Following the instruction of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the State Government has decided to lay underground cables for the transmission of television and internet services across the 126 municipalities and six municipal corporations.

The project would be overseen by the State Government’s Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department. The cables would be laid by the process of microtunnelling.

Soon, the department would hold meetings with multi-system operators (MSO), cable operators and telecom firms, for whom the cables would be laid, to explain to them the government’s stand as well as listen to their suggestions. It has been decided, as of now, that a certain amount of money would have to be paid by them in lieu of the work to be done by the government.

The initiative is under the newly-introduced scheme, Green City Mission, which aims at developing sustainable and eco-friendly ‘Green and Clean Cities’ and planned development of all the municipal cities and towns of Bengal.

 

রাজ্য জুড়ে টিভি-ইন্টারনেটের কেবল নেওয়া হবে ভূগর্ভ দিয়ে

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নির্দেশে এবার রাজ্য জুড়ে টিভি চ্যানেল এবং ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবার কেবল মাটির নীচ দিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে।

রাজ্যের ১২৬টি পুরসভা এবং ছ’টি পুরনিগম এলাকাতেই এই ব্যবস্থা করা হবে। পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী বলেন, মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এই কেবল মাটির তলা দিয়ে করার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন। গ্রিন সিটি প্রকল্পের আওতায় সমস্ত পুরসভায় এই কাজ করা হবে।

মাইক্রো টানেলিং ব্যবস্থার মাধ্যমে এই প্রকল্প করা হবে। ফুটপাথের তলা দিয়ে এই মাইক্রো টানেলগুলি বসানো হবে। তার মধ্যে দিয়ে কেবলগুলি নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে।

খুব শীঘ্রই এবিষয়ে পুরসভাগুলি, এমএসও এবং কেবল অপারেটরগুলি সঙ্গে বৈঠক করা হবে। এই কাজ করার জন্য কেবল অপারেটর, টেলিকম সংস্থা বা এমএসও’দের পুরসভাকে একটা টাকা দিতে হবে। পাশাপাশি তাদের এবিষয়ে কি কি দাবি আছে তাও শোনা যাবে।

The state Technical Education department has taken up a major step in upgrading the ITIs. The project has been taken up with support from the World Bank.

A good number of ITIs are being selected for upgradation and the work has already started. It is learnt that in the first phase around 28 ITIs will be upgraded.

The upgradation of the ITIs includes setting up of smart class rooms along with high-speed internet connection which will ensure knowledge sharing through video conferencing.

It may be mentioned that in 2011 there were only 80 ITIs in the state where only 17,636 students used to get opportunity to undertake training every year. After the change of guard in the state, the Mamata Banerjee government has set up a total of 235 ITIs where 66,740 students can undertake different training courses.

Similarly, total number of polytechnic colleges has also increased. There were only 65 polytechnic colleges in the state in 2011 and now it has increased to 147 where 37,315 students can get admission in a year. Moreover, there are 289 advanced vocational training centres now in the state.

 

আইটিআইয়ের পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়ন পাখির চোখ রাজ্যের

বিশ্ব ব্যাঙ্কের সহায়তায় বেশ কয়েকটি আইটিআইয়ের পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়ন করবে রাজ্য কারিগরি শিক্ষা দপ্তর। প্রথম দফায় ২৮টি আইটিআইয়ের উন্নয়ন করা হবে।

এই পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের মধ্যে রয়েছে স্মার্ট ক্লাসরুম তৈরী ও হাই স্পীড ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবার স্থাপন। এর মাধ্যমে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমেও পঠনপাঠন করতে পারবে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা।

প্রসঙ্গত ২০১১ সাল পর্যন্ত সারা রাজ্যে মাত্র ৮০টি আইটিআই ছিল, যেখানে মাত্র ১৭,৬৩৬ জন ছাত্রছাত্রী প্রতি বছর প্রশিক্ষণ নেওয়ার সুযোগ পেতেন। কিন্তু মাত্র ছ’বছরে রাজ্যে আইটিআইয়ের সংখ্যা বেড়ে হয়েছে ২৩৫টি, যেখানে ৬৬,৭৪০জন ছাত্রছাত্রী প্রশিক্ষণ নিতে পারেন বিভিন্ন কোর্সে।

২০১১ পর্যন্ত মাত্র ৬৫টি পলিটেকনিক কলেজ ছিল রাজ্যে, যা বেড়ে হয়েছে ১৪৭। ৩৭,৩১৫জন ছাত্র প্রতি বছর এখানে পড়ার সুযোগ পায়। এছাড়া এই মুহূর্তে রাজ্যে ২৮৯টি পেশামূলক শিক্ষা কেন্দ্র আছে; রাজ্য সরকার এইরকম কেন্দ্র ব্লকে ব্লকে গড়তে চায়।

The Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal Government has come up with yet another project to better the already-shining education sector of the State.

The first Centre for Potential Upgradation (CPU) for primary school teachers will come up at Vidyasagar Bhavan in Suri, the headquarters of Birbhum District Primary School Council. This first-of-its-kind centre would start operations by this March.

The idea behind such centres is to upgrade the skills of teachers teaching in primary schools. They will have modern facilities for studying, reading and collecting data through the internet, and computers. Each centre will also have a library stuffed with relevant journals, magazines and research works on education.

There are orientation courses for school and college teachers, and for university-level faculty members. Now primary school teachers would also be able to upgrade their skills.

Over the course of the last almost five years, 15 universities and 46 colleges have been set up by the Trinamool Congress Government. Around 3 lakh seats have been created in higher education. Two thousand five hundred primary and 3500 middle schools have been set up, and 1815 high schools have been developed.

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় নেতৃত্বাধীন পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের শিক্ষা দপ্তর আরও একটি অভিনব প্রকল্প শুরু করতে চলেছে ।

প্রাথমিক স্তরের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদের দক্ষতা উৎকর্ষের জন্য রাজ্যের প্রথম সেন্টার ফর স্কিল আপগ্রেডেশান শুরু হতে চলেছে। সিউড়ির বিদ্যাসাগর ভবনে বীরভূম জেলা প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা কেন্দ্রের সদর দপ্তরে শুরু হতে চলেছে। রাজ্যে প্রথম এই ধরনের কেন্দ্র তৈরি হচ্ছে। আগামী মার্চ মাসের মধ্যেই এর কাজ শুরু হবে।

এই কেন্দ্রগুলিতে পড়াশোনার জন্য যথেষ্ট সুযোগ সুবিধা থাকবে – বই, ম্যাগাজিন, জার্নাল, ইন্টারনেট সুবিধা যুক্ত কম্পিউটার ইত্যাদি।

স্কুল, কলেজ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক শিক্ষিকাদের পর এবার প্রাথমিক স্কুলের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদেরও অরিয়েন্টেশন কোর্স করার সুবিধাও থাকবে সেখানে।

তৃণমূল সরকার গত পাঁচ বছরে ১৫ টি বিশ্ব বিদ্যালয় এবং ৪৬ টি কলেজ তৈরি করেছে। প্রায় ৩ লাখ আসন উচ্চশিক্ষার জন্য তৈরি করা হয়েছে। ২৫০০ প্রাথমিক ও ৩৫০০ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় স্থাপন করা হয়েছে, এবং ১৮১৫টি উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় উন্নত করা হয়েছে।

WB Assembly is set to be the first Assembly in the Country to be WiFi enabled.

Keeping with technology, the Assembly is also digitising its records. The members will immensely benefit once the Assembly will be fully equiped with these facilities and in full function.

During the launch of 4G enabled WiFi service in Park Street earlier this month, WB CM Ms Mamata Banerjee had announced that Kolkata will be fully WiFi service enabled within the next two months.

Kolkata is the first metro city with a 4G enabled high-speed internet service. As per the Chief Minister, once the installation work is complete, Kolkata will turn into a networked society — smart, simple and secure.

Kolkata will become India’s first fully Wi-Fi enabled metro city in the next two or three months. West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee made the landmark announcement at the inauguration ceremony of the 39th Kolkata International Book Fair.

As soon as WB CM made this announcement in Twitter, tweets started pouring in hailing this landmark decision. The tweets ranged from praise to messages thanking the Chief Minister. Most users were excited that Kolkata would become the first fully Wi-Fi enabled metro city in India.
