Trinamool Congress MPs from both the Houses today staged a dharna near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi inside Parliament complex on the issue of killings of India in America.

The MPs held placards which said: “The world is one. All citizens are our brothers and sisters. We must take care of them” and “All Indians are our brothers and sisters, stop attacking them in USA”.

Speaking on this issue in the Lok Sabha, Saugata Roy said: “This is the result of a persistent hate campaign against Indians which is taking place in the United States, especially after the new Government came to power.”

He asked why “the Central Government, especially our very voluble, vocal and articulate Prime Minister is keeping a strange silence on the issue.”

Earlier, Trinamool Chairperson Mamata Banerjee had tweeted on the issue and had also written a letter to the Union Minister for External Affairs, urging the Centre to take up the issue at the highest level in US.

আমেরিকায় ভারতীয়দের উপরে হামলার ঘটনা নিয়ে আজ তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সাংসদরা সংসদ চত্বরে মহাত্মা গান্ধীর মূর্তির সামনে ধর্ণা করেন।

সাংসদদের হাতে থাকা প্ল্যাকার্ড এর কিছু স্লোগানঃ “বিশ্বের সব মানুষই সমান।  সব দেশের মানুষই আমাদের ভাই-বোন। আমাদের কর্তব্য তাদের রক্ষা করা” এবং “প্রবাসী ভারতীয় ভাই-বোনেদের নিগ্রহ বন্ধ করতে হবে।”

এই বিষয়ে লোকসভায় বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে সাংসদ সৌগত রায় বলেন, “বিশেষ করে নতুন সরকার ক্ষমতায় আসার পর আমেরিকা যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ভারতীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে ক্রমবর্ধমান বর্ণবিদ্বেষী আক্রমণের ফলাফল এটি”।

“কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার, আমাদের বাকপটু, স্পষ্টভাষী প্রধানমন্ত্রী কেন এই বিষয়ে চুপ করে আছেন?” এই প্রশ্নও তুলেছেন তিনি।

দলনেত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এর আগে সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় এই নিয়ে টুইট করেছেন এবং বিদেশমন্ত্রী সুষমা স্বরাজকে চিঠি লিখেছেন প্রবাসী ভারতীয়দের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে। তিনি কেন্দ্রীয় বিদেশমন্ত্রীকে অনুরোধ করেছেন যেন এই ঘটনাগুলি উচ্চপর্যায়ে আলোচনা করা হয়।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged jatra artistes to come forward and protest against demonetisation while inaugurating Jatra Utsav in Barasat. “Jatra artistes are also suffering, they have lost their happiness. I urge everyone to come forward and protest”, she said.

“Our MPs staged protests in Delhi for three days against demonetisation. It is important that people get to work “, she said. She raised the question of why the Centre did not ban only Rs 1000 notes. “Why did they cause so much suffering to people?” she asked.

Mamata Banerjee asked the jatra artistes whether they are getting same number of bookings for shows as before post-demonetisation and the crowd, in a chorus, said, “No”.

She said, micro and small-scale artisans who showcase their products in fairs have also been affected as many programmes have been cancelled. Bookings of shows for jatra festivals have also been cancelled causing serious inconveniences to the people involved in this sector.

বারাসাতে যাত্রা উৎসবের উদ্বোধন করতে গিয়ে বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে যাত্রা শিল্পীদের প্রতিবাদ করার আহ্বান জানালেন। “যাত্রা শিল্পীরাও নোট বাতিলের ফলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। আমি সকলকেই আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি এই নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ জানানোর”, তিনি বলেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “আমাদের সাংসদরা দিল্লীতে তিন দিন নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ করেন। মানুষের জন্য কাজ করা খুব জরুরি।” তিনি প্রশ্ন তোলেন, কেন কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার শুধুমাত্র ১০০০ টাকার নোট বাতিল করল না, কেন তারা সমস্ত জনসাধারণকে এত কষ্টের মধ্যে ফেলল।

তিনি প্রশ্ন করেন, “যাত্রা শিল্পীরা কি নোট বাতিলের পর এখনও আগের মতই ডাক পাচ্ছেন?” উপস্থিত সকলে সমস্বরে জবাব দেয়, “না”।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, মাঝারি ও ক্ষুদ্র শিল্পীরা যারা বিভিন্ন মেলায় নিজেদের তৈরি জিনিসপত্র বিপনন করে থাকেন তারাও ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছেন। পাশাপাশি যাত্রার অনেক অনুষ্ঠান বাতিল হয়ে যাওয়ায় যাত্রা শিল্পীরাও চরম ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছেন।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today accused him of “removing crucial files” related to the notes ban. She also alleged that demonetisation was a “ploy to transform white money into black and black money into white”.

“They (Modi government) have turned the CBI into the Conspiracy Bureau of India and are using it for pursuing vendetta politics. The CBI has created a back office to come up with false evidence against our leaders to implicate them in chit fund cases,” she alleged.

Mamata Banerjee alleged that the CPI(M) had entered into a “political match-fixing” with the BJP as it was “under the Left rule that the chit funds had mushroomed in the state”.

“It was during the CPI(M) regime that Rose Valley and Saradha chit funds came into being. What were the SEBI and RBI doing then? Several top CPI(M) leaders were involved in the chit fund business but none of them was summoned. It only shows that the CPI(M) and the BJP have teamed up in Bengal,” she said.

নোট বাতিল সংক্রান্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সব ফাইল সরিয়ে ফেলা হয়েছে বলে এদিন অভিযোগ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তাঁর অভিযোগ নোট বাতিল সাদা টাকাকে কালো টাকায় রুপান্তরিত করার এক কৌশল।

তিনি বলেন, “ওরা সিবিআই কে কন্সপিরেসি ব্যুরো অফ ইন্ডিয়ায় পরিণত করে তা রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসা চরিতার্থ করার কাজে লাগাচ্ছে।  একটা ব্যাক অফিস তৈরি করেছে সেখানে আমাদের নেতাদের বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যে অভিযোগের প্রমাণ তৈরি করছে”।

সিপিএমএর সঙ্গে বিজেপির ম্যাচ ফিক্সিং হয়েছে। বাম আমলে রাজ্যে যখন চিট ফান্দ তৈরি হয়েছিল তখন ওরা কি করছিল?কেন পদক্ষেপ নেয়নি এই প্রশ্নও তুলেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “রোজ ভ্যালি, সারদা তৈরি হয়েছে সিপিএমের আমলে। সেই সময় আরবিআই, সেবি কেন চিট ফাণ্ড ব্যবসা করতে দিয়েছিল? অনেক সিপিএম নেতা এই চিট ফান্ডের সঙ্গে জড়িত। তাদের কেন তলব করা হচ্ছে না? এর থেকেই স্পষ্ট সিপিএম-বিজেপি বাংলায় একজোট হয়েছে”।

Coming down heavily on the Centre on the issue of demonetisation and political vendetta, Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Chairperson Mamata Banerjee today said everyone is suffering due to ‘Super Emergency’.

“Modi Babu bulldozed his decision. Institutions were not allowed to do their job. Whoever is speaking up is being silenced with fear-mongering. Agencies are hounding them,” she said.

“Within hours of announcement of demonetisation I raised my voice. Why did they introduce Rs 2000 notes after banning Rs 1000? People will ban Modi Sarkar soon,” the CM added.

She thundered, “They promised situation will normalise within 50 days. Nothing has improved. Are 50 days not over? Why are restrictions on withdrawal limit still in place?”

She said Trinamool cannot be scared by fear-mongering tactics. “They thought TMC is made of soft mud so even rats can dig it. We fight with tigers, we won’t get rattled by a push from rats,” the Chief Minister said.

She reiterated that CBI has become ‘Conspiracy Bureau of India’.

Highlighting the sufferings of people across all strata of society, she said the protests will continue and the next course of action will be decided after Gangasagar Mela.

Today was the third day of Trinamool’s nationwide protests against demonetisation and political vendetta by the Centre. A delegation of Trinamool MPs met the Honourable President today in Delhi.

From November 8, 2016, the day demonetisation was announced, Mamata Banerjee has been vocally protesting against the policy which has led to immense suffering of the people. She has been actively tweeting against the Narendra Modi government and has also addressed rallies in Delhi, Lucknow, Patna and Kolkata.

Trinamool MPs had been sitting on dharna for the last three days in Delhi. Similar dharnas were held in front of RBI office and CGO complex in Kolkata. Dharnas were held in Punjab, Manipur, Tripura, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha also.

Mamata Banerjee has given the slogan ‘Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao’ and demanded that a ‘National Government’ be formed to save the country from this mess.

 

নোট বাতিল ও রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসার বিরুদ্ধে তৃণমূলের প্রতিবাদের আজ তৃতীয় দিন

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের হঠকারী নোটবাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত ও কেন্দ্রের প্রতিহিংসামূলক রাজনীতির বিরুদ্ধে তৃণমূলের দেশব্যাপী প্রতিবাদী আন্দোলনের আজ ছিল তৃতীয় দিন।

আজ দিল্লিতে দুপুর ২ টোয় তৃণমূল সাংসদদের এক প্রতিনিধি দল রাষ্ট্রপতির সঙ্গে দেখা করে স্মারকলিপি জমা দেন।

২০১৬-র ৮ নভেম্বর নোট বাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত ঘোষণা হওয়ার পর থেকেই এর বিরুদ্ধে সরব হয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। নোট বাতিলের ফলে সাধারণ মানুষ চরম ভোগান্তির শিকার। টুইটারেও তিনি মোদীর সিদ্ধান্তের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ জানান। একইসঙ্গে দিল্লি, লখনউ, কলকাতা ও পাটনার জনসভাতেও তিনি এর বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ জানান।

গত ৩ দিন ধরে তৃণমূল সাংসদরা নোটবাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত ও প্রতিহিংসামূলক রাজনীতির বিরুদ্ধে দিল্লীর সাউথ অ্যাভিনিউতে ধর্ণায় বসছেন। ধর্ণা হয় কলকাতার সিজিও কমপ্লেক্স ও রিজার্ভ ব্যাংকের সামনেও। পাঞ্জাব, বিহারের কিষাণগঞ্জ, মনিপুর, ত্রিপুরা, আসাম ও ঝাড়খণ্ডেও চলেছে প্রতিবাদ।

দেশকে রক্ষার স্বার্থে ইতিমধ্যেই জাতীয় সরকার গঠনের দাবি করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। ‘মোদী হাঠাও, দেশ বাঁচাও’ স্লোগানও দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

Trinamool Congress legislators staged a demonstration outside RBI office in BBD Bag over the ever-increasing ordeal of common people even after one month of demonetisation of high value notes.

The Trinamool MLAs, led by party secretary general Partha Chatterjee and senior leaders Firhad Hakim, Sovan Chatterjee and Sobhandeb Chatterjee, marched towards RBI building on BBD Bag. The MLAs held posters and placards highlighting the ordeal of people.

Partha Chatterjee said that one month had lapsed but no relief had been given to the people. Long queues are still seen in front of ATMs and banks and there was shortage of notes. “People are standing in the queues for hours to get their own money. More than 100 people have died and RBI is not informing about the exact amount of notes it has given in different banks in the state. This is most unfortunate. RBI should come out with a statement,” he said.

Trinamool Congress will hold meetings and rallies all over the state for the next three days to protest against demonetisation.

 

নোট বাতিল ইস্যুতে কলকাতায় রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্ক অভিযান তৃণমূলের

নোট বাতিলের প্রতিবাদে কলকাতার বুকে রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের সামনে বিক্ষোভ দেখিয়ে তৃণমূল সুর চড়াল।

বুধবার তৃণমূলের মন্ত্রী ও বিধায়কেরা বিধানসভা থেকে হেঁটে রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের সামনে গিয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির বিরুদ্ধে বিক্ষোভ দেখান; অন্যদিকে, বাংলার সব ব্লকে নোটবন্দীর প্রতিবাদে মিটিং–‌মিছিল করেন তৃণমূলের নেতার ও কর্মীরা। তাঁরা স্লোগান তোলেন, মোদি হঠাও, দেশ বাঁচাও। নোট বাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত প্রত্যাহার করতে হবে।

বুধবার সকালে বিধানসভায় তৃণমূলের পরিষদীয় দল ঠিক করে বিধানসভা থেকে হেঁটে বিধায়কেরা বিক্ষোভ দেখাতে যাবেন রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের সামনে। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নির্দেশেই এদিনের এই কর্মসূচি নেওয়া হয়। বিধায়কেরা বিধানসভা থেকে হেঁটে যান রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের সামনে। ব্যাঙ্কের সামনে একটি ছোট লরিও রাখা হয়। সেখান থেকে মাইক্রোফোনে বক্তব্য পেশ করেন পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি, শোভনদেব চ্যাটার্জি, ফিরহাদ হাকিম, অরূপ বিশ্বাস, শোভন চ্যাটার্জি, সুব্রত বক্সি।

বিক্ষোভে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মন্ত্রী পূর্ণেন্দু বসু, শশী পাঁজা, অসীমা পাত্র, বিধায়ক সুজিত বসু, নির্মল ঘোষ, তাপস রায়, নার্গিস বেগম, গুলশান মল্লিক, মালা সাহা, বৈশালী ডালমিয়া–‌সহ অনেকে। স্লোগান দেওয়া হয়।

পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় বলেন, বৃহস্পতিবারও বেলা সাড়ে ১২টা নাগাদ রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের সামনে একইভাবে বিক্ষোভ দেখানো হবে। তৃণমূল ভবনে খবর এসেছে, বিভিন্ন জেলায় এদিনের কর্মসূচি সফল হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবারও এই কর্মসূচি পালন করা হবে। চলবে শুক্রবার পর্যন্ত।‌

The Trinamool Congress staged a ‘dharna’ in front of the State Election Commission office in Kolkata protesting against the Commission’s sudden decision to postpone counting of votes for the Bidhannagar, Asansol and Bali Municipal elections held on Saturday.

Trinamool Kolkata district head and Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee led the dharna. Trinamool protests against the decision of postponing counting of votes at Bidhannagar, Bali and Asansol, Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterje said.

All the Trinamool councillors were present in the dharna with large participation of women councillors of the party.

Trinamool All India General Secretary Subrata Bakshi and Secretary General Partha Chatterjee were present during the dharna. Senior leaders, State Minister Subrata Mukherjee, Irinamool Trade Union president Dola Sen joined the dharna too.

Trinamool Congress will organise a protest rally tomorrow from College Street to the Rani Rashmoni Road tomorrow.

Today the All India Federation of University and College Teachers Organisation, AIFUCTO, is holding a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to protest against the Government’s step motherly attitude towards college and university professors long pending demands and to highlight their career problems.

Due to inordinate delay of Minister of Human Resource Development’s concurrence, the University Grants Commission decision for the notification regarding modification in UGC Regulations passed by 497th Commission Meeting held on 10 January 2014 i.e. pending for a year, benefits of career advancement scheme are not being given.

Besides this, there is a drastic reduction in budgetary allocations for HRD. This year the budget for education has been slashed by 16.5%. The Government is not considering their demand, to constitute a Pay Revision Committee as the college and university teachers are not covered by the Central Pay Commission.

The Government is not ready to hear their demands or give them an appointment to meet the Human Resource Development Minister.
We urge the Government to immediately call the Federation, the only All India Organisation of College and University Teachers for a discussion and take immediate steps to give the necessary concurrences set by UGC to MHRD. Otherwise, the College and University teachers may go on an indefinite strike.
