Trinamool Chairperson Mamata Banerjee today addressed the extended core committee meeting at Nazrul Mancha.

In her speech, she attacked the Centre on demonetisation and hasty implementation of GST. She termed demonetisation “the biggest scam” and asked party workers to observe ‘Black Day’ on November 8 (the anniversary of demonetisation).

She also slammed the Opposition in Bengal for their negative politics.

 

Here are 20 things that Mamata Banerjee said at Trinamool’s extended core committee meeting:

  • The festive season was peaceful without any untoward incident anywhere. Despite so many provocations and conspiracies, attempts to incite riots and violence were thwarted by the people. Credit must go to the local clubs, puja committees and administration.
  • Trinamool did not come power by sitting on armchairs. There is no room for complacency. Trinamool stands for mass movement. Trinamool stands for people. Trinamool stands for struggle. We lost thousands of our party workers. The new generation must be aware of the history of the party. I have documented our struggles in my books.
  • Listen to what people are saying on social media. Reach out to them. We are a pro-people party. We will never take any decision which is against the interests of the people.
  • There is no place for groupism or ego-fights in Trinamool. We will not tolerate anti-party activities. Party discipline is foremost. If you cannot follow it, you are free to leave. It is difficult to earn respect but very easy to lose it. A true leader is one who has people by their side. Workers are our biggest assets.
  • The media in Delhi is controlled by the ruling party at Centre. They cannot open their mouth against the Centre. If they dare to do so, they are threatened by the agencies like ED and CBI. The American can criticise Trump but the Indian media does not speak against Modi.
  • The Centre is running a dictatorial regime. They cannot break the TMC with intimidations and politics of coercion. We will speak out against any injustice.
  • The Opposition in Bengal does not play a constructive role. All the three parties have joined hands to fight us. Ram-Shyam and Ghanshyam have come together to form a ghont (unholy alliance).
  • There is blatant use of money power by the Centre. The ruling party is using black money to finish off all small parties. They want only one party to exist. They are now buying votes with money power in Gujarat.
  • We will observe ‘Kala Dibas’ (Black Day) in all blocks on November 8 to mark the anniversary of demonetisation. Rallies will be organised between 2-3 PM. Prepare slogans to reach out to people.
  • Demonetisation is the biggest scam. There must be an investigation into it. I had tweeted within 45 minutes of the announcement. Today Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram, Arun Shourie are saying the same thing. Even eminent economists have spoken out against demonetisation.
  • What purpose did demonetisation serve? Did it weed out black money? No. Did it put an end to terrorism? No. Only one party converted its black money into white. They have also stashed away their black money abroad.
  • I have also received threats for speaking out. They threaten to use the CBI against me. Let them do whatever they want to. In Tagore’s words, this ‘monihar’ (necklace of gems) – referring to CBI – will turn into ‘bishhar’ (necklace of poison) once they are out of power.
  • They are coercing people to link their Aadhaar with their mobile number. This is their tactic. Even a private conversation between a husband and wife will now be pried on. Will there be no privacy left? I refuse to link my mobile number with Aadhaar. Left the service providers cut off my connection if necessary.
  • People are now scared of the phrase “mitron”. They keep harping on about their 56 inch ‘chhati’ (chest). We don’t need a ‘chhati’. We need a ‘chhata’ (umbrella) of unity that gives protection to people.
  • Despite a huge burden of debt (around Rs 2 lakh crore), we are carrying out all developmental programmes and schemes. 8.5 crore people receive rice at Rs 2/kg under Khadya Sathi. We have distributed 70 lakh cycles under Sabuj Sathi scheme. We have distributed scholarships under Siksha Shree scheme to 1.14 crore students. Over a crore minority students have received scholarships. We have distributed 15 lakh saplings under Sabuj Shree scheme. Healthcare is free in Bengal.
  • After the floods, Assam and Bihar got financial aid from the Centre. We don’t begrudge them. But Bengal was not given a single penny. Why? Because BJP is in power in these States and not in Bengal? They are systematically destroying the federal structure.
  • Bengal has been vocal against the hasty implementation of GST. But the Centre did not listen to us. And now the small and medium enterprises have been badly hit. The system was not prepared at all. About 50% people could not do uplinking. Total system failure. Almost 1 lakh people lost their jobs in Surat alone.
  • The Centre is manipulating growth figures. The GDP growth has fallen from 7% to 5.7% in the last quarter. They have zero performance. They only speak the language of riots and violence.
  • We will keep raising the issues concerning people. We will bring them up in Parliament. They threaten to put us in jail; let them do it. We will not bow down.
  • We are a pro-people party. People are our strength. Trinamool is like a big banyan tree that gives shade to all. People are the ultimate judge in a democracy.

 

তৃণমূলের বর্ধিত কোর কমিটির বৈঠকে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের বক্তব্য দেখে নিন এক নজরে

আজ নজরুল মঞ্চে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের  বর্ধিত কোর কমিটি বৈঠকে বক্তব্য করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। মঞ্চ থেকে  কেন্দ্রকে তীব্র ভাষায় আক্রমণ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

ওনার বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশঃ

১. বাংলায় সব উৎসব আমাদের নিজেদের মতো করে পালন করি। সকলকে অনেক শুভেচ্ছা। এত চক্রান্ত, প্ররোচনা সত্ত্বেও উৎসবের দিনগুলি শান্তি পূর্ণ ভাবে কেটেছে। সেজন্য সকল লোকাল ক্লাব, পুজো কমিটি সহ সব সাধারণ মানুষকে ধন্যবাদ।

২. তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস আরাম কেদারায় বসে ক্ষমতায় আসেনি। অনেক সংগ্রাম, ত্যাগ করে ক্ষমতায় এসেছে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস। হাজার হাজার কর্মী প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন, ঘর ছাড়া হয়েছেন। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সংগঠিত, সুশৃঙ্খল দল। মানুষকে নিয়ে কাজ করাই হচ্ছে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের লক্ষ্য।

৩. তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস মানে মা-মাটি-মানুষ, তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস মানে সংগ্রাম, আন্দোলন, জনগণ। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস যা করেছে সমগ্র রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাসে কেউ করে দেখাতে পারবে না। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস কেন তৈরি হয়েছিল, ১৯৯৩ সাল থেকে তার সংগ্রামের কথা আমি লিপিবদ্ধ করে রেখেছি ছাত্র যুবদের জন্য। আমরা প্রতি বছরের কার্যকলাপ লিপিবদ্ধ করে রাখি।

৪. সোশ্যাল নেটওয়ার্কে খোঁজ রাখতে হবে, মানুষ কি ভাবছে জানতে হবে। যে কাজ জনগণের পক্ষে সেটাই আমরা করব। যে কাজ জনগণের পক্ষে নয় তা আমরা করব না।

৫. তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসে গ্রুপ করার, দল বিরোধী কাজ করার কোন জায়গা নেই। আমরা প্রগতিশীল ভাবধারা নিয়ে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস তৈরি করেছি। যার মধ্যে যা ভালো জিনিস আছে আমরা তা গ্রহণ করেছি। সুনাম অর্জন করতে অনেক সময় লাগে কিন্তু বদনাম করতে এক সেকেন্ড সময় লাগে। সবাইকে নিয়ে যে চলে সেই নেতা। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের কর্মীরাই দলের সম্পদ।

৬. দিল্লি মিডিয়াকে কন্ট্রোলে রেখেছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার, তারা ওদের বিরুদ্ধে মুখ খুলতে পারে না; যদি কেউ বলে ফেলে তাকে জব্দ করার জন্য তার বাড়িতে ইনকাম ট্যাক্স বা সিবিআই বা ইডি পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয়। আমেরিকার মিডিয়া যেভাবে ট্রাম্পের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করেছে ভারতের মিডিয়া তা করতে পারে না। কারণ তাদের ভয় দেখানো হচ্ছে, খুন করা হচ্ছে।

৭. যেভাবে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের স্বৈরতান্ত্রিক চাবুক চলছে, যারা স্বচ্ছতা, সাহসিকতা, সংগ্রামের সাথে রাজনীতি, আন্দোলন করে তাদের জন্য তা বিষময় হয়ে দাঁড়াচ্ছে। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার টাকা আর এজেন্সির জোরে, অত্যাচার, চক্রান্ত করে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসকে ভাঙতে পারবে না। আমরা অন্যায়ের প্রতিবাদ করবই।

৮. বাংলায় যে কটা বিরোধী দল আছে ওরা শুধু নেগেটিভ রোল প্লে করে। সব দল মিলিত হয়েছে আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে। ভোট এলেই রাম-শ্যাম-ঘনশ্যাম ৩টি দল এক হয়ে গেল।

৯. কাউকে প্রচুর টাকা দিয়ে, কাউকে ভয় দেখিয়ে কিনে নিচ্ছে। ভারতবর্ষকে নিয়ে কোটি কোটি টাকার, কালবাজারির খেলা চলছে যাতে সব ছোট রাজনৈতিক দলগুলি শেষ হয়ে যায় আর একমাত্র দাঙ্গাকারী দলটি বেঁচে থাকে। গুজরাতে ক্ষমতায় আসার জন্য টাকা দিয়ে ভোট কিনছে।

১০. আগামী ৮ই নভেম্বর দুপুর ২-৩ টেয় নোট বাতিলের এক বছর উপলক্ষে ব্লকে ব্লকে ‘কালা দিবস’ পালন করা হবে। নোটবাতিল ঘোষণার ৪৫ মিনিটের মধ্যে আমি টুইট করে যা বলেছিলাম আজ মনমোহন সিং, পি চিদাম্বরম, অরুন শৌরি সহ সব অর্থনীতিবিদরা একই কথা বলছে।

১১. নোটবাতিল সবচেয়ে বড় কেলেঙ্কারি।এর তদন্ত হওয়া উচিত। এটি দুর্নীতির ধন্দ। কালো টাকা আজ পর্যন্ত উদ্ধার হয়নি। দুর্নীতি আজ পর্যন্ত রোখেনি। টেররিজম আজ পর্যন্ত রোখেনি। নোট বাতিলের ফলে সবার ক্ষতি হয়েছে, লাভ শুধু একটা দলেরই হয়েছে, যত ব্ল্যাক মানি সব সাদা হয়ে গেছে। নিজেদের টাকা বিদেশে মজুত করেছে।  

১২. আমাকেও থ্রেট করা হয় এটা ওটা বলা যাবে না। ট্যাক্টফুলি সারদা নারদা করা হয়েছে তৃণমূলকে হিউমিলিয়েট করার জন্য। আমাদের পেছনে সিবিআই, ইডি লাগায় তাও আমরা প্রতিবাদ করে যাই। আজ যে মনিহার গলায় পোরে বসে আছে, যেদিন ক্ষমতায় থাকবে না, এই মণিহার বিশধর হারে পরিণত হবে।

১৩. মোবাইলেও আধার কার্ড দিতে হবে। স্বামী স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে কি কথা বলবে সেটা ট্যাপ করে পার্টি অফিসে পাঠিয়ে দেবে। মানুষের সব অধিকার কেড়ে নেওয়া হচ্ছে। মোবাইলের সঙ্গে আধার কার্ড নম্বর আমি দেব না, তাতে মোবাইল না থাকলে না থাকবে।

১৪. মিত্রোঁ বললেই মানুষ ভয় পেয়ে যাচ্ছে। কথায় কথায় কেউ বলছে আমার নেতার এত বড় ছাতি। আরে ছাতি চাই না, এই দেশকে একত্র করার ছাতা চাই।   

১৫. মাথায় এত (প্রায় ২লক্ষ কোটি টাকা) দেনা নিয়ে এত প্রকল্প কোন একটা রাজ্য করে দেখাক। ২ টাকা কিলো চাল ৮.৫ কোটি লোক পায় খাদ্য সাথীতে, সবুজ সাথী সাইকেল ৭০ লক্ষ ছেলেমেয়েরা পেয়ে গেছে। শিক্ষাশ্রী প্রায় ১ কোটি ২৪ লক্ষ, সংখ্যালঘু স্কলারশিপ ১.৫ কোটি হয়ে যাবে। সবুজশ্রী প্রায় ১৫ লক্ষ গাছের চারা ইতিমধ্যেই বিলি করা হয়েছে। আমাদের সরকার বিনা পয়সায় চিকিৎসা দেয়।

১৬. বন্যার পর আসাম, বিহার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে ত্রাণের টাকা পেল। কিন্তু বাংলা একটা টাকাও পেল না, যেহেতু বিজেপি সরকার নয়। টোটাল ডিস্ক্রিমিনেশন, ফেডেরাল স্ত্রাকচারে আননেসেসারিলি ইন্টারফেয়ারেন্স।

১৭. ৫০% লোক এখনও আপলিঙ্কিং করতে পারেনি জিএসটিতে। তার মানে সিস্টেম ফেলিওর। আমরা ছাড়া কেউ জিএসটির প্রতিবাদ করেনি। শুধু গুজ্রাটের সুরাটে ১লক্ষ লোক চাকরি হারিয়েছে। ছোট ও মাঝারি অনেক ব্যাবসা বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে।

১৮. দেশটাকে রসাতলে পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। গত বছর এই সময় ৭.৯% গ্রোথ ছিল আর আজ সেখানে ৫.৭% এই কোয়ার্টারে। কোনও পারফরমেন্স নেই। কেউ কেউ বলছে পালিশ করে দেব, মেরে দেব, এমন ভাষা ওদের নিজস্ব। ওদের ভাষা দাঙ্গা, গুন্ডামি করার।

১৯. আমরা মানুষের কথা তুলে ধরবই। পার্লামেন্টেও কথা তুলব। আমরা প্রতিবাদ করব। তাতে যদি সবাইকে জেলে পোরে, পুরুক। আমরা মাথা নত করব না।

২০. আমাদের সরকার জনগণের সরকার, আমরা প্রো-পিপল। মানুষই আমাদের শক্তি। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস একটা বটবৃক্ষ। মানুষই তৃণমূলের একমাত্র গণ দেবতা।

The state government has allocated a fund of Rs 300 crore to provide financial assistance to those who have lost their jobs due to demonetisation in other states and have come back home. The scheme to provide financial assistance has been named “Samarthan”.

It may be mentioned that state Finance Minister Amit Mitra had announced the unique step of providing financial assistance to “stand beside the skilled workers” while presenting the Budget in the Assembly on February 10. Bengal is the only State in the country to take such a step for demonetisation-hit workers.

On Monday, the state government has decided to allocate Rs 300 crore for the scheme initially in nine districts. Under the scheme, Rs 50,000 each will be given to 50,000 such workers to start their own business so that they can earn their livelihood and don’t have to suffer after losing their jobs due to the hasty decision of the Central government to demonetise high value notes.

নোটবন্দীর ফলে ভিন রাজ্যে কর্মচ্যুতদের নতুন ব্যবসা শুরু করার জন্য  আর্থিক সাহায্য দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল রাজ্য সরকার। এই প্রকল্পের নাম ‘সমর্থন’।

উল্লেখ্য, গত ১০ই ফেব্রুয়ারি বাজেট পেশ করার সময়ই অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র নোটবাতিলের ফলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদানের কথা ঘোষণা করেছিলেন।

এই প্রকল্পের জন্য ৯টি জেলা বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে। সোমবার ৯ টি জেলায় এই প্রকল্পে ৩০০ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় রাজ্য সরকার। এই প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের স্বনিযুক্তিকরণের জন্য মাথাপিছু ৫০ হাজার টাকা করে আর্থিক সহায়তা দেবে সরকার যাতে তারা তাদের নিজেদের ব্যবসা শুরু করতে পারেন। প্রতিটি জেলায় এই ধরনের কর্মহীনদের শনাক্ত করতে একটি কমিটিও গঠন করা হয়েছে।

It was a busy and productive day for Trinamool MPs in Parliament today. The day began with dharna on the completion of 90 days since demonetisation. The MPs highlighted the sufferings of the common people due to restrictions on cash withdrawal and demanded all restrictions be removed immediately.

Trinamool had given a Notice of Suspension of Business under Rule 267 to discuss the limits on withdrawal of cash. Speaking on the issue, Chief Whip of the party in Rajya Sabha, Sukhendu Sekhar Roy said: “Three months have passed since the Government announced demonetisation.”

SS Roy reminded the House that the PM had asked for 50 days for situation to normalise but 90 days are over and cash crunch is still there. “Our party is against the restrictions on cash withdrawal. Govt must immediately remove these restrictions,” he added.

Dola Sen raised the issue of electoral reforms in her Zero Hour Mention in Rajya Sabha. She said, “The issue has been part of my party’s DNA, its very existence, since it was established on 1st January, 1998. In last 18 yrs, Trinamool has dedicated first section of every manifesto to electoral reforms.” She said solution to electoral reforms is state funding through Election Commission.

During Question Hour, Leader of the AITC Parliamentary Party in Rajya Sabha, Derek O’Brien raised the issue of online trolls. He said: “In today’s digital medium, everyone from civil society, every citizen can be a journalist because you can broadcast from your mobile phones.” He wanted to know if the government is planning to issue an advisory for high Constitutional authorities, including the Prime Minister of India, who are following unknown people on the digital medium.

Speaking during a discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address in Lok Sabha, Trinamool MP Saugata Roy said that demonetisation is the most  senseless, cruel, heartless and reckless step taken by a govt since independence.

He slammed the government over demonetisation, political vendetta, rising intolerance in the country, deaths due to railway accidents, Maoist attacks, law and order situation in Jammu & Kashmir and foreign policy vis-a-vis China and Pakistan.

‘Ardh Satya’

He called the President’s speech ‘Ardh Satya’ as it does not mention most of the important issue facing the nation. He expressed concern over the protectionist policy of US which may create problems for trade and industry in India; Saugata Roy expressed solidarity with IT technologists working in the US. He also felt worried about the China-Pakistan axis being active against India.

Demonetisation

He teared into the government on the issue of demonetisation. He said, “Demonetisation has destroyed the financial structure of our country. Why did you have to kill whole economy to get black money”? He added, “Ninety per cent of our people use currency notes, 45% of our economy is informal. Sir, you know the Prime Minister talks about digital economy. The total number of credit and debit cards in this country of 125 crore people is 9 crore. There are only 1.36 lakh bank branches in this country, only 2.18 lakh ATMs. Now, in a country which has 5.5 lakh villages, with this few debit and credit cards, with this few ATMs, how can you say that the economy will go digital? It has killed lives”

Saugata Roy demanded to know ow much of black money has been deposited in Rs 1000/500 notes? He said the RBI Governor could not provide the answer. The RBI Governor could not tell us how much time is required to remove the restrictions on withdrawals, he added. Calling demonetisation a surgical strike on the people of India, he said GDP will fall because of the reckless step and that people will respond to this action.

Political Vendetta

Terming the arrests of Trinamool’s Leader in Lok Sabha, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, and MP Tapas Pal as political vendetta, Saugata Roy said Centre is misusing agencies like CBI because the party, led by Mamata Banerjee, has been vocal against demonetisation from Day 1. Saugata Roy said the party will fight against political vendetta on the streets and people will ultimately throw this government out of power. He demanded to know why investigation was not being allowed into the Sahara diaries.

Bank NPAs

Saugata Roy made a mention of the crisis in banking sector, highlighting that total NPAs of banks stands at whooping Rs 8 lakh crore. He wondered how Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi were allowed to flee the country. He added that the President’s speech does not mention the word ‘unemployment’ and that the country is facing a crisis in private sector investment.

Law and Order

Saugata Roy criticised the government over the increased incidents of Maoist attacks in the country. He also highlighted the absence of any mention of ‘intolerance’ in the President’s speech. “Dalits were attacked in Gujarat. In Karnataka a rationalist was killed by Hindu extremists,” he said. Saugata Roy also spoke about the violence in Jammu & Kashmir in 2016 following the encounter of Burhan Wani. He attacked the government, which champions itself over women empowerment, over the fact that only Rs 400 crore out of Rs 2000 crore Nirbhaya Fund was in implementation stage.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a press conference in New Delhi today after the all-party meet to decide on the future steps to continue the constructive opposition to demonetisation.

Mamata Banerjee had already announced a State-wide ‘Modi Hatao Desh Bachao’ campaign last week, while addressing the media in Kolkata. The eight-day campaign will begin from January 1, coinciding with the foundation day of the Trinamool Congress, and will continue for a week.

At the press conference, Mamata Banerjee said that the Opposition parties are together on the issue of opposing the Central Government on demonetisation.

Regarding the future course of action, she said, “We will make a common minimum agenda on corruption and demonetisation and work together in the future”.

Commenting on the devastating effect that demonetisation has had on the country, she said, “The economy is totally shattered. From exports to MSME, from farmers to labourers to traders, everyone is crying. Tea garden and jute workers are not getting wages. Workers under the 100 Days’ Work Scheme are not getting wages from banks”.

Then, “the tribal people in remote areas, who are the poorest of the poor, are suffering” because transactions in cash have come down drastically.

She said that “banks and ATMs are cashless” yet “the Centre is spending crores on advertisements”.

She gave a suitable retort to Narendra Modi’s war cry of ‘achhe din’ when she said, “Modi ji said he will bring ‘achhe din’ – is this (referring to demonetisation) the example of ‘achhe din’?”

In fact, referring to the Modi Government’s promise of bringing back black money stashed in foreign countries’ banks, she said, “Let them bring back black money from foreign accounts, we will support them”. However, that is not happening.

Mamata Banerjee said that the prolonged pain of demonetisation has hurt people so much that they “are losing faith on banks”. In fact, she accused the Centre of “looting people to pay the NPAs (non-performing assets) of banks”, NPAs which have been mounting day by day over the last few years.

She then came down hard on the “false promises” of the Prime Minister to ease monetary restrictions after 50 days: “Will restrictions be eased after 50 days? Why then did the Prime Minister make false promises to the nation?”

Taking a dig at Narendra Modi, she said, “From a chaiwala the PM has become a fakir now”, fakir indeed in ideas, so much so that demonetisation has “moved the country back by 20 years”.

Referring to demonetisation as a “big scam”, she said that the country, however, “will see through it in the future”. She even hinted at a “hidden agenda” behind the scheme.

Stressing on the fact that an economy can never be totally cashless, a term the Central Government has been using left, right and centre over the last 47 days since demonetisation was announced, the Chief Minister of Bengal said, “Even the America economy is 40% dependent on cash”.

In fact, “in the name of cashless, the Narendra Modi Government has become baseless”, losing its locus standi as the conscience keeper of the nation, as a democratically-elected Central Government must be. As she rightly said, “The Government must lead the people, not instil fear in them”.

The Government has “unleashed its agencies on Opposition parties”. By thus trying to destroy State Governments led by Opposition parties, the Government is “destroying the federal structure of the country”, a system which is constitutionally mandated.

Mamata Banerjee also hit out on the selective help that the Centre has been providing to the States to cope with demonetisation, referring, as an example, to BJP-ruled Assam getting more financial benefits than many other equally or more deserving States, which are ruled by parties opposed to the BJP.

She referred to the currently desperate financial state of the country as “super-emergency”.

She also criticised the Central Government for neither laying a statement in Parliament during the recently-concluded Winter Session on demonetisation nor allowing the Opposition to discuss the issue, grievous offence given that Parliament is the “temple of democracy”.

She demanded accountability from the Government regarding demonetisation. She said, “We want a solution. A hundred and seven people have already died due to the crisis situation brought about by demonetisation. There will be starvation deaths next. Who is responsible?”

Continuing in the vein of accountability, she warned, “If you do not fulfil your promises then people will vote you out”.

She ended her comments by laying stress on the fact that the Opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress, will “continue the movement against demonetisation as long as possible”; they will not give up.

“Common people”, said Mamata Banerjee, “are not black marketeers. We will keep raising their issues”.

নোট বাতিলকে কেন্দ্র করে সারা দেশব্যাপী অর্থনৈতিক অরাজকতার বিরুদ্ধে দিল্লিতে বিরোধী দলগুলির বৈঠকের পর সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পদত্যাগ দাবি করলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

তিনি বলেন, ভবিষ্যতে দুর্নীতি ও নোট বাতিলের প্রতিবাদে বিরোধী দলগুলি একটি যৌথ কর্মসূচি তৈরি করবে কারন নোটবাতিলের ফলে দেশের অর্থনীতি ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে। শ্রমিক, কৃষক ব্যবসায়ী সহ সকল মানুষ চরম সংকটে।

এই অর্থনৈতিক অরাজকতার প্রসঙ্গে তিনি বলেন, “মোদী’জি বলেছিলেন ‘আচ্ছে দিন’ আনবেন। এই কি ‘আচ্ছে দিন’ এর নমুনা? মানুষ ব্যাঙ্কের ওপর থেকে আস্থা হারাচ্ছে। কেন্দ্র মানুষের টাকা লুঠ করে ব্যাংকের NPA মেটাতে চাইছে। ইতিমধ্যেই এই বিগত ৪৭ দিনে ২০ বছর পিছিয়ে গেছে দেশের অর্থনীতি। চা বাগানের শ্রমিকরা মজুরি পাচ্ছে না।”

তিনি এও বলেন, নোট বাতিল একটি বড় দুর্নীতি। এর পেছনে গোপন কর্মসূচি কি? কেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী দেশবাসীকে জানাচ্ছেন না এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার পেছনে আসল উদ্দেশ্য কি ছিল?

প্রধানমন্ত্রীর এই তুঘলকি নীতি কে কটাক্ষ করে তিনি বলেন, ক্যাশলেসের নামে মোদী এখন বেসলেস, ওনার নীতি ও দল সবই এখন ভিত্তিহীন হয়ে পড়েছে।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, যে সকল রাজনৈতিক দল এই তুঘলকি সিদ্ধান্তের প্রতিবাদ করছে, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার তাদের পেছনেই এজেন্সি লাগিয়ে দিচ্ছে। কেন্দ্র যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় পরিকাঠামোকে ধ্বংস করছে। সারা দেশে সুপার জরুরি অবস্থা চলছে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, সাধারণ মানুষ কালো বাজারি করে না। তাদের কোনও কালো টাকা নেই, কিন্তু, এই নোটবাতিলের ফলে তাদের চরম দুর্গতি ভোগ করতে হচ্ছে।

Trinamool Chairperson today came down heavily on the Narendra Modi government at Centre over the issue of demonetisation and said that a man who does not even trust his own countrymen, is not fit to lead the nation. She announced that Trinamool will launch statewide protests across 1 January and 8 January, 2017 with the slogan ‘Modi hatao, Desh bachao’.

Addressing the media after a meeting of the party’s core committee at Trinamool Bhavan, Mamata Banerjee said the Nadrendra Modi government has lost credibility and had no moral right to remain in office. “A person who started his career with riots, cannot govern the country,” she added.

Calling demonetisation the biggest scam since independence, Mamata Banerjee said it was a matter of concern that people were losing their trust on the banks. India is on the brink of an economic disaster, she added.

Upping the ante against the Centre, the Chairperson said, “They have modified their decision from dawn to dusk. Who is running the country? Alibaba and his four associates are bulldozing their opinion on the country.”

“We understood the dangerous effects of demonetisation and reacted in 40 minutes. Good others have joined. More will. Better late than never,” Mamata Banerjee said.

আজ আবারও নোট বাতিল ইস্যুতে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের প্রতি তীব্র ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন, এমন একজন মানুষ সরকার চালাচ্ছেন যে নিজের দেশের মানুষকেই বিশ্বাস করে না। তিনি ঘোষণা করেন যে আগামী ১ জানুয়ারি থেকে ৮ জানুয়ারি তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস রাজ্য জুড়ে নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ কর্মসূচীর আয়োজন করবে, স্লোগান হবে মোদি হাটাও দেশ বাঁচাও।

তৃণমূল ভবনে সাংবাদিক সম্মেলন করার সময় তিনি বলেন, মোদি সরকার মোদী সরকার ক্ষমতায় থাকার নৈতিক অধিকার হারিয়েছে। তাদের বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা শেষ হয়ে গেছে। তিনি আরও বলেন, “যিনি দাঙ্গার মাধ্যমে নিজের রাজনৈতিক জীবন শুরু করেছে তিনি দেশ চালাতে পারে না”।

স্বাধীনতার পর থেকে নোট বাতিল সবচেয়ে বড় কেলেঙ্কারি একথা জানিয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন “মানুষ ব্যাঙ্কের প্রতি বিশ্বাস হারাচ্ছে। এটা খুব চিন্তার বিষয়। অর্থনৈতিক বিপর্যয়ের মুখে দাঁড়িয়ে দেশ।সূর্যোদয় থেকে সূর্যাস্ত দিনরাত ওরা নিয়ম বদল করছে, দেশটা চালাচ্ছে কে? আলিবাবা ও তাঁর চার সাঙ্গপাঙ্গ জোর করে নিজেদের মতামত দেশের ওপর চাপিয়ে দিচ্ছে”।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, “নোট বাতিলের বিপজ্জনক প্রভাবের কথা বুঝতে পেরে আমরা শুরু থেকেই এর বিরোধিতা করছি।এখন আরও অনেকে বিরোধিতা শুরু করেছেন। বেটার লেট দ্যান নেভার”।

Intensifying her attack against the Narendra Modi government, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said the Centre’s demonetisation decision was the biggest scam and it must be thoroughly investigated.

“I want to know how big a deal was stuck over this decision. How many crores worth is the deal. Demonetisation is a big big scam,” she said while addressing a public meeting at Kolaghat in East Midnapore.

“The government at the Centre has turned everyone into a thief, while the Narendra Modi government and Amit Shah’s party are the biggest thieves,” she claimed. Throwing a “challenge” at Mr Modi, Ms Banerjee said if he had the power, he should arrest her. “I will say this not once but a thousand times that you have stolen money. You do not have to touch anybody. If you have the courage then send us to jail,” she said.

Mamata Banerjee said that the Modi-Shah duo has destroyed the country. “In this country either Modi or the people can live,” said the state chief minister. Claiming that the Modi government was functioning in an unconstitutional manner and trying to impose undeclared Emergency in the country, she said: “ They are trying to weaken a state government by targeting its bureaucrats. The BJP has amassed the maximum amount of money. Why no action has been taken against the party?”

At the Kolaghat rally, directly addressing Mr Modi she said she wanted an investigation against the prime minister, his government and his party. “The cat is out of the bag. We want to know what was the cause behind demonetisation?” she asked. Launching an all-out attack, Ms Banerjee warned Mr Modi that the people of India will not forgive them.

নোট বাতিলকে একটি বড় কেলেঙ্কারি এর বিরুদ্ধে পূর্নাঙ্গ তদন্ত হওয়া দরকার বলে এদিন  আবারও প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে তীব্র ভাষায় আক্রমণ করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

এদিন পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরে কোলাঘাটের জনসভা থেকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “আমি জানতে চাই এই সিদ্ধান্তের আগে কি ডিল হয়েছিল? কত কোটি টাকার লেনদেন হয়েছিল? নোট বাতিল একটা বড় কেলেঙ্কারি”।

তাঁর সরাসরি আক্রমণ, “‌অমিত শাহ আর বি জে পি চোর!‌ সব থেকে বড় চোর নরেন্দ্র মোদির সরকার!‌ একটা গুন্ডা আর একটা পান্ডা দেশকে জ্বালিয়ে–পুড়িয়ে তছনছ করে দিচ্ছে!‌ কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার সবাইকে চোর বানিয়ে নিজেরা সাধু সাজছে!‌”

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন মোদি-শাহ মিলে ধ্বংস করে দিচ্ছে দেশটাকে। তিবি বলেন, হয় মোদি থাকবে, নয় ভারত থাকবে।’‌ দুর্নীতি প্রসঙ্গে তিনি বলেন, “অজানা উৎস থেকে বিজেপি–‌র তহবিলে টাকা এসেছে সবচেয়ে বেশি। তাদের বিরুদ্ধে কেন ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হচ্ছে না?‌” অসাংবিধানিক কাজকর্ম করে দেশে জরুরি অবস্থা জারি করেছে মোদী সরকার। এখন রাজ্য সরকারের অফিসারদের টার্গেট করছে।

এদিন কোলাঘাটের সভা থেকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী প্রধানমন্ত্রীর উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, যে তিনি প্রধানমন্ত্রী, তাঁর দল ও তাঁর সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে তদন্ত চান। তিনি বলেন,“ঝুলি থেকে বেড়াল বেরিয়ে পড়েছে, আমরা জানতে চাই নোট বাতিলের পেছনে আসন কারণ কি ছিল?” মোদি সরকারকে সতর্ক করে এদিন তিনি বলেন ভারতবর্ষের মানুষ তাঁকে কোনদিন ক্ষমা করবে না।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today alleged that the Modi government was not allowing opposition parties to speak on the issue in Parliament, describing it as “most unfortunate”.

“This is most unfortunate. The opposition parties wanted to speak on demonetisation and run the House. Why did the government not allow the opposition to speak? This means the cat is out of the bag. The cashless have now become faceless,” she said in a tweet.

At a press conference on Thursday she had said that the note withdrawal had led to an “economic disaster” in the country and the Prime Minister had “no moral right” to continue.

“খুব দুর্ভাগ্যজনক। বিরোধীরা সংসদ চালাতেও চায় এবং নোটবাতিল নিয়ে আলোচনাও করতে চায়। কিন্তু, সরকার কেন বিরোধীদের কথা বলতে দিচ্ছে না? তার মানে ঝুলি থেকে বিড়াল বেরিয়ে পড়েছে। ক্যাশলেসদের আর কোথাও মুখ দেখানোর জায়গা নেই।” টুইট করে বলেন তিনি।

এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে বৃহস্পতিবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, সাড়া দেশ জুড়ে এই নোটবাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত ধীরে ধীরে “অর্থনৈতিক অরাজকতায়” পরিণত হয়েছে। সঙ্গে তিনি আরও বলেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর আর “নৈতিক ভাবে” ক্ষমতায় থাকার অধিকার নেই।

Criticing the governments move to demonetise old Rs 500/1,000 notes, Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra on Thursday said India could lose as much as Rs 4.7 lakh crore in its GDP.

The old high denomination notes were demonetised from November 9. Since then long queues are being witnessed at bank branches and outside ATMs for cash withdrawal.

“Just imagine for Rs 400 crore of supposedly fake money, according to the government itself, you kill or demonetise over Rs 14.5 lakh crore or may be Rs 15 lakh crore.

“I mean what kind of policy is this. Another serious question, we recently saw some new fake money, I am told according to reports. What does this mean. This is horrendous,” the West Bengal minister said.

Calling demonetisation “the biggest scam that is about to happen”, Dr Mitra said it will provide no gain, but only acute pain.

“If these figures (deposits of old notes in banks) are right because what it seems to me is if all the money comes back there was not enough black money… This has two serious implications. One, it could be that the government was purely ignorant because it does not consult anybody…or they have in effect facilitated some people from converting black into white, effectively ending up with no RBI surpluses,” he said.

Dr Mitra also slammed the Centre for trying to enforce cashless economy without preparing grounds for it. “Doesn’t the PM know 86% people have no means to go to cashless economy? 92% villages are unbanked as per RBI figures. There are 21000 unorganised mandis in the country, 383 lakh unorganised units in MSME, which obviously use cash. A major part of any big economy is in cash. To move them into cashless economy is a major task. This cannot be done by destabilising the economy,” he said.

The Bengal Finance Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers on GST, said, “The whole tax architecture will have to change, which is a huge challenge in the form of destabilisation. Can we not move GST a little bit on so that when the economy stabilises (and) people come back to normal living conditions, you bring in another disruption?”

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের হঠকারী নোটবাতিলের সিদ্ধান্তের সমালোচনা করে বাংলার অর্থমন্ত্রী আমিত মিত্র বৃহস্পতিবার বলেন, এই তুঘলকি সিদ্ধান্তের ফলে দেশের জিডিপির ক্ষতি হবে চার লক্ষ ৭০ হাজার কোটি টাকা।

৮ই নভেম্বর ৫০০ ও ১০০০ টাকার নোট বাতিল করার পর থেকে আজ অবধি প্রতি এটিএম ও বাঙ্কের বাইরে সুদীর্ঘ লাইন দেখা যাচ্ছে টাকা তোলার জন্য।

“ভেবে দেখুন, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার আনুমানিক ৪০০ কোটি টাকা নকল নোটের জন্য সাড়ে ১৪ বা ১৫ লক্ষ কোটি টাকা বাতিল করল। এটা কি ধরনের সিদ্ধান্ত?” তিনি আরও বলেন যে পরিস্থিতি খুবই ভয়াবহ।

অমিত মিত্র বলেন নোট বাতিল দেশের সব থেকে বড় কেলেঙ্কারি যার ফলে জনসাধারনের অপরিসীম কষ্ট ছাড়া আর কিছুই লাভ হল না।

“যে সংখ্যক পুরোনো নোট বাঙ্কে ফিরে এসেছে, সেই সংখ্যাটি যদি যথাযথ হয়, তার থেকে দুটি ব্যাপার বোঝা যায়। প্রথম, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের কাছে এই ব্যাপারে কোনও তথ্যই ছিল না, কারন, তারা কাওর সঙ্গে কোনও আলোচনাই করেননি। অথবা, তারা কিছু মানুষকে কালো টাকা সাদা করার সুযোগ করে দিল যে কারনে রিজার্ভ বাঙ্কের কাছে কোনও অধিক টাকা জমা পড়ে নি।”

আমিত মিত্র ক্যাশলেস ইকোনমির ব্যাপারেও কড়া সমালোচনা করে বলেন, কোনও প্রস্তুতি না নিয়েই সরকার ক্যাশলেস ইকোনমির ওপর জোর দিচ্ছেন। “প্রধানমন্ত্রী কি জানেন না যে ৮৬ শতাংশ মানুষের কাছে ক্যাশলেস ইকোনমির সামর্থ নেই। রিজার্ভ বাঙ্কের নথি অনুযায়ী ৯২ শতাংশ গ্রামে বাঙ্ক নেই। দেশে ২১০০০ অসংগঠিত মান্ডি আছে। ৩৮৩ লক্ষ অসংগঠিত ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠান আছে যারা পুরোপুরি ভাবে নগদ টাকায় লেনদেন করেন। এই দেশের সিংহভাগ ব্যাবসাই চলে নোটের ওপর। এই সমস্তকে ক্যাশলেস ইকোনমির দিকে নিয়ে যাওয়া একটি বিশাল কাজ, দেশের অর্থনীতির মেরুদণ্ড ভেঙে সেদিকে এগোনো যায়না,” আমিত মিত্র বলেন।

বাংলার অর্থমন্ত্রী, যিনি অর্থমন্ত্রীদের জিএসটি বিষয়ক এম্পাওয়ার্ড কমিটির চেয়ারম্যানও বটে, আরও বলেন, “জিএসটি লাগু করতে গেলে দেশের কর পরিকাঠামো নতুন করে সাজাতে হবে। নোট বাতিলের জন্য দেশের অর্থনীতি ইতিমধ্যেই সংকটে। তাই, আমরা কি কিছুদিন পরে জিএসটি লাগু করতে পারি না যখন দেশের অর্থনীতি স্বাভাবিক অবস্থায় ফিরে আসবে?”

The Centre has turned into a salesman trying to sell plastic cards, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday, minutes after Union Finance Minister held a press conference advocating digital transactions.

“The Govt is acting like a salesman. They have started selling products. They have started selling plastic cards… This is a desperate attempt to divert from the main issue. They are making more than a blunder a day,” she said in a series of tweets.

Sharpening her attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation, Mamata Banerjee said he must resign because the move has led to “economic disaster” in the country and he has “no moral right” to continue.

Alleging the country’s growth and business have been hit due to demonetisation, she said the Prime Minister “doesn’t trust” anyone and “doesn’t understand” what is good for the country.

“There is no teamwork. He did not consult experts. It is a one-man dictatorship. It is a one-man made disaster. It is a dangerous tendency,” she told reporters at Nabanna.

৫০০ ও ১০০০ টাকার নোট বাতিলের ৩০দিন পরও মানুষের ভোগান্তির কোনও শেষ নেই। জোগান নেই পর্যাপ্ত টাকার। এই অবস্থায় বৃহস্পতিবার কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থমন্ত্রী ডিজিটাল ট্রানজাকশানের কথা জানানোর পর নবান্নে সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হয়ে তিনি বলেন, কেন্দ্র এখন প্লাস্টিক কার্ডের বিক্রেতা হয়ে গেছে।

তিনি টুইট করে জানান, “সরকার সেলস ম্যানের মত আচরণ করছে। ওরা জিনিসপত্র বিক্রি করা শুরু করেছে। প্লাস্টিক কার্ড বিক্রি করছে। মূল বিষয় থেকে সরে যাওয়ার একটি মরিয়া প্রচেষ্টা। তাঁরা একদিনে একাধিক ভুল করছে”।

এদিন প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে কটাক্ষ করে তিনি বলেন, দেশের অর্থনীতি আজ অন্ধকারে। দেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রী থাকার নৈতিক অধিকার হারিয়েছেন মোদি।

দেশে অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা জারি হওয়ার পাশাপাশি গণতন্ত্রেও জরুরি অবস্থা চলছে বলে অভিযোগ মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর।

তিনি আরও বলেন, নোট বাতিলের এই হঠকারী তুঘলকি সিদ্ধান্তের ফলে দেশের ব্যবসা বাণিজ্য ও উৎপাদনের প্রচুর ক্ষতি হচ্ছে।  প্রধানমন্ত্রী কাউকে বিশ্বাস করেন না, নিজে যা ভালো মনে করেন তাই করেন। এমনকি কি করলে দেশের ভালো হবে তা বুঝতেও চান না।
