West Bengal Chief Minister and All India Trinamool Congress Chairperson, Mamata Banerjee has crossed a new milestone on social media. Her Facebook profile recently crossed 2 million ‘likes’.
In the course of her formidable presence on Facebook, she has achieved significant firsts like being the first politician in India to have a 360-degree video of her rally up on her page. Her ‘Facebook Q&A’ generated an overwhelming response from the audience. Both of these happened last April, as part of the campaign for the Assembly elections.
Mamata Banerjee has been one of the pioneering politicians in India in terms of using the power of social media to communicate her and her Government’s and party’s views to the people. She has a strong presence on Twitter too.

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এবং সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সুপ্রিমো মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় এক নতুন নজির গড়লেন। সম্প্রতি তার ফেসবুক প্রোফাইলে লাইকের সংখ্যা ২০ লক্ষ অতিক্রম করল।
ফেসবুকে তার দুর্দান্ত উপস্থিতির পাশাপাশি তিনি ভারতের প্রথম রাজনীতিক যার ফেসবুক পেজে তার পদযাত্রার ৩৬০ ডিগ্রি ভিডিও আছে। এছাড়া তার ফেসবুক লাইভও ব্যাপক সাড়া পেয়েছে। গত এপ্রিল মাসে বিধানসভা নির্বাচনের প্রচারের অংশ হিসেবে এই দুটি হয়েছে।
সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ার মাধ্যমে জনগণের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করতে, এছাড়া সরকারের এবং দলের মতামত মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছে দিতে ভারতের জনপ্রিয় রাজনীতিবিদদের মধ্যে তিনি একজন। টুইটারেও তার জনপ্রিয়তা যথেষ্ট।
