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে, এটা big corruption। শ্রমিক কৃষক থেকে শুরু করে সব মানুষের জীবনে অন্ধকার নেমে এসেছে।

• আধার কার্ড না করলে খাবার দেবে না বলছে। ০-৯ বছরের শিশুদের আধার কার্ড না করলে তাদের কিছু দেবে না বলছে। এভাবে দেশটাকে উচ্ছন্নে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে।

• রাজ্যে আরও শিল্প আসুক। আমাদের সরকার সব রকম সহযোগিতা করবে। বাংলা এগিয়ে যাক, মানুষ এগিয়ে যাক। আমাদের ছাত্রছাত্রীরাই আগামী দিনে দেশকে তৈরী করবে। সব ধর্ম সমন্বয়, একতা-সম্প্রীতি সংহতি বজায় রেখে চলুন। বাংলা উন্নয়নের সঙ্গে এগিয়ে যাবে, এটাই আমাদের অঙ্গীকার।

• অনেক কাজ হয়েছে। এখানে বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন কেন্দ্র তৈরী হয়েছে। হলদিয়াতে আরও বিনিয়োগ হবে।

• সকলকে অভিনন্দন, সকলে ভালো থাকুন, এলাকার শান্তি রক্ষা করুন।
