Over the next two years, an amount of Rs 5,522 crore would be invested in Bangla, leading to the creation of more than one lakh direct and indirect jobs.

This was stated by the State Finance Minister, Dr Amit Mitra, during an address at a session organised by the CII.

He said that despite demonetisation and the hurried implementation of the GST, which were two massive blunders of the BJP-led Central Government, Bangla has been doing comparatively better under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee,.

While the GDP growth rate of the country has come down to as low as 5 per cent, the GSDP growth rate of Bangla has touched 12.58 per cent. Then, in Ease of Doing Business (EODB), Bangla stands at the second position among the states.

The rate of industrial production in Bengal has increased by 250 per cent over the last seven years, which is the period of the Trinamool Congress Government.

This fact came to the fore through a recent report, ‘Progress of the State’ (‘Rajyer Agragati’) published by the State Government. While it was 2.2 per cent in the 2011-12 fiscal, it has steadily increased to stand at 7.9 per cent in the 2017-18 fiscal.

Among other data presented in the report is the increase in yearly exports by value, from 711 crore US dollars to 825 crore US dollars, which is an increase of 16 per cent. A roadmap has already been prepared for doubling exports within the next three years.

A lot of stress is being given on promoting export-oriented activities, especially by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME). Suitable infrastructure is being built up.

According to the report, for exports, stress is being given on steel, gold, high-value metals, readymade garments and vegetables.

For the development of industrial infrastructure in Bengal, investment made in 2017 was Rs 989 crore, which was only Rs 243 crore in 2011. The State Government had made investments worth Rs 3,602.53 crore over the last seven years.

Investments for development of industrial infrastructure have also come about through the highly successful Bengal Global Business Summits. From 2015 to 2018, over the course of four summits, investment proposals worth Rs 9,48,568.77 crore have come about.

Over the last two years, Bengal has achieved a lot in terms of manufacturing and investment under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

According to data supplied by all the industry-related departments of the State Government, during financial year (FY) 2016-17, production has increased by 9.27 per cent, in contrast to the all-India growth of 7.91 per cent. Recently, a Central Government report put Bengal in the top position in terms of ‘Ease of Doing Business’.

Another area where Bengal is number one in the country is the number of man-days created as a result of employment generation through NREGA, popularly known as the 100 Days’ Work Scheme. The State created 144 crore man-days.

To make it easier for investors, the State Government brought about the Silpa Sathi Scheme. This scheme has created a single-window entry for investors. It has also brought about G2B, that is, Government-to-business, services.

In 2017, the State Government spent Rs 123 crore in creating and upgrading industrial parks and growth centres.
A deep-sea port is coming up in Tajpur. For a shipbuilding-cum-repairing yard in Kulpi, 5,603 acres have been allotted.

In Purulia, for a cement grinding plant and a 20 megawatt (MW) power plant of Shree Cement, 9,823 acres have been allotted. A plot of 89 acres has been granted to Gagan Ferrotech in Bardhaman for a 12 MW and an 8 MW power plant.

In the 2018-19 Budget, the Government has allotted Rs 98,657 crore towards industry, commerce and investment.

 

অভ্যন্তরীণ শিল্পে উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধি ৯.২৭%, সৃষ্টি হয়েছে ১৪৪ কোটি কর্মদিবস

বিগত দুবছরে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে শিল্প উৎপাদন ও বিনিয়োগের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাপক সাফল্য মিলেছে। রাজ্য সরকারের শিল্প সংক্রান্ত দপ্তরগুলির পরিসঙ্খ্যানে দেখা যাচ্ছে, অভ্যন্তরীণ শিল্প উৎপাদন ২০১৬-১৭তে বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে ৯.২৭ শতাংশ। গোটা দেশে এই বৃদ্ধির হার ৭.৯১ শতাংশ।

বাণিজ্যের অনুকূল পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি করার জন্য রাজ্য প্রথম স্থান অর্জনের স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের কাছে থেকে। শ্রম দপ্তরের পরিসংখ্যানের দাবি, একশো দিনের কর্মনিশ্চয়তা প্রকল্পে রাজ্যে ১৪৪ কোটি শ্রমদিবস সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। যা দ্বারা দেশের মধ্যে সর্বাধিক।

বন্ধ কলকারখানার শ্রমিকদের জন্য কর্মনিজুক্তিতে সুযোগ বৃদ্ধিতে উদ্দেশ্যে তাঁদের দক্ষতা বিকাশ সংক্রান্ত প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য প্রত্যেককে ১২ হাজার টাকা করে প্রদান করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। এর পাশাপাশি পাঠক্রমের জন্য বেতন ও প্রশিক্ষণ ব্যয়ও সরকার বহন করছে।

গত বছর থেকেই রাজ্যে শিল্পে বিনিয়োগের পথকে সহজ করতে শিল্পসাথী প্রকল্পে এক জানালা পোর্টাল শুরু করা হয়েছে। যা ব্যবসা, শিল্প সরলীকরণ ও সম্প্রসারণের কাজে সাহায্য করবে। এর পাশাপাশি শুরু হয়েছে জিটুবি পরিষেবা।

২০১৭-তে রাজ্যে ১২৩ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে শিল্প পার্ক উন্নয়ন ও গ্রোথ সেন্টার গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে। তাজপুরে তৈরী হচ্ছে গভীর সমুদ্রবন্দর। কুলপিতে জাহাজ নির্মাণ ও মেরামতির কারখানা এবং বন্দরে পণ্য পরিবহনের জন্য ৫৬০৩ একর জমি দেওয়া হয়েছে। পুরুলিয়ার রঘুনাথপুরে সিমেন্ট গ্রাইন্ডিং কারখানা ও ২০ মেগাওয়াটের বিদ্যুৎ প্রকল্পের জন্য ৯৮৩২ একর জমি বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে। বর্ধমানে ১২ মেগা ওয়াট ছাড়াও আরও ৮ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্রের জন্য ৮৯ একর জমি দেওয়া হয়েছে।

২০১৮-১৯ রাজ্য বাজেটে শিল্প, বাণিজ্য ও উদ্যোগ সংস্থা বিভাগের জন্য অর্থমন্ত্রী বরাদ্দ করেছেন ৯৮৬৫৭ কোটি টাকা।

Over the past three years, Bengal Global Business Summit has emerged as one of the foremost business summits in India. Some of the top industrialists have participated in these summits, along with several international companies.

The summits have brought substantial investments too, something that was unimaginable during the Left Front rule. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s vision of industrial growth and prosperity for Bengal is bearing fruit.

The first edition of this summit was organised on January 7 and 8, 2015. The summit received participation from 20 countries and regions including the UK, Japan, USA, Singapore, Australia, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Israel, Spain, Belarus, Czech Republic, Korea, Luxembourg and the neighbouring countries of Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. Captains of Indian industry and global entrepreneurs were invited to share their experiences and their future business plans for the state. Investment proposals worth Rs 2.4 lakh crore were received.

The second edition of the summit was held on January 8 and 9, 2016. It has plenary sessions addressed by dignitaries from India and abroad and national and international speakers who shared their thoughts and experiences. The summit also focused on B2B (business-to-business) and G2B (government-to-business) interactions. BGBS 2016 had the presence of industry leaders, senior ministers from India and abroad, heads of business, and government leaders from 26 countries including USA, UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, China, Korea, Bhutan, Bangladesh, etc. participated in the Summit. Living up to the tagline of ‘Bengal Surging Ahead’, BGBS 2016 concluded on a very high and optimistic note. Rs 2.50 lakh crore of business announcements, business document exchanges, expressions of interest and investment proposals were received at the summit.

The third edition of the summit, held on January 21 and 22, 2017, resulted in expressions of interest and investment proposals worth Rs 2.35 lakh crore. It was inaugurated by Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India, and plenary sessions were addressed by dignitaries and business leaders, from both India and abroad. There was participation by over 4,000 delegates from across India and 29 other countries. Japan, Poland, Italy & Germany were the partner countries.

 

ফিরে দেখা বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন ২০১৫-১৭

গত তিন বছরে দেশের অন্যতম সফল বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন হিসেবে আত্মপ্রকাশ করেছে বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন। অনেক শীর্ষস্থানীয় শিল্পপতি ও আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থা এই সম্মেলনে অংশ নিয়েছে। এসেছে বিপুল বিনিয়োগ। এই শিল্পমুখী পরিস্থিতি বাম আমলে ছিল কল্পনার অতীত। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় এই সুফল এসছে।

প্রথম বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন হয় ২০১৫ সালের ৭ ও ৮ জানুয়ারি। অংশ নেয় ২০টি দেশ: ব্রিটেন, জাপান, আমেরিকা, সিঙ্গাপুর, অস্ট্রেলিয়া, চিন, মালয়েশিয়া, তাইওয়ান, ইসরায়েল, স্পেন, বেলারুস, চেক রিপাবলিক, কোরিয়া, লুক্সেম্বরগ এবং প্রতিবেশী রাষ্ট্র বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল ও ভূটান। ভারতের পাশাপাশি বিদেশের নামী শিল্পপতিরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন এই সম্মেলনে। ২.৪ লক্ষ কোটি টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব আসে।

দ্বিতীয় বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ২০১৬ সালের ৮ ও ৯ জানুয়ারি। দেশ বিদেশের অতিথিরা তাদের অভিজ্ঞতা তুলে ধরেন এই সম্মেলনে। এই সম্মেলনে জোর দেওয়া হয়েছিল বিজনেস টু বিজনেস ও গভার্ন্মেন্ট টু বিজনেস আলোচনার ওপর। এই সম্মেলনে ২৬টি দেশ অংশ নেয়: আমেরিকা, ব্রিটেন, ইতালি, স্পেন, জার্মানি, জাপান, চিন, কোরিয়া, ভূটান, বাংলাদেশ ও অন্যান্য দেশ। সম্মেলনের ট্যাগ লাইন ছিল ‘বেঙ্গল সার্জিং অ্যাহেড’। এই সম্মেলনে ২.৫ লক্ষ কোটি টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব আসে।

তৃতীয় বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ২০১৭ সালের ২১ ও ২২ জানুয়ারি। ২.৩৫ লক্ষ কোটি টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব আসে। ভারতের তৎকালীন রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রনব মুখোপাদ্ধ্যায় উদ্বোধন করেন এই সম্মেলন। দেশ বিদেশের শিল্পপতিরা বক্তব্য রাখেন। ২৯ টি দেশ থেকে ৪০০০ এরও বেশী প্রতিনিধি অংশ নেন এই সম্মেলনে। জাপান, পোল্যান্ড, ইতালি ও জার্মানি ছিল সম্মেলনের পার্টনার দেশ।

For skill development of healthcare professionals employed with the Bengal Government, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the State Government’s Institute of Health and Family Welfare and the United Kingdom’s Department of Health’s Health Education England.

According to a communiqué, the initiative to sign the agreement was taken to ‘strengthen the collaborative relationship to support skill development of healthcare professionals in Bengal and the UK’, after ‘recognising the common healthcare challenges the two countries face and as well as the value of learning in a global context’.

The MoU will ensure sharing of expertise on education and training of healthcare professionals, including review, and upgradation, wherever required, of existing educational programmes, and development of new ones.

According to Health Department officials, the agreement will facilitate acquiring of best practices in healthcare education and practices by doctors of Bengal. in fact, it will be beneficial for both as it will be a continuous process of knowledge sharing.

স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীদের দক্ষতা বিকাশের লক্ষ্যে ইউকের সাথে মৌ স্বাক্ষর রাজ্যের

রাজ্য সরকারের স্বাস্থ্য কর্মীদের দক্ষতা বিকাশের জন্য ইউকের সাথে মৌ স্বাক্ষর করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। এই চুক্তিটি হয়েছে রাজ্যের ‘ইন্সটিটিউট অফ হেলথ অ্যান্ড ফ্যামিলি ওয়েলফেয়ার’ এর সাথে  ইউকের স্বাস্থ্য দপ্তরের ‘স্বাস্থ্যশিক্ষা ইংল্যান্ড’ এর।

বাংলা ও ইউকের সম্পর্ক আরও সুদৃঢ় করতে এবং স্বাস্থ্যক্ষেত্রের সাথে যুক্ত কর্মীদের দক্ষতা বিকাশের জন্যই এই উদ্যোগ। এই দুই দেশে স্বাস্থ্যপরিষেবা প্রদানের ক্ষেত্রে যে প্রতিকূলতা আছে তার মূল্যায়ন করে আন্তর্জাতিক স্তরে দুই দেশের সহযোগিতা আরও বাড়ানোও লক্ষ্য এই চুক্তির।

এই মউয়ের ফলে স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীদের দক্ষতা ও অভিজ্ঞতা আদান প্রদানের সুযোগ বাড়বে। এর ফলে বর্তমান স্বাস্থ্যশিক্ষার পরিকাঠামো যেমন উন্নীত করা যাবে তেমনই ভবিষ্যতে আরও নতুন কর্মসূচী চালু করার সুযোগও পাওয়া যাবে।

Dr Amit Mitra, state Finance minister expressed immense satisfaction over the response of the British and Scottish businessmen who attended the meetings with the Chief Minister in the past one week.

Talking to newsmen here on Friday afternoon, Dr Mitra said: “There was an overwhelming response from the investors. We have invited them to come to Bengal Global Business Summit scheduled to be held in January, 2018. They have shown interest in education, water purification and healthcare.”

Dr Mitra said Presidency University has already shown interest to collaborate with Edinburgh University in Life Science. “The Vice-Chancellor of Presidency University called up and has shown keen interest to collaborate in various fields of Life Science like Genetics. There will be joint research programmes and scholar exchange programmes.”

Dr Mitra said some firms have shown interest in water management like generation of electricity from tidal waves and supply of clean drinking water. “We have exchanged our views with them and their response is highly satisfactory,” he maintained. Edinburgh is developed in healthcare system and in two areas the businessmen present at the meeting had shown keen interest.

“One is the training programme for nurses and the other is providing expertise through video conferencing of medical treatment and surgery. In remote areas, we can take help of this technology,” he added. The British and Scot businessmen had B2B meetings with their counterparts in India.

Mamata Banerjee had addressed the businessmen at FICCI UKIBC roundtable at St. James Court Hotel in London on Monday. Again on Thursday, she addressed Scottish businessmen who attended a meeting organised by the Scottish Development International in collaboration with Asia Scotland Institute and Edinburgh Chambers of Commerce.

Highlighting Bengal as an emerging business destination, recovering from the rigours of 34-years of misrule by the erstwhile Left Front government, the Chief Minister was extremely passionate and proficient in her case studies which projected the sea changes that have been brought about by her government since she came to power in 2011.

In both the meetings, Mamata Banerjee had argued strongly in favour of investing in Bengal. She had said that the economic scenario in Bengal had improved over the past few years and it is now the ideal destination for investment. She had explained to the businessmen and investors about the land use policies, industrial policies framed by Bengal government and assured that availability of land will not be a problem.

লন্ডন এবং স্কটল্যান্ডের বাণিজ্য সফর সফল। লগ্নির একাধিক ইতিবাচক সম্ভাবনা নিয়েই রাজ্যে ফিরছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এবং তাঁর বাণিজ্য প্রতিনিধিদল। সাতদিনের সফরে এগুলিই প্রাপ্তি বলে শনিবার এডিনবরারহোটেলে জানালেন রাজ্যের শিল্প-বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র।

সফরের শেষদিন দুপুরে গোটা সফরের সারসংক্ষেপ নিয়ে সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হন অমিত মিত্র। তিনি বলেন, “মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে এই সফরে যে ৩০ জন শিল্পপতি এসেছেন, তাঁরা প্রত্যেকেই রাজ্যের বাণিজ্যেসবস্তরের  প্রতিনিধিত্ব করেন। ব্রিটেন-ভারত বিজনেস কাউন্সিলের বৈঠকে যে ব্রিটেনের সবচেয়ে বড় সংস্থা ব্রিটিশ টেলিকম সহ এত বড় বড় সংস্থার কর্ণধাররা উপস্থিত ছিলেন, সেটা অবশ্যই বড় প্রাপ্তি। কারণ, আমরা ভেবেছিলাম, ক্ষুদ্র এবং মাঝারি সারির সীমিত কিছু সংস্থা ওই বৈঠকে উপস্থিত থাকবে।”

“এছাড়া আরও বড় প্রাপ্তি হল, ওই সভায় স্বয়ং ব্রিটেনের প্রাক্তন বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী তথা স্ট্যান্ডার্ড চাটার্ডের প্রাক্তন চেয়ারম্যান ও সিইও লর্ড ডেভিসের উপস্থিতি এবং মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে মুখোমুখি আলোচনা। এই প্রথমভারতের কোনও অঙ্গরাজ্যের মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে দেখা করলেন তিনি। এটা অবশ্যই স্পেশাল। শিল্পমহলের এই উচ্ছ্বসিত সাড়ায় আমরা অভিভূত। আমরা এখন বিশ্ববঙ্গ শিল্প সম্মেলনে তাঁদের স্বাগত জানানোর জন্যঅপেক্ষা করছি,” বলেন অমিত মিত্র।

স্কটল্যান্ড সফরের ক্ষেত্রেও নিজেদের সাফল্য তুলে ধরতে মন্ত্রী বলেন, “আমরা ভেবেছিলাম এডিনবরার শিল্পবৈঠকে ২০-২৫টি সংস্থা থাকবে। কিন্তু বৃহস্পতিবার সেখানে ৮০টি সংস্থা উপস্থিত ছিল। এখান থেকেআমাদের তিনটি নতুন প্রাপ্তি। প্রথম, জল পরিশোধনের গবেষণাপ্রাপ্ত ফল স্কটল্যান্ড রাজ্যের সঙ্গে বিনিময় করতে রাজি হয়েছে। দ্বিতীয়ত, জোয়ার-ভাটা কাজে লাগিয়ে কীভাবে বিদ্যুৎ তৈরি হয়, তাতে সিদ্ধহস্তস্কটল্যান্ড। সেই প্রযুক্তিও আমাদের সঙ্গে তারা বিনিময় করবে বলে জানিয়েছে। তৃতীয়ত, ডান্ডির নার্সিং স্কুলে যাতে রাজ্যের পড়ুয়ারা নিজেদের উন্নত করতে আসতে পারে, সেজন্য ইতিবাচক কথাবার্তা হয়েছে।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, “এখানে শিল্পসংস্থাগুলির সঙ্গে রাজ্য সরকারের মুখোমুখি আলোচনা হয়েছে। এবার পালা, সংশ্লিষ্ট ক্ষেত্রে যে সব সংস্থা রাজ্যে কাজ করছে, তাদের সঙ্গে এই কোম্পানিগুলিকে মুখোমুখিআলোচনার রাস্তা তৈরি করে দেওয়া। আশা করছি, আসন্ন বিশ্ববঙ্গ শিল্প সম্মেলনেই সেই ব্যবস্থা করে ফেলতে পারব আমরা। কারণ, ইতিমধ্যে ডব্লুবিআইডিসি সেই তালিকা তৈরি করে ফেলেছে।”

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee returned to Kolkata from her England- Scotland tour on Saturday evening. She had left for England on November 10.

At Wimbledon she had unveiled a Blue Plaque at the house where Sister Nivedita lived before she had left for India at the end of 1897.

Mamata Banerjee also addressed a meeting which was attended by businessmen, bankers and educationists in London. It was organized by Ficci- UKIBC.

Steel baron LN Mittal invited her to his house and the two had a highly fruitful meeting. Mamata Banerjee invited Mittal to the Bengal Global Business Summit ( BGBS) which scheduled to be held in January 2018.

The CM also addressed a meeting organised by Scottish Development International in Edinburgh, Scotland where she pitched strongly in favour of investing in Bengal. She was accompanied on her United Kingdom trip by state Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra, Chief Secretary and a team of industrialists.

 

বিলেত সফরের পর কলকাতা ফিরলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

ইংল্যান্ড এন্ড স্কটল্যান্ড সফর সেরে কলকাতা ফিরলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। গত ১০ই নভেম্বর তিনি বিলেত সফরে যান।

এই সফরে তিনি উইম্বলডনে সিস্টার নিবেদিতার বাড়িতে ‘ব্লু প্লাক’ এর উন্মোচন করেন। লন্ডনে ফিকি ও উইকেআইবিসির উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত একটি বণিকসভায় বক্তব্যও রাখেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

স্টিল শিল্পের কর্ণধার লক্ষ্মী মিত্তলের সাথেও বৈঠক করেন তিনি। তাকে ২০১৮র বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে যোগ দেওয়ার আমন্ত্রণ জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

এরপর এডিনবরায় স্কটিশ ডেভেলপমেন্ট ইন্টারন্যাশনাল আয়োজিত একটি বাণিজ্য বৈঠকে অংশগ্রহণ করেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সফরসঙ্গী ছিলেন শিল্প-বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র, মুখ্যসচিব এবং একঝাঁক শিল্পপতি।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today attended a Business Meet organised by Scottish Development International with the support of Asia Scotland Institute and Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, at Edinburgh.

Top business houses of Scotland were present. The CM held a fine round of interaction with business leaders from Bengal on prospects of investment and doing business in the state.

Potential areas of collaboration included engineering, services, healthcare, education, tourism and hospitality, power and energy, life sciences and research, food processing, IT and ITeS.

 

Highlights of her speech:

  • Bengal and Scotland have a long history of cultural ties. Just like our past ties, I invite you to come to Bengal in future and invest in the State. We are trying to create an even more investment- friendly atmosphere.
  • I extend a warm welcome to you all to attend the Bengal Global Business Summit on 16-17 January, 2018. More than 30 countries are participating. Japan is our partner country.
  • There is a lot of scope for collaboration in various sectors – health, education, tourism, power and energy, life science and research, IT & ITES.
  • Bengal is the ultimate business destination. We have the economic potential, political stability. Bengal is the gateway to the North-Eastern States. You can also expand to Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, and Malaysia.
  • Our captains of industries have spoken already about their experience of doing business in Bengal. I need not blow the trumpet of my own government.
  • We have a legacy of 34 years of misrule by the Left. We ushered in political, economic, administrative and social reforms. Bengal’s Kanyashree – a scheme for the empowerment of the girl child – has won the United Nations Public Service Award.

আজ এডিনবরাতে শিল্প বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। সেখান থেকে তিনি বাংলায় লগ্নির আহ্বান জানান। তুলে ধরেন রাজ্যের শিল্প সম্ভাবনার নানা দিক।

কি বললেন তিনি এই বৈঠকে? দেখে নিন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশ:

  • স্কটল্যান্ড ও বাংলার সম্পর্ক বহু পুরোনো। ভারতে যখন ব্রিটিশ রাজ ছিল তখন কলকাতা ছিল তাদের রাজধানী। আপনাদের আহ্বান জানাই, ভবিষ্যতেও বাংলায় আসুন, শিল্প গড়ুন।
  • বিশ্ব বাংলা বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন ২০১৮ তে আপনাদের সাদর আমন্ত্রণ জানাই। ১৬-১৭ জানুয়ারী হবে এই সম্মেলন। ৩০টিরও বেশি দেশ আসবে এই সম্মেলনে। জাপান আমাদের পার্টনার দেশ।
  • বাংলায় লগ্নির সম্ভাবনা বিপুল। স্বাস্থ্য, শিক্ষা, বিদ্যুৎ, পর্যটন, জীব বিদ্যা ও গবেষণা, তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি সহ নানা ক্ষেত্রে লগ্নি করতে পারেন আপনারা।
  • বাংলাই এখন শিল্পের গন্তব্য। আমাদের অর্থনৈতিক সম্ভাবনা বিপুল। রাজ্যে রাজনৈতিক স্থিতিশীলতাও রয়েছে। উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারত সহ বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল, ভূটান, মায়ানমার, থাইল্যান্ড, মালয়েশিয়ার গেটওয়ে বাংলা।
  • আমি নিজেই নিজের সরকারের প্রশংসা করবো না। আমাদের ‘ক্যাপ্টেনস অফ ইন্ডাস্ট্রি’রা ইতিমধ্যেই বাংলায় বাণিজ্যের অভিজ্ঞতার কথা বলেছেন।
  • বাংলায় ৩৪ বছরের বাম অপশাসনের পর রাজনৈতিক, অর্থনৈতিক, প্রশাসনিক, সামাজিক সংস্কারের কাজ হয়েছে। মেয়েদের ক্ষমতায়নের জন্য বাংলার কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্প পেয়েছে রাষ্ট্রসংঘের পাবলিক সার্ভিস পুরস্কার।
  • সদ্যসমাপ্ত অনুর্ধ্ব ১৭ বিশ্বকাপ ফুটবল জিতেছে ইংল্যান্ড। এই প্রতিযোগিতার কোয়ার্টার ফাইনাল, সেমি ফাইনাল ও ফাইনাল খেলা কলকাতায় হয়েছে। আমি নিজে বিজয়ীদের পুরস্কার তুলে দিতে পেরেছি বলে গর্ব বোধ করছি।
  •  বাংলার জিডিপি গ্রোথ ভারতের জাতীয় হারের থেকে বেশি। শিল্প, কৃষি, পরিষেবা – সব ক্ষেত্রেই বাংলার বৃদ্ধির হার জাতীয় হারের চেয়ে বেশি।
  • এডিনবরা একটি জনপ্রিয় শিক্ষার হাব। আমরা চাই আপনারা বাংলার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলির সাথে কোলাবোরেট করুন। বাংলার মেধা বিশ্ব বিখ্যাত।
  • বাংলার ল্যান্ড ম্যাপ ও ল্যান্ড ব্যাঙ্ক আছে।  আমাদের ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্প নীতি আছে, বস্ত্রশিল্প নীতি আছে, পর্যটন নীতি আছে। দক্ষতা বিকাশে বাংলা এক নম্বরে। বাংলাই ভারতের সাংস্কৃতিক রাজধানী।

Bengal Finance and Industries Minister Dr Amit Mitra made a major announcement yesterday from the UK, where he has gone as part of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s entourage for meeting potential investors for Bengal as well as for inviting prominent industrialists to the upcoming Bengal Global Business Summit.

He announced that Mitsubishi Chemicals is going to set up a large-capacity plant for manufacturing components required in the textile industry.

Explaining the process, he said that the PTA (purified terephthalic acid) made by the company would be converted through the process of continuous polymerisation in the plant to fibre, which would then be converted by spinning mills into the textile components.

The plant is going to provide employment opportunities for 50,000 to 1 lakh people. This number would be gradually upped to 5 lakh. The minister said that work is going to start on a priority basis.

The initial investment amount would be Rs 5,000 crore, which would be scaled up to Rs 10,000 crore in due course.

Dr Mitra said that Bengal would soon be at the forefront of the textile sector in the country.

 

রাজ্যে ৫ হাজার কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করবে মিৎসুবিশি: অমিত মিত্র

রাজ্যের বস্ত্রশিল্পে এবার বিনিয়োগ আসছে মিৎসুবিশির হাত ধরে। এ বার রাজ্যে পলিয়েস্টার ফ্যাব্রিক তৈরি করবে মিৎসুবিশি। এর জন্য ৫ হাজার কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করবে তারা। ফলে ৫০ হাজার থেকে ১ লক্ষ কর্মসংস্থান তৈরি হবে।

মিৎসুবিশি কেমিক্যাল কর্পোরেশন ইন্ডিয়া এই প্রথম একটি বাইপ্রডোক্ট তৈরি করবে। নাম পিটিএ অর্থাৎ পিউরিফায়েড টেরিপ্যাথিলিক অ্যাসিড। এই বাইপ্রোডাক্ট থেকেই পলিয়েস্টার ফ্যাব্রিক তৈরি করা যাবে।

এতদিন রাজ্যে এধরনের ফ্যাব্রিক তৈরি হত না। মিৎসুবিসি তা তৈরি করা শুরু করলে বাংলাদেশে রফতানিও বিপুল বাড়বে বলে আশাবাদী শিল্পমন্ত্রী। রাজ্যে বস্ত্রশিল্পের নবদিগন্ত খুলতে চলেছে।

মঙ্গলবার রাতে লন্ডনে বৈঠক সেরে ট্রেনে করে এডিনবরার উদ্দেশে রওনা দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।বৃহস্পতিবার এডিনবরায় বসছে রাজ্যের বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন। সেখানে বাংলার সাম্প্রতিক উন্নয়নের খতিয়ান শিল্পপতিদের জানানো হবে।

তার আগে মিৎসুবিসির এই বিনিয়োগের আশ্বাস রাজ্যের বাড়তি পাওনা বলেই মনে করছে শিল্পমহলের একাংশ।

Britannia Industries of Wadia Group has announced a plan to set up a greenfield unit in West Bengal – its second in the State – by 2018.

The company is looking forward to the manufacturing unit in the State as the demand for its products is growing. Britannia currently has only one manufacturing unit, in Taratala, which is one of the oldest units of the biscuit giant.

The company plans to invest Rs 100-150 crore in the new plant.

বাংলায় দ্বিতীয় ইউনিট তৈরির পরিকল্পনা ব্রিটানিয়ার

রাজ্যে নতুন করে বিনিয়োগ করে আগামী ২০১৮ সালের মধ্যে আরও একটি কারখানা তৈরির পরিকল্পনা ব্রিটানিয়া ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজের।

বর্তমানে তারাতলায় এই সংস্থার একটি কারখানা রয়েছে। যেহেতু পণ্যের চাহিদা বাড়ছে ভবিষ্যতে রাজ্যের অন্য কোথাও নতুন কারখানা খোলার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে এই সংস্থার।

এই নতুন প্ল্যান্টে ১০০-১৫০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে কোম্পানির। এর জন্য ২০ একর জমির প্রয়োজন।
