36 MPs belonging to Trinamool Congress were rounded up and detained by Delhi Police while they were peacefully holding a demonstration outside the Prime Minister’s residence. Several veteran MPs were manhandled, women MPs were also badly behaved with.

The MPs were taken to Tughlaq Road Police Station where they sat on a dharna.

Trinamool delegation meets the Governor

To protest against the political vendetta of the Centre and the emergency-like situation prevailing in the country, Trinamool today organised massive protests across the State. A delegation of Trinamool MLAs met the Governor to register the party’s complaint against the constant attacks on federal structure.

After meeting the Governor, Secretary General of the party, Partha Chatterjee said: “We have complained to the Governor about attempts to break the federal structure Without consulting the State Govt CRPF was deployed in Bengal outside BJP party office. This is an assault on federalism.”

“Just because Trinamool is vocal about people’s interest in demonetisation issue, conspiracies are being hatched to malign the party Why should leaders of other parties, like Babul Supriyo who are associated with chit funds, not be arrested We cannot be silenced by these fear-mongering tactics. We are with the people. We will stand beside the people,” he added.

“Our backbone cannot be broken like this. We will continue our movement against DeMonetisation Leaders from outside, who do not know the history or geography of Bengal cannot scare us. Mamata Banerjee has the support of people,” Partha Chatterjee said.

Protests across Bengal

Rallies were taken out in various parts of Kolkata. Protests were held in Coochbehar, Singut, Dankuni, Asansol, Kulti, East Midnapore, Malda, Canning, Sodepur, Titagarh, Kharagpur, Nadia, Hooghly, north Dinajpur, Haldia and several other places.

Dharnas were organised outside CGO Complex in Kolkata as well as CBI office in Odisha.

প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বাসবভবনের সামনে শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে বিক্ষোভ দেখানোর সময় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের ৩৬ জন সাংসদকে আটক করে দিল্লি পুলিশ। আটক করার সময় পুলিশ তাদের চূড়ান্ত হেনস্থা করেছে। ঘটনায় আহত হয়েছেন দুই সাংসদ। এমনকি মহিলা সাংসদদেরও রেয়াত করা হয়নি।

আটক করার পর সাংসদদের তুঘলক রোড পুলিশ স্টেশনে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয় সেখানে তারা ধর্নায় বসেন।

তৃণমূলের প্রতিনিধি দলের সঙ্গে রাজ্যপালের সাক্ষাৎ 

এদিন তৃণমূলের শীর্ষ নেতা-নেত্রীদের এক প্রতিনিধি দলও রাজভবনে রাজ্যপালের সঙ্গে দেখা করেছেন। রাজ্যপালের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাতের পর সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হয়ে পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় জানান, “কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় কাঠামোকে ধ্বংস করার চেষ্টা করছে এ বিষয়ে আমরা রাজ্যপালের কাছে অভিযোগ জানানো হয়েছে। রাজ্য সরকারের সঙ্গে আলোচনা না করেই ওরা বিজেপির দলীয় কার্যালয়ের বাইরে কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনী মোতায়েন করেছে – এটা গণতন্ত্রের অপমান”।

বাবুল সুপ্রিয়র মত অন্য দলের নেতারা যারা চিট ফান্ডের সঙ্গে যুক্ত তাদের কেন গ্রেফতার করা হচ্ছে না এই প্রশ্নও তুলেছেন তিনি। তাঁর বক্তব্য, “আমরা এই ধরনের আক্রমণে ভয় পেয়ে চুপ করে থাকব না। আমরা মানুষের পাশে আছি, মানুষের পাশে থাকব। এভাবে আমাদের শিরদাঁড়া ভাঙা যাবে না। নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের প্রতিবাদ চলবে”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “বাইরের নেতারা যারা কখনও বাংলার রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাসে ছিলই না, তারা আমাদের ভয় দেখাতে পারবে না কারণ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সঙ্গে মানুষের সমর্থন আছে। একথা গোপন নয় যে বিজেপির কেউ কেউ রাজ্যপালকে ও তাঁর আসনকে ব্যবহার করার চেষ্টা করছেন। রাজ্যপাল এই ঘটনায় দুঃখিত। রাজ্যপালকে এভাবে কালিমালিপ্ত করার চেষ্টাকে আমরা তীব্র ভাষায় নিন্দা করছি”।

বাংলা জুড়ে প্রতিবাদ

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসার প্রতিবাদে বুধবার সকাল থেকে পথে নেমেছে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস৷ মহানগর সহ রাজ্যের প্রতিটি প্রান্তে তৃণমূল কর্মীদের মিছিল ও প্রতিবাদে উত্তাল রাজ্য ৷

কলকাতার আলিপুর, গোপালনগর, কাঁকুড়গাছি সহ বিভিন্ন এলাকায় প্রতিবাদ মিছিল করেছে তৃণমূল কর্মীরা।

এদিন ভুবনেশ্বরে সিবিআই অফিসের বাইরেও বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচি পালন করে তৃণমূল সমর্থকরা।

এছাড়া, কোচবিহার, আলিপুরদুয়ার, সিঙ্গুর ও ডানকুনি আসানসোল, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর, ওড়িশা সীমানায়, মালদহের ফোয়ারা মোড় ক্যানিং, সোদপুর, কোচবিহার, টিটাগড়ে বিটি রোড, খড়গপুর ৬ নং জাতীয় সড়ক, নদিয়া, হুগলি, উত্তর দিনাজপুর ও হলদিয়াতেও প্রতিবাদ মিছিল হয়।
