New Digha will soon have a first-of-its-kind convention centre with facilities for organising international conventions, exhibitions and business meet to promote tourism, commerce, trade and industry in the state’s coastal areas. The project work has already begun.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee had laid the foundation stone of the project in July 11, 2017.

The project has been planned on a 5.5 acre land in New Digha comprising a 1000 sq/mt exhibition centre, a 300 capacity seminar hall, a conference room and a modern auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000 people. It will be a four-storey building with each floor planned to have an area of 1722 sq/mt.

নিউটাউনের পাশাপাশি সৈকত নগরী দিঘাতেও আন্তর্জাতিক মানের কনভেনশন সেন্টার তৈরি করছে রাজ্য সরকার। যা আগামী বছর উদ্বোধন হবে।

বাণিজ্য ও পর্যটনের মেলবন্ধন ঘটিয়েই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বণিকমহলকে আরও একটি কনভেনশন সেন্টার উপহার দিতে চান। নিউটাউনের অত্যাধুনিক কনভেনশন সেন্টারের পর এটি হবে আরও একটি চমক। এই সেন্টারটি তৈরি করতে খরচ হচ্ছে আনুমানিক ৩৫০ কোটি টাকা। আনুমানিক ১০০০ জনের বসার জায়গা থাকবে।

Taking selfies is the craze now, and few experiences can better that of taking a selfie with a royal Bengal tiger. Well, not a live one, but so what? The Sundarbans Walkthrough Diorama at the Marine Aquarium and Regional Centre (MARC) in Digha in Purba Medinipur district gives you that opportunity now.

A diorama is a model representing a scene with three-dimensional figures, either in miniature or as a large-scale museum exhibit.

The diorama at MARC is a large-scale exhibit imitating the floral and faunal architecture of the Sundarbans. The soil is just like the soft soil of the Sundarbans. Besides life-size models of tigers, crocodiles and other animals, the life of fishermen of the region has also been depicted.

Entering the diorama would give one the impression that one has come to the Sundarbans. This is as real an experience as a model could give.

Since the Trinamool Congress came to power in 2011, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has taken a lot of initiatives to make Digha into a world-class resort. Over the last six years, various parks, roads, walkways, etc. have been built. Tourists now have access to a lot of amenities. Biswa Bangla Park has become a tourist hot spot. A coast-hugging highway, named ‘Saikat Sarani’ by Mamata Banerjee, stretches from Digha right through to Udaypur, which has become very popular with tourists. A lot of trees have been planted. A helicopter service has been introduced too, connecting Digha to Kolkata.

দিঘার নয়া আকর্ষণ রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগারের সঙ্গে সেলফি

নিজের মোবাইলে সেলফি তোলার মজাই আলাদা। তার ওপর সেই সেলফি যদি রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগারের সঙ্গে হয়, তাহলে তো কথাই নেই। জীবনের ঝুঁকি ছাড়াই দিঘায় সমুদ্রস্নানে এসে সেই সুযোগ নিতে পারবেন পর্যটকেরা। শুধু রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগার নয়, সুন্দরবনের কুমির কিংবা তিমি মাছের সঙ্গে সেলফি তুলেও হোয়াটস অ্যাপ বা ফেসবুকের ডিপি দিতে পারবেন পর্যটকেরা। তার জন্য দিঘার মেরিন অ্যাকুয়ারিয়ামে একবার আসতেই হবে।

২০১১ সালে রাজ্যে ক্ষমতা বদলের পর রাজ্য সরকার দিঘা, মন্দারমনি সহ পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার সবকটা সমুদ্র সৈকত নগরীর পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে পর্যটকদের আকর্ষণ বাড়াতে একের পর এক রূপদান করে চলেছে। যোগাযোগ পরিষেবার মান বাড়াতে সড়ক ও রেলপথের পাশাপাশি আকাশ পথে হেলিকপ্টারে রাজ্যের রাজধানী কলকাতার সঙ্গে দিঘাকে যুক্ত করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

এবার নয়া আকর্ষণ- সুন্দরবন ওয়াকথ্রু ডায়রামা প্রকল্পে মিউজিয়ামের একটা অংশকে সুন্দরবনের পরিবেশের মতো সাজিয়ে তোলা হয়েছে। এই এলাকার মাটি একেবারে সুন্দরবনের এলাকার মাটির মতো তৈরি করা হয়েছে। তার মধ্যে মডেলের মাধ্যমে মৎস্যজীবীদের জীবনযাত্রা, রয়্যাল বেঙ্গল টাইগার, কুমির প্রভৃতি সুন্দরবনের জীবজন্তু তুলে আনা হয়েছে।

এই এলাকায় ঢুকে পড়লে যে কোনও মানুষের মনে হবে তাঁরা সুন্দরবনের কোনও এলাকায় ঢুকে পড়েছেন। ফলে সমুদ্রের আনন্দ নিতে এসে পর্যটকেরা কৃত্রিম ভাবে হলেও সুন্দরবন ঘুরে দেখার স্বাদ নিতে পারবেন।

The Marine Aquarium and Research Centre (MARC) in Digha will have an added attraction in the form of a walkthrough diorama for the visitors. The entire mangrove ecosystem of the Sundarbans along with its flora and fauna is being recreated at MARC by the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI).

The six-month-old project is in its final lap. According to the director of MARC, the mangrove ecosystem museum will feature life-sized models of animals like royal Bengal tigers, crocodiles, and several varieties of crabs and birds that are found in the Sunderbans.

Though flora and fauna of the region would be displayed, the main aim is to portray the life of the people in the villages of the Sundarbans region, particularly the fishermen and their boat life. They spend uncomfortable nights in boats so that they can catch fish to eke out a living.

Among the attractions will also be the coloured skeleton of a gigantic sei whale, an endangered species, one of which was excavated from the shore near Digha a year back. The carcass had been buried there after the dead whale was found on the shore in December 2012. The skeleton has been on display at the MARC campus for some time now.

MARC will also be of immense help to researchers studying any aspect of the Sundarbans. A museum hall with study material will be set up, with equipment pertaining to marine science on display as well.

“The carcass of the gigantic sei whale has been a huge crowd-puller. We are now colouring the skeleton to give it a fresh look,” a ZSI scientist said.

দীঘায় খুব শীঘ্র ম্যানগ্রোভ অরণ্যের প্রতিকৃতি ও মেরিন অ্যাকোরিয়াম ও গবেষণা কেন্দ্রে

দীঘার মেরিন অ্যাকোরিয়াম ও গবেষণা কেন্দ্র খুব শীঘ্রই আরেকটি কারনে আকর্ষণীয় হয়ে উঠতে চলেছে পর্যটকদের কাছে। সুন্দরবনের পুরো ম্যানগ্রোভ অরণ্য এবার দেখা যাবে দীঘায়।

এটির উদ্বোধন হওয়ার কথা পুজোর আগেই। এখানে তৈরি হবে একটি ম্যানগ্রোভ অরণ্যের মিউজিয়াম, যেখানে আসল আয়তনের বাঘ, কুমির, বিভিন্ন প্রজাতির কাঁকড়া, ও পাখি থাকবে যা সুন্দরবনে পাওয়া যায়।

এখানে মূলত তুলে ধরা হবে সুন্দরবনের মৎস্যজীবীদের ও নৌকায় তাঁদের জীবনযাপন। যারা জীবিকার জন্য রাতের পর রাত জেগে থাকেন নৌকাতে। এর ফলে উপকৃত হবে সুন্দরবন নিয়ে কাজ করা গবেষকরা। মিউজিয়াম হলে থাকবে বইপত্র ও মেরিন বিজ্ঞানের প্রয়োজনীয় নানা যন্ত্রপাতির প্রদর্শনী।

কিছুদিন আগে দীঘার সমুদ্রতটে বিশালাকার নিলতিমি’র দেহ পাওয়া যায়। এটিও আছে মেরিন অ্যাকোরিয়াম ও গবেষণা কেন্দ্রে, যা পর্যটকদের মধ্যে আলোড়ন সৃষ্টি করেছে। আপাতাত এই দেহে রঙ করা চলছে এই দেহকে সজীব রুপ দেওয়ার লক্ষ্যে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee conducted an administrative meeting at Digha last week. During the meeting the CM instructed the district administration to take up a number of initiatives to make Digha a better place for tourists.

She pointed out that the sea beach and its surrounding areas must be kept clean and tidy. She asked senior administrative officials to engage workers under the 100-day job guarantee scheme for this initiative.

The security of tourists visiting the beaches must be a top priority, as an increasing number of people have been visiting the Digha beach over the years. She also laid emphasis on increasing nulias (local divers), who often save people from being swept away by the currents while taking a dip in the sea.

Senior police officers in the district were instructed to deploy more police personnel on the beach to check untoward incidents. The CM asked the district administration to ensure that tourists do not face problems during their stay at Digha. She also urged the people to be cautious while bathing in the sea.

Digha has always been a thrust area of the Chief Minister, as a result of which a host of developmental projects have virtually transformed the area into a far better tourist destination than it had been before. The present government has also introduced a helicopter service between Kolkata and Digha.

 

দীঘাকে পর্যটন কেন্দ্র হিসেবে আরও বেশী আকর্ষণীয় করে তুলতে উদ্যোগী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

গত সপ্তাহে দীঘায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। পর্যটকদের জন্যও দীঘাকে আরও অনেক আকর্ষণীয় করে তুলতে একাধিক পদক্ষেপ নিতে প্রশাসনকে নির্দেশ দেন।

তিনি একদম নির্দিষ্ট করে বলেন, সমুদ্রতট ও সংলগ্ন জায়গাকে সর্বদা পরিষ্কার রাখতে। উচ্চপদস্থ প্রশাসন আধিকারিকদের বলেন, এই কাজের জন্য ১০০ দিনের কাজে যুক্ত মানুষদের নিযুক্ত করতে।

যেহেতু প্রতি বছর দীঘায় পর্যটকদের সংখ্যা বেড়েই চলেছে, তিনি বলেন, সমুদ্রতটে আসা পর্যটকদের নিরাপত্তাকে দিতে হবে অগ্রাধিকার। সমুদ্রে অনেকসময়ই অনেক বিপজ্জনক ঘটনা ঘটে থাকে, সেগুলো যাতে না ঘটে তাই তিনি নুলিয়াদের সংখ্যা বাড়ানোয় জোর দেন।

অনভিপ্রেত ঘটনা এড়াতে জেলার উচ্চপদস্থ পুলিশ আধিকারিকদের নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে সমুদ্রতটে আরও বেশী পুলিশকর্মী নিযুক্ত করার। তিনি জেলা প্রশাসনকে নির্দেশ দেন পর্যটকরা যাতে কোনোভাবে কোনও অসুবিধায় না পড়েন যতদিন তাঁরা দীঘায় থাকবেন। পর্যটকদের খুব সতর্ক থাকার অনুরোধ করেন সমুদ্রে স্নান করার সময়।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বরাবরই জোর দিয়েছেন দীঘার উন্নয়নে। দীঘার উন্নয়ন প্রকল্পের কল্যানে আজ দীঘা পেয়েছে এক অনন্য রুপ। এই সরকার কলকাতা ও দীঘার মধ্যে হেলিকপ্টার পরিষেবাও চালু করেছে।

On the second day of her visit to Purba Medinipur district, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a public meeting in Digha. She inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a bouquet of developmental projects for the district.

The Chief Minister inaugurate projects like a teachers’ training school, government buildings, hostels, irrigation projects, cold storages, road projects, among many others.

She laid the foundation stones for projects like the Digha Convention Centre, new road projects, desilting of canals, a tourist lodge and others. The Chief Minister then distribute benefits of schemes like Kanyashree, Sikshashree, Sabuj Sathi, Geetanjali and SVSKP, and fishing equipment, farming equipment and other such benefits.

 

Salient points of her speech:

 

Whenever I come to Purba Medinipur district I am reminded of the Independence Movement, new awakening, religious unity, harmony, solidarity, integrity and unity because of the great freedom fighters and leaders who hail from here. Medinipur is the embodiment of the great traditions of Bengal.

People from all places visit Digha; in future, it would become an international tourist destination too. Digha has transformed – it is getting bedecked in new colours to welcome more and more tourists. Those coming here after a gap say many improvements have taken place, and we feel happy.

Hence, the residents here have a duty to help visitors, understand their needs. Guests need to be given a proper reception.

Today, people cannot visit Darjeeling because of the violent protests taking place there. But they can come to Digha which, along with other regions in South Bengal, will gain as the more the number of tourists, the more will be the job opportunities that will open up.

On development

After our earlier visits, we have re-discovered Tajpur, Udaipur and Sankarpur and developed Mandarmani. Yesterday, a Rs 3,500-crore power project was launched in Digha. To me, Digha is like the Kanyashree scheme. I want to help create a Dighashree too. Tajpur Port is being built near Digha at a cost of Rs 12,000 crores, and such a project will mean more industries and hotels, and jobs. A new Buriganga-Tajpur bridge is being built in Digha. All this means the region will develop, and the youth will have to be prepared.

But the cooperation of the local traders and residents must continue. There should be no encroachments. We have enabled government services and schemes for 95 per cent of the population. The government has done a lot of developmental work, and it will continue to do so. I wish for Digha to transform into a wonder of the world.

Our government has reprieved farmers of their debts. We have presented farmers with the Krishak Ratna awards. If crops are destroyed due to natural disasters, we compensate farmers so that their well-being is looked after.

Students who are beneficiaries of Kanyashree and Sabuj Sathi Schemes are the pride of Bengal and the future of the State; similarly for Sabujshree – a sapling for every child born. In Bengal, 8.5 crore people get rice at Rs 2 per kg. Free treatment and beds are available at Government hospitals. We are the only state that provides this. There are plans for a university in Purba Medinipur district. A new double-lane road connecting Nandakumar with Digha is coming up. Through the Sabar Ghare Alo Scheme, the district has undergone 100 per cent electrification. A super-speciality hospital has been set up.

All over the state, 300 polytechnic colleges, industrial training institutes (ITIs), eight medical colleges and 17 universities have come up. Bengal is number one in girl child empowerment through Kanyashree Scheme, and the numero uno in the parameter of skill development too. Bengal has been the recipient of the Central Government’s Krishak Ratna Award thrice. The State Government has started the Mabhoi Scheme for media personnel. Bengal is going ahead full steam, in spite of a yearly debt of over Rs 40,000 crore.

On the Opposition

But some people are not in favour of development. They don’t like Bengal to go ahead, and so they are scheming against us, stoking violence and criticising the Government. Be careful of such people. There is no cure for violence. Don’t give an ear to slander and misinformation.

There is no place for those who indulge in violence in Bengal. Bengal is humane, not insensitive. The people will stand up against those who come to divide Bengal and fight those demons. Bengal has progressed over the years because of the people’s intrinsic nature to be united no matter what religion, caste or creed.

But now from Delhi has come down Ram (that is, BJP) and has got tagged with Bam (that is, the Left).

I feel bad about Amarnath Yatra. Pilgrims are being shot; this Central Government is not being able to protect the people. It just knows to throw people in the mouth of danger. It is a failure in all respects. It has imposed GST, as a result of which many business people have had to suspend their activities. It is creating divisiveness and playing with fire, and tearing apart the fabric of the nation.

Our biggest identity is our humanity. The BJP has a single-minded passion for destructive activities like rioting and arson; and its representatives are happy touring countries. Amarnath pilgrims today are facing misery because of these people; passions in Darjeeling are aflame because of these same people.

We will not let Darjeeling go up in flames; we will bring back peace to the region. Our work is to establish peace in the state. We will not bow our heads to the nefarious schemes of the Centre. My appeal to all those intent on destruction is to not play with fire but to try to establish peace. Violence is equivalent to destruction, peace to construction. We don’t want any disturbance. We want peace to return. We live for the welfare of the people.

পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর সফরের দ্বিতীয় দিনে আজ দিঘায় একটি জনসভা করleন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। আজ সেখানেও একগুচ্ছ প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন, শিলান্যাস ও পরিষেবা প্রদান করleন তিনি।

শিক্ষকদের প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র, সরকারী ভবন, হোস্টেল, কৃষি প্রকল্প, হিমঘর, সড়ক প্রকল্প সহ আরও অনেক প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

দিঘা কনভেনশন সেন্টার, টুরিস্ট লজ, রাস্তা নির্মাণ, খাল সংস্কার সহ বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পের শিলান্যাস করলেন। এছাড়াও কন্যাশ্রী, সবুজ সাথী, শিক্ষাশ্রী, গীতাঞ্জলি, স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ স্বনির্ভর কর্মসংস্থান প্রকল্প, মৎস্য চাষের যন্ত্রপাতি, কৃষি যন্ত্রপাতি সহ আরও অনেক সরকারী পরিষেবা প্রদান করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

 

তাঁর বক্তৃতার বিশেষ আংশঃ

 

এই জেলায় এলেই আমার স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রাম, নবজাগরণ, সর্ব ধর্ম সমন্বয়, সম্প্রীতি, সংহতি, অখণ্ডতা, একতার কথা মনে পড়ে যায়। মেদিনীপুর জেলা বাংলার ঐতিহ্যের ধারক ও বাহক।

আগামী দিনে দিঘায় সব জায়গার মানুষ আসেন, আগামীদিনে international tourist রাও আসবেন। দিঘার চেহারা পাল্টে গেছে, পর্যটকদের জন্য নতুন করে সাজছে।

মানুষকে সাহায্য করা, মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়ানো এখানকার মানুষের কাজ। অতিথিদের যত্ন করে রাখতে হবে।

দার্জিলিং এ মানুষ যেতে পারছেন না হিংসাত্মক আন্দোলনের জন্য। তাই মানুষ দিঘাকে বেছে নিয়েছে। যত পর্যটক আসবে তত কর্মসংস্থান বাড়বে।

 

উন্নয়ন ও পরিষেবা

 

আমাদের সরকার তাজপুর, উদয়পুর, শঙ্করপুর, মন্দারমনি নতুন করে তৈরী করেছে। গতকাল আমরা ৩৫০০ কোটি টাকার একটা power project উদ্বোধন করেছি। দিঘায় তাজপুর বন্দর তৈরী হচ্ছে, এর ফলে অনেক কর্মসংস্থান হবে। দিঘায় নতুন ব্রিজ তৈরী হচ্ছে। এই জেলার ৯৫% মানুষের কাছে সরকারী পরিষেবা পৌঁছে দিয়েছি। সরকার উন্নয়নের কাজ করছে, আরও করবে। দিঘা আমার কাছে কন্যাশ্রীর মতই। আমি চাই দিঘা পৃথিবীর এক বিস্ময়ে পরিণত হোক। আগামী দিনে দিঘা সারা পৃথিবীর তীর্থ ক্ষেত্র হোক।

আমাদের সরকার কৃষকদের সব খাজনা মুকুব করে দিয়েছি। আমরা কৃষকদের কৃষক রত্ন পুরস্কার দিই। যে কোন প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগে ফসল নষ্ট হলে আমরা কৃষকদের ক্ষতিপূরণ দিই, যাতে তারা ভালো থাকে।

কন্যাশ্রী, সবুজ সাথীর ছেলেমেয়েরা আমার গর্ব। সবুজশ্রী – একটা নতুন জন্ম, একটা গাছ – এরাই আমাদের গর্ব। বাংলার সাড়ে ৮ কোটি মানুষকে ২ টাকা কিলো চাল দিই। সরকারী হাস্পাতালে বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা হয়। পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলায় একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হবে। নন্দকুমার থেকে দিঘা পর্যন্ত রাস্তার উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছে। সবার ঘরে আলো প্রকল্পে এই জেলায় ১০০% বিদ্যুতায়ন হয়ে গেছে। মাল্টি সুপার হাসপাতাল হয়েছে। ৩০০ টি পলিটেকনিক কলেজ, আইটিআই, ৮ টি মেডিকেল কলেজ, ১৭টি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হয়েছে। কন্যাশ্রী, স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট-এ এক নম্বর। ৩ বার কৃষক রত্ন পুরস্কার পেয়েছে বাংলা। বাংলার মিডিয়ার জন্য আমরা মাভৈ প্রকল্প চালু করেছি। ৪০ হাজার কোটি টাকা দেনা সত্ত্বেও বাংলা এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে।

বিরোধীদের উদ্দেশ্যে

 

কিছু কিছু লোক উন্নয়ন পছন্দ করে না, তাই তারা চক্রান্ত করে। এদের থেকে সাবধান। হিংসার কোন ওষুধ নেই। কুৎসা, অপপ্রচারে কান দেবেন না।

বাংলায় কেউ হিংসা ছড়ালে তাদের বাংলায় কোন স্থান নেই। বাংলা মানবিক, দানবিক নয়। যারা বাংলা ভাগ করতে আসবে সেই দানবদের বিরুদ্ধে সংগ্রাম করবে বাংলার মানুষ। বাংলা সব ধর্মের মানুষকে একসাথে নিয়ে চলেছে তাই বাংলা এগিয়ে গেছে।

দিল্লি থেকে এল রাম, সাথে জুটল বাংলার বাম।

অমরনাথ যাত্রীদের আজ গুলি করে মেরে দেওয়া হচ্ছে, এই কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার কিছু করতে পারে না, এই সরকার মানুষকে protection দিতে পারে না।শুধু মানুষকে বিপদের মধ্যে ঠেলে দিতে পারে, ওরা সর্বরকম ব্যর্থ। GST চালু করছে, সব মানুষ তাদের ব্যবসা বন্ধ করে বসে আছে। আগুন নিয়ে খেলছে, ভাগাভাগি করছে।

আমরা দার্জিলিং কে জ্বলতে দেব না। দার্জিলিং -এ অচিরেই শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠা হবে। শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠা করাই আমার লক্ষ্য। আমরা কেন্দ্রের চক্রান্তের কাছে মাথা নত করব না। আমার আবেদন আগুন নিয়ে খেলবেন না, শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠা করুন। হিংসা হল দূষণ, শান্তি হল ভূষণ। দাঙ্গা নয়, শান্তি চাই।

The Digha-Shankarpur Development Authority has decided to plant a large number of casuarina trees along the coastline where such forests have depleted because of subsequent cyclones and felling of trees.

The lush forests of casuarina or jhow trees had attracted the Bengal government’s attention in the late 1950s, when it decided to develop Digha into a tourist destination. Such an attraction were the forests that they even inspired a song by Pintu Bhattacharya: “Cholona dighar soikot chere/ jhow boner chhaye chhaye (lets go from the Digha beach to the shadows of the jhow forest)”.

But over the years, the forests gradually depleted in many areas because of storm and theft of the trees for firewood. Following instruction from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Digha-Shankarpur Development Authority taken up the initiative to plant about one lakh jhow saplings every year to restore the beach to its glory. The Government wants to develop the lush forests again along the 20 km coastline from Digha to Mandarmani. Eventually, they will resemble the thick growth of coconut trees in Goa.

দিঘা-শঙ্করপুর উন্নয়ন কর্তৃপক্ষ উপকূল বরাবর বেশ কয়েকটি ঝাউ গাছ লাগানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। ইতিমধ্যেই ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের কারণে অনেক গাছ পড়ে গেছে।

১৯৫০ সালের শেষের দিকে যখন দিঘাকে পর্যটন কেন্দ্র করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিল রাজ্য সরকার তখনই এই ঘন ঝাউ বন সরকারের নজরে আসে। পিন্টু ভট্টাচার্যের একটি গান তাদের অনুপ্রাণিত করেছিল: “চল না দিঘার সৈকত ছেড়ে / ঝাউ বনের ছায়ে ছায়ে”।

কিন্তু কয়েক বছর ধরে, ঝড় ও চুরির কারণে অনেকগুলি এলাকায় এই ঝাউ বন ক্রমশ হ্রাস পেয়েছে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নির্দেশে দীঘা-শঙ্করপুর উন্নয়ন কর্তৃপক্ষ সমুদ্র তটের গৌরব পুনরুদ্ধারের জন্য প্রতিবছর এক লাখ ঝাউ গাছ লাগানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। দীঘা থেকে মন্দারমণি পর্যন্ত ২০ কিমি উপকূল এলাকার উন্নয়ন করতে চায় রাজ্য সরকার।

Real-time location of the state-run buses plying from the city to tourist spots, including some religious places in adjoining districts, will be soon made available in Pathadisha App. If everything goes as planned, then in another four months the information will be available in the app.

The state Transport department has introduced the app in the mid of March to help commuters get information on the real time location of state-run buses. With inclusion of all the buses run by WBTC, the realtime location of those plying in adjacent districts including Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia, North and South 24 Parganas will be available in the app.

Buses connecting tourist spots in South Bengal districts including Digha in East Midnapore and Gadiara in Howrah will be included in the app. Moreover, real time location of the buses plying between the city and religious places including Mayapur, Aathpur, Jayrambati, Kamarpukur, Furfura Sharif and Belur Math will also be made available in the app. At present information about some of the buses connecting Dakshineswar Kali Temple with the city and other places have already been made available in the app.

All steps are being taken to complete the task within the next four months.

রাজ্য সরকারের যে সব বাস শহর থেকে বিভিন্ন জেলার দর্শনীয় ও ধার্মিক স্থানে যাত্রীদের নিয়ে যায়, সেগুলির অবস্থান খুব শীঘ্রই জানা যাবে পথদিশা অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে।

এ বছরের মার্চ মাসে রাজ্য পরিবহণ দপ্তর এই অ্যাপটি চালু করে। এর মাধ্যমে সরকারি বাসগুলির জিপিএস লোকেশন সংক্রান্ত তথ্য পাওয়া যায়।

খুব শীঘ্রই যে সব বাস কলকাতা থেকে হাওড়া, হুগলী, নদীয়া, উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগণা যায় সেগুলোর সঠিক অবস্থানও জানা যাবে।পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের দিঘা, হাওড়া জেলার গাদিয়াড়ায় যে সব সরকারি বাস যায় সেগুলোও অন্তরভুক্ত হবে এই অ্যাপে।

এ ছাড়া মায়াপুর, আঠপুর, জয়রামবাটি, কামারপুকুর, বেলুড় মঠ, ফুরফুরা শরীফ-এই সকল ধার্মিক স্থানে যে সকল বাস যায় তাদের অবস্থানও জানা যাবে। এই মুহূর্তে দক্ষিনেশ্বর কালিবাড়িতে কলকাতা ও অন্যান্য জেলা থেকে যে সকল বাস আসে তাদের অবস্থান এই অ্যাপে জানা যায়।

আগামী চার মাসের মধ্যেই এই পরিষেবা চালু করার জন্য সবরকম পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হচ্ছে।

The Fisheries Department of the Bengal Government is all ready introduce a new concept – eco fish tourism. As the name implies, it would be combine relishing the fish as well as the environment – a mouth-watering mélange to look forward to.

State Fisheries Development Corporation Department of the Fisheries Department is going to look after the projects.

A pilot project on eco fish tourism was completed at Nalban in Salt Lake, Kolkata about a month back. It proved to be a hit, which prompted the department to make the grand plans.

Bengalis are famous as fish-lovers and the concept is meant to latch on to this culinary fact.

Some of the details are as under. A two-day-one-night package for a family of four would cost Rs 4,000 to Rs 4,500, depending on the facilities availed of and the tourist spot. Individuals can also avail of eco fish tourism packages, in which case the cost would obviously be less. Coaches run by the Fisheries Department would transport the tourists from their homes to the spots they have booked. The bus journey would include breakfast and lunch, which would of course include fish. On reaching the place, battery-run vehicles of the department would provide a short tour of the area.

On the second day would come the ‘fish’ part of ‘eco fish tourism’. The tourists would be taken to the water bodies managed by the Fisheries Department. They can draw the nets along with the fishermen to pull in the fish, and can then indulge in the quiet joy of angling. The water bodies would be kept stocked with adequate fish.

The fishes caught by the tourists would be cooked and served to them. They would not be allowed to take any fish home, though. However, if they do want to carry any home, there is provision for that too – fishes can be bought, which would then be packed in ice to keep them fresh along the journey back. At the end of the tour, luxury bases of the Fisheries Department would drop the tourists back to their homes.

The projects are going to come up at five places to begin with – at Henry Island in the Fraserganj region and at Chandanpiri, located between Bakkhali and Fraserganj, both in the Sunderbans, at Guskara and Memari in Purba Bardhaman distirct, and in Digha (in a few of the place’s numerous fish farms).

The middle of May has been decided as the time for launching this new concept of eco fish tourism.

 

মৎস্যপ্রেমীদের জন্য চালু হচ্ছে ‘ইকো ফিশ ট্যুরিজম’

মৎস্যপ্রেমীদের জন্য এক নতুন উদ্যোগ নিচ্ছে রাজ্য মৎস্য দপ্তর। বেড়ানোর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে মাছ ধরার প্রক্রিয়াও চালু করছে রাজ্য সরকার। প্রকল্পটির নাম – ইকো ফিশ ট্যুরিজম।

প্রকল্পটির পরিচালনায় রয়েছে মৎস্য দপ্তরের স্টেট ফিশারিজ ডেভেলপমেন্ট কর্পোরেশন লিমিটেড।

মাসখানেক আগে সল্টলেকের নলবনে এই প্রকল্প চালু হয়েছে। সাফল্য পাওয়ার পর এই প্রকল্পের বিস্তারের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ে মৎস্য দপ্তর। মানুষের ভ্রমণকে আরও বৈচিত্র্যময় করে তোলার জন্যই এই উদ্যোগ।

অনলাইন বুকিং করতে হবে। ২ দিন এবং এক রাতের জন্য চারজনের একটি পরিবার – পিছু খরচ ৪০০০ বা ৪৫০০ টাকা। বুকিং করার সময় জানাতে হবে তিনি কোথা থেকে বাসে উঠবেন এবং দপ্তরের বাস তাঁকে সেখান থেকে তুলে নেবে। বাসে থাকবে জলখাবার ও দুপুরের খাওয়াদাওয়ার বন্দোবস্ত। গন্তব্যে পৌঁছানোর পর দপ্তরের ব্যাটারিচালিত গাড়িতে ভ্রমনার্থীদের প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য দেখানো হবে।

দ্বিতীয় দিনে ভ্রমনার্থীদের নৌকায় করে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে জলাশয়ে। সেখানে তারা মাছকে খাবার দিতে পারবেন, জেলেদের সঙ্গে মাছ ধরার সময় জালও টানতে পারবেন। বেলায় জলাশয়গুলি থেকে মাছও ধরতে পারবে। ধরার পর সেই মাছ রান্না করে তাদেরকে তা পরিবেশনও করা হবে।  মাছ ধরার পাশাপাশি এলাকার প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যও উপভোগ করতে পারবেন পর্যটকরা।

চন্দনপিড়িতে একটি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার বানাচ্ছে মৎস্য দপ্তর। সেখানে উঠে সুন্দরবনের মনোরম প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্যও দেখা যাবে। যদি কেউ মাছ কিনে বাড়ি ফিরতে আগ্রহী হন তাদের জন্য বরফ দিয়ে মোড়া মাছের প্যাকেটেরও বন্দোবস্ত রাখছে মৎস্য দপ্তর।

সুন্দরবনের বেশ কিছু এলাকা সহ রাজ্যের আরও কয়েকটি জায়গায় চালু হবে এই উদ্যোগ। তালিকায় আছে সুন্দরবন এলাকার ফ্রেজারগঞ্জের হেনরি আইল্যান্ড, বকখালি ও ফ্রেজারগঞ্জের মাঝখানে চন্দনপিড়ি, ঘুসকরা, মেমারি ও দিঘার লেক।

মে মাসের মাঝামাঝি এই নতুন প্রকল্প চালু করার কথা রয়েছে।

From toy train to ropeway, from water ATMs to making the region plastic-free, numerous projects are being launched to make Digha more attractive to tourists. Digha Sankarpur Development Authority is taking up 39 schemes at a cost of Rs 50 crore.

Neglected during the Left Front regime, the Mamata Banerjee Government has brought about large-scale developments to the region. The district and local administrations have also done a lot.

Now, Digha Sankarpur Development Authority has initiated a project to run a toy train from Digha to Udaypur, near the border with Odisha. The train would run along the casuarina tree-lined coastline of Digha and New Digha.

A ropeway is also being planned from Digha to Sankarpur, which would enable tourists to view the beautiful coastline from up above.

New initiatives are also being planned to keep Digha clean, recruitments for which are being planned. Digha has been declared a plastic-free zone, so tourist cars would be checked before they enter Digha to ensure that no such material is being taken inside the resort town. The control on plastic waster would improve the sewage system of the area.

To improve the garbage collection system, garbage trucks running on hydraulic system would be introduced.

All these measure would ensure that Digha becomes a much more attractive place for tourists.

দিঘার পর্যটনে নতুন চমকঃ টয়ট্রেন, রোপওয়ে

পর্যটকদের কাছে আরও আরও আকর্ষণীয় করে তুলতে টয় ট্রেন থেকে রোপওয়ে, ওয়াটার এটিএম মেশিন থেকে প্ল্যাস্টিক ব্যবহার রোধ সহ একগুচ্ছ নতুন পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করেছে দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ। মোট ৫০ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে ৩৯ টা নতুন প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করেছে পর্ষদ।

বাম আমলে অবহেলিত পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার সৈকত শহর দিঘাকে ক্ষমতায় এসেই বিশ্ব পর্যটন মানচিত্রে তুলে আনার কথা ঘোষণা করেছিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এর জন্য ২০১১ সালে তৃণমূল ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই নানা প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করেছে সরকার থেকে জেলা প্রশাসন, স্থানীয় প্রশাসন থেকে দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ। সেজে উঠেছে দিঘা।

এবার পর্যটকদের কাছে নতুন আকর্ষণ হতে চলেছে টয় ট্রেন। সমুদ্র উপকুলের ঝাউ বনের ভিতর দিয়ে নিউ দিঘার পিকনিক স্পট ধরে প্রতিবেশী রাজ্য উরিশার সীমান্তবর্তী উদয়পুর অবধি টয় ট্রেন চালানোর প্রাথমিক পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ। জানা গেছে আগামী সপ্তাহের মধ্যেই সেই কাজ শুরু হয়ে যাবে।

শুধু টয় ট্রেন নয়, পর্যটকদের আকর্ষণের আরও একটা নতুন ডেস্টিনেশন হতে চলেছে রোপওয়ে। দিঘা থেকে শংকরপুর অবধি প্রায় চার কিমি এলাকায় সমুদ্রের ওপর দিয়ে যাবে এই রোপওয়ে। ফলে এবার আর সমুদ্রে স্নান করে কিংবা টয় ট্রেনের ভিতরে বসে ঝাউ বনের মধ্যে যেতে যেতে সমুদ্র দেখার আনন্দ নয়, সঙ্গে জুড়তে চলেছে আকাশের ওপর থেকেও সমুদ্র দেখার আনন্দ।

এমন ৩৯টি প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করেছে দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ। পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান সাংসদ শিশির অধিকারী জানিয়েছেন সব মিলিয়ে প্রায় ৫০ কোটি টাকার প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।

দিঘাকে সাজানোর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে এখানকার পরিবেশকে আরও পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন করে পর্যটকদের উপহার দেওয়ার পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। দিঘায় ঢোকার আগেই পর্যটকদের গাড়ি পরীক্ষা করবে এই কর্মীরা। কারণ প্ল্যাস্টিকের ব্যবহার নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে প্ল্যাস্টিক মুক্ত হলে দিঘার জল নিকাশি ব্যবস্থা আরও বেশি আবর্জনামুক্ত হবে বলে জানান দিঘা শংকরপুর উন্নয়ন পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান সাংসদ শিশির অধিকারী। দিঘাকে পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখতে হাইড্রোলিক সিস্টেমের আবর্জনা বহনকারী গাড়ি কেনার সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।

The Bengal Tourism department is all set to start Houseboat services likely on River. Like Dal Lake in Kashmir and the backwaters of Kerala, the proposed houseboats will have all the amenities of a star hotel.

The air-conditioned houseboats, costing Rs1.2 Crore each, will have three rooms with all facilities like a kitchen, a common drawing room, etc. The tourists will be able to enjoy moonlit nights, the monsoon of Bengal or the winter chill staying in these floating hotels.

Initially, around five to six houseboats will be put to service. The boats will be anchored near the jetties. Besides setting up the houseboats, around 50 jetties are also being restructured. Security measures are also being scrutinized for the safety of the tourists.

It is expected that the houseboats will be ready in the next six months and be made available for tourists by the end of the year.

 

পর্যটক টানতে হাউসবোট পরিষেবা চালু করছে রাজ্য সরকার

কাশ্মীরের ডাল লেকের মত গঙ্গা, গঙ্গাসাগর ও দীঘায় হাউসবোট নামানোর পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে রাজ্য পর্যটন দপ্তর। দৃষ্টিনন্দন বাংলাকে পর্যটনের শিখরে তুলতে চান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

কাশ্মীদের ডাল লেকে যেমন হাউসবোটে কাটান পর্যটকরা, তেমনিই সুযোগ‌–সুবিধে থাকবে বাংলার হাউসবোটে। একেবারে ফাইভ স্টার হোটেল না হলেও সব পর্যটক যাতে নিজেদের নাগালের মধ্যে বোটে রাত কাটাতে পারেন, সেই রকমই ভাড়া ঠিক করা হবে। চাঁদনি রাতে অথবা বর্ষায়, কনকনে শীতে এই হাউসবোটে থাকার অভিজ্ঞতা অন্যরকম হবে।

গঙ্গা, দক্ষিণে গঙ্গাসাগর অথবা পশ্চিমে দীঘায় থাকবে হাউসবোটগুলি। আপাতত ৫–৬টি হাউসবোট চালু করার পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া হয়েছে। এই শীতাতপ নিয়ন্ত্রিত বোটগুলি তৈরি করতে প্রতিটির জন্য খরচ হচ্ছে ১.২ কোটি টাকা। প্রতিটি বোটে রান্নাঘর, ড্রয়িং রুম সহ তিনটি করে ঘর থাকবে, এছাড়া থাকবে আরও অনেক রকম সুযোগ-সুবিধা।

আশা করা যায়, আগামী ছয় মাসের মধ্যে এই হাউস বোটগুলি প্রস্তুত হয়ে যাবে এবং এ বছরের শেষ নাগাদ পর্যটকদের জন্য খুলে দেওয়া হবে। এছাড়া ৫০টির মতো জেটির সংস্কার ও সৌন্দর্যায়ন করবে পরিবহণ দপ্তর। প্যটকের নিরাপত্তাও সুনিশ্চিত করা হচ্ছে।
