Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday paid a surprise visit to Ashutosh College in South Kolkata and warned of stern action against those who were indulging in irregularities during the admission process of colleges. She also interacted with the students and leaders of students’ union of the college.

On her way to Nabanna on Monday morning, Mamata Banerjee walked into the college where she spoke to students, their parents and officials at the online desk to take a stock of the ongoing admission process.

After the interaction, she said: “I have not received any complaint here. But we must keep in mind that students are our future. There are many meritorious students from financially weaker backgrounds and it is not a sin to be from a poor family. So students should not face any trouble in getting admission in colleges.”

She added: “It will not be tolerated if someone is asking for money for personal interest in the lieu of admission. The state government will take stern action against such irregularities.”

The Chief Minister also maintained: “I actively participated in students’ politics and this is the college (Ashutosh College) where I spent seven to eight years doing students’ politics. Our duty was to help students to get admission. So my appeal to all students’ unions and college authorities is to ensure that students get admission on the basis of merit to continue with their studies and money should not be the factor here.”

Dam repair: About 330 km of dams strengthened

Canal repair: Renovation of Keleghai-Kapaleswari-Bagai Canal going on at a cost of Rs 650 crore, to benefit about 4 lakh people in 14 blocks in Purba and Paschim Medinipur and Jhargram districts

Ghatal Master Plan: Flood control plan set up at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore to control floods in Panskura-1 and Panskura-2 blocks and Ghatal region in Paschim Medinipur, to benefit about 17 lakh people

Bridges: 2 bridges built over Chandika river in Ejmalich and Sridharpur in Moyna block; Dakshin Narikelda Bridge built over Pratapkhali Canal in Nandakumar block

Sabujshree: Saplings given to more than 38,000 newborns (as per the scheme, after crossing 18 years of age, the tree will be sold and the student’s education funded out of that money)

Tourism: Digha Gate built in a record 18 months at Rs 6.5 crore; Marine Drive in Digha; 9 more projects including watch towers in Digha, Sankarpur, Tajpur and MadarmaniBiswa Bangla Park in Digha, youth hostel in Digha renovated; seaside road till Nayakali, and Digha Mohana Road; lighting set up in Tajpur town and sea coast; Digha-Kolkata helicopter service started

পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার উন্নয়ন – এক নজরে

রাজ্য ও অন্যান্য জেলার সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নয়ন ঘটেছে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলায়।

স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণঃ

  • এই জেলার নন্দীগ্রাম, পাশকুঁড়া ও এগরায় গড়ে উঠেছে ৩টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল।
  • পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলা হাসপাতাল, কাঁথী, হলদিয়া ও দীঘা মহকুমা হাসপাতালে ৫টি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান চালু হয়ে গেছে। জেলার এই সকল ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান থেকে ওষুধ কেনার ফলে ৯ লক্ষ ৩১ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ ২০ কোটি ৯০ লক্ষ টাকারও বেশি ছাড় পেয়েছে। তমলুক জেলা হাসপাতালে ২টি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ডায়াগনস্টিক পরিষেবা চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • এই জেলায় ২০টি SNSU চালু হয়ে গেছে (দীঘা, হলদিয়া, মুগবেড়িয়া, গোনেরা, জানুবাসান, নন্দীগ্রাম, ময়না, বারারানকুয়া, রিয়াপাড়া, অনন্তপুর, বাসুলীয়া, সীন্নাবেড়িয়া, উত্তর মেছোগ্রাম, বাসন্তিয়া, ভগবানপুর, কামারদা, গঙ্গাধরপুর, খেজুরবেড়িয়া, এরাশাল ও পাইকপারি)।
  • তমলুক ও এগরা হাসপাতালে ২টি SNCU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • তমলুক, কাঁথী, হলদিয়া, নন্দীগ্রাম, এগরা ও দীঘা হাসপাতালে ৬টি CCU/HDU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • কাঁথী মহকুমা হাসপাতালকে ২০০ থেকে ৩০০ শয্যায় সম্প্রসারিত করা হচ্ছে।
  • ‘স্বাস্থ্যসাথী’ প্রকল্পে এই জেলায় প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৯৩ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন।
  • ‘শিশুসাথী’ প্রকল্পে, এই জেলার ৫২৩টিরও/ হাজারেরও বেশি বাচ্চার সফল অস্ত্রোপচার করা হয়েছে।

 

শিক্ষাঃ

  • এই জেলার, তমলুক শহীদ মাতঙ্গিনী হাজরা মহিলা কলেজ, স্বর্ণময়ী জোগেন্দ্রনাথ কলেজ এবং শ্যামসুন্দরপুরে ৩টি নতুন সরকারী কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।
  • দেশপ্রাণ (কাঁথী-২), নন্দীগ্রাম ও এগরায় ৩টি নতুন আই টি আই কলেজ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।
  • কোলাঘাটে একটি নতুন পলিটেকনিক কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • ‘উৎকর্ষ বাংলা’ কর্মসূচিতে জেলার ৮২ হাজারেরও বেশি যুবক-যুবতীকে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায়, ৩ লক্ষ ২৮ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র ছাত্রীকে ‘সবুজসাথী’ প্রকল্পে সাইকেল প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায়, গত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, প্রায় ১৭০টি মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়কে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় স্তরে উন্নীত করা হয়েছে।
  • সব স্কুল মিড-ডে-মিল চলছে, যার ফলে পুষ্টি এবং উপস্থিতির হার বেড়েছে এবং স্কুল-ছুট ছাত্র-ছাত্রীর সংখ্যা কমেছে।
  • প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে ছেলে ও মেয়েদের জন্য পৃথক শৌচাগার নির্মিত হয়েছে।

 

ভূমি সংস্কার, কৃষি ও পশুপালনঃ

  • জেলার ৯ হাজারেরও বেশি যোগ্য ভূমিহীন পরিবারের হাতে ‘নিজ গৃহ নিজ ভূমি’ প্রকল্পে পাট্টা তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে। এছাড়া ৪ হাজারেরও বেশি কৃষি ও বনাধিকার পাট্টা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলার, প্রায় ৯৫% কৃষক পরিবারকে কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ডের আওতাভুক্ত করা হয়েছে। বাকিদেরও খুব দ্রুত কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড প্রদান করা হচ্ছে।
  • এই জেলার পাঁশকুড়া-১, ভগবানপুর-২, পটাশপুর-১, দেশপ্রাণ (কাঁথী-২), এগরা-১ ও নন্দীগ্রামে ৬টি ‘কিষাণ মান্ডি’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রাণী সম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তর, ২৪ লক্ষ ৫৮ হাজারেরও বেশি হাঁস ও মুরগীড় বাচ্চা বিতরণ করেছে।

 

পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়নঃ

  • এই জেলায় ১০০-দিনের কাজে, ২২২০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যয় করে প্রায় ৯ কোটি ৪ লক্ষ শ্রম দিবস সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।
  • জেলার প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৪১ হাজার মানুষ গ্রামীণ আবাস যোজনায় উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • এই জেলার আরও প্রায় ২৬ হাজার ৭৬৫ জন উপভোক্তাকে বাড়ি তৈরির সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় গ্রামীণ সড়ক যোজনায় প্রায় ৭০০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মিত হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় আরও প্রায় ৩৯৫ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মাণ/সংস্কারের সূচনা করা হয়েছে।
  • ‘সমব্যাথী’ প্রকল্পে জেলার প্রায় ৪ হাজার ২৬৭ জন উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর ‘নির্মল জেলা’। জেলায় ‘মিশন নির্মল বাংলা’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় ২ লক্ষ ১৬ হাজার শৌচালয় নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে – যা লক্ষ্যমাত্রার ১০০%।

 

সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়নঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলার প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ ১২ হাজার সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্রছাত্রীকে প্রায় ১০০ কোটি টাকা স্কলারশিপ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া, স্বনির্ভরতার জন্য সংখ্যালঘু যুবক-যুবতীদের, প্রায় ৩২ কোটি টাকা ঋণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • MSDP তে প্রায় ৬ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের উন্নয়নে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প রূপায়িত করা হয়েছে।
  • এই প্রকল্পে, জেলায় ৩০টির ও বেশি হেলথ সাব সেন্টার, অতিরিক্ত শ্রেণী কক্ষ।অঙ্গনওয়াড়ী কেন্দ্র, বাসগৃহ ইত্যাদি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে
  • এই জেলার এগরা-২, পাঁশকুড়া-১, পাঁশকুড়া-২, পটাশপুর-২(২টি), সুতাহাটা-১, রামনগর-১ (২টি), কাঁথী-৩, নন্দীগ্রাম-১, খেজুরী-২, শহীদ মাতঙ্গিনী, তমলুক ও ময়নায় ১৪টি ‘কর্মতীর্থ’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

অনগ্রসর কল্যাণ ও আদিবাসী উন্নয়নঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ১ লক্ষ ৪০ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ‘শিক্ষাশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে সহায়তা পেয়েছে।
  • জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ২ লক্ষ ১৬ হাজারেরও বেশি SC/ST/OBC Certificate প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

নারী ও শিশু উন্নয়ন এবং সমাজকল্যাণঃ

  • এই জেলায়, ২ লক্ষ ৮৪ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্রী ‘কন্যাশ্রী’র আওতায় এসেছে।

 

খাদ্য সুরক্ষা কর্মসূচী – ‘খাদ্য সাথী’ প্রকল্পঃ

  • এই জেলার ১০০% যোগ্য মানুষকে (প্রায় ৫১ লক্ষ ৭১ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষকে), ২/- টাকা কেজি দরে (অথবা বাজার দরের অর্ধেক দামে) খাদ্যশস্য দেওয়া হচ্ছে – যা জেলার মোট জনসংখ্যা প্রায় ১০০%।

 

শিল্পঃ

  • হলদিয়ায় ১টি ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক তৈরি করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় ক্ষুদ্র, ছোট ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগের ২৭টি ক্লাস্টার গড়ে উঠেছে।
  • কাঁথীতে একটি কাজু বাদামের ক্লাস্টার, তমলুক, হলদিয়া, মেছেদা, পাঁশকুড়া, কাঁথী, ময়না, এগরায় ও দাইসাইয়ে ৮টি স্টিলের আসবাব তৈরির ক্লাস্টার, বাঁসুলীয়ায় একটি জামাকাপড় তৈরির ক্লাস্টার প্রভৃতি।
  • শিল্প ও পর্যটনের বিকাশে গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে দীঘায় একটি কনভেনশন সেন্টার।
  • হলদিয়ায় গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে আইটি হাব ও ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল এস্টেট।
  • ক্ষুদ্র শিল্পের ক্ষেত্রে এই জেলায় ৬৯৭ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যাঙ্ক ঋণ প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পূর্ত ও পরিবহনঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলায় পূর্ত দপ্তর ১১০টিরও বেশি রাস্তাঘাট, ব্রিজ ইত্যাদি রুপায়নের কাজ হাতে নিয়েছে, যার মধ্যে ৮৫টিরও বেশি প্রকল্পের কাজ ৫৭০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় ইতিমধ্যেই সমাপ্ত হয়েছে/ এর ফলে প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হচ্ছেন। বাকি প্রকল্পের কাজ খুব শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।
  • জেলার সড়ক ব্যবস্থা উন্নয়নে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে। জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে প্রায় ৬৫০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মাণ/পুনর্নির্মাণ/সম্প্রসারণ ও উন্নীতকরণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হলঃ পাঁশকুড়া-দুর্গাচক রাস্তা,দক্ষিণ শিতলা দাদনপাত্রবার-মান্দারমনি রাস্তা প্রভৃতি।
  • ‘বৈতরিনী’ প্রকল্পে ৩৩টি শ্মশান ঘাটের উন্নয়ন সহ ১টি বিদ্যুতের চুরি বসানোর কাজ চলছে।
  • এই জেলার প্রায় ২৭০ জন যুবক-যুবতী গাড়ি কেনার ঋণ পেয়ে আত্মনির্ভর হয়েছেন।
    হাতে নেওয়া হয়েছে Safe Drive Save Life এবং Slow Drive Save Life কর্মসূচী। ফলে, উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে কমেছে দুর্ঘটনা এবং হতাহতের সংখ্যা।

 

বিদ্যুৎ ও অচিরাচরিত শক্তিঃ

  • সমগ্র জেলায় ‘সবার ঘরে আলো’ প্রকল্পে, ১০০% গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • হলদিয়ায় Indian Power Corporation (Haldia) LIMITED-এর একটি নতুন ৩ ১৫০ মেগা ওয়াট তাপবিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

সেচঃ

  • জেলায় প্রায় ৩৩০ কিমি দৈর্ঘ্যের বাঁধ সংরক্ষণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • প্রায় ৬৫০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে কেলেঘাই-কপালেশ্বরী-বাগাই খাল সংস্কারের কাজ চলছে।
  • এই প্রকল্পে, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর ও ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলার ১৪টি ব্লকের প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ মানুষ উপকৃত হবেন।
  • পাঁশকুড়া-১ ও পাঁশকুড়া-২ ব্লক সহ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার ঘাটাল এলাকার বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণের জন্য প্রায় ২ হাজার কোটি টাকার ‘ঘাটাল মাস্টার প্ল্যান’ তৈরি হয়েছে। এটি রূপায়িত হলে এই বিস্তীর্ণ অঞ্চলের প্রায় ১৭ লক্ষ মানুষ প্রতি বছর বন্যার সমস্যা থেকে মুক্তি পাবেন।
  • ময়না ব্লকের চণ্ডিকা নদীর উপরে এজমালিচক ও শ্রীরামপুরে ২টি সেতু নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।
  • রসুলপুর ও বোগায় রসুলপুর নদীর ওপর ২টি নতুন জেটি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরীঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ৭০টি জল প্রকল্পের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে, এর মধ্যে প্রায় ২৪০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ৫৫টির কাজ সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। এর ফলে জেলার প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হচ্ছেন।বাকি জল প্রকল্পগুলির কাজ খুব শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।

 

বন ও পর্যটনঃ

  • ‘সবুজশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে, ৩৮ হাজারেরও বেশি সদ্যোজাত শিশুকে মূল্যবান গাছের চারা দেওয়া হয়েছে। ১৮ বছর উত্তীর্ণ হলে, গাছ বিক্রির টাকায় শিশুটির পড়াশোনা, বিয়ে ইত্যাদির খরচ মেটানো যাবে।
  • মাত্র ১৮ মাসের রেকর্ড সময়ে ‘দীঘা গেট’ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে সাড়ে ৬ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে।
  • দীঘায় মেরিন ড্রাইভ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া দিঘা, শঙ্করপুর, তাজপুর, মন্দারমনিতে ওয়াচ টাওয়ার, দীঘায় বিশ্ব বাংলা উদ্যান , দীঘা যুব আবাসের সংস্কার, নয়াকালীন মন্দির পর্যন্ত সমুদ্র তীরবর্তী রাস্তা, দীঘা-মোহনা রাস্তা সহ মোট ৯টি প্রকল্পের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে।
  • দীঘায় বিশ্ব বাংলা উদ্যান সম্পূর্ণ করা হয়েছে।
  • তাজপুর শহর ও সৈকতের আলোকায়ন করা হয়েছে।
  • দীঘা-কলকাতা হেলিকপ্টার পরিষেবা সূচনা হয়েছে।

 

শ্রমঃ

  • এই জেলায় সামাজিক সুরক্ষা যোজনায় প্রায় ৯ লক্ষ ৮৬ হাজার অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিক নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন। এখনো পর্যন্ত প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ২৫ হাজার উপভোক্তা, ৫৭ কোটি টাকার ও বেশি সহায়তা পেয়েছেন।
  • যুবশ্রী প্রকল্পে, এই জেলায় প্রায় ৫ হাজার যুবক-যুবতী উতসাহ ভাতা পাচ্ছেন।

 

স্ব-নির্ভর দল ও স্বনিযুক্তি কর্মসূচীঃ

  • ‘আনন্দধারা’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় ৩৮ হাজার স্ব-নির্ভর দল গঠিত হয়েছে।
  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ‘স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ স্ব-নির্ভর কর্মসূচী’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় সাড়ে ১১ হাজার উদ্যোগকে অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং প্রায় ৮৫ কোটি টাকা অনুদান প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পুর ও নগরোন্নয়নঃ

  • জেলায় ৩টি মিউনিসিপ্যালিটি, ১৩০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি পরিকল্পনা খাতে ব্যয় করেছে।
  • শহরাঞ্চলে গরীবদের জন্য বাসস্থান প্রকল্পে, প্রায় ৫ হাজার ৬০০ জন মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।

 

তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতিঃ

  • এই জেলায় ২৩ হাজারেরও বেশি লোকশিল্পী, ‘লোকপ্রসার প্রকল্পে’ রিটেনার ফি ও পেনশন পাচ্ছেন।

 

আবাসনঃ

  • জেলায় আর্থিকভাবে দুর্বল মানুষদের জন্যে গীতাঞ্জলী ও অন্যান্য প্রকল্পে প্রায় ১৯ হাজার মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • ভ্রমনার্থীদের সুবিধা এবং স্থানীয় মানুষের কর্মসংস্থানের জন্য নন্দকুমার ও মেছেদায় ২টি ‘পথসাথী’ মোটেল গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

ক্রীড়া ও যুবকল্যাণঃ

  • ক্রীড়ার মান উন্নয়নে জেলায় ৯৫৫টিরও বেশি ক্লাবকে ৩২ কোটি টাকারও বেশি অর্থ সাহায্য করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রায় ৩০০টি মাল্টি জিম ও ৬০টি মিনি ইনডোর স্টেডিয়াম, প্রায় ১৮ কোটি ৫৩ লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • নন্দকুমারে একটি যুব আবাস গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।

 

আইন-শৃঙ্খলাঃ

  • এই জেলায় স্থাপন করা হয়েছে নতুন মন্দারমণি, জুনপুট ও নয়াচর উপকূলীয় থানা এবং কাঁথী ও হলদিয়া মহিলা থানা।

The state Technical Education department has taken up a major step in upgrading the ITIs. The project has been taken up with support from the World Bank.

A good number of ITIs are being selected for upgradation and the work has already started. It is learnt that in the first phase around 28 ITIs will be upgraded.

The upgradation of the ITIs includes setting up of smart class rooms along with high-speed internet connection which will ensure knowledge sharing through video conferencing.

It may be mentioned that in 2011 there were only 80 ITIs in the state where only 17,636 students used to get opportunity to undertake training every year. After the change of guard in the state, the Mamata Banerjee government has set up a total of 235 ITIs where 66,740 students can undertake different training courses.

Similarly, total number of polytechnic colleges has also increased. There were only 65 polytechnic colleges in the state in 2011 and now it has increased to 147 where 37,315 students can get admission in a year. Moreover, there are 289 advanced vocational training centres now in the state.

বিশ্ব ব্যাঙ্কের সহায়তায় বেশ কয়েকটি আইটিআইয়ের পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়ন করবে রাজ্য কারিগরি শিক্ষা দপ্তর। প্রথম দফায় ২৮টি আইটিআইয়ের উন্নয়ন করা হবে।

এই পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের মধ্যে রয়েছে স্মার্ট ক্লাসরুম তৈরী ও হাই স্পীড ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবার স্থাপন। এর মাধ্যমে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমেও পঠনপাঠন করতে পারবে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা।

প্রসঙ্গত ২০১১ সাল পর্যন্ত সারা রাজ্যে মাত্র ৮০টি আইটিআই ছিল, যেখানে মাত্র ১৭,৬৩৬ জন ছাত্রছাত্রী প্রতি বছর প্রশিক্ষণ নেওয়ার সুযোগ পেতেন। কিন্তু মাত্র ছ’বছরে রাজ্যে আইটিআইয়ের সংখ্যা বেড়ে হয়েছে ২৩৫টি, যেখানে ৬৬,৭৪০জন ছাত্রছাত্রী প্রশিক্ষণ নিতে পারেন বিভিন্ন কোর্সে।

২০১১ পর্যন্ত মাত্র ৬৫টি পলিটেকনিক কলেজ ছিল রাজ্যে, যা বেড়ে হয়েছে ১৪৭। ৩৭,৩১৫জন ছাত্র প্রতি বছর এখানে পড়ার সুযোগ পায়। এছাড়া এই মুহূর্তে রাজ্যে ২৮৯টি পেশামূলক শিক্ষা কেন্দ্র আছে; রাজ্য সরকার এইরকম কেন্দ্র ব্লকে ব্লকে গড়তে চায়।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a meeting with the heads of private schools, colleges and other educational institutions and discussed fee disparity with their representatives.

The Bengal Government has taken a stand to see that poor and meritorious students get opportunity to study in the institutions of their choice.

Recently the Bengal Government mooted on the three-language forumla and have suggested that Bengali should be one of the three languages in school curriculum.

আজ বেসরকারী স্কুল, কলেজগুলির সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

বেসরকারী স্কুল, কলেজ ও অন্যান্য শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলির কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বৈঠকে ভর্তির ফি সহ অন্যান্য বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়।

দরিদ্র ও মেধাবী ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জন্য ইতিমধ্যেই রাজ্য সরকার বিভিন্ন রকম পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে। এবার বেসরকারী কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলিতেও যেন তাদের জন্য আসন সংরক্ষিত থাকে সেই আবেদন করে রাজ্য সরকার।

সম্প্রতি বাংলা সরকার ত্রিভাষা নীতি চালু করেছে এবং সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে সব স্কুলের পাঠ্যক্রমে এই তিনটি ভাষার মধ্যে বাংলা ভাষাকে বাধ্যতামূলক করতে হবে।

To make the students in the State more tech-friendly, the West Bengal Higher Education department has decided to launch free WiFi service in all government colleges in the State.

In the first phase, the service would be launched in 60 government colleges, the Education Minister, Partha Chatterjee said.

The government has already allotted funds worth Rs 25 crore to the University of Calcutta for developing the required infrastructure. After Sabuj Sathi cycles, Kanyashree scholarship, free shoes in primary schools, the free WiFi service in colleges is another feather in Bengal’s cap.

Admission procedure in colleges across the State are carried out online now.

 

সব কলেজে বিনামূল্যে ওয়াইফাই পরিষেবা দেবে রাজ্য

উচ্চশিক্ষার ছাত্রছাত্রীদের তথ্যপ্রযুক্তিমুখী করার পাশাপাশি বিনামূল্যে ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবা দেওয়ার জন্য সমস্ত সরকারী কলেজে ফ্রি ওয়াইফাই পরিষেবা চালু করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল রাজ্যত সরকার।

শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় জানান, “প্রথমে ৬০টি কলেজে এই পরিষেবা দেওয়া হবে।

ইতিমধ্যেই কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে সরকারের তরফে এই পরিকাঠামো তৈরির জন্য ২৫ কোটি টাকা মঞ্জুর করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। সবুজ সাথী সাইকেল, কন্যাশ্রী স্কলারশিপ, প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে বিনামূল্যে জুতা প্রদানের পর কলেজে বিনামূল্যে ওয়াইফাই পরিষেবা অর্থাৎ বাংলার মুকুটে যুক্ত হল আরও একটি পালক।

সারা রাজ্যের সব কলেজে বর্তমানে অনলাইনে ভর্তির পরিষেবা চালু হয়ে গেছে।

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated the Government General Degree College at Alipore and the P R Thakur Government College at Thakur Nagar in Gaighata, North 24 Parganas at Hastings House in Alipore.

The West Bengal Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed building of the State Health Transport Organisation (SHTO), the Swasthya Paribahan Bhavan and lay the foundation stone for Soujanya, the new West Bengal Government Guest House, from the same venue.

Education is a key focus area of the present Government under Trinamool Congress.The present Government had set up 31 new colleges in 3 years. There were only 34 colleges in Bengal till 2011.It has set up eight new universities in 3 years, while the past Government had instituted only three universities in 34 years.

In her modest address, the West Bengal Chief Minister inaugurated the Government General Degree College for Girls and named the college after Sister Nivedita. Bengal has been the seat of women’s emancipation with Vidyasagar and Rammohan Roy, the Chief Minister said. She said that education and culture go hand in hand and that develops a beautiful societyand there is no alternative to education.

The Chief Minister said that the Government is setting up ‘Soujanya’ to host diplomatic meeting of national and international importance and the work for it is already progressing. She also inaugurated the new building for the State Health Transport Organisation from the same venue.

The Chief Minister said that the present Government has created infrastructure for many new educational institutions. She said that Bengal will become an educational hub as various international universities are tying up with educational institutes of Bengal. She informed that a women’s university has come up at Diamond Harbour new universities in Bankura, Coochbehar, Asansol has been started. The Nazrul University in Asansol to collaborate with Dhaka for Kazi Nazrul research, she informed. A chair in the name of Bangabandhu Sk Mujibur Rahman at Calcutta University, she informed.

The Chief Minister said that she will showcase Bengal as a educational destination during the forthcoming London trip.

During the first three years of the Trinamool Government, the spending by all departments has been 50 to 80% higher that the spending during the last three years of the Left Front Government.

This stupendous performance for three consecutive years was never achieved by the Left Front Government.  The reason for this performance can be easily gauged by examining the money spent by the Trinamool Government during the last four financial years.

Higher plan expenditure

The plan expenditure during the last year of the Left Front Government, that is, 2010-11, was Rs 11,838 crore. The plan expenditure for 2015-16 has been pegged at Rs 49,507 crore, an increase of 4.18 times. The same for 2014-15 was 3.6 times more. Hence, it is obvious that the Trinamool Government is spending much more on various projects, and the results are there for all to see.

The highest amount to be spent during 2015-16, as per the plan expenditure numbers, would be in the education sector – 18.71% of the total expenditure. For panchayat and rural development, the spend has been pegged at 17.31% of the Budget.

 

Budget: Four-five times that of the Left Front

  • For 2015-16, the expenditure in school, higher education and vocational education has been kept at Rs 9270,97,00,000. The amount spent under the same head during the last year of the Left Front Government (2010-11) was Rs 1885,54,00,000. Thus there is an increase of 4.92 times
  • During 2014-15, the amount was Rs 7143,27,00,000, which is 3.8 times that of 2010-11
  • Since the spending has been four to five times more, consequently, it can be conveniently assumed that the development in the relevant sector has also been four to five times more

 

Education: Achievements

The comparative quantitative achievements of the Trinamool Government and the Left Front Government in the education sector

  • Universities: 13, from 1947-2011, and 13, from 2010-11 to January 2014) (6 state-aided and 7, private)
  • ITI colleges: 80, from 1947-2011, and 43, from 2010-11 to January 2014) (92 more planned during 2015-16)
  • Polytechnic colleges: 62, from 1947-2011, and 34, from 2010-11 to January 2014) (32 more planned during 2015-16)
  • Government colleges: 36, from 1947-2011, and 40, from 2010-11 to January 2014
  • Health Districts and district hospitals: This is also a concept introduced by the Trinamool Government – 8 of each
  • Higher primary schools:  497, from 1947-2011, and 3008, from 2010-11 to January 2014
  • Primary schools: 184, from 1947-2011, and more than 400, from 2010-11 to January 2014
  • Model English schools: None earlier; 12, from 2010-11 to January 2014) (22 more planned during 2015-16)

The Higher Education Department of the West Bengal Government has launched a toll free helpline for students who are seeking admission to undergraduate-level courses in various colleges in the State.

Students can call the number 1800-1037-033 between 9 AM and 6 PM from Monday to Saturday. The toll free helpline was launched on 1 June, 2015 and will be active till 30 September, 2015.

Incidentally, from this year, admission procedure for colleges in Bengal has been made online.

Trinamool Congress Chairperson Ms Mamata Banerjee today addressed the young party activists belonging to Trinamool Chhatra Parishad at a workshop held at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata.

The Chairperson asked students not to be depressed or upset and follow the 3 D’s for success: Dedication, Devotion, Determination. She said the huge turnout for the workshop today was an inspiration for her.

Class Representatives (CR) owing allegiance to Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad in different colleges across the State took part in this programme to take guidance from the senior leadership of the party.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson was immersed in nostalgia. “I feel proud to say my initiation in politics was with student activism. Our political career started from grassroots,” she said. She urged students to work for the people and always be by their side.

Criticising a section of the media for hyping small incidents, she said people have not forgotten the horrors of CPM rule in Netai, Khejuri, Nandigram or Keshpur. “We have to defeat CPM-BJP-Congress in the Assembly Elections,” she told the TMCP activists.

She made it clear their ideology was supreme in Trinamool. “We withdrew support to the Centre when their policies became anti-people,” she added. She also said that a database of TMCP activists in Bengal would be built.

Speaking of the development in Bengal in the last four years, the Chairperson said her government had set up 13 colleges in the last four years while Left Front set up only two in 34 years. “There were 31 colleges in Bengal till 2011. In four years we have set up 45 new colleges. There were only 1300 medical seats in Bengal till 2011. We have taken the number up to 2700 in just four years,” she added.

She also highlighted the success of Kanyashree while promising that 40 lakh girl students would receive cycles in the coming months. She also took pride in the fact that treatment for cancer, cardiac ailments and Thalassemia is free in the State.
