The West Bengal Government has decided to provide swings to all primary schools that have a playground of their own. Schools without playgrounds, on the other hand, will be given sports equipments.

State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee made the announcement in the Assembly on Monday. The initiative has been taken to give opportunity to the students to have healthy physical activity, besides studying at the primary level.

It has been found that many students at the primary level tend to become obsessed about studies, as a result of which they do not participate actively in sports. The step taken by the state education department could help in promoting physical fitness among the students.

Facilities like swing sets and see-saws, which are usually available in private schools, will now be present in state-run primary schools as well. The move will encourage students to indulge more in physical activity during recess and also to be present in schools on all the working days.

Those schools which have their own playground may apply to get swings and see-saws and the education department will take necessary steps on an immediate basis. The education department has already started the process of procuring swings.

On the instructions of the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the education department had given shoes to the students of state-run primary schools. On the way to Mati Utsav in Burdwan, the Chief Minister had seen from her car that some students were returning from school without shoes. After seeing this, she talked to the state Education Minister Partha Chatterjee over phone from the spot and enquired about the project under which students of all state-run primary schools were supposed to get shoes.

In the past five years, the state government has taken several steps to improve the basic infrastructure of the school buildings, besides giving stress on improving the quality of education in state-run schools. Around 35,940 toilets were constructed in schools in the past four years, of which around 9,246 are boys’ toilet and 26,294 are for girls.

Moreover, steps have also been taken to ensure cleanliness in schools, proper distribution of mid-day meals and cleanliness of students’ school uniform. A team will be formed which will visit the schools in the state for inspection to ensure the same.

প্রাইমারি স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের আরও বেশি উৎসাহ দেওয়ার জন্য  কন্যাশ্রী, জুতো, সাইলেকের পর এবার স্কুলেই বিনোদন পার্কের ব্যবস্থা রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার৷ যে সমস্ত স্কুলে ফাঁকা জমি কিংবা খেলার মাঠ আছে সেখানে এই খেলাধুলার সরঞ্জামগুলি রাখতে পারবে কর্তৃপক্ষ৷

সোমবার বিধানসভায় একথা জানান শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়৷ পড়াশোনার পাশাপাশি শিশুদের মানসিক বিকাশ ও শরীর চর্চার জন্য রাজ্য সরকারের এই অভিনব পদক্ষেপ।

আর এই সমস্ত খেলার সরঞ্জাম শিশুদের কাছে খুবই আকর্ষণীয়৷ এগুলি স্কুলে আসার প্রতি শিশুদের আকর্ষণ ও পড়াশোনা করার উৎসাহ আরও বাড়াবে৷ কমবে স্কুলছুট৷

বেসরকারি স্কুলগুলির মত রাজ্যের প্রাথমিক স্কুলের মাঠ কিংবা ফাঁকা জমিতে এবার থেকে রাখা হবে দোলনা, স্লিপ কিংবা সি-স-র মতো একাধিক খেলাধুলার সরঞ্জাম৷ ইতিমধ্যেই বিষয়টি নিয়ে দফায় দফায় বৈঠক করেছে স্কুলশিক্ষা দফতর৷ জারি হচ্ছে নির্দেশিকা৷ দ্রুত ওই নির্দেশিকা প্রাথমিক স্কুলগুলির কাছে পাঠানো হবে৷

গত পাঁচ বছরে স্কুলের পরিকাঠামো এবং শিক্ষার মান উন্নয়নের জন্য রাজ্য সরকার অনেক পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে। গত পাঁচ বছরে স্কুলগুলিতে প্রায় ৩৫,৯৪০টি টয়লেট তৈরি হয়েছে এর মধ্যে ৯,২৪৬টি ছেলেদের এবং ২৬,২৯৪টি মেয়েদের।

তাছাড়া, ছাত্রছাত্রীদেরদের স্কুল ইউনিফর্ম, স্কুলগুলির মধ্যে পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্নতা বজায় রাখা, মিড ডে মিল ইত্যাদি বিবিধ ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হয়েছে। রাজ্যের বিদ্যালয়গুলি পরিদর্শনের জন্য একটি বিশেষ দল গঠন করা হয়েছে।

The Trinamool Congress Government of West Bengal has brought about a sea change in school education. From setting up thousands of schools to appointing teachers to giving bicycles under the Sabuj Sathi Scheme, Chief Mamata Banerjee’s administration has tried its best to ensure that everyone gets access to quality education. Innumerable schools have been upgraded to secondary and higher secondary levels.

Now, some more measures have been announced with regard to education. To enable everyone to come to school, black shoes have been started to be distributed for free to primary school students, that is, students from classes I to IV, of all government schools. More than 54 lakh students are going to get the shoes.

The government has started giving free test papers to students of class 10 to help them prepare better for Madhyamik examination. Also, some of the books of standards 10 and 12 would be made available for free. The subjects include English, Bengali, Hindi, Santhali, Nepali and Urdu. These new measures would reduce the burden to some extent on many parents.

তৃণমূল পরিচালিত পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য সরকার শিক্ষা ক্ষেত্রে বিপুল অগ্রগতি এনেছে। সাইকেল, পাঠ্য বই ইত্যাদির মাধ্যমে যাতে সব ছাত্রছাত্রী শিক্ষার সুযোগ পায় তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য যথাসাধ্য চেষ্টা করেছেন।

ইতিমধ্যেই দশম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রছাত্রীদের বিনামূল্যে টেস্ট পেপার দিচ্ছে রাজ্য সরকার।

একাদশ ও দ্বাদশ শ্রেণিতেও এবার বিনামূল্যে পাঠ্যপুস্তক দেবে রাজ্য সরকার৷ চলতি শিক্ষাবর্ষ থেকেই এই প্রকল্প কার্যকর হবে৷ যে বইগুলি বিনামূল্যে দেওয়া হবে সেগুলি হল- সাহিত্য চর্চা (বাংলা এ), ইংলিশ র‍্যাপিড রিডার (ইংলিশ বি), মাইন্ডস্কেপ (ইংলিশ বি), হিন্দি পাঠ সঞ্চয়ন, সাঁওতালি, নেপালি (এ), উর্দু (বি)৷ অতিরিক্ত বই হিসাবে দেওয়া হবে- বাংলার ভাষা ও সংস্কৃতি, সাহিত্যকথা৷ এছাড়াও আরও কয়েকটি বই পড়ুয়াদের বিনামূল্যে দেবে সরকার৷

শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় জানিয়েছেন, ‘একাদশ ও দ্বাদশ শ্রেণির বেশ কয়েকটি বই ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের হাতে বিনামূল্যে তুলে দেওয়া হবে৷ যারা এবার মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা দিল তারা একাদশ শ্রেণি থেকে বিনামূল্যের বই পাবে৷’

এর পাশাপাশি রাজ্যের স্কুল পড়ুয়ারা বিনামূল্যে যে জুতো পাবে, তা হবে ‘ওয়াটার প্রুফ’৷ নকশা বদলের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়৷ তিনি জানিয়েছেন, প্রাথমিক পড়ুয়াদের জন্য বিনামূল্যে জুতো দেওয়ার প্রকল্প চালু হয়েছে৷ যা আজ, মঙ্গলবার থেকে শুরু হচ্ছে৷

সরকারি অনুষ্ঠানে কয়েকজন ছাত্রের খালি পা চোখে পড়েছিল মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর৷ তিনি ঘোষণা করেছিলেন বিনামূল্যে গোটা রাজ্যেই ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জুতো দেওয়া হবে৷ প্রাথমিকভাবে ঠিক হয়েছিল সাদা কেডস পাবে তারা৷ পরে ঠিক হয় কালো চামড়ার জুতো দেওয়া হবে৷ বর্ষাকালে সেই জুতো খারাপ হওয়ার আশঙ্কার কথা জানানো হয় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে৷ বিশেষজ্ঞদের পরামর্শে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীই ‘ওয়াটার প্রুফ’ জুতোর ছাড়পত্র দিয়েছেন৷

জুতোগুলি হবে কালো রঙের৷ জুতোর মান ঠিক রাখতে স্কুলশিক্ষা দফতর কারিগরি শিক্ষা দফতরের সাহায্য চায়৷

The Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal Government has come up with yet another project to better the already-shining education sector of the State.

The first Centre for Potential Upgradation (CPU) for primary school teachers will come up at Vidyasagar Bhavan in Suri, the headquarters of Birbhum District Primary School Council. This first-of-its-kind centre would start operations by this March.

The idea behind such centres is to upgrade the skills of teachers teaching in primary schools. They will have modern facilities for studying, reading and collecting data through the internet, and computers. Each centre will also have a library stuffed with relevant journals, magazines and research works on education.

There are orientation courses for school and college teachers, and for university-level faculty members. Now primary school teachers would also be able to upgrade their skills.

Over the course of the last almost five years, 15 universities and 46 colleges have been set up by the Trinamool Congress Government. Around 3 lakh seats have been created in higher education. Two thousand five hundred primary and 3500 middle schools have been set up, and 1815 high schools have been developed.

 

শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রে সম্ভাব্য উন্নতিকরন কেন্দ্র তৈরি করবে রাজ্য সরকার

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় নেতৃত্বাধীন পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের শিক্ষা দপ্তর আরও একটি অভিনব প্রকল্প শুরু করতে চলেছে ।

প্রাথমিক স্তরের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদের দক্ষতা উৎকর্ষের জন্য রাজ্যের প্রথম সেন্টার ফর স্কিল আপগ্রেডেশান শুরু হতে চলেছে। সিউড়ির বিদ্যাসাগর ভবনে বীরভূম জেলা প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা কেন্দ্রের সদর দপ্তরে শুরু হতে চলেছে। রাজ্যে প্রথম এই ধরনের কেন্দ্র তৈরি হচ্ছে। আগামী মার্চ মাসের মধ্যেই এর কাজ শুরু হবে।

এই কেন্দ্রগুলিতে পড়াশোনার জন্য যথেষ্ট সুযোগ সুবিধা থাকবে – বই, ম্যাগাজিন, জার্নাল, ইন্টারনেট সুবিধা যুক্ত কম্পিউটার ইত্যাদি।

স্কুল, কলেজ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক শিক্ষিকাদের পর এবার প্রাথমিক স্কুলের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদেরও অরিয়েন্টেশন কোর্স করার সুবিধাও থাকবে সেখানে।

তৃণমূল সরকার গত পাঁচ বছরে ১৫ টি বিশ্ব বিদ্যালয় এবং ৪৬ টি কলেজ তৈরি করেছে। প্রায় ৩ লাখ আসন উচ্চশিক্ষার জন্য তৈরি করা হয়েছে। ২৫০০ প্রাথমিক ও ৩৫০০ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় স্থাপন করা হয়েছে, এবং ১৮১৫টি উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় উন্নত করা হয়েছে।

After bicycles for school students, it’s shoes. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee played Santa Claus on Tuesday when she spotted some school students without shoes, on her way from Burdwan to Bolpur.

She immediately called education minister Partha Chatterjee and asked him to arrange for shoes to primary school students in a week. The state government has been distributing free books to students and recently announced that Madhyamik students would receive free test papers.

The state has 100 per cent mid-day meal coverage and has achieved 99% coverage of toilets in schools already.

School infrastructure has grown apace during the last few years. A lot of new schools (primary, upper primary), integrated schools (class 1 to 12) and model schools in backward blocks have been taken up.

Gaps in infrastructure have been filled by construction of Additional Class Rooms, Toilets, Separate Girls’ Toilets and Drinking Water facilities. Hostels especially for Girls students in Jangalmahal area have been built as a special initiative of the Government.

প্রাথমিকের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের বিনামূল্যে জুতো দেবে রাজ্য সরকার

সাইকেলের পর এবার বিনামূল্যে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জুতো দেবে রাজ্য সরকার। মঙ্গলবার পানাগড়ের ওপর দিয়ে যাওয়ার সময় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী লক্ষ্য করেন যে কিছু স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের পায়ে জুতো নেই।

সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তিনি শিক্ষামন্ত্রীকে ফোন করে নির্দেশ দেন এক সপ্তাহের মধ্যে প্রাথমিকের স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের জন্যও জুতোর ব্যবস্থা করার। ইতিমধ্যেই রাজ্য সরকার স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের জন্যও বিনামূল্যে বইয়ের ব্যবস্থা করেছে এবং কয়েকদিন আগেই ঘোষিত হয়েছে যে মাধ্যমিক ছাত্রছাত্রীদেরও এখন থেকে বিনামূল্যে টেস্টপেপার দেওয়া হবে।

প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে মিড ডে মিলে ১০০ শতাংশ পরিষেবা দিতে সক্ষম হয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার এবং প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে শৌচাগার তৈরির কাজেও ৯৯ শতাংশ সফল হয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

গত ৪ বছরে স্কুল পরিকাঠামো তৈরির কাজ জোর কদমে শুরু হয়েছে। পিছিয়ে পরা এলাকা গুলিতে প্রচুর প্রাথমিক, মাধ্যমিক, উচ্চমাধ্যমিক এবং মডেল স্কুল তৈরি হয়েছে।

জঙ্গলমহল এলাকায় মেয়েদের হস্টেল তৈরি রাজ্য সরকারের একটি মহান পদক্ষেপ।

A recently released set of data shows adolescent girls in rural Bengal setting a nationwide trend with their keenness to go to school. Comapred to their male counterparts, the central survey shows, rural girl students have a better attendance record.

The NSSO survey , carried out in January-June 2014, shows that in the gross attendance ratio and net attendance ratios in primary , upper primary and secondary classes, girls have overtaken boys by a good measure in rural Bengal. The results came in three months after the West Bengal Government’s launched its Kanyashree scheme -a conditional cash transfer or CCT to stop adolescent dropouts among girl students.

State women and child development minister Dr Shashi Panja said, “When Kanyashree was launched by the Chief Minister in October 1, 2013, it was followed by a sustained media campaign. This, we felt, had touched the common psyche. Otherwise, the number of beneficiaries would not have reached 2.5 million. In addition, we always had a Sabala project, in which, through ICDS centers in six districts, we try to spread awareness about dropping out from school. This is a welcome development.“

The minister’s statements on the impact of government schemes are not without reason. A bulk of the education infrastructure is still provided by the government, with private players lagging significantly .The NSSO survey indicates that for every 1,000 primary, upper primary, secondary and graduate schools, the government sponsors 927 while only 26 are private-aided.

What makes this attendance data significant is the amount of effort a girl in rural Bengal has to make to go to high school. For every 1,000 schools surveyed, 190 upper primary schools are approximately 2-5km from home; 23 upper primary schools are more than 5km away; 287 secondary schools are 2-5km away from home and 56 secondary schools more than 5km away.
