With the inauguration of a booster pumping station at Behala Flying Club, Kolkata, yesterday, many a water problem in Behala has now been solved.

The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal Government has been able to tackle water issues all over the State. This is the beginning of yet another success story.

The project was inaugurated by Education and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Partha Chatterjee. He also announced the setting up of a polytechnic college and a B Ed college in Behala.

Filtered water from this pumping station in Behala’s ward number 131 would also be piped to areas of Joka. For this purpose, Rs 5 crore would be invested to lay underground pipelines.

দক্ষিণ কলকাতার মানুষের জলের চাহিদা মেটাতে চালু হল বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশন। ইতিমধ্যেই রাজ্যের সব জায়গায় জল সমস্যা মেটানোর জন্যও বেশ কিছু উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে তৃণমূল পরিচালিত রাজ্য সরকার। এটি আর একটি প্রয়াস।

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ঐকান্তিক প্রচেষ্টায় বৃহস্পতিবার বেহালা ফ্লায়িং ক্লাব বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশনের আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্বোধন করলেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি। বেহালায় একটি পলিটেকনিক ও বিএড কলেজ করার কথাও ঘোষণা করেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী।

ইতিমধ্যেই কলকাতার আরও অনেক জায়গায় পরিশ্রুত পানীয় জল সরবরাহ করার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে কলকাতা পুরসভা। বেহালায় শুরু হওয়া এই বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশন সেই উন্নয়নের ধারাবাহিক পদক্ষেপ।

এই বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশনের আংশিক ভূগর্ভস্থ জলধারণ ক্ষমতা ২,৮৫,০০০ লিটার। নতুন এই বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশন চালু হওয়ায় উপকৃত হবেন বেহালার ১১৩ নং ওয়ার্ডের কিছু নাগরিক সহ জোকার কিছু এলাকা। এই প্রকল্পের জন্য ৫ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে মাটির নীচে পাইপ লাইন বসানো হবে।

The West Bengal Madhyamik examination 2016 starts today. A record 11,53,432 students have enrolled for the examination.

In order to ensure a glitch-free exam on an election year, the State Government has made strict security arrangements.

Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said that state administration and the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education have taken all necessary steps to ensure that the students can take the exam peacefully and without any hassle. “I wish everyone will do well in the upcoming Madhyamik exam … We at the administration would do whatever is necessary for this,” he said.

২০১৬-র মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা শুরু হচ্ছে আজ থেকে। এবছর রেকর্ড সংখ্যক পরীক্ষার্থী পরীক্ষা দিচ্ছেন। এবছর পরীক্ষার্থীর সংখ্যা ১১,৫৩,৪৩২।

নির্বাচনের সামনে যাতে কোনও রকম অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনা না ঘটে সেজন্য পর্যাপ্ত নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা বজায় রাখার জন্য উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

শিক্ষা মন্ত্রী পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি জানান, পরীক্ষার্থীরা যাতে সুষ্ঠু ও শান্তি পূর্ণভাবে পরীক্ষা দিতে পারে সেজন্য মধ্যশিক্ষা পর্ষদ সব রকম প্রশাসনিক ব্যবস্থা নিয়েছেন। আমি সকল পরীক্ষার্থীকে শুভেচ্ছা জানাই, সবাই খুব ভালো করে পরীক্ষা দেবে, প্রশাসনের তরফ থেকে আমরা সব রকম সহযোগিতা করব।

After bicycles for school students, it’s shoes. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee played Santa Claus on Tuesday when she spotted some school students without shoes, on her way from Burdwan to Bolpur.

She immediately called education minister Partha Chatterjee and asked him to arrange for shoes to primary school students in a week. The state government has been distributing free books to students and recently announced that Madhyamik students would receive free test papers.

The state has 100 per cent mid-day meal coverage and has achieved 99% coverage of toilets in schools already.

School infrastructure has grown apace during the last few years. A lot of new schools (primary, upper primary), integrated schools (class 1 to 12) and model schools in backward blocks have been taken up.

Gaps in infrastructure have been filled by construction of Additional Class Rooms, Toilets, Separate Girls’ Toilets and Drinking Water facilities. Hostels especially for Girls students in Jangalmahal area have been built as a special initiative of the Government.

প্রাথমিকের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের বিনামূল্যে জুতো দেবে রাজ্য সরকার

সাইকেলের পর এবার বিনামূল্যে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জুতো দেবে রাজ্য সরকার। মঙ্গলবার পানাগড়ের ওপর দিয়ে যাওয়ার সময় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী লক্ষ্য করেন যে কিছু স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের পায়ে জুতো নেই।

সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তিনি শিক্ষামন্ত্রীকে ফোন করে নির্দেশ দেন এক সপ্তাহের মধ্যে প্রাথমিকের স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের জন্যও জুতোর ব্যবস্থা করার। ইতিমধ্যেই রাজ্য সরকার স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের জন্যও বিনামূল্যে বইয়ের ব্যবস্থা করেছে এবং কয়েকদিন আগেই ঘোষিত হয়েছে যে মাধ্যমিক ছাত্রছাত্রীদেরও এখন থেকে বিনামূল্যে টেস্টপেপার দেওয়া হবে।

প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে মিড ডে মিলে ১০০ শতাংশ পরিষেবা দিতে সক্ষম হয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার এবং প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে শৌচাগার তৈরির কাজেও ৯৯ শতাংশ সফল হয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

গত ৪ বছরে স্কুল পরিকাঠামো তৈরির কাজ জোর কদমে শুরু হয়েছে। পিছিয়ে পরা এলাকা গুলিতে প্রচুর প্রাথমিক, মাধ্যমিক, উচ্চমাধ্যমিক এবং মডেল স্কুল তৈরি হয়েছে।

জঙ্গলমহল এলাকায় মেয়েদের হস্টেল তৈরি রাজ্য সরকারের একটি মহান পদক্ষেপ।

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee has shown a lot of interest in organising a global education summit in the State. The State Education Minister, Partha Chatterjee, announced last Friday that the Government is going ahead with this.

Educationists from all over the world would congregate to discuss the current state of education. The primary aim of the State Government behind organising this summit is to improve the quality of education and the educational infrastructure in West Bengal.

Importantly, the Education Minister said that researchers and educationists who have left the State in search of better opportunities would be invited too. According to him, this summit would give a clearer picture of where West Bengal stands in terms of the state of education and hence, give pointers to the areas in which improvements need to be made.

The West Bengal Education Commission has already been created to provide a basis for the future of education in the State.

 

আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষা সম্মেলন করতে ইচ্ছুক রাজ্য সরকার

শিল্পের পর এবার শিক্ষা সম্মেলন করার পথে রাজ্য সরকার। শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি গত শুক্রবার জানিয়েছেন যে রাজ্যে শিক্ষা সম্মেলন করা হবে।

দেশ–বিদেশের শিক্ষাবিদদের নিয়ে আলোচনা হবে এই সম্মেলনে। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার মান ও পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নে এই শিক্ষা সম্মেলন উল্লেখযোগ্য ভূমিকা নেবে।

শিক্ষামন্ত্রী জানান যে এই সম্মেলনে দেশ এবং বিদেশের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য এবং শিক্ষাবিদদের আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হবে। এই সম্মেলনে রাজ্যের শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার সম্পূর্ণ চিত্রটি যেমন তুলে ধরা হবে, তেমনি অন্য রাজ্য বা দেশের তুলনায় কোন কোন ক্ষেত্রে আমরা পিছিয়ে রয়েছি, কোথায় খামতি আছে, কেন ঘাটতি তাও জানা যাবে। শিক্ষার কোনও একটি স্তর বা ক্ষেত্রকে আরও উন্নত করতে শিক্ষাবিদদের সঙ্গে মত বিনিময়েরও সুযোগ তৈরি হবে।

আগামী দিনে রাজ্যের শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার রূপ কী হবে, তা ঠিক করতে ইতিমধ্যেই শিক্ষা কমিশন গঠিত হয়েছে।

People of wards 129, 130 and 131 of Behala, Kolkata, are likely to get rid of drinking water woes as a booster pumping station was inaugurated today at Senpally in Ward No 129.

The pumping station was inaugurated by Mayor of Kolkata, Sobhan Chatterjee. State Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim, Education Minister Dr Partha Chatterjee, AITC general secretary Subrata Bakshi were present at the occasion.

With inauguration of this 3 lakh gallon capacity pump, people of the area, including that of mayor’s ward are likely to get rid of water crisis, which has been a local issue for long.

Tate Education Minister Dr Partha Chatterjee said that the Government under Trinamool Congress is delivering the promises it made to the people.

The State Urban Development Minister Mr Firhad hakim said that Bengal is setting example for other States.

The Kolakata Mayor said water crisis in the city has been largely eradicated. There will be a time when the city will be100% tube-well free, he said.

The booster pumping station was today named after eminent lyricist Mohini Chowdhury.

 

নতুন বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশন বেহালায়

বেহালা ১২৯ নং ওয়ার্ডের সেনপল্লীতে একটি নতুন বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশন উদ্বোধন হয়েছে। ওয়ার্ড নং ১২৯, ১৩০ এবং ১৩১ এর অধিবাসীরা পানীয় জলের জন্য তৈরি হল এই বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশন।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত থাকবেন কলকাতার মেয়র শোভন চ্যাটার্জি, রাজ্যের পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী ফিরহাদ হাকিম, শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি, তৃণমূলের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সুব্রত বক্সী।

এই পাম্পের জলধারণ ক্ষমতা প্রায় ৩ লাখ গ্যালন। মেয়রের এলাকা সহ সব এলাকার পানীয় জলের সমস্যার সমাধান হবে এর মাধ্যমে।

রাজ্যের শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি বলেন যে তৃণমূল সরকার তাদের দেওয়া সমস্ত প্রতিশ্রুতি পূর্ণ করছে।

রাজ্যের পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী ফিরহাদ হাকিম বলেন পশ্চিম বাংলা অন্যান্য রাজ্যের কাছে একটি দৃষ্টান্ত।

কলকাতার মেয়র বলেন, “শহরে পানীয় জলের অভাব মূলত নির্মূল হয়েছে। এরপর এমন একদিন আসবে যেদিন শহরকে ১০০ শতাংশ নলকূপ মুক্ত করা সম্ভব হবে”।

প্রয়াত গীতিকার মোহিনী চৌধুরীর নামে এই বুস্টার পাম্পিং স্টেশনের নামকরন করা হয়েছে।

Trinamool Congress Secretary General Dr Partha Chatterjee, while speaking at a function commemorating the 153rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Anandanagar in Singur came down heavily on the Opposition for playing cheap and mean politics with the Singur issue for their narrow political gains.

Dr Partha Chatterjee said that the CPI-M never wanted an industry to come up at Singur. The forcible acquiring of very fertile agriculture land by the then Left Front government was the greatest blunder, he said.

Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee fasted for 26 days demanding the return of the fertile agricultural land to the unwilling farmers and then to sort out an amicable solution in favour of the Nano project at Singur, but the then adamant chief minister failed to bring about an amicable solution resulting in the withdrawal of the Nano project by the Industrial giant, Dr Chatterjee said.

Dr Chatterjee said that the CPI-M were creating unwanted hurdles to the return of agriculture land to the unwilling farmers. Dr Chatterjee also ridiculed the proposed Congress and CPI-M pact to fight the state Assembly election jointly.

He said the proposed alliance of the congress and CPM is motivated with hunger for political power. They are underestimating the good sense of the common people. The common people will go for progress and development but not for faulty politics and dictatorship once again, he said.

Trinamool Congress described the processions organised by the CPI(M) in rural areas as a bid to bring back the “days of terror” in the state.

The TMC leadership accused the Marxists of trying to unleash terror and capture villages ahead of the Assembly polls in the state in the name of organising ‘jathas’ (processions).

“They are trying to create a reign of terror ahead of Assembly polls and trying to capture villages. But people will give them a befitting reply,” TMC Secretary-General and state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee said.

Lashing out at the CPI(M), Secretary General of the party Partha Chatterjee today said that the communist party is trying to incite violence in the State in the name of political movements.

Taking a dig at CPI(M)’s ‘jatha’ he said such tactics of capturing rural areas cannot be allowed in a democratic set up. “The Opposition is taking political initiatives only to make headlines. They cannot win people’s trust like this,” he added.

He also remarked that the Opposition is jealous of the developmental initiatives launched in the last four years by Mamata Banerjee and was thus trying to stay relevant through headlines in the media.

“We have no problem with democratic means of political movement. We cannot allow plans to capture villages by force,” Partha Chatterjee said.

“For 34 years, CPM ruled through violence, terror, fear mongering and force. People witnessed development under Mamata Banerjee,” he added.

The state government has decided to distribute test papers for 11.58 lakh Madhyamik candidates for free. Easy availability of test papers will do a world of good to the board examinees.

And what’s more: The state is also contemplating making the higher secondary (HS) test papers available for free.

“Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself decided that the Madhaymik test papers should be available for free to each and every student. The students will be able to collect the test papers for free from their schools,” said education minister Partha Chatterjee.

“From the coming academic session, all the books published by the Madhaymik board will be available for free for the class 10 students. We are also contemplating offering higher secondary (HS) test papers for free,” he added.

The free text books for class 10 will be given to the students from the 2016-2017 academic session for Bengali, English and Mathematics.

The state government has already started distributing bicycles to students for free. “We are ensuring that the students can avail free transport while going to school. Hence, the work of distribution of free bicycles has already started. Now, after making test papers available for free we are also aiming at helping the class 10 students to get free textbooks. Our aim is to ensure that every student is encouraged to go to school by fighting all impediments,” Partha Chatterjee said.

A group of ministers (GoM) formed by chief minister Mamata Banerjee has decided to extend a series of benefits in the areas of food, health, power and education for the employees of not only closed or abandoned tea gardens but also of the stressed ones.

The GoM has decided to allocate a Rs 100 crore Tea Garden Employees’ Welfare Fund (formed in early 2015) as corpus for the benefit of the ailing tea garden workers.

The GoM headed by finance and industries minister Dr Amit Mitra had an hourlong meeting with the officials of education, food, health, PHE and power departments on Friday to discuss the strategy and modalities.

The other members of GoM also include power minister Manish Gupta, rural development minister Subrata Mukherjee, education minister Partha Chatterjee, north Bengal development minister Gautam Deb, labour minister Moloy Ghatak and agriculture minister Purnendu Bose.

It was decided that a task force will be formed under the district magistrates of Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar to oversee the implementation of the relief measures on a day-to-day basis. The state government has set a deadline of seven days to supply power directly to the workers houses in all the 234 Dooars gardens.

Besides free power, the state is organising a free kitchen in over 30 stressed gardens in Dooars.
