Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has always maintained that there is no competition between agriculture and industry. They complement each other.  Bengal is a perfect example where agriculture and industry exist side by side.

The farmers of Singur got back their land after 10 years with the help of the Trinamool Government. The soil has been made cultivable through modernized technologies and proper irrigation system. The farmers have received around Rs 10,000 as grants from the Government. The Government has also supported the farmers in order to receive agricultural loans.

Today, Singur is smiling. After the historic verdict of the Supreme Court, the farmers of Singur have been given back their land pattas, which were once taken away forcibly from them by the erstwhile Left Front Government. They have once again produced rich harvest on the same land.

Those who grew up on the soils of Singur, are once again free. With the support of DIdi, they have got back their own land, the soil that was harvested by their fathers and forefathers. They know the language of that soil, its texture,, its smell and its feel. And that have made them to produce a golden harvest, even after a decade.

 

সিঙ্গুর ফিরে এল শস্যের ভাণ্ডারে

রাজ্যের কৃষি এবং শিল্পায়নে অগ্রগতি নিয়ে বরাবর এক স্বচ্ছ ভাবমূর্তি দেশের কাছে তুলে ধরেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যয়াপাধ্যায়।

‘কৃষি-শিল্প ‘ কারও সংগে কারও প্রতিযোগিতা নেই। ওরা একে অপরের পরিপূরক। নতুন বাংলায় তাই কৃষি ও শিল্পের সহাবস্থান যথেষ্টই তুলনাস্বরুপ।

১০ বছর পর রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্যোগে সিঙ্গুরের কৃষকেরা তাদের নিজ নিজ জমি ফেরত পেয়েছেন। এবং যথেষ্ট আধুনিক উপায়ে জমিকে চাষযোগ্য করে তোলার লক্ষ্যে সেচের জন্য তারা চেক বাধ এবং ছোট নলকূপ ও বসিয়েছেন। এবং রাজ্য সরকারের কাছ থেকে কৃষকগোষ্ঠী অনুদান মাফিক ১০ হাজার করে টাকাও পেয়েছেন। কৃষকরা যাতে ঋন পায় তারও ব্যবস্থা করেছে রাজ্য সরকার।

আজ সিঙ্গুুর হাসছে। সুপ্রিম কোর্টের রায়ে সিঙ্গুরে বুদ্ধবাবুর পুলিশ দিয়ে গায়ের জোরে কেড়ে নেওয়া জমি ফের পাট্টা ও দলিল সমেত ফেরত পেয়ে সেই জমিতে আবার সোনার ফসল ফলিয়েছেন সিঙুরের কৃষক।

মাটির স্পর্শে বেঁচে থাকা মানুষগুলি আজ স্বাধীন। মমতাময়ী দিদির প্রচেষ্টায় ফিরে পেয়েছেন বংশ পরম্পরায় মাটির সংগে তাদের সম্পর্ক।ওরা মাটির ভাষা বোঝে, মাটির গন্ধ খোঁজে, তাই তাঁরা এই স্বাধীন চেতা মন নিয়ে তাদের ফিরে পাওয়া জমিতে নতুন করে সোনার ফসল ফলিয়েছেন।

On the 10th anniversary of the Nandigram Dibas, the Trinamool Congress Government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee felicitated 77 farmers from all the districts of the State with ‘Krishak Ratna’ awards at Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata.

The Maa, Mati, Manush Government led by Mamata Banerjee observes 14 March – the day when police had opened fire on protesting farmers in Nandigram – as Krishak Dibas.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said: Farmers are our pride. We are honouring farmers in every block today. The nation cannot run without farmers. The country stands on rural economy.”

She added that the government had set up Mati Tirtha and started the Mati Utsav, which was later picked up by the United Nations. She said that her government had fulfilled the promise by returning land in Singur to farmers.

২০১১ সাল থেকে কৃষকদের উন্নয়নই আমাদের লক্ষ্যঃ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ নন্দীগ্রামে নিরীহ কৃষকদের ওপর গুলিচালনার দশম বর্ষপূর্তি উপলক্ষে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের মা, মাটি, মানুষ সরকার ‘কৃষক দিবস’ হিসেবে উদযাপিত করে। আজ নজরুল মঞ্চে একটি অনুষ্ঠানে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কৃষক রত্ন পুরস্কার বিতরণ করেন।

জমি রক্ষার লড়াইয়ে এবং অমর শহীদ স্মরণে ‘কৃষক দিবস’ পালন করা হচ্ছে রাজ্যস্তরে। কৃষি, উদ্যান পালন, প্রাণী পালন এবং মৎস্য চাষ সহ সংশ্লিষ্ট ক্ষেত্রে অসামান্য অবদানের জন্য দেওয়া হল এই ‘কৃষক রত্ন’ পুরস্কার।

অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রী এবং বিশিষ্ট অতিথিরা।

Today is Nandigram Dibas. We remember the martyrs who fell to the bullets of police and cadres, under the instructions of CPI(M) on this day, ten years ago.

In January 2007, farmers in Nandigram erupted in protest against a proposed special economic zone (SEZ).

On March 14, the then Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya sent 2,500 policemen to ‘recapture’ Nandigram, but unofficially, they were accompanied by CPI(M) cadres.

Officially, 14 farmers died in the firing, but over 100 were declared “missing”. A similar attempt in November by the cadres finally ‘recaptured’ Nandigram. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya showed no remorse as he said, “They (farmers and Trinamool activists) have been paid back in their own coin.”

In its final report, the People’s Tribunal on Nandigram had called the violence of March 14, 2007 a “pre-planned, state-sponsored massacre” carried out “to teach a lesson” to people opposing the SEZ project on their land.

The Tribunal report, handed over to Gopal Krishna Gandhi, Governor of West Bengal on August 8, also called for the re-arrest of the ten CPI(M) cadres taken into custody earlier by the CBI but let off on bail due to the deliberate laxity of the West Bengal State police in filing charges against them within the statutory period.

 

ফিরে দেখা নন্দীগ্রাম

২০০৭ সালের ১৪ ই মার্চ পশ্চিমবঙ্গের পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার নন্দীগ্রামের ১ নম্বর ব্লকে ১৪ জন নিরাপরাধ গ্রামবাসীর প্রাণ ছিনিয়ে নিয়েছিল সশস্ত্র পুলিশ ও একদল বন্দুকবাহিনী। এছাড়াও আহত হয়েছিল হাজারের উপর নিস্পাপ গ্রামবাসী যাদের মধ্যে অনেকই মহিলা এবং শিশুও ছিল। মিডিয়া ও বাইরে থেকে যাতে কেউ ঢুকতে না পারে, তাই তারা নন্দীগ্রামের ঢোকার সব রাস্তা বন্ধ করে দিয়েছিল।

শুধুমাত্র একটি টিভি চ্যানেলই সেই মর্মান্তিক হত্যাকাণ্ডের ও মারপিটের লাইভ কভারেজ করেছিল। ঠিক দুদিন পরে অর্থাৎ ১৬ই মার্চ হাজারের উপর গ্রামবাসী সারা গ্রামে শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে প্রতিবাদ করার জন্য আবার একত্রিত হয়েছিল। সেইসময় প্রিন্ট মিডিয়া ও অন্যান্য টিভি চ্যানেলগুলি গ্রামে ঢুকে গ্রামবাসীদের কাছ থেকে সেই দিনের ঘটনার বিবরণ নিচ্ছিলো। কিছু তথ্যচিত্র পরিচালক ও সেইদিনের ঘটনাগুলি রেকর্ড করছিল। পরে অনেক সমাজসেবী সংস্থা সেইদিনকার ঘটনার প্রতিবাদ করেছে ,তারা গ্রামে ঘুরে আহত গ্রামবাসীদের আর্থিক সাহায্যও দিয়েছে।

দোল উৎসবে শ্রী গৌরাঙ্গের নামকীর্তন করতে করতে একদিকে যেমন হিন্দুরা গ্রামের তিন দিকে জড়ো হচ্ছিলো, অন্য দিকে মুসলমান সম্প্রদায় মানুষরাও পবিত্র কোরান পাঠের জন্য জমায়েত হচ্ছিলো। এইভাবেই গ্রামের সমস্ত মানুষজন এক অহিংস শান্তিপূর্ণ আন্দোলনের মাধ্যমে এই ঘটনার প্রতিবাদ করছিল।বিভিন্ন সূত্রের খবর এই হাজারো গ্রামবাসীর জমায়েত কে লক্ষ করেই হঠাৎই শুরু হয়েছিল কাঁদানে গ্যাস ও গুলির বৃষ্টি।

নন্দীগ্রামের সেই নারকীয় গুলিচালনার ঘটনার পর আজ দশটি বছর কেটে গিয়েছে। নন্দীগ্রামের অমর শহীদদের আমরা ভুলিনি, ভুলবো না।

Cultivation of crops on the entire 997 acre of land in Singur will start in full swing by the end of February.

The state government had returned the plots in cultivable condition to farmers in Singur following the Supreme Court’s verdict. The Apex Court had directed the state government to return the land within 12 weeks. The Mamata Banerjee government had completed the task much ahead of the deadline.

Mamata Banerjee government took elaborate schemes to ensure cultivation of crops on the acre of the land that had almost turned barren with construction of sheds and other facilities of the automobile factory. A total of 56 submersible pumps were installed and irrigation facility has also been restored. There was already full-fledged cultivation of mustard, potato and pulses on 500 acre of land and the growth of the crops in record time has removed doubts from the mind of the farmers who were brainwashed by some people with vested interest that cultivation would be next to impossible on the “barren land”. Sowing of paddy seeds has also started on the land.

Now, by the end of February, the remaining work to help farmers for a better cultivation would get completed.

 

সিঙ্গুরে চাষের অগ্রগতি নিয়ে হল উচ্চপর্যায়ের বৈঠক

সিঙ্গুরে চাষের অগ্রগতি নিয়ে এক উচ্চপর্যায়ের বৈঠক হল রবিবার। উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাজ্যের প্রধান কৃষি উপদেষ্টা, পিডব্লুডি–র প্রিন্সিপাল সেক্রেটারি, রাজ্য কৃষি দপ্তরের সহকারী আধিকারিক, জেলাশাসক, পুলিস সুপার, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ভট্টাচার্য, বেচারাম মান্না প্রমুখ। কাজের অগ্রগতি ছাড়াও কোথায় খামতি রয়েছে, কীভাবে তা কাটিয়ে ওঠা যায় তা নিয়েই হয় এদিনের বৈঠক।

এদিন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি বলেন, ‘‌রবিশস্য চাষ শুরু হয়েছে। ৫০০ একরের বেশি জমিতে চাষ হচ্ছে। চাষের জমি আরও বাড়ানোর কাজ চলছে। আগামী সপ্তাহে আলু তোলা হবে। সেই সময় আমি উপস্থিত থাকব।’‌

সিঙ্গুরের কৃষকদের জমি ফিরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। এবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী দ্রুততার সঙ্গে যাতে সিঙ্গুরের জমিতে উৎকর্ষ মানের চাষ সম্ভব হয়, সে–ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে। ইতিমধ্যেই প্রায় ৫০০ একরের বেশি জমিতে চাষ শুরু হয়েছে। ৫৬টি অগভীর নলকূপ বসানোর কাজও শেষ। একই সঙ্গে সেই নলকূপগুলি চাষের কাজে ব্যবহার শুরু হয়েছে। ধাপে ধাপে বাকি জমিতেও চাষ শুরু হবে।

The Bengal government has brought in an additional three lakh acre of agricultural land under its irrigation programme, with the objective of helping farmers for better cultivation at a time when they are facing hardships due to demonetisation of high value notes.

The state Irrigation minister said: “Around 12.43 lakh acre of land has been brought under the irrigation project and there will be no shortage of water supply for cultivation of Rabi and Boro crops. In the current fiscal, three lakh acres more has been brought under the irrigation programme.”

Interestingly, a lakh of the newly-acquired three lakh acre is in the Jangalmahal area. This is the highest in the decade that 12.43 lakh acre land has been brought under the irrigation project.

The Minister said that farmers are facing troubles due to demonetisation. Keeping the situation in mind, the step has been taken so that they do not have to worry about the requisite quantity of water for cultivation. He further said that the World Bank has given its clearance for the project where the state government would carry out de-siltation of Lower Damodar river and its channels. Once completed, flood in parts of Howrah, Hooghly, Bankura and Burdwan districts will become a thing of the past.

He also criticised the Centre, saying that it is reducing its share of funds for different projects in the state. Earlier, the Centre-state expenditure ratio for a project used to be 75:25, respectively. But now, the state has to bear 50 percent of the project costs and in some cases the state provides 75 percent of the project cost, while the Centre gives only 25 per cent.

 

 

আরও তিন লক্ষ একর জমি সেচ প্রকল্পে যুক্ত করলো রাজ্য

 

নোটবাতিলের ফলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত চাষিদের সাহায্য করতে উদ্যোগী হল রাজ্য সরকার। রাজ্য সরকার আরও তিন লক্ষ একর চাষের জমিকে সেচের আওতায় আনার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে। উল্লেখযোগ্য, এই তিন লক্ষ একর জমির মধ্যে এক লক্ষ একর জমিই জঙ্গলমহলে।

রাজ্যের সেচমন্ত্রী বলেন, “আনুমানিক ১২.৪৩ লক্ষ একর জমিকে সেচের আওতায় আনা হয়েছে। রবি ও বোরো শস্যের চাষের সময় কোনও ধরণের জলের ঘাটতি হবে না। চলতি অর্থবর্ষে তিন লক্ষ একর চাষের জমিকে সেচের আওতায় আনা হয়েছে।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, কৃষকরা নোটবাতিলের ফলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। এই পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হয়েছে যাতে কৃষকদের পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণে জল পাওয়ার জন্য দুশ্চিন্তা করতে না হয়।

মন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, বিশ্ব ব্যাঙ্ক ইতিমধ্যেই দামোদর নদীর ডি-সিল্টেশন প্রকল্প অনুমোদন করেছে। এই প্রকল্পটি বাস্তবায়িত হলে বাঁকুড়া, বর্ধমান, হাওড়া ও হুগলী জেলায় বন্যার সমস্যা কমবে।

কেন্দ্রের কড়া সমালোচনাও করেন সেচমন্ত্রী। এতদিন কোনও প্রকল্পের ৭৫ শতাংশ খরচ বহন করত কেন্দ্র, বাকিটা দিত রাজ্য। কিন্তু বর্তমানে রাজ্য সরকারকে ৫০ শতাংশ খরচ, এমনকি কোনও কোনও প্রকল্পে ৭৫ শতাংশও, বহন করতে হচ্ছে।

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee expressed solidarity with tribals in Jharkhand against forceful acquisition of land from tribals by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Jharkhand government.

She said on Friday: “Around 1500 acres of land were forcefully acquired from tribals in Jharkhand and given to someone as it had happened in Singur.”

“They sought our support to build protest against such forceful acquisition of land and a team comprising the state Agriculture Minister Purnendu Basu and MLAs including Srikanto Mahato and Sadhyarani Tudu will go to Jharkhand to speak to the land losers. They will file a report after visiting the place and then I will visit the place,” the Chief Minister added.

She further said: “I would visit all the BJP-led states (to raise voice against the on-going dictatorship going on in the country).”

It may be mentioned that Banerjee had already given a call for demonstration against the use of different agencies by the Centre for political purpose. There will be demonstrations across Bengal and other States on January 9, 10 and 11.

ঝাড়খণ্ডের আদিবাসীদের পাশে মমতা

ঝাড়খণ্ডের জমি আন্দোলনে আদিবাসীদের পাশে আছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি। ওখানকার পরিস্থিতি খতিয়ে দেখতে শনিবার ৩ জনকে পাঠাচ্ছেন তিনি। তাঁরা হলেন কৃষিমন্ত্রী পূর্ণেন্দু বসু, শান্তিরাম মাহাতো, সন্ধ্যা টুডু এবং শ্রীকান্ত মাহাতো। তাঁরা ফিরে এসে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে ঘটনার রিপোর্ট দেবেন। তারপর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ঝাড়খণ্ডে যাবেন।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday announced that names of the officers who were involved in the task of reconverting the 997 acres of the Singur land to cultivable condition and distribute it to its actual owners will be displayed on a board.

For the first time ever in the State’s history, names of officers will remain displayed on a board for their invaluable work to complete a task much ahead of the set deadline.

A booklet will also be published containing detailed information about the officers, their department and contribution for returning the land to farmers by following the Supreme Court’s order word by word.

The Bengal Chief Minister went to Singur on Wednesday to check the present situation as she had set November 8 as the deadline for completion of the land handing over process.

The Apex court had given 12 weeks time to the state government to return the land to its owners. But the officers have worked day and night without taking any leaves to complete the task before two weeks.

The Chief Minister said that this was not an easy task as there were thick concrete floors which had to be removed. Subsequently, the land also had to be converted to cultivable condition before handing it over to the farmers. It was challenging to carry out the work of conversion as well as documentation at the same time. But the officers tackled the situation skilfully.

“They didn’t take leave during Durga Puja and other festivals to complete the work on time. Thus, they will be getting leaves after the entire process of handing over the land is over,” she announced adding that Singur would become a place of interest for people from abroad and students would visit the place for research work.

The Bengal Chief Minister had earlier appreciated the work of all the departments involved in returning the land to farmers and the departments include agriculture, department, urban development and municipal affairs, public works, public health engineering, panchayat and rural development department. She had also appreciated the Hooghly district administration and police who had worked under the leadership of the District Magistrate and superintendent of police. During Wednesday’s visit, she further said that no one had turned up to claim 71 acre of land and around 846 acre of land have been distributed among its owners.

“There were some people who had taken cheques posing as owners of the plots during the Left Front regime,” she said adding that if there are any actual land owners they would get back their plots. It may be mentioned that she had said earlier in Singur on September 14 that steps would be taken against such people. She further said that steps would be taken to refill the channels which are passing through the land in Singur under the state government’s Jal Dharo Jal Bharo scheme.

বুধবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ঘোষণা করেন যে, যেসব অফিসাররা সিঙ্গুরের ৯৯৭ একর জমি চাষযোগ্য করে মালিকদের বিতরণ করার কাজের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ছিলেন তাদের নাম প্রদর্শিত হবে একটি বোর্ডে।

রাজ্য ইতিহাসে এই প্রথমবারের জন্য, কর্মকর্তাদের নাম একটি বোর্ডে প্রদর্শিত থাকবে নির্দিষ্ট সময়সীমার আগে তাদের কাজ সম্পন্ন করার জন্য।

তিনি জানান, “৯৯৭ একর জমির মধ্যে ৮৪৩ একর জমির জরিপের কাজ শেষ৷ সুপ্রিম কোর্টের রায় মেনে নির্ধারিত সময়ের আগেই জমি চাষযোগ্য করে তোলা হয়েছে৷ এ সবই সিডি করে আদালতে জমা দেবে রাজ্য৷

বুধবার জগদ্ধাত্রী পুজো উপলক্ষে চন্দননগরে গিয়েছিলেন মমতা৷ সেই ফাঁকে ঘুরে গেলেন সিঙ্গুরও৷ আদালতের রায়ের পর আগেও দু’দফা এসেছিলেন৷ গত মাসে চাষের কাজও শুরু করান৷ এদিন শেষ পর্বের কাজ পরিদর্শন করেন৷

গোটা বিষয়টির দায়িত্ব মূলত শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়ের হাতে দিয়েছিলেন মমতা৷ তাঁর ও রাজ্য সরকারের টিমের ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী৷ তিনি ঘোষণা করেন, “জমি চাষযোগ্য করার জন্য সিঙ্গুরে যাঁরা যাঁরা কাজ করেছেন, অফিসার থেকে কর্মী, সবাইকে সিঙ্গাপুর, হংকং, ব্যাংককের মতো বিদেশে যাওয়ার জন্য বাড়তি একটি এলটিসি দেবে রাজ্য৷ দরিদ্র কনস্টেবল ও সিভিক পু্লিশকে দশ হাজার টাকা করে পুরস্কার দেওয়া হবে৷ এছাড়া যে শহিদ মিনারটি তৈরি হবে সেখানে একটি পুস্তিকা থাকবে৷ আন্দোলনের নেতৃত্ব ছাড়াও চাষযোগ্য করার কাজ যাঁরা করলেন তাঁদের সবার নাম সেই পুস্তিকায় লেখা থাকবে৷”

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আরও জানান, “যাঁরা মনুমেন্ট দেখতে আসবেন তাঁরা স্টল থেকে পুস্তিকা, সিঙ্গুর আন্দোলন সম্পর্কিত বই, ছবি, অডিও, ভিডিও সিডি কিনতে পারবেন৷”

এদিন সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে তিনি আরও বলেন, “এই জমি চাষযোগ্য করতে পুজোর ছুটির সময়ও যাঁরা কাজ করেছিলেন, তাঁদের বাড়তি ছুটি দিয়ে দেওয়া হবে”।

The preparations for celebrating the Singur Diwas on September 14 are going on in full swing.

The state government has been working on the land survey work on a war footing following the order of the Chief Minister, who before undertaking her Europe tour had instructed the senior ministers to visit the place to inspect the progress in work.

During her absence, senior ministers had visited the spot and inspected the progress of land survey. They also reviewed the arrangements for the victory day celebration on September 14 when the Chief Minister is scheduled to take part in rally in Singur.

It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold a high level meeting with the senior ministers and the officials of the government at Nabanna to take a stock of the progress in the work.

আগামী ১৪ তারিখ সিঙ্গুর দিবস পালনের প্রস্তুতি চলছে জোরকদমে।

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশে প্রায় যুদ্ধকালীন তত্পরতায় জমি পর্যবেক্ষণের কাজ চলছে, উনি ইউরোপ যাওয়ার পূর্বেই মন্ত্রিদের নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন সিঙ্গুর গিয়ে কাজের গতি সরেজমিনে পরিদর্শন করতে।

গত এক সপ্তাহে বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রীরা সিঙ্গুর দিবস পালনের প্রস্তুতিও তদারকি করে এসেছেন।

আজ মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী নবান্নে মন্ত্রী ও আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে উচ্চপর্যায়ের একটি বৈঠক করবেন। সেই বৈঠকে সিঙ্গুরে জমি জরিপের কাজের অগ্রগতির খতিয়ান দেবেন আধিকারিকরা।

Setting a precedent in the country, the Urban Development department of Bengal has decided to hand over plots – along with the sanction plan – to set up structures on them at Gitabitan in Santiniketan.

Gitabitan project, named by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is coming up on 127 acre of land. Necessary amendments to the Building Rules will be made to facilitate the project. A tender will be floated after the Puja to find out the buyers.

The state government has decided to set up six townships in Santiniketan (Gitabitan on 127 acre), Baruipur (Uttam City on 86 acre), Asansol (Agnibina on 59 acre), Kalyani (Samriddhi on 51.4 acre) Howrah (Dumurjala on 51.4 acre) and Siliguri (Teesta on 84 acres).

The state government has also come up with a township policy. All the modern townships will have specific themes.

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর স্বপ্নের গীতবিতান থিম সিটিতে জমির সাথে স্যানক্শন প্ল্যান ও দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত রাজ্য সরকারের। তার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় সংশোধন করা হবে আবাসন আইনে। পুজোর পর বিজ্ঞপ্তি জারি করা হবে।

১২৭ একর জমির ওপর গড়ে উঠতে চলেছে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়ের নামকরণ করা গীতবিতান প্রকল্প।

রাজ্য সরকার ছয়টি থিম উপনগরী গড়ে তুলতে চায়: শান্তিনিকেতনে গীতবিতান (১২৭ একর), বারুইপুরে উত্তম নগরী (৮৬ একর), আসানসোলে অগ্নিবীণা (৫৯ একর), কল্যাণীতে সমৃধ্ধি (৫১.৪ একর), হাওড়াতে ডুমুরজালা (৫১.৪ একর) ও শিলিগুড়িতে তিস্তা (৮৪ একর)।

গীতবিতান এমন ভাবে তৈরী করা হবে যাতে শান্তিনিকেতনের পরিবেশ আরও সমৃদ্ধ হয়। এই উপনাগরিতে অত্যাধুনিক সব বন্দোবস্ত থাকবে পরিবেশ ও প্রযুক্তির মেলবন্ধন ঘটে।

State Industry and Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra Friday said health has returned to Haldia Petrochemicals Limited, which was going through a crisis sometimes back.

Speaking at Petrochem 2015, organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Dr Mitra said: ” I feel proud to say that today Haldia Petrochemicals Limited is functioning  at 95 percent of its capacity, which is a record. The company is getting orders from states like Delhi, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu and is creating around 3,500 direct and indirect jobs, while number of jobs downstream is close to 3 lakhs.  This means health has returned”.

The minister also said that the state is number one in reforms. “We have been rewarded by the Centre for reforms, which shows we are progressing”.

Dr Mitra urged industries to come forward and invest in the petrochemical sectors. “The per capita manufacturing capacity in the state for processed plastic is just 2.8 kgs while per capita consumption is nine kgs. So there is demand and I urge you to bridge this gap”.

The minister also appealed to industries to come up with a proposal and DPR for a petrochem cluster and assured all kinds of support for making the project a reality.

” You send us a proposal and we will consider it seriously”. trying to establish that land is not an issue in the state,the minister said we have around 4500 acres of land under WBIDC and also creating necessary infrastructures on another 4,400 acres. So getting land for setting up your unit won’t be a problem”.
