Kolkata may soon get one of the largest indoor sports arenas of the country with a capacity to accommodate upto 15,400 people at one time.

The proposed indoor stadium’s capacity will be 15,400. The capacity of the city’s Netaji Indoor stadium is 12,000.

Keeping in mind West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Green City Project, the proposed stadium will have solar power and will come up on ten acres of land near the Deer Park in Eco Park. The facility will have lawn tennis, ‘ kho kho’, ‘kabaddi’, badminton, basket ball and table tennis courts.

The project is in the planning stage. A design has been prepared as per instructions of the Chief Minister. The HIDCO board has passed the design during its recently held meeting and now the design will be forwarded to the state government for approval..

The stadium will have four entrances for vehicles and four entrances for pedestrians with lifts to carry players and VIPs. There will also be two gymnasiums and changing rooms for players, the area under the stadium will be rented out to various offices for commercial purpose aimed at generating revenue.

New Town will also get a state-of-the-art Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. Construction work has already started with a completion target of March 2017 and HIDCO officials claimed the centre will be the largest convention centre in eastern India.

The convention centre, as per our information, will be the largest convention centre of its kind in the country, with the main single conference hall having a capacity to accommodate 3,000 people.

The focus is to create a global network and promote conference tourism in the state. The centre will be more like the convention centres at Hanover and Dusseldorf in Germany. The expositions and conferences that will be held in the centre will generate revenue for the state. The convention centre will have two auditoriums, six banquet rooms, seminar rooms, exhibition area, various types of restaurants, swimming pool, library, board rooms, book shops and spa. The entire unit is spread across ten acres of land and is coming up near the HIDCO Bhawan.

 

দেশের বৃহত্তম ইনডোর স্টেডিয়াম পেতে চলেছে কলকাতা

 

১৫,৪০০ আসন বিশিষ্ট দেশের সব থেকে বড় বৃহত্তম ইনডোর স্টেডিয়াম পেতে চলেছে কলকাতা। প্রস্তাবিত এই স্টেডিয়ামটির আসন সংখ্যা হবে ১৫,৪০০, নেতাজী ইনডোর স্টেডিয়ামের আসন সংখ্যা ১২,০০০।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের গ্রীন সিটি প্রকল্পের কথা মাথায় রেখে, এই প্রস্তাবিত ক্রীড়াঙ্গনটি তৈরি হবে ইকো পার্কের ডিয়ার পার্কের পাশেই, ১০ একর জমির ওপর এটি গড়ে উঠবে, পুরোপুরিভাবে চালিত হবে সৌরশক্তির দ্বারা। এখানে লন টেনিস, ব্যাডমিন্টন, টেবিল টেনিস, খোখো, কাবাডি ও বাস্কেটবল খেলার সুবিধে থাকবে।

আপাতত এই প্রকল্পটি পরিকল্পনার স্তরে আছে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশ অনুযায়ী একটি নকশাও তৈরি করা হয়েছে। হিডকোর সাম্প্রতিক মিটিং-এ এটির অনুমোদনও পাওয়া গেছে। এবার রাজ্য সরকারের অনুমোদনের জন্য এই নকশাটি পাঠানো হবে।

এই স্টেডিয়ামে ৪টি প্রবেশদ্বার থাকবে যানবাহনের জন্য ও আরও ৪টি প্রবেশদ্বার থাকবে পথচারীদের জন্য। ওখানে লিফট থাকবে খেলোয়াড় ও বিশেষ অতিথিদের জন্য। ওখানে ২টি ব্যায়ামাগার ও ১টি বিশ্রামাগার থাকবে খেলোয়াড়দের জন্য। স্টেডিয়ামটির নিচের অংশ বিভিন্ন অফিসকে ভাড়া দেওয়া হবে বাণিজ্যিক কারনে ব্যাবহার করার জন্য, যা থেকে স্টেডিয়ামটির আয় আসবে।

নিউ টাউন একটি অনন্য বিশ্ব বাংলা সম্মেলন কেন্দ্র পেতে চলেছে। যেটি তৈরির কাজ ইতিমধ্যেই শুরু হয়ে গেছে। লক্ষ্য স্থির করা হয়েছে পুরব ভারতের বৃহত্তম এই সম্মেলন কেন্দ্রটি ২০১৭ সালের মার্চ মাসের মধ্যে এটি তৈরি করার। এটির মুল কনফারেন্স হলে একসঙ্গে ৩০০০ মানুষ বসতে পারবেন।

এটি তৈরি করার মুখ্য উদ্দেশ্য হল বিশ্বের সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করা ও কনফারেন্স ট্যুরিজ্‌মকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া। এটি মুলত জার্মানির দুসেলদরফের হ্যানোভারের কনফারেন্স সেন্টারের আদলে তৈরি করা হয়েছে। এখানে অনুষ্ঠিত সব অনুষ্ঠান থেকে রাজ্যের আয় বাড়বে। এখানে ২টি প্রেক্ষাগৃহ, ৬টি বাঙ্কোয়েট রুম, সেমিনার রুম, প্রদর্শনী কেন্দ্র, বিভিন্ন রেস্টুরেন্ট, সুইমিং পুল, লাইব্রেরি, বোর্ড রুম, বইয়ের দোকান ও স্পা থাকবে। পুরো জায়গাটি হিডকো ভবনের কাছে ১০একর জমির ওপর তৈরি করা হচ্ছে।
