After the successful completion of the first two batches of the project, Sukanya that was taken up to provide self-defence training to schoolgirls, the Bidhannagar, Barrackpore and Howrah Police

Commissionerates have now taken steps to start the third batch.
Participants of all the three commissionerates will be felicitated at a programme to be held at Howrah Sarat Sadan on March 28. They will be given certificates.

It may be mentioned that the Sukanya project for all these three commissionerates was launched in July 2017. The project was introduced in the three commissionerates after it became immensely successful in Kolkata.

It is one of the dream projects of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the initiative has provided an international platform to the girls who underwent self-defence training. Six girls had participated in the Kickboxing World Cup in 2016 held in Russia and won five gold medals, two silvers and two bronzes.

In the first phase, girl students of 26 schools in the jurisdiction of the three police commissionerates underwent training and they will be performing at the March 28.

 

 

কৃতী সুকন্যাদের সংবর্ধিত করা হবে আজ

 

মেয়েদের আত্মরক্ষার প্রশিক্ষণ দিতে শহরের কিছু স্কুলগুলিকে নিয়ে কলকাতা পুলিশ চালু করেছিল ‘সুকন্যা’ প্রকল্প। সেই প্রকল্পের সাফল্যের পর ২০১৭ সালে বিধাননগর, ব্যারাকপুর এবং হাওড়া পুলিশ কমিশনারেটের অন্তর্গত ২৬টি স্কুলে শুরু করা হয় এই প্রকল্প।

এই প্রকল্পের প্রথম দুই ব্যাচের প্রশিক্ষণ শেষ হয়েছে। তৃতীয় ব্যাচের প্রশিক্ষণ শুরু হবে শীঘ্রই। আজ হাওড়ার শরৎ সদনে এই কৃতী সুকন্যাদের সংবর্ধিত করা হবে।
প্রসঙ্গত, ২০১৬ সালে ৬ জন সুকন্যা রাশিয়ায় অনুষ্ঠিত কিক-বক্সিং বিশ্বকাপে অংশগ্রহণ করে। এই প্রতিযোগিতায় তারা পাঁচটি সোনার পদক, দুটি রুপোর পদক, দুটি ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছিল।

After its immense success in Kolkata, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s dream project, Sukanya, which provides self-defence training to girls, is going to be introduced in the Bidhannagar, Howrah and Barrackpore police commissionerates.

Kolkata Police had introduced the project following the direction of the Chief Minister. Besides giving lessons in taekwondo, judo, kickboxing and aikido to make school girls self-reliant for their protection, the initiative has provided an international platform to the girls – they have won five golds, two silvers and two bronze medals in the 2016 Kickboxing World Cup held in Russia.

The same project will now be replicated in the three commissionerates. Initially, girl students from 25 schools from the three commissionerates will be given training. For example, 10 schools have been selected in Howrah, and 40 students from each school in two batches will be trained in the first six months. On completion of training, the girls will get a certificate.

রাজ্য সরকারের সুকন্যা প্রকল্প এবার তিন কমিশনারেটেও

কলকাতায় অভূতপূর্ব সাফল্যের পর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের স্বপ্নের সুকন্যা প্রকল্প এবার তিন কমিশনারেটেও – বিধাননগর, বারাকপুর ও হাওড়া – শুরু হবে। এই প্রকল্পে মেয়েদের আত্মসুরক্ষার প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়।

কলকাতা পুলিশ এই প্রকল্প শুরু করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশে। তাইকোন্ডো, কিকবক্সিং, জুডো, আইকিডো শেখানো হয় এই প্রকল্পে।

বাংলার সুকন্যারা পৌঁছেছে আন্তর্জাতিক স্তরে। সুকন্যা প্রকল্পে প্রশিক্ষণ প্রাপ্ত বাংলার মেয়েরা পাঁচটি সোনা, দুটি রুপো, দুটি ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছে ২০১৬ কিকবক্সিং বিশ্ব কাপে। এই বিশ্ব কাপ প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয় রাশিয়াতে।

প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ে ২৫টি স্কুলের মেয়েদের এই প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হবে। যেমন, হাওড়ায় ১০টি স্কুলে ৪০জন করে ছাত্রীকে দুটি ব্যাচে ছয় মাস ধরে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হবে। প্রশিক্ষণ শেষ হলে তারা পাবে শংসাপত্র।

Sukanya – Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s pet project to provide self-defence training to girls in the state – achieved a significant feat after five beneficiaries of the project from the city won five gold, two silver and two bronze medals at the Kickboxing WAKO World Cup 2016 held in Russia in September this year.

The five girls, from four schools and one college in the city, were part of a team of 62 players that represented India in the World Cup held from September 21 to 28.

Anushka Nath of Taki Government Girls’ High School won a gold medal in Light Contact segment and Kick Light segment each. Alisha Khan, a student of St Thomas’ Girls’ School, won a silver medal in Light Contact and a bronze medal in Kick Light segment.

Class X student Sahisnuta Sinha of Brahmo Balika Shikshalaya secured one gold medal in Kick Light and a silver medal in Light Contact segment.

Dipanita Roy of Surah Kanya Vidyalaya won a gold medal in Kick Light and a gold medal in Light Contact segment. Finally, Priya Das, a student of Behala College, won a Bronze medal in Light Contact segment.

Besides the students who received training under the Sukanya project, Pragya Sharma, who was supported by the Howrah Police Commissionerate, also won a gold medal in Kick Light segment and a silver medal in Point Fight segment.

 

রাশিয়া জয় করল বাংলার ‘সুকন্যা’ মেয়েরা

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের পছন্দের প্রকল্প ‘সুকন্যা’ – এর মাধ্যমে মেয়েদের আত্মরক্ষা করার প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়। ২০১৬ WAKO World Cup যা এই বছর সেপ্টেম্বর মাসে রাশিয়ায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে সেখানে এই প্রকল্পের অধীনে প্রশিক্ষিত ছাত্রীরা কিকবক্সিং-এ পাঁচটি স্বর্ণ, দুটি রৌপ্য এবং দুটি ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছে।

গত ২১-২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর অনুষ্ঠিত বিশ্বকাপে ভারতের ৬২ জন খেলোয়াড় প্রতিনিধিত্ব করেছিল তাঁর মধ্যে শহরের ৪টি স্কুল ও একটি কলেজ থেকে পাঁচটি জন মেয়ে অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল।

টাকি গভর্নমেন্ট গার্লস হাইস্কুলের অনুষ্কা নাথ লাইট কনট্যাক্ট সেগমেন্ট এবং কিক লাইট সেগমেন্ট দুটিতেই স্বর্ণ  পদক পেয়েছে। আলিশা খান, সেন্ট টমাস ‘গার্লস স্কুলের ছাত্রী লাইট কনট্যাক্ট সেগমেন্টে রুপোর পদক এবং কিক লাইট সেগমেন্টে ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছে।

ব্রাহ্ম বালিকা শিক্ষালয়ের দশম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী সহিষ্ণুতা সিনহা কিক লাইট সেগমেন্টে একটি স্বর্ণ পদক এবং লাইট কনট্যাক্ট সেগমেন্টে একটি রৌপ্য পদক জিতেছে।

সুর কন্যা বিদ্যালয়ের দীপান্বিতা রায় কিক লাইট সেগমেন্ট এবং লাইট কনট্যাক্ট সেগমেন্ট দুটিতেই স্বর্ণ পদক জিতেছে। বেহালা কলেজের ছাত্রী প্রিয়া দাস লাইট কনট্যাক্ট সেগমেন্টে ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছে।

‘সুকন্যা’ প্রকল্পের অধীনে প্রশিক্ষণ নেওয়ার পাশাপাশি প্রজ্ঞা শর্মা কিক লাইট সেগমেন্টে স্বর্ণ পদক এবং পয়েন্ট ফাইট সেগমেন্টে রুপোর পদক জিতেছে।

Sukanya, the dream project of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to provide self defence training to girl students, has reached a new height with five of its participants selected to represent India in Kick Boxing World Cup 2016 to be held in Russia.

Sukanya was initiated in 2014 by the Kolkata Police in collaboration with Women Development and Social Welfare department. On Friday, 2,500 girls, who underwent training on self defence in the third year of the project, received their certificates.

The five students who have been selected to represent India in the Kick Boxing World Cup are from four schools and one college in the city. Priya Das, a first year student of Behala College, Class X student Sahisnuta Sinha of Brahmo Balika Shikshalaya, Anushka Nath of Taki Government Girls’ High School, Dipanita Roy of Surah Kanya Vidyalaya and Alisha Khan of St Thomas’ Girls’ School were felicitated for success in Friday’s programme.

The Sukanya project had started with 646 students in some schools in the city. The number had gone up to 2,248 in the second year and in the third year some students from some colleges have joined the programme besides the school goers which took the number of participants to 2,500.

 

বাংলার ‘সুকন্যা’রা যোগ দেবে কিকবক্সিংয়ের বিশ্ব চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপে

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়ের স্বপ্নের সুকন্যা প্রকল্পের মাথায় নতুন পালক। এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় আত্মরক্ষার প্রশিক্ষণপ্রাপ্ত পাঁচ কন্যা কিকবক্সিং বিশ্বকাপে দেশের প্রতিনিধিত্ব করবে।

বেহালা কলেজের প্রথম বর্ষের ছাত্রী প্রিয়া দাস, ব্রাহ্ম বালিকা শিক্ষালয়ের দশম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী সহিষ্ণুতা সিনহা, টাকি গভর্নমেন্ট গার্লস হাই স্কুলের অনুষ্কা নাথ, শুঁড়া কন্যা বিদ্যালয়ের দীপান্বিতা রায়, সেন্ট থমাস গার্লস স্কুলের আলিশা খান রাশিয়ায় এই প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করবে।

রাজ্যের নারী কল্যাণ দপ্তরের সহযোগিতায় কলকাতা পুলিশের উদ্যোগে ২০১৪ সালে শুরু হয় সুকন্যা প্রকল্পটি। গত শুক্রবার এই প্রকল্পের তৃতীয় ব্যাচের ২৫০০ ছাত্রীকে শংসাপত্র দেওয়া হয়। প্রথম বছরে কলকাতার কয়েকটি স্কুলের ৬৪৬ জন ছাত্রীকে নিয়ে পথ চলা শুরু এই প্রকল্পের। দ্বিতীয় বর্ষে সেই সংখ্যা পৌঁছায় ২২৪৮য়ে আর তৃতীয় বর্ষে কলেজ পড়ুয়ারাও যোগ দেওয়ায় এখন মোট সুকন্যার সংখ্যা ২৫০০।
