West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee has been overwhelmed by the love and respect she received from the people Darjeeling during her recent trip there. She addressed a few party rallies and announced new development boards for some Hills communities.

The Chief Minister was in a relaxed mood on the last day, that is, yesterday. A part of the morning was spent at the Mall in Darjeeling. After taking a short walk under the soothing sun there, she paid a visit to Mahakal Temple. She then went to Richmond Hill.

Hundreds of people had lined up the streets with flowers in hands to greet Mamata Banerjee as she returned to Siliguri. It was obvious that the fervent request for the Chief Minister to come back was there in everybody’s hearts.

On the way back, the Chief Minister made an impromptu visit to a community programme of the Khambu Rais as well, where she was felicitated.

 

পাহাড়ের মানুষের সংবর্ধনায় আপ্লুত মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় তার দার্জিলিং সফরে পাহাড়ের মানুষদের থেকে পাওয়া ভালবাসা ও শ্রদ্ধায় আপ্লুত। এই সফরে তিনি দার্জিলিংএ কয়েকটি জনসভা করেন এবং পাহাড়ের জনসম্প্রদায়ের জন্যও উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ বোর্ডের ঘোষণা করেন।

গতকাল সকাল থেকেই খুব প্রাণোচ্ছল ছিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। সকালবেলা কিছু সময় তিনি দার্জিলিংএর ম্যালে কাটান। ম্যালে রোদে কিছুক্ষণ হেঁটেই চলে আসেন মহাকাল মন্দিরে৷ তারপর তিনি রিচমণ্ড হিলে চলে যান।

শিলিগুড়ি ফেরার পথে রাস্তায় বিভিন্ন জায়গায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর একঝলক দেখা পাওয়ার জন্য ফুল হাতে অপেক্ষারত ছিলেন শয়ে শয়ে পাহাড়বাসী৷ সবাই যেন বলছিলেন আবার এসো দিদি।

ফেরার সময়  লিম্বু রাইদের একটি অনুষ্ঠানে যান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী৷ লিম্বু সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজন এসে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে খাদা পরিয়ে সম্মান জানান৷
