The Bengal Government is setting up a food processing unit in Haringhata in Nadia district to process goat meat. There is huge demand for the item in Bengal and this plant will satisfy part of that demand.

West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation is setting up the plant on a plot of 2 acres. Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned for the project.

The unit would have the capacity to process 300 goats at a time, that is, in each of the six-hour shifts. The meat would be packed in 500 gram and 1 kilogram packets. At full capacity, it is expected for the plant to produce 2.5 tonnes of packed meat per day.

This plant is the result of the success of a pilot project through which goat meat was being sold from the Haringhata Meat outlets. After the plant becomes operational, the meat would be sold from 240 outlets across the state.

মাংসের বিপুল চাহিদা মেটাতে খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ প্ল্যান্ট হচ্ছে হরিণঘাটায়

রাজ্যে খাসির মাংসের বাজার ধরতে হরিণঘাটায় নতুন প্ল্যান্ট তৈরি করছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ প্রাণিসম্পদ উন্নয়ন নিগম। নতুন প্ল্যান্টে একসঙ্গে ৩০০টি খাসি প্রসেসিং করার পরিকাঠামো তৈরি করা হচ্ছে।

এতদিন হরিণঘাটা মিটের আউটলেটে প্রসেসিং করা চিকেন বিক্রি করা হত। এবার থেকে এক কেজি এবং ৫০০ গ্রামের প্যাকেট করে খাসির মাংস বিক্রি করা হবে। কিছুদিন যাবৎ পরীক্ষামূলকভাবে কয়েকটি আউটলেট থেকে সামান্য পরিমাণে খাসির মাংস বিক্রি করা হয়েছিল। সেটারই বিপুল চাহিদা দেখেই রাজ্যের সর্বত্র খাসির মাংস সরবরাহ করার জন্য এই নতুন প্ল্যান্ট তৈরির সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। সব কিছু ঠিকঠাক থাকলে আগামী এপ্রিল মাস থেকেই প্ল্যান্ট চালু হয়ে যাবে।

২ একর জমি নিয়ে প্ল্যান্ট তৈরি করা হচ্ছে। প্ল্যান্ট তৈরির জন্য প্রায় ৩ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে। মূলত মেশিনে খাসি কাটা হবে। প্রতিদিন প্ল্যান্ট থেকে প্রায় আড়াই টন মাংস পাওয়া যাবে।

মেশিন বসে গেলে আপাতত বাজার থেকেই খাসি কিনে তা প্রসেস করা হবে। তখন ২৪০টি আউটলেট থেকেই খাসির মাংস পাওয়া যাবে।

Haringhata Meat, a unit of the State Animal Resources Development Department, has decided to rear chickens for selling the meat. Earlier, only eggs used to be sold.

With this increased supply of meat, the government is confident that the price of chicken would come down to be within the reach of most people in the state.

Varieties of chicken having tasty meat are being reared at a farm in Jalpaiguri spread over 22 acres. It is an air-conditioned (AC) farm having some of the latest technologies, built at a cost of Rs 12 crore.

West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation Limited is behind the maintenance, selling and marketing of this meat, to be sold under the brand name of Haringhata Meat.

Cobb-400 chicken has been bought to prepare the broiler meat. They are costly as well as their maintenance. At the AC farm in Jalpaiguri, there is space for 30,000 chickens to be reared. Government sources say that the facility can produce up to 50 lakh hatchlings per year. Availability of so much chicken would naturally lower the prices all over the state.

 

এসি ঘরে মুরগি চাষ করবে হরিণঘাটা মিট

বর্তমানে মুরগি চাষের জন্য রাজ্য সরকারের হাতে ২৭টি ফার্ম আছে। প্রাণিসম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তরের আওতায় সেসব মুরগি চাষ হয় রাজ্যের নানা প্রান্তে। কিন্তু সেই মুরগিগুলি পালন করা হয় শুধু ডিম দেওয়ার জন্য। তাদের মাংস বেচে তেমন আয় হয় না সরকারের।

তাই মাংস উৎপাদনে এবার বিশেষ উদ্যোগ নিচ্ছে সরকারি সংস্থা হরিণঘাটা মিট। সুস্বাদু মাংস পাওয়া যাবে, এমন মুরগির চাষ করতে জলপাইগুড়িতে ২২ একর জমি নেওয়া হয়েছে। শীতাতপ নিয়ন্ত্রিত ঘরে ১২ কোটি টাকা খরচে মুরগি চাষ করবে হরিণঘাটা মিট। এই উদ্যোগে বাজারে মুরগির দাম কমবে বলে দাবি তাদের।

যে মুরগি মূলত মাংসের জন্য চাষ হয়, তাকে বলা হয় ব্রয়লার চিকেন। এখনও কোনও সরকারি পরিকাঠামো নেই, যেখানে ব্রয়লার চিকেন পাওয়া যেতে পারে। সেই উদ্যোগটিই এবার নিচ্ছে হরিণঘাটা মিট।

ওয়েস্ট বেঙ্গল লাইভ স্টক ডেভেলপমেন্ট কর্পোরেশনের ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর বলেন, জলপাইগুড়ির জেটিয়াখালিতে ২২ একর জায়গা নেওয়া হয়েছে। ‘কব ৪০০’ প্রজাতির মুরগি কেনা হয়েছে মহারাষ্ট্রের পুনে থেকে। তা যেমন দামি, তার লালনপালনও কঠিন কাজ। ৩০ হাজার মুরগি চাষ করার জন্য বিশেষ ঘর তৈরি হবে। সেখানে শুধু তাপমাত্রা নিয়ন্ত্রিত হবে না, এর পাশাপাশি ঘরে বাতাসের জলীয় বাষ্প এবং বাতাসের অভিমুখও নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা হবে। এই প্রথম সরকারি উদ্যোগে সেখানে কৃত্রিম প্রজনন হবে মুরগির। প্রজননের পর ডিমগুলি নিয়ে হ্যাচারিতে বাচ্চা ফোটানো হবে। সেগুলি ব্যবহার করা হবে ব্রয়লার চিকেন উৎপাদনের জন্য।

The West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation (WBLSDC) will expand its chain of takeaway meat shops – Kaviar – across Kolkata and across seven districts (Purba Bardhaman, Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Birbhum and Howrah). They sell both frozen raw meat and dressed and processed meat items.

Apart from chicken and mutton, unconventional meat like rabbit, dressed peking duck and dressed turkey will be available, he further said. The shops will also sell ready-to-eat meat dishes.

Exotic dishes like gandhoraj rabbit, duck mussallam and duck roast are already offered at the Kaviar outlets in operation.

The planned prices of the raw meats per kilogram are as follows:

  • Quail (five pieces) – Rs 220
  • Duck – Rs 350
  • Lamb – Rs 480
  • Turkey – Rs 510
  • Rabbit – Rs 550
  • Goat – Rs 550

 

Looking at the popularity of cooked meat dishes at the recently-held Ahare Bangla food festival in Kolkata, the WBLSDC authorities have planned to cash in on that.

এবার পশ্চিমবঙ্গ প্রাণিসম্পদ বিকাশ নিগমের বিভিন্ন দোকান থেকে পাওয়া যাবে মাংসের সম্ভার। মুর্গী ও পাঁঠার মাংস ছাড়াও এখানে থাকবে আরও অন্য ধরনের মাংস। কাঁচা মাংস ছাড়াও পাওয়া যাবে রান্নাকরা পদও।

কিলো প্রতি মাংসের দাম:

কোয়েল (৫ পিস) – ২২০ টাকা

হাঁস – ৩৫০ টাকা

ভেড়া – ৪৮০ টাকা

টার্কি – ৫১০ টাকা

খরগোশ – ৫৫০ টাকা

ছাগল – ৫৫০ টাকা

এছাড়াও, পশ্চিমবঙ্গ প্রাণিসম্পদ বিকাশ নিগমের স্টলের সংখ্যা বাড়ানো হবে কলকাতা ও আরও সাতটি শহরে। পূর্ব বর্ধমান, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, আলিপুরদুয়ার, জলপাইগুড়ি, বীরভূম এবং হাওড়ায় জেলাসাশকের দপ্তরের চত্বরেই এই ক্যাভিয়ার দোকান খোলা হচ্ছে।

Haringhata Meat, run by the Department of Animal Husbandry of the Bengal Government, set up stalls at Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata to sell healthy snacks. Popular food items like chicken cutlet, kebabs, nuggets, chicken sausage, chicken popcorn, etc were sold at attractive prices.

The stalls were a big hit with people. The high-quality food at affordable prices attracted a lot of customers. So much so that Haringhata Meat made sales worth Rs 8 lakh. This is the first time that the organisation set up stalls during Durga Puja.

A total of 13 stalls were opened at 13 big-budget Pujas including at Naktala Udayan Sangha, Suruchi Sangha, Tala Park Puja Committee and Baghbazar Sarbojanin.

In recent years, Haringhata Meat has opened numerous outlets all over the state. Some are run directly by the organisation while most are rune on a franchisee basis, though under strict supervision by Haringhata Meat.

Ready-made food items have already become a rage at ‘Haringhata Meat’ outlets in the city. Apart from raw meat, snacks like chicken cutlet or kebabs are popular among people at these outlets.

পুজোয় প্রথম স্টল খুলেই ৮লক্ষ টাকার বিক্রি হরিণঘাটা মিটের

এবার পুজোয় মণ্ডপে মণ্ডপে দর্শনার্থীদের রসনাতৃপ্তি করে বাজিমাত করল ‘হরিণঘাটা মিট’। একাধিক পুজো মণ্ডপে প্রথমবার স্টল দিয়ে ফুল মার্ক্স পেয়েছে রাজ্য সরকারের এই সংস্থা। ষষ্ঠী থেকে দশমী পর্যন্ত স্টলগুলিতে যা বিক্রি হয়েছে তা পশ্চিমবঙ্গ প্রানিসম্পদ উন্নয়ন নিগমের কর্তারাও আশা করেননি।

নিগম সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, পুজোর আগে ঠিক হয়েছিল হরিণঘাটা মিটের পক্ষ থেকে কলকাতার বেশ কয়েকটি বিগ বাজেটের পুজো মণ্ডপে এবার স্টল দেওয়া হবে। কোনও ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজি নয়, নিগমের কর্মীরা এই স্টলগুলি চালাবে বলে ঠিক হয়। সেইমতো ১৩টি পুজো মণ্ডপে স্টল খোলা হয়। এই ১৩টি মণ্ডপের ১৩টি স্টল থেকে পাঁচদিনে বিক্রি হয়েছে ৮ লক্ষ টাকার।

হরিণঘাটা মিটের কলকাতাসহ রাজ্য জুড়ে অসংখ্য আউটলেট রয়েছে। নিগমের কয়েকটি নিজস্ব রয়েছে। এছাড়া ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজির মাধ্যমে অধিকাংশ আউটলেটগুলি চলছে। এইসব আউটলেটে প্রসেস করা কাঁচা মাংসের পাশাপাশি প্রসেস করা কাটলেট, সসেজ, নাগেটস, কাবাব পাওয়া যায়। ক্রেতারা এইসব জিনিস কিনে নিয়ে বাড়িতে ভেজে খেতে পারেন।

পুজোর সময় নিগমের দেওয়া স্টলগুলিতে দর্শনার্থীদের রসনাতৃপ্তি ঘটাতেই স্টলের মধ্যে ভেজে দেওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। ঠিক হয় এই স্টলগুলিতে অন্যান্য খাবারের পাশাপাশি স্যান্ডুইচ, কোয়েলের বিরিয়ানিও রাখা হবে। তাই বহু দর্শনার্থী ঠাকুর দেখার পর পছন্দের ডিশ খেতে এই স্টলে এসে ভিড় জমিয়েছিলেন।

The West Bengal Government has ventured to produce bottled drinking water Pran Dhara with seven bottling plants across the state. The Public Health & Engineering Department, responsible for supplying safe drinking water to all the people of the state has done a record amount of work though it had to create proper infrastructure.

The seven plants producing around three thousand bottled water per hour are at Haringhata, Nodakhali, Baharampur, Maldah, Siliguri and Coochbehar. Two more plants are being set up soon. The 1 lt bottle will cost Rs 18 while the 500 ml bottle will cost Rs 9.

State Public Health & Engineering Minister Subrata Mukherjee said that Pran Dhara is using surface water from the Hooghly River, which is being processed to get rid of all impurities and harmful elements through proper scientific processes of distillation.

It has been experienced during relief works that water pouches produced through Mobile Treatment Units (MTU) are very useful for easy distribution of drinking water to the stranded people, but this type of packaging is not sustainable for a long time and also may get damaged due to leaking/bursting of poly packs.

To overcome these difficulties, the Public Health Engineering Department introduced ‘Pran Dhara’. For the first time this type of Package Drinking Water Plant was installed at Dakshin Roypur Water Treatment Plant Complex in the year 2012-13 in accordance with BIS Specifications. Capacity of this plant is 3600 Bottles of 1000 ml or 500 ml per hour.
