Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Digha, adjacent to Digha, today.

The convention centre is the only of its kind in the coastal area and has been built so that international conventions and exhibitions, along with business meets can be held at the coastal town to promote tourism, commerce and industry. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 350 crore.

The four-storey building will house an exhibition centre covering an area of 1,000 square metres (sq m), a seminar hall with a capacity of 300 persons, a conference room and a modern auditorium with a seating capacity for 1,000 people. Each floor covers an area of 1,722 sq m.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will reach Digha today to begin her administrative tour of Purba Medinipur district. This will be her first tour of the district after the Lok Sabha election.

She will be holding meetings with senior officials to get first-hand information about the various schemes and projects happening in the district, and also about the plans for the upcoming works.

Tomorrow, August 20, she will inaugurate the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre at Digha, which has been constructed by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).

Various local administrations in Bangla are implementing ban on plastic, something which the State Government has been stressing for quite some time. In fact, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also spoken on this issue several times in the past.

Plastic ban is in place at various parks, lakes and other spots where people congregate. Now two more major decisions have been taken by local administrations.

Digha

Digha is one of the most popular tourist spots in the State, and is being visited by more and more people from other States too.

To prevent environmental degradation through plastic and thermocol, from today (August 1), the Digha Sankarpur Development Authority is banning the use of plastic carry bags, and plates, glasses and cups made of plastic and thermocol on the beaches and adjoining areas. Anyone caught contravening the rule will be fined Rs 500.

Srabani Mela

The Srabani Mela is an annual month-long fair taking place in Tarakeswar from mid-July to mid-August. It draws lakhs of devotees, both from the State and neighbouring regions.

One of the rituals of the fair is collecting holy water from the Ganga (Hooghly River) at Nemai Tirtha Ghat in Baidyabati and carrying it for a distance of 34km to Tarakeswar Temple. There are many NGOs who set up stalls along this way for serving food and drink to the pilgrims. The plastic and thermocol plates and glasses, though, are dumped along the roads, and in drains and irrigation canals after use.

To combat this, like in Digha, the Hooghly district administration has banned the use of plastic and thermocol utensils by the NGOs. Biodegradable plates and glasses have been made mandatory. Night patrolling is also being carried out by civic volunteers along the entire stretch of the road.

‘Green’ Bangla

Led by the Chief Minister’s initiative, the Bangla Govt has been conducting a sustained drive towards a plastic-free environment. These are some of the latest efforts towards a plastic-free, environment-friendly, ‘green’ Bangla.

The State Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department has done a commendable job under the Trinamool Congress-run administration. Over the last seven years, it has set up eight development authorities and carried out a lot of work on township beautification.

The primary achievements are as follows:

New development authorities: For the upgrading of existing infrastructure and creation of new tourist attractions in planned manner, eight development authorities have been constituted. They are:

  • Gangasagar Bakkhali Development Authority (in 2013),
  • Furfurah Sharif Development Authority (in 2015),
  • Tarapith Rampurhat Development Authority (in 2015),
  • Bakreswar Development Authority (in 2016),
  • Patharchapuri Development Authority (in 2016),
  • Mukutmanipur Development Authority (in 2017),
  • Changrabandha Development Authority (2017) and
  • Tarakeswar Development Authority (2017).

Area extension work has been done for Gangasagar Bakkhali Development Authority, Haldia Development Authority, Tarapith Rampurhat Development Authority and New Town Kolkata Development Authority.

Green City Mission: It was launched in 2016 for all cities of the State to make them future-proof, talent-friendly and investment-oriented by adopting sustainable, environment-friendly, liveable, energy-positive (adoption of solar energy) and information technology-friendly programmes. A total of 2,596 projects with a total project cost of Rs 1,290 crore have been launched.

Gitabitan: This new township dedicated to art, culture and design is being developed in Bolpur in Birbhum district under the Sriniketan Santiniketan Development Authority.

Floating market at Patuli: For rehabilitating shopkeepers who had to move away because of the widening of the EM Bypass, a unique floating market was created at a waterbody in Patuli near Garia, Kolkata. It has become immensely popular, both among locals and visitors.

Tele Academy and Correctional Home: A Tele Academy (academy for imparting training on various aspects of the television industry) and a state-of-the-art correctional home are being constructed in Baruipur.

Eco Tourism Park: Also known as Prakriti Tirtha, this beautiful park was set up on 480 acres of land around a 112-acre waterbody, alongside Biswa Banga Sarani in New Town. It has now become one of the biggest tourist attractions of Bangla.

Other constructions in Newtown: Other important constructions in New Town, one of the green cities and now considered a model city in the country, are Rabindra Tirtha, Nazrul Tirtha, Mother’s Wax Museum, Kolkata International (Biswa Bangla) Convention Centre and the Financial Hub.

Bicycles: A dock-less, GPS-enabled bicycle sharing service has been started in New Town.

Developments in Digha: A huge illuminated Welcome Gate was constructed in Digha to welcome visitors. The gate is beautifully designed and is lit up beautifully too, and it has become a popular spot for photography. A convention centre is under construction as well as a Hawkers’ Rehabilitation Centre, beachfront beauti­fication in front of Saikatabas and other places, a central bus stand, Digha Mohana Road, bituminous road to Sankarpur and Tajpur, and from Digha Gate to Mandarmoni, and Biswa Bangla Uddyan.

Developments in Mukutmanipur: The area under Mukutmanipur Development Authority has been declared a tobacco-free and plastic-free zone. The authority has adopted the motto, ‘Green and clean Mukutmanipur’. Open consumption of both tobacco and alcohol has been banned here, along with a ban on use of plastic.

Developments in Tarakeswar: Three electrical high masts have been put up by Tarakeswar Panchayat Samity. The Tarakeswar Municipality has put up 13 electrical high masts, trident lamp posts with LED Lamps and 300 nine-metre electrical poles with LED lights.

Hospitals: Beautification and frontage development of 23 district hospitals have been completed and work has been initiated for another 13 district, sub-divisional and State General Hospitals.

Parks: Development of more than 406 parks has been completed and that of another 391 are in the works as part of a green space development programme.

Crematorium: In the Medinipur-Kharagpur planning area, an electric crematorium has been constructed to prevent pollution generated by burning of wood in funeral pyres.

পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার উন্নয়ন – এক নজরে

রাজ্য ও অন্যান্য জেলার সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নয়ন ঘটেছে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলায়।

স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণঃ

  • এই জেলার নন্দীগ্রাম, পাশকুঁড়া ও এগরায় গড়ে উঠেছে ৩টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল।
  • পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলা হাসপাতাল, কাঁথী, হলদিয়া ও দীঘা মহকুমা হাসপাতালে ৫টি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান চালু হয়ে গেছে। জেলার এই সকল ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান থেকে ওষুধ কেনার ফলে ৯ লক্ষ ৩১ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ ২০ কোটি ৯০ লক্ষ টাকারও বেশি ছাড় পেয়েছে। তমলুক জেলা হাসপাতালে ২টি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ডায়াগনস্টিক পরিষেবা চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • এই জেলায় ২০টি SNSU চালু হয়ে গেছে (দীঘা, হলদিয়া, মুগবেড়িয়া, গোনেরা, জানুবাসান, নন্দীগ্রাম, ময়না, বারারানকুয়া, রিয়াপাড়া, অনন্তপুর, বাসুলীয়া, সীন্নাবেড়িয়া, উত্তর মেছোগ্রাম, বাসন্তিয়া, ভগবানপুর, কামারদা, গঙ্গাধরপুর, খেজুরবেড়িয়া, এরাশাল ও পাইকপারি)।
  • তমলুক ও এগরা হাসপাতালে ২টি SNCU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • তমলুক, কাঁথী, হলদিয়া, নন্দীগ্রাম, এগরা ও দীঘা হাসপাতালে ৬টি CCU/HDU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • কাঁথী মহকুমা হাসপাতালকে ২০০ থেকে ৩০০ শয্যায় সম্প্রসারিত করা হচ্ছে।
  • ‘স্বাস্থ্যসাথী’ প্রকল্পে এই জেলায় প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৯৩ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন।
  • ‘শিশুসাথী’ প্রকল্পে, এই জেলার ৫২৩টিরও/ হাজারেরও বেশি বাচ্চার সফল অস্ত্রোপচার করা হয়েছে।

 

শিক্ষাঃ

  • এই জেলার, তমলুক শহীদ মাতঙ্গিনী হাজরা মহিলা কলেজ, স্বর্ণময়ী জোগেন্দ্রনাথ কলেজ এবং শ্যামসুন্দরপুরে ৩টি নতুন সরকারী কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।
  • দেশপ্রাণ (কাঁথী-২), নন্দীগ্রাম ও এগরায় ৩টি নতুন আই টি আই কলেজ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।
  • কোলাঘাটে একটি নতুন পলিটেকনিক কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • ‘উৎকর্ষ বাংলা’ কর্মসূচিতে জেলার ৮২ হাজারেরও বেশি যুবক-যুবতীকে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায়, ৩ লক্ষ ২৮ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র ছাত্রীকে ‘সবুজসাথী’ প্রকল্পে সাইকেল প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায়, গত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, প্রায় ১৭০টি মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়কে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় স্তরে উন্নীত করা হয়েছে।
  • সব স্কুল মিড-ডে-মিল চলছে, যার ফলে পুষ্টি এবং উপস্থিতির হার বেড়েছে এবং স্কুল-ছুট ছাত্র-ছাত্রীর সংখ্যা কমেছে।
  • প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে ছেলে ও মেয়েদের জন্য পৃথক শৌচাগার নির্মিত হয়েছে।

 

ভূমি সংস্কার, কৃষি ও পশুপালনঃ

  • জেলার ৯ হাজারেরও বেশি যোগ্য ভূমিহীন পরিবারের হাতে ‘নিজ গৃহ নিজ ভূমি’ প্রকল্পে পাট্টা তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে। এছাড়া ৪ হাজারেরও বেশি কৃষি ও বনাধিকার পাট্টা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলার, প্রায় ৯৫% কৃষক পরিবারকে কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ডের আওতাভুক্ত করা হয়েছে। বাকিদেরও খুব দ্রুত কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড প্রদান করা হচ্ছে।
  • এই জেলার পাঁশকুড়া-১, ভগবানপুর-২, পটাশপুর-১, দেশপ্রাণ (কাঁথী-২), এগরা-১ ও নন্দীগ্রামে ৬টি ‘কিষাণ মান্ডি’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রাণী সম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তর, ২৪ লক্ষ ৫৮ হাজারেরও বেশি হাঁস ও মুরগীড় বাচ্চা বিতরণ করেছে।

 

পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়নঃ

  • এই জেলায় ১০০-দিনের কাজে, ২২২০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যয় করে প্রায় ৯ কোটি ৪ লক্ষ শ্রম দিবস সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।
  • জেলার প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৪১ হাজার মানুষ গ্রামীণ আবাস যোজনায় উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • এই জেলার আরও প্রায় ২৬ হাজার ৭৬৫ জন উপভোক্তাকে বাড়ি তৈরির সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় গ্রামীণ সড়ক যোজনায় প্রায় ৭০০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মিত হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় আরও প্রায় ৩৯৫ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মাণ/সংস্কারের সূচনা করা হয়েছে।
  • ‘সমব্যাথী’ প্রকল্পে জেলার প্রায় ৪ হাজার ২৬৭ জন উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর ‘নির্মল জেলা’। জেলায় ‘মিশন নির্মল বাংলা’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় ২ লক্ষ ১৬ হাজার শৌচালয় নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে – যা লক্ষ্যমাত্রার ১০০%।

 

সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়নঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলার প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ ১২ হাজার সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্রছাত্রীকে প্রায় ১০০ কোটি টাকা স্কলারশিপ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া, স্বনির্ভরতার জন্য সংখ্যালঘু যুবক-যুবতীদের, প্রায় ৩২ কোটি টাকা ঋণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • MSDP তে প্রায় ৬ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের উন্নয়নে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প রূপায়িত করা হয়েছে।
  • এই প্রকল্পে, জেলায় ৩০টির ও বেশি হেলথ সাব সেন্টার, অতিরিক্ত শ্রেণী কক্ষ।অঙ্গনওয়াড়ী কেন্দ্র, বাসগৃহ ইত্যাদি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে
  • এই জেলার এগরা-২, পাঁশকুড়া-১, পাঁশকুড়া-২, পটাশপুর-২(২টি), সুতাহাটা-১, রামনগর-১ (২টি), কাঁথী-৩, নন্দীগ্রাম-১, খেজুরী-২, শহীদ মাতঙ্গিনী, তমলুক ও ময়নায় ১৪টি ‘কর্মতীর্থ’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

অনগ্রসর কল্যাণ ও আদিবাসী উন্নয়নঃ

নারী ও শিশু উন্নয়ন এবং সমাজকল্যাণঃ

  • এই জেলায়, ২ লক্ষ ৮৪ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্রী ‘কন্যাশ্রী’র আওতায় এসেছে।

 

খাদ্য সুরক্ষা কর্মসূচী – ‘খাদ্য সাথী’ প্রকল্পঃ

  • এই জেলার ১০০% যোগ্য মানুষকে (প্রায় ৫১ লক্ষ ৭১ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষকে), ২/- টাকা কেজি দরে (অথবা বাজার দরের অর্ধেক দামে) খাদ্যশস্য দেওয়া হচ্ছে – যা জেলার মোট জনসংখ্যা প্রায় ১০০%।

 

শিল্পঃ

  • হলদিয়ায় ১টি ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক তৈরি করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় ক্ষুদ্র, ছোট ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগের ২৭টি ক্লাস্টার গড়ে উঠেছে।
  • কাঁথীতে একটি কাজু বাদামের ক্লাস্টার, তমলুক, হলদিয়া, মেছেদা, পাঁশকুড়া, কাঁথী, ময়না, এগরায় ও দাইসাইয়ে ৮টি স্টিলের আসবাব তৈরির ক্লাস্টার, বাঁসুলীয়ায় একটি জামাকাপড় তৈরির ক্লাস্টার প্রভৃতি।
  • শিল্প ও পর্যটনের বিকাশে গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে দীঘায় একটি কনভেনশন সেন্টার।
  • হলদিয়ায় গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে আইটি হাব ও ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল এস্টেট।
  • ক্ষুদ্র শিল্পের ক্ষেত্রে এই জেলায় ৬৯৭ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যাঙ্ক ঋণ প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পূর্ত ও পরিবহনঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলায় পূর্ত দপ্তর ১১০টিরও বেশি রাস্তাঘাট, ব্রিজ ইত্যাদি রুপায়নের কাজ হাতে নিয়েছে, যার মধ্যে ৮৫টিরও বেশি প্রকল্পের কাজ ৫৭০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় ইতিমধ্যেই সমাপ্ত হয়েছে/ এর ফলে প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হচ্ছেন। বাকি প্রকল্পের কাজ খুব শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।
  • জেলার সড়ক ব্যবস্থা উন্নয়নে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে। জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে প্রায় ৬৫০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মাণ/পুনর্নির্মাণ/সম্প্রসারণ ও উন্নীতকরণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হলঃ পাঁশকুড়া-দুর্গাচক রাস্তা,দক্ষিণ শিতলা দাদনপাত্রবার-মান্দারমনি রাস্তা প্রভৃতি।
  • ‘বৈতরিনী’ প্রকল্পে ৩৩টি শ্মশান ঘাটের উন্নয়ন সহ ১টি বিদ্যুতের চুরি বসানোর কাজ চলছে।
  • এই জেলার প্রায় ২৭০ জন যুবক-যুবতী গাড়ি কেনার ঋণ পেয়ে আত্মনির্ভর হয়েছেন।
    হাতে নেওয়া হয়েছে Safe Drive Save Life এবং Slow Drive Save Life কর্মসূচী। ফলে, উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে কমেছে দুর্ঘটনা এবং হতাহতের সংখ্যা।

 

বিদ্যুৎ ও অচিরাচরিত শক্তিঃ

  • সমগ্র জেলায় ‘সবার ঘরে আলো’ প্রকল্পে, ১০০% গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • হলদিয়ায় Indian Power Corporation (Haldia) LIMITED-এর একটি নতুন ৩ ১৫০ মেগা ওয়াট তাপবিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

সেচঃ

  • জেলায় প্রায় ৩৩০ কিমি দৈর্ঘ্যের বাঁধ সংরক্ষণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • প্রায় ৬৫০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে কেলেঘাই-কপালেশ্বরী-বাগাই খাল সংস্কারের কাজ চলছে।
  • এই প্রকল্পে, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর ও ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলার ১৪টি ব্লকের প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ মানুষ উপকৃত হবেন।
  • পাঁশকুড়া-১ ও পাঁশকুড়া-২ ব্লক সহ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার ঘাটাল এলাকার বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণের জন্য প্রায় ২ হাজার কোটি টাকার ‘ঘাটাল মাস্টার প্ল্যান’ তৈরি হয়েছে। এটি রূপায়িত হলে এই বিস্তীর্ণ অঞ্চলের প্রায় ১৭ লক্ষ মানুষ প্রতি বছর বন্যার সমস্যা থেকে মুক্তি পাবেন।
  • ময়না ব্লকের চণ্ডিকা নদীর উপরে এজমালিচক ও শ্রীরামপুরে ২টি সেতু নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।
  • রসুলপুর ও বোগায় রসুলপুর নদীর ওপর ২টি নতুন জেটি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরীঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ৭০টি জল প্রকল্পের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে, এর মধ্যে প্রায় ২৪০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ৫৫টির কাজ সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। এর ফলে জেলার প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হচ্ছেন।বাকি জল প্রকল্পগুলির কাজ খুব শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।

 

বন ও পর্যটনঃ

  • ‘সবুজশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে, ৩৮ হাজারেরও বেশি সদ্যোজাত শিশুকে মূল্যবান গাছের চারা দেওয়া হয়েছে। ১৮ বছর উত্তীর্ণ হলে, গাছ বিক্রির টাকায় শিশুটির পড়াশোনা, বিয়ে ইত্যাদির খরচ মেটানো যাবে।
  • মাত্র ১৮ মাসের রেকর্ড সময়ে ‘দীঘা গেট’ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে সাড়ে ৬ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে।
  • দীঘায় মেরিন ড্রাইভ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া দিঘা, শঙ্করপুর, তাজপুর, মন্দারমনিতে ওয়াচ টাওয়ার, দীঘায় বিশ্ব বাংলা উদ্যান , দীঘা যুব আবাসের সংস্কার, নয়াকালীন মন্দির পর্যন্ত সমুদ্র তীরবর্তী রাস্তা, দীঘা-মোহনা রাস্তা সহ মোট ৯টি প্রকল্পের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে।
  • দীঘায় বিশ্ব বাংলা উদ্যান সম্পূর্ণ করা হয়েছে।
  • তাজপুর শহর ও সৈকতের আলোকায়ন করা হয়েছে।
  • দীঘা-কলকাতা হেলিকপ্টার পরিষেবা সূচনা হয়েছে।

 

শ্রমঃ

  • এই জেলায় সামাজিক সুরক্ষা যোজনায় প্রায় ৯ লক্ষ ৮৬ হাজার অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিক নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন। এখনো পর্যন্ত প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ২৫ হাজার উপভোক্তা, ৫৭ কোটি টাকার ও বেশি সহায়তা পেয়েছেন।
  • যুবশ্রী প্রকল্পে, এই জেলায় প্রায় ৫ হাজার যুবক-যুবতী উতসাহ ভাতা পাচ্ছেন।

 

স্ব-নির্ভর দল ও স্বনিযুক্তি কর্মসূচীঃ

  • ‘আনন্দধারা’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় ৩৮ হাজার স্ব-নির্ভর দল গঠিত হয়েছে।
  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ‘স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ স্ব-নির্ভর কর্মসূচী’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় সাড়ে ১১ হাজার উদ্যোগকে অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং প্রায় ৮৫ কোটি টাকা অনুদান প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পুর ও নগরোন্নয়নঃ

  • জেলায় ৩টি মিউনিসিপ্যালিটি, ১৩০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি পরিকল্পনা খাতে ব্যয় করেছে।
  • শহরাঞ্চলে গরীবদের জন্য বাসস্থান প্রকল্পে, প্রায় ৫ হাজার ৬০০ জন মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।

 

তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতিঃ

  • এই জেলায় ২৩ হাজারেরও বেশি লোকশিল্পী, ‘লোকপ্রসার প্রকল্পে’ রিটেনার ফি ও পেনশন পাচ্ছেন।

 

আবাসনঃ

  • জেলায় আর্থিকভাবে দুর্বল মানুষদের জন্যে গীতাঞ্জলী ও অন্যান্য প্রকল্পে প্রায় ১৯ হাজার মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • ভ্রমনার্থীদের সুবিধা এবং স্থানীয় মানুষের কর্মসংস্থানের জন্য নন্দকুমার ও মেছেদায় ২টি ‘পথসাথী’ মোটেল গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

ক্রীড়া ও যুবকল্যাণঃ

  • ক্রীড়ার মান উন্নয়নে জেলায় ৯৫৫টিরও বেশি ক্লাবকে ৩২ কোটি টাকারও বেশি অর্থ সাহায্য করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রায় ৩০০টি মাল্টি জিম ও ৬০টি মিনি ইনডোর স্টেডিয়াম, প্রায় ১৮ কোটি ৫৩ লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • নন্দকুমারে একটি যুব আবাস গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।

 

আইন-শৃঙ্খলাঃ

  • এই জেলায় স্থাপন করা হয়েছে নতুন মন্দারমণি, জুনপুট ও নয়াচর উপকূলীয় থানা এবং কাঁথী ও হলদিয়া মহিলা থানা।

The West Bengal Forest Development Corporation (WBFDC) is exploring the development of infrastructure for accommodating tourists at sylvan seaside spots. The Corporation has already successfully created boarding facilities for tourists in the hilly and forest areas of the State.

Digha and its surroundings have been chosen as one of the spots where such infrastructure will be developed, in collaboration with the Digha Sankarpur Development Authority (DSDA).

The WBFDC is already developing accommodation facilities at Tajpur. If everything goes as planned, the facility will be thrown open for tourists by April 15.

It may be mentioned that a major share of the Corporation’s profits comes from the resorts in the hilly and forest areas in the State. The profits are expected to increase further once the accommodation facilities in Tajpur and Digha are thrown open.

At present, WBFDC has resorts at Garubathan, Lava, Lolegaon, Mongpong, Murti, Jaldhaka, Jhargram and Mukutmanipur. It has put in place an online booking system which will also be applied to the accommodation facilities at Tajpur and Digha.

উপকূলবর্তী পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলিতে পরিকাঠামো ঢেলে সাজানোর পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে ওয়েস্ট বেঙ্গল ফরেস্ট ডেভেলপমেন্ট কর্পোরেশন। ইতিমধ্যেই পাহাড় ও জঙ্গলে পর্যটকদের থাকার সুবন্দোবস্ত করেছে এই নিগম।

দীঘা শঙ্করপুর ডেভেলপমেন্ট অথরিটির সহযোগিতায় নিগম দীঘায় ও তাজপুরে থাকার জন্য রিসর্ট করছে নিগম। সবকিছু ঠিকঠাক চললে আগামী পয়লা বৈশাখের আগেই এখানে পর্যটকরা থাকতে পারবেন।

প্রসঙ্গত, নিগমের লাভের সিংহভাগটাই আসে পাহাড় ও বনাঞ্চলের রিসর্ট ও ইকো-রিসর্টগুলি থেকে। এই পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলি তৈরী হওয়ার পর লাভের মাত্রা আরও বাড়বে বলে আশা করা যায়।

এই মুহূর্তে গোরুবাথান, লাভা, লোলেগাঁও, মংপো, মূর্তি, জলঢাকা, ঝাড়গ্রাম, মুকুটমণিপুরে নিগমের রিসর্ট আছে। ইতিমধ্যেই রিসর্টগুলিতে অনলাইন বুকিং পরিষেবা চালু হয়েছে। দীঘা ও তাজপুরের ক্ষেত্রেও এই সুবিধা পাওয়া যাবে।

The Bengal Government is soon going to launch helicopter and plane services across the state.

The new helicopter services will cover routes from Kolkata to Malda, Balurghat, Digha and Sagar Island for tourists every Sunday,Wednesday and Saturday. The services will however be suspended if government functions are scheduled on those days.

The tickets for Digha and Sagar Island have been priced at Rs 2,000 per person, for Malda at Rs 2,500 per person and for Balurghat at Rs 3,000 per person.

These announcements were made by the Transport Minister while replying to debates during the presentation of the budget for his Department. He also said that helicopter services would start from Kolkata to Santiniketan and Purulia.

Plane services would be introduced from Cooch Behar Airport. A double-engined nine-seater aircraft would be engaged for the purpose. The airports in Malda, Balurghat and Purulia would also be rebuilt/renovated.

 

কপ্টার , বিমান ভাড়া করছে রাজ্য সরকার

রাজ্য সরকার আরও একটি হেলিকপ্টার ভাড়া নিচ্ছে৷ কলকাতা-কোচবিহার রুটের জন্য ভাড়া নেওয়া হচ্ছে একটি বিমানও৷

পরিবহণমন্ত্রী পরিবহণ দপ্তরের ব্যায়বরাদ্দ নিয়ে বিতর্কের জবাবি ভাষণে বলেন, শীঘ্রই এই দুই পরিষেবা চালু হবে৷

বুধ, শনি ও রবিবার এই কপ্টার কলকাতা থেকে মালদহ, বালুরঘাট, দিঘা ও সাগরে পর্যটকদের নিয়ে যাওয়ার কাজে ব্যবহার করা হবে৷ তবে কোনও সরকারি কর্মসূচী থাকলে সেই পরিষেবা বন্ধ থাকবে৷

দিঘা ও সাগরে যাওয়া বা আসার জন্য মাথাপিছু ২ হাজার টাকা ভাড়া ধরা হয়েছে, মালদহ আড়াই হাজার টাকা, বালুরঘাটের ভাড়া তিন হাজার টাকা৷

পরিবহণমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘কলকাতা থেকে পুরুলিয়া, শান্তিনিকেতনের মধ্যে হেলিকপ্টার পরিষেবা চালু করা হবে৷ এ ছাড়া কোচবিহার বিমানবন্দর চালু রাখতে ৯ আসন বিশিষ্ট ডবল ইঞ্জিনের বিমান চালানো হবে৷ টেন্ডার প্রক্রিয়া শেষ৷ মালদহ, বালুরঘাট এবং পুরুলিয়ার বিমানবন্দরগুলির পুনরুজ্জীবনের কাজ চলছে৷’

The popular ‘Fish On Wheels’ concept of Benfish is going to be introduced in Digha and Puri soon.

The named is used for the Benfish service wherein cooked fish is sold in vans. The service is available in Kolkata and is very popular. These tourist spots – on in Purba Medinipur district and the other in Odisha – are very popular with Bengali tourists and hence, Benfish has come up with the decision.

Benfish functions under the State Department of Fisheries. The vans to be introduced in Digha and Puri would also be of the latest model, and the ones in Kolkata would be replaced with these latest models too.

Further, Fish On Wheels would be introduced to tap the tourist market in Jangalmahal, Ayodhya Hills, Malda, Murshidabad, Siliguri, Darjeeling, the Dooars, Cooch Behar.

 

মাছের নানা মুখরোচক পদ নিয়ে এবার বেনফিশের গাড়ি চলবে দীঘা-পুরীতেও

বেনফিশের ‘ফিশ অন হুইলস’ এবার নামতে চলেছে দীঘা-পুরীতে। এতদিন কলকাতা শহরে ঘুরে ঘুরে বিভিন্ন মুখোরোচক মাছের খাবার বিক্রি করত বেনফিশের ‘ফিশ অন হুইলস’ গাড়ি। এবার সেই গাড়িই পৌঁছে যাবে সমুদ্র সৈকতের বুকে।

উল্লেখ্য, দীঘা-পুরী দুই জায়গাতেই পর্যটকদের থাকার জন্য ব্যবস্থা করেছে বেনফিশ। সারা বছর সেখানে বহু পর্যটক বুকিং করেন, ঘুরতে যান। কিন্তু এতদিন সেই এলাকায় বেনফিশের ‘ফিশ অন হুইলস’ বা গাড়িতে করে খাবার বিক্রির কোনও ব্যবস্থা ছিল না। অবশেষে সেই ব্যবস্থাও শীঘ্র ওই দুই জায়গাতে চালু করতে চাইছে বেনফিশ।

‘ফিশ অন হুইলস’-এর নতুন মডেলের গাড়ি দীঘা ও পুরীতে নামানো হচ্ছে। ইতিমধ্যে নতুন গাড়ির বরাত দেওয়া হয়ে গিয়েছে। গাড়ি এলেই ওই দুই জায়গায় খাবার বিক্রি করা শুরু হবে। ফিশ ফ্রাই, ফিশ ব্যাটার ফ্রাই, ফিশ ফিঙ্গার, ফিশ রোল, ফিস পকোড়া, ফিশ চপ, ফিশ শিক কাবাব থেকে শুরু করে বিভিন্ন বাহারি খাবার সাজিয়ে ‘ফিশ অন হুইলস’ পৌঁছে যাবে দীঘা এবং পুরীতে।

আগামী দিনে রাজ্যের আরও একাধিক জেলা, বিশেষত পর্যটন এলাকাগুলিতেও ‘ফিশ অন হুইলস’ চালু করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে সংস্থার। বিশেষ করে জঙ্গলমহল, অযোধ্যা পাহাড়, মালদহ-মুর্শিদাবাদ, শিলিগুড়ি, দার্জিলিং, ডুয়ার্স, কোচবিহার থেকে একেবারে দক্ষিণের সুন্দরবনেও অদূর ভবিষ্যতে ‘ফিশ অন হুইলস’ চালু করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে সংস্থার।

At the Ahare Bangla food festival being held at New Town Mela Ground, a new item is being served by the State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC): sea crabs. Various dishes based on sea crabs are being sold this year.

The food festival, whose third edition is being held this year, is open to everyone from December 8 to 11. Lunch items would be available from 12 PM to 3 PM, snacks from 3 PM to 6 PM and dinner items from 6 PM to 9 PM.

For many years now, fishermen in Digha have been catching these sea crabs. SFDC has known the demand for these crabs for some time now – not just in the state and in other parts of the country like in New Delhi and Mumbai (including in five-star hotels), but also in other countries, from enquiries from Japan and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Now it is firming up plans to buy these crabs from fishermen in a systematic way and supply them to various places. For export, the countries being planned to be sent to are Japan, South Korea, China, Australia and the Gulf countries, and to Europe.

 

রঙিন কাঁকড়ার বাহারি পদে চমক দিতে চাইছে মৎস্য নিগম

সমুদ্রের রঙিন কাঁকড়ার পদ এবার বাঙালির পাতে তুলে দিতে চাইছে মৎস্য দপ্তর। দপ্তরের অধীনস্থ মৎস্য উন্নয়ন নিগম এই পরিকল্পনা করেছে। রঙিন কাঁকড়াগুলি সমুদ্রে মৎস্যজীবীদের জালে ধরা পড়ে। নিগমের দীঘা প্রকল্পের আধিকারিকদের কথায়, গত ১০ বছর ধরে এই কাঁকড়া মৎস্যজীবীদের জালে অল্প অল্প করে ধরা পড়ছিল। কিন্তু গত দু-তিন বছরে এর পরিমাণ অনেকটাই বেড়েছে।

‘আহারে বাংলা’ উৎসবে প্রথম সাধারণ বাঙালির জন্য এই কাঁকড়ার পদ আনা হচ্ছে। পরে খোলাবাজারেও বিক্রি করা হবে। সমুদ্রে বেড়াতে যাওয়া পর্যটকদের কাছে এই রঙিন কাঁকড়ার চাহিদা ভালো।

শুধু ‘আহারে বাংলা’ নয়, পরবর্তীতে কলকাতার খোলাবাজারেও এই কাঁকড়া বিক্রি করতে চাইছে নিগম। সেই সঙ্গে কাঁকড়া বিভিন্ন পদ নিগমের রেস্তরাঁতে খাওয়ানোর পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে। পাশাপাশি দেশ-বিদেশের বাজারে এই কাঁকড়া বিক্রি করে কীভাবে মুনাফা করা যায়, সেই পরিকল্পনাও করা হচ্ছে।

বিদেশে রঙিন কাঁকড়ার সবথেকে বেশি চাহিদা জাপান, কোরিয়া, চীন, অস্ট্রেলিয়া এবং ইউরোপে। আরব দুনিয়াতেও ধীরে ধীরে এই কাঁকড়ার চাহিদা বাড়ছে। এছাড়াও কলকাতা সহ দিল্লি, মুম্বইয়ের বড় বড় পাঁচতারা-সাততারা হোটেলে রঙিন কাঁকড়ার চাহিদা প্রচুর।

In order to create more job opportunities, it has been decided in Monday’s Cabinet meeting that 1,200 new posts will be made in different departments of the state government.

Partha Chatterjee, the state Parliamentary Affairs minister, said: “It has been passed in the Cabinet to create a 1,000 more posts in different offices and colleges. As many as 200 drivers and helpers will be recruited for assistance by the state Transport department.”

It may be mentioned that the state government has created thousands of job opportunities in the past six years. In June, the state government had announced 3,754 new posts. The decision to create new posts was passed in the Cabinet meeting and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has directed the state to complete the recruitment process as soon as possible.

As many as 267 posts were created for eight coastal police stations as a step to ensure security and safety of thousands of tourists visiting Digha and Mandarmoni. Around 444 posts were also created at Health and Family Welfare department and it included 187 posts at the new medical college at Raiganj.

As many as 158 posts have been created at Ramrick Das Harlalka Hospital, which is an annexure to Bangur Institute of Neuroscience. Ninety-nine posts were created at Tufanganj Mental Health Hospital, where the number of beds was increased to 150 from 33. To create job opportunities for women, as many as 2700 lady constable posts were created.

 

১২০০ নতুন পদ তৈরী করবে রাজ্য সরকার

রাজ্যে আরও কর্মসংস্থান তৈরীর লক্ষ্যে ১২০০ নতুন পদ তৈরী করছে রাজ্য সরকার।

পরিষদ বিষয়ক মন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় বলেন, বিভিন্ন কলেজ ও অফিসে আরও নতুন ১০০০টি পদ তৈরীর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে মন্ত্রিসভা। এছাড়া আরও ২০০টি ড্রাইভার ও হেল্পারের পদ তৈরী করা হয়েছে রাজ্য পরিবহন দপ্তরে।

প্রসঙ্গত, রাজ্য সরকার গত জুন মাসে ৩৭৫৪টি নতুন পদ সৃষ্টির কথা ঘোষণা করে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন ওই প্রক্রিয়া খুব তাড়াতাড়ি সম্পন্ন করতে।

দীঘা ও মন্দারমণিতে আগত পর্যটকদের সুরক্ষার জন্য ২৬৭টি পদ সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে আটটি উপকূলীয় থানার জন্য। স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ দপ্তরে ৪৪৪টি পদ তৈরী হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে রায়গঞ্জের নতুন মেডিক্যাল কলেজের জন্য ১৮৭টি পদ তৈরী হয়েছে।

রামরিক দাস হরলালকা হাসপাতালে সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে ১৫৮টি নতুন পদ। তুফানগঞ্জ মেন্টাল হেলথ হাসপাতালে ৯৯টি পদ তৈরী হয়েছে। এখানে শয্যা সংখ্যাও ৩৩ থেকে বেড়ে ১৫০ হয়েছে।

মহিলাদের কর্মসংস্থানকে নজর রেখে ২৭০০টি কনস্টেবল পদ তৈরী হয়েছে।
