The initiative of the State Youth Services and Sports Department in making youths go through central online assessment after undergoing computer training is helping the trainees in a big way in getting jobs in the information technology (IT) and information technology-enabled services (ITeS) sectors.
There are more than 1,000 computer training centres under the Youth Services and Sports Department, where around 1.30 lakh job aspirants undergo different courses of computer training.
It was around one-and-a-half years ago when the department had decided to introduce the central online assessment. It helps trainees get a first-hand experience of appearing for an online examination and they are also provided with necessary training on how to appear for the examination during their course.
Since at present most work in almost all companies is online-based, such experiences make the job aspirants’ training industry-friendly and help them to get through interviews.
Besides creating an atmosphere for more investment in the IT and ITeS sectors in the state, the State Government has also given stress on creating necessary infrastructure to generate industry-friendly job aspirants. So, more such computer training centres were opened in the past six years, including some in Darjeeling district as well.

ক্রীড়া ও যুব কল্যাণ দপ্তরের সেন্ট্রাল অনলাইন অ্যাসেসমেন্ট ব্যবস্থার মাধ্যমে বাংলার কম্পিউটার ট্রেনিরা প্রভূত লাভবান হচ্ছেন। তথ্য প্রযুক্তি ক্ষেত্রে কাজ পেতে তাদের সাহায্য করছে এই ব্যবস্থা।
ক্রীড়া ও যুব কল্যাণ দপ্তরের অধীনে ১০০০ এর বেশী কম্পিউটার প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র আছে, যেখানে ১.৩০ লক্ষ কর্মপ্রার্থী কর্মসংস্থানের জন্য বিভিন্ন কোর্স করে থাকেন। দেড় বছর আগে ক্রীড়া ও যুব কল্যাণ দপ্তর সেন্ট্রাল অনলাইন অ্যাসেসমেন্ট ব্যবস্থা চালু করে। পড়ুয়াদের অনলাইন পরীক্ষা দেওয়ার প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়।
যেহেতু এখন প্রায় সব কোম্পানিতেই কাজ হয় অনলাইনে, এই ধরনের প্রশিক্ষণ চাকরিপ্রার্থীদের ইন্টার্ভিউ প্রক্রিয়ার জন্য তৈরী হতে সাহায্য করছে।
প্রসঙ্গত, এখন উইপ্রো, টিসিএস, ইনফোসিসের মত তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি কোম্পানিরা বাংলায় বিনিয়োগ করছে। তাই, যুবাদের প্রশিক্ষিত করার লক্ষ্যে জেলায় জেলায় কম্পিউটার প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র তৈরী করেছে সরকার।
