Thirty Chinese companies would participate in the upcoming Bengal Global Business Summmit (BGBS) to be held in the metropolis later this month.

Consul general of China in Kolkata Ma Zhanwu said that out of the 30, ten of them would be participating for the first time in the business summit to be held here on January 16 and 17. The remaining 20 already have ongoing projects in India, he said briefing reporters here today.

He said that China was looking to build strong trade and business ties with the eastern region, particularly West Bengal. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar (BCIM) corridor would help in supporting this effort.

China had been importing Darjeeling tea, jute, seafood, handicraft and garments from West Bengal.

বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে অংশ নেবে ৩০টি চৈনিক কোম্পানি

কলকাতায় অনুষ্ঠিত হতে চলা ৪র্থ বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে ৩০টি চৈনিক কোম্পানি অংশগ্রহন করবে। সম্মেলনটি হবে বিশ্ব বাংলা কনভেনশন সেন্টারে ১৬ ও ১৭ই জানুয়ারিতে।

কলকাতার চৈনিক কন্স্যুল জেনারেল সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, এই ৩০টি কম্পানির মধ্যে ১০টি কোম্পানি এই প্রথমবার এই সম্মেলনে অংশ নেবে। বাকি ২০টি কোম্পানি ইতিমধ্যেই ভারতে তাদের প্রকল্প গড়ে তুলছে।

তিনি বলেন, চিন পূর্ব ভারতের, বিশেষত বাংলার, সঙ্গে দীর্ঘমেয়াদী বাণিজ্যিক সম্পর্ক গড়তে আগ্রহী। বেল্ট অ্যান্ড রোড ইনিশিয়েটিভ এবং বাংলাদেশ, চিন, ভারত ও মায়ানমার করিডোর এই উদ্যোগে সাহায্য করবে।

প্রসঙ্গত, চিন দার্জিলিং চা, পাট, সি-ফুড ও জামা কাপড় আমদানি করছে রাজ্য থেকে।

Various departments of the Bengal Government are participating in a major way in the World Food India Festival, to be held in New Delhi from November 3 to 5.

Not just other states, but 121 countries, including France, Germany, Britain, USA, China, Japan, Poland, Switzerland and others are participating. Naturally, the festival presents a big opportunity for the state to showcase its best food products to the whole world.

On November 4, representatives of different departments of the State Government are also planning to meet potential foreign investors, as part of the food festival.

The departments of the State Government taking part are Agriculture, Agriculture Marketing, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Panchayat and Rural Development. They would be displaying and selling the best of the best from Bengal.

In recent years, the state’s fish, vegetables and fruits have gained a name for themselves in terms of quality in not only the country, but internationally too. Hence, the State Government plans to use the festival as a platform to display its best products to gain access to more national and international markets.

The Fisheries Department would showcase hilsa, tangra, parshe, koi, changes, bhetki, panga, bagda and apple snail, and also varieties of shutki (sun-dried fish),. Processed products like prawn pickle and fish sweet and sour pickle would also be displayed.

The Animal Husbandry Department would display meat products made from black Bengal goat (which is especially popular), koel, turkey, duck, pork and lamb. Basically, the products sold by Haringhata Farm would be sold. The department is also planning to popularise the work being done by the three bull centres set up for artificial insemination in Beldanga, Haringhata and Salboni.

The Food Processing Department is taking along mango and litchi from Malda and Murshidabad districts, pineapple jam from Siliguri, jelly, pickles and other items.

The Panchayat and Rural Development Department would display products made by the various self-help groups (SHG) which are aided through the Anandadhara Scheme, which is administered by the department. The products are goyna bori from Tamluk, morabba from Suri, biuli dal, black moong dal, papad, etc.

গেঁড়ি -গুগলি থেকে শুঁটকি মাছ , সিউড়ির মোরব্বা থেকে তমলুকের গয়না বড়ি — বাংলার এই খাবারের সম্ভারকে তুলে ধরতে চাইছে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সরকার৷ ৩ থেকে ৫ নভেম্বর দিল্লিতে আয়োজিত হতে চলেছে ওয়ার্ল্ড ফুড ইন্ডিয়া ফেস্টিভ্যাল৷

এই খাদ্য উত্সবে থাকছে রাজ্যের এই খাদ্যসম্ভার৷ ফ্রান্স , জার্মানি , ব্রিটেন , আমেরিকা , চিন , জাপান , পোল্যান্ড , সুইজারল্যান্ডের মতো বিশ্বের ১২১টি দেশ অংশ নেবে ওই খাদ্য উৎসবে৷ রাজ্যের কৃষি , কৃষি বিপণন , মত্স্য , প্রাণিসম্পদ উন্নয়ন ছাড়াও দিল্লির ওই উৎসবে অংশ নেবে রাজ্যের পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন দপ্তরও৷

বিশ্বের দরবারে বাংলার কোন কোন খাবার তুলে ধরতে চাইছে বাংলা? মৎস্য দপ্তর সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে ইলিশ, ট্যাংরা, পার্শে, কই, চ্যাঙস, ভেটকি, কোবিয়া, প্যাঙাস, বাগদার মত মাছ নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে৷ সঙ্গে গেঁড়ি, গুগলি থেকে শুঁটকি মাছের প্রক্রিয়াকরণের ভালো সম্ভাবনা থাকায় তাও তুলে ধরা হবে খাদ্য উৎসবে৷ প্রন পিকল থেকে ফিস সুইট অ্যান্ড সাওয়ার পিকল থাকবে সেখানে৷

মাংস হিসাবে দারুণ জনপ্রিয় ব্ল্যাক বেঙ্গল গোট৷ রাজ্যের প্রাণিসম্পদ দপ্তর সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, ব্ল্যাক বেঙ্গল গোট ছাড়াও কোয়েল, টার্কি, হাঁস, পর্ক, ল্যাম্বেরও প্রক্রিয়াকৃত নানা পদ থাকবে৷ মূলত হরিণঘাটা ফার্মের সমস্ত আইটেমগুলিই নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে প্রদর্শনীতে৷ এ ছাড়াও বেলডাঙা , হরিণঘাটা এবং শালবনীতে আর্টিফিসিয়াল ইনসেমিনেশনের জন্য যে তিনটি বুল সেন্টার রয়েছে , তার প্রচারও করা হবে সেখানে৷

কৃষি বিপণন দপ্তর উদ্যোগ নিচ্ছে সীতাশাল, কালোনুনিয়া, গোবিন্দভোগ, তুলাইপাঞ্জির মতো ৪০ ধরনের চাল, বেশ কয়েক ধরনের ডাল নিয়ে যাওয়ার৷ রাজ্যের খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ দন্তরের উদ্যোগে মালদহ, মুর্শিদাবাদের আম, লিচু, শিলিগুড়ির আনারসের জ্যাম, জেলি, আচারের মতো নানা আইটেম থাকবে সেখানে৷

রাজ্যের পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন দপ্তরের তত্ত্বাবধানেই পরিচালিত হচ্ছে আনন্দধারা প্রকল্পটি৷ তাদের উদ্যোগেই এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় গড়ে তোলা বিভিন্ন স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর তৈরি তমলুকের গয়না বড়ি, সিউড়ির মোরব্বা, বিউলি, কালো মুগ ডালের পাঁপড়ের মতো নানা সামগ্রী নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে খাদ্য উত্সবে৷

The state government is going to set up a Biswa Bangla outlet at Kunming Changshui International Airport in China this July. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard was signed recently in the state administrative headquarters at Nabanna.

A Chinese delegation had attended the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) held in January and expressed its willingness to invest in Bengal. After BGBS, a Chinese had come to the city and held talks with businessmen and senior officials of the Industry department. Senior state government officials felt that opening of the stall would start a new chapter and would showcase some of the typical products from Bengal.

It may be recalled that after coming to power in 2011, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took special measures to revive the nearly-forgotten products like Muslim and sital pati along with utensils made of bell-metal. The mask industry of Purulia and South Dinajpur also witnessed a revival. The artisans were looked after. The weavers who produced Muslins for generations were not only taken care of but also given elaborate training by reputed fashion designers.

Now, along with Muslin sarees, kurtas, pyjamas, tops for women, pillow covers and bed linens have become immensely popular.

 

বিদেশের মাটিতে এই প্রথম বিশ্ববাংলা বিপণি

এই প্রথম দেশের বাইরে চালু হতে চলেছে বিশ্ববাংলা স্টল। এবার বিশ্ববাংলা স্টল জায়গা পাচ্ছে কমিউনিস্ট চিনে।ইতিমধ্যে রাজ্য সরকারের সঙ্গে চিনের একটি মউ চুক্তি স্বাক্ষরও হয়েছে।

আগামী জুলাই মাসের মধ্যেই চিনের মাটিতে বিশ্ববাংলার স্টল তৈরির কাজ শেষ হবে।  চিনের কানমিং চাংশুই আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে তৈরি হচ্ছে বিশ্ববাংলা স্টল।

পুরুলিয়ার মুখোশ কোচবিহারে শীতলপাটি ,ডোকরা, বাংলার মসলিন শাড়ি, কাঁসার বাসন থেকে বর্ধমানের মিহিদানা, সীতাভোগ এবার জায়গা পাবে সুদূর চিনে।  মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বিশ্ববাংলা ব্র্যান্ড এবার সত্যিই পৌঁছচ্ছে বিশ্বের দরবারে।  বাংলার শিল্প সংস্কৃতি থেকে খাদ্য সম্ভার এবার জায়গা করে নেবে কমিউনিস্ট চিনে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উদ্দেশ্য ছিল বিশ্ববাংলা ব্র্যান্ডের মধ্যে দিয়ে রাজ্যের হারিয়ে যেতে বসা হস্তশিল্পকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করা ও এই পণ্যগুলোকে বিশ্বের দরবারে তুলে ধরা। পাশাপাশি এই শিল্পের সঙ্গে জড়িত শিল্পীরাও যাতে উপকৃত হয় সেইদিকেও নজর রাখা।

কলকাতায় দমদম  বিমানবন্দর ,ঢাকুরিয়া ,দক্ষিণাপণে এবং বাগডোগরায় রয়েছে বিশ্ববাংলা স্টল।

Living in Dubai and missing Bengal’s fish? Worry no more. The state is all set to export its fishes to various foreign lands including Dubai, Japan and China. State fisheries department has got an order of around Rs 900 crore to export the species to these countries.

This is for the first time that the fisheries department has taken up such a unique initiative that will not only create a market for Bengal’s fishes in the foreign countries but also help to develop the financial condition of the state’s fishermen.

To meet the ongoing demands of fishers in the international market, the department is setting up processing units with modern facilities at Nalban in Salt Lake and at Henry Island in South 24-Parganas. The fishes that would be exported to the foreign lands will be processed and packed in these units.

The State Fisheries Development Corporation has increased the fish production in the state by a record margin. Pisciculture was being carried out in most of the stated-owned ponds and water bodies.

The department has also chalked out plans on how to engage more unemployed rural youth and women in pisciculture through the formation of various self-help groups in the villages. The state fisheries department has already been distributing fingerlings to people at free of cost.

 

 

দুবাই, জাপান, চীনেও বাংলার মাছ বিক্রির উদ্যোগ রাজ্যের

দুবাইতে থাকেন ও বাংলার মাছ পান না পাতে? আপিনার চিন্তার নিরসন করতে রাজ্য সরকার এবার কোমর বেঁধেছে। বাংলার মাছ দুবাই, জাপান ও চীনে রপ্তানি করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

এই উদ্যোগের ফলে শুধু যে বাংলার মাছ বিদেশের বাজারে পৌঁছে যাবে তাই নয়, রাজ্যের মৎস্যজীবীদের অর্থনৈতিক অবস্থারও উন্নতি ঘটবে।

আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে বেড়ে চলা মাছের চাহিদা মেটানোর উদ্দেশ্যে বিধাননগরের নলবনে ও দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগণার হেনরি আইল্যান্ডে গড়ে উঠছে আধুনিক সুবিধাযুক্ত প্রসেসিং ইউনিট। যেসব মাছ রপ্তানি করা হবে সেইসব মাছকে এখানে প্রসেস করে প্যাকেট বন্দী করা হবে।

রাজ্য মৎস্য দপ্তর ইতিমধ্যেই রেকর্ড মাত্রায় মাছের ফলন বাড়িয়েছে। রাজ্য সরকারের অধীনস্ত প্রায় সব জলাশয়েই মৎস্যচাষ করা হয়। বিভিন্ন স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর মাধ্যমে আরও বেকার যুবক ও মহিলাদের মৎস্যচাষের সঙ্গে যুক্ত করার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে মৎস্য দপ্তর। ইতিমধ্যেই বিনামুল্যে মাছের চারা বণ্টন শুরু করা হয়েছে।

Chinese Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohu on Thursday extended an invitation to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to visit his country for exploring business possibilities in manufacturing and other key sectors of the two countries.

The Ambassador, heading a five-member delegation including Chinese Consul-Genral in Kolkata Ma Zhanwu, called on Banerjee at the state secretariat Nabanna.

“Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to India and the Consul-General of China in Kolkata had a meeting with me at the state secretariat today (Thursday).

“He extended an invitation to us to visit China to explore Bengal-China business possibilities in manufacturing and other key sectors,” Banerjee said in a Facebook post.

Zhaohu and Banerjee had elaborate discussions about the business possibilities in many areas.

 

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সাথে দেখা করলেন চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত

বৃহস্পতিবার নবান্নে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সঙ্গে দেখা করলেন চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত লিও জং হুই। পাঁচ সদস্যের এক চীনা প্রতিনিধি দল এদিন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন। এ রাজ্যে বিনিয়োগ করতে আগ্রহী চীন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তাঁর ফেসবুক পেজে লেখেন, “আজ (বৃহস্পতিবার) নবান্নে চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত লিও জং হুই আমার সঙ্গে দেখা করেন। বাংলা-চীনের বাণিজ্য সম্পর্ক আরও দৃঢ় করার জন্য উনি আমায় চীন সফরে যাওয়ার আমন্ত্রণ জানান”।

বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বিনিয়োগের সম্ভাবনা নিয়ে এদিন বিস্তারিত আলোচনা হয় তাদের মধ্যে।

The Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) will kickstart the carnival of cinema on November 11 this year with the screening of 155 films from 65 countries across 105 screens at 13 venues in the city.

After being upgraded into a festival of masses, not a selected few, by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in 2011, the festival now boasts a competitive section too.

In this edition, in a new initiative, 18 shows of nine films will be screened as part of the ‘Parae Parae Cinema’. An exhibition on Uttam Kumar is also on the cards. Mamata Banerjee wanted KIFF to be a festival for all. That has been the endeavour for all the organisers.

China is the focal country this year. Seven films from China, including ‘American Dreams in China’, ‘Black Coal, Thin Ice’ and ‘Wolf Totem’, have been included in the festival.

Another new section in KIFF would be biopics where seven films on the lives of filmmakers will be shown. Besides large screens, a selection of old classical films will also be shown in theatres across the city.

The government has upgraded the screens at Rabindra Sadan and Nandan-II to 2k projection system, he added. The Bengal government has taken an initiative with actress Jaya Bachchan to restore old films.

 

বাংলার গন্ধ মেখে উঠবে চলচ্চিত্র উ९সবের পর্দা

শুরু হচ্ছে ২২ তম আন্তর্জাতিক কলকাতা চলচ্চিত্র উ९সব। ৬৫ দেশের ১৫৫টি ছবি নিয়ে শুরু হচ্ছে এই চলচ্চিত্র উ९সব। দেখানো হবে ১৩ টি পর্দায়।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের চিন্তার পথ ধরেই এগিয়েছে এই উ९সবের সুর।

এবার চলচ্চিত্র উ९সবের থিম হল ‘সিনেমার সবাই, সবার সিনেমা’। আক্ষরিক অর্থে ২২ তম চলচ্চিত্র উ९সবে যেন বৈচিত্র্যের সমাহার। ১১ নভেম্বর নেতাজি ইনডোর স্টেডিয়ামে উদ্বোধন হবে। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানেও দেখানো হবে বাংলা ছবি।

‘পাড়ায় পাড়ায় সিনেমা’ এর অংশ হিসাবে ৯ টি ছবির ১৮টি শো প্রদর্শিত হবে। উত্তম কুমারের ছবির উপর একটি প্রদর্শনী হবে। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় চান সাধারণ মানুষ থেকে বুদ্ধিজীবী সকলে এই উ९সবে সামিল হোক।

এবছরের উ९সবে চিনকে বিশেষ মর্যাদা দেওয়া হয়েছে। রয়েছে সেই দেশের ৭ টি সিনেমা। অ্যামেরিকান ড্রিমস ইন সিনেমা, ব্ল্যাক কোল, থিন আইসএবং উল্ফ টোটেম দেখানো হবে এই উ९সবে।

চলচ্চিত্র উ९সবের ছবি দেখানো হবে নন্দন–১, নন্দন–২, নন্দন–৩ ছাড়াও শিশির মঞ্চ, রবীন্দ্রসদন, রক্সি, নজরুল তীর্থ, নবীনা, স্টার থিয়েটার, কার্নিভাল সিনেমা, মিত্রা ও সিটি সেন্টার–১ এর আইনক্সে। ইতিমধ্যেই রবীন্দ্র সদন ও নন্দন চত্বর সবুজায়ন কড়া হচ্ছে ও আরও জায়গা বাড়ানো হচ্ছে। উ९সব চলবে ১৮ নভেম্বর পর্যন্ত।‌‌‌‌

The second edition of Ahare Bangla, conceptualised by Mamata Banerjee to render a platform to the agricultural products of the state’s farmers, was inaugurated today at the Milan Mela grounds.

From this year, foreign participation will also start at the food fest, with Bangladesh, China and Russia to be represented by their consulates.

Another innovative idea being launched this year is awards for the best innovative recipe and the most popular recipe, to be decided by a panel of judges.

Thirty renowned restaurateurs, four State Government organisations and 23 sweet shops are scheduled to participate and serve food at the five-day-long culinary extravaganza.

A special zone with seven stalls will be installed to showcase ‘theme food’ during the festival. Traditional Bengali vegetarian recipes (on October 22), colonial effect on Bengali cuisine (October 23), eggs (October 24) and fish (October 25) will be featured as theme foods.

All the four permanent hangars at Milan Mela will be utilised as food courts. One of them will showcase international food while another, named Ahare Biki Kini, will have 28 stalls selling raw food, food ingredients and ready-to-eat food, set up by government or government-promoted organisations.

 

 

শুরু হল ‘আহারে বাংলা’ খাদ্য উৎসব

দুর্গা পুজোর রেশ কাটতে না কাটতেই বাঙালি ফের মেতে উঠবে রসনা তৃপ্তির নতুন উদযাপনে৷ আজ থেকেই পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের উদ্যোগে কলকাতা মিলন মেলায় শুরু হল ‘আহারে বাংলা’ উৎসব৷ এবার রাশিয়া, চিন ও বাংলাদেশও এই উৎসবে অংশগ্রহণ করছে।

২১ থেকে ২৫ অক্টোবর পাঁচ দিন ব্যাপী চলবে এই উৎসব। শহরের ৩০ টি নামী রেস্তরাঁ, ৪টি সরকারী সন্সথা এবং ২৩ টি মিষ্টির দোকান অংশ নেবে এই উৎসবে।

যেখানে বাঙালির বাঙালির ইলিশ, পোস্তো, চিংড়ির পাশেই ঠাঁই পাবে রোস্টেড ডাক, সেজোয়ান চিকেন, তন্দুরি কোয়েলের পসরা৷

একটি বিশেষ জোন তৈরি করা হয়েছে  যেখানে উৎসবের পাশাপাশি তাদের থিম ফুড প্রদর্শন করবে ৭ টি স্টল। ২৮ টি স্টল বসানো হচ্ছে যেখানে কাঁচা জিনিস, খাদ্য উপাদান ইত্যাদি পাওয়া যাবে। সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় রেসিপি গুলিকে বিশেষ পুরস্কার দেওয়া হবে।

রাজ্যের বাজার থেকেই সবজি কিনে বিদেশি মুখরোচক খাবার তৈরি করে বিক্রি করবে বিদেশি স্টলগুলি৷ আজ এই  উৎসবের উদ্বোধন করবেন পঞ্চায়েত মন্ত্রী সুব্রত মুখোপাধ্যায়৷ উপস্থিত থাকবেন পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন দফতরের মন্ত্রী ফিরহাদ হাকিম, দমকল মন্ত্রী শোভন চট্টোপাধ্যায়৷

Bengal Finance and Industry Minister Dr Amit Mitra on Sunday chaired a meeting with a Chinese business delegation at Nabanna.

A Chinese delegation had earlier surveyed the State’s industry infrastructure and had expressed desire to invest in Bengal.

In September 2016, a 21- member business delegation had visited Kolkata. That China is looking at Bengal as an investment destination and the country feels that business environment in the State has improved over time,  was expressed by the chairman of Worldwide Business Culture Exchange Centre, who was from Beijing.

আগেও সেখানকার বণিকসভার প্রতিনিধিরা এসেছিলেন রাজ্যে। রাজ্যের পরিস্থিতি ঘুরে দেখে তারা লগ্নি নিয়ে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেছেন।

এই বছর সেপ্টেম্বর মাসে ২১ জন সদস্যের একটি চীনা ব্যবসায়ী প্রতিনিধিদল কলকাতা সফর করেন। চীনের সঙ্গে রাজ্যের বাণিজ্যিক সম্পর্ক আরও সুদৃঢ় হচ্ছে। উজ্জ্বল হচ্ছে বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে লগ্নির সম্ভাবনা। বিনিয়োগের গন্তব্য স্থল হিসেবে চীন বাংলাকেই বেছে নিয়েছে। ওয়ার্ল্ড ওয়াইড কালচার এক্সচেঞ্জ সেন্টারের চেয়ারম্যান জানান, রাজ্যে এখন বিনিয়োগের ভাল পরিবেশ।

A 21-member Chinese trade delegation on Monday expressed their interest to invest in seven different industrial sectors in the state. The delegation – consisting of chief executive officers, vice-presidents and managing directors of 13 different companies met the local business fraternities on a ‘Business to Business’ gathering to discuss trade and investments in Bengal.

On Monday, Bengal Commerce and Industries Minister Dr Amit Mitra met the Chinese delegates. “They are interested to invest in the sectors of coal machinery and equipments, metallurgy, mining, electrical, chemical productions, pharmaceutical and medical equipments, biological equipments, hydropower and real estate materials,” Dr Mitra said.

The Chinese delegation is interested in manufacturing, infrastructure, real estate and heavy machinery. The scenario of Bengal is business friendly and conducive for investment, the delegation thinks..

The Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao had met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in November 2015, and assured her to send a business delegation to the state.

“Chinese Vice-President had met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and at the time had assured her to send a business delegation. With a focus on investment, the 13 companies from China have come to explore business opportunities in Bengal, whose aggregated turnover is USD 10 billion,” said Dr Mitra, adding that a delegation comprising top bosses of ‘Fortune 500’ companies is set to visit the state in November this year.

Additionally, the Chinese delegation will have discussions with Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) and also visit a manufacturing zone at Burdwan’s Panagarh to get exact knowledge of investment opportunities in the state.

“The Chinese delegation will visit the Matix factory at Panagarh. It will give them genuine knowledge of industrialisation in the state. As the first phase of its Panagarh urea plant is ready for commissioning, Matix Fertilizers plans to invest Rs 6,500 Cr in the second phase of the project,” the State Commerce and Industries minister said.

Dr Mitra said the Chinese companies have also shown their interest in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, which will be given support on behalf of the state government as per the industrial policy. The state has 6,000 acre of land in 23 industrial estates. “The huge trade deficit shows us that we should do more business with China,” Mitra added.

“We have invited the Chinese delegation to attend the Bengal Global Business Summit and I hope they will take a firm decision on investments in the state. Chinese do not take much time. Many countries take time to research, Chinese are not like those. They are always quick to grab the opportunities,” Dr Mitra said.

 

বাংলায় বিনিয়োগে আগ্রহী চিনের প্রতিনিধি দল

গতকাল চিন থেকে ২২ জনের একটি শিল্প প্রতিনিধি দল অমিত মিত্রের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করতে আসেন। বাংলায় শিল্পে বিনিয়োগের আদর্শ পরিবেশ তৈরী হয়েছে মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়ের আমলেই, জানালেন শিল্প বিনিয়োগের সম্ভাবনা খতিয়ে দেখতে আসা চীন প্রতিনিধি দলের নেতৃত্বে থাকা প্রতিনিধিরা।
চিন থেকে আসা প্রতিনিধিরা  জানান যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ক্রমশ উন্নতি করেছে। আগের অবস্থার পরিবর্তন ঘটিয়ে রাজ্য বিনিয়োগের উপযুক্ত হয়ে উঠেছে।  রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন শিল্প সম্ভাবনা খতিয়ে দেখতে এসেছেন তারা।  রাজ্যের শিল্পমন্ত্রী  ডঃ অমিত মিত্র এই সভার প্রতিনিধিত্ব করেন। উপস্থিত ছিলেন অর্থ দফতরের বিভিন্ন আধিকারিকরা। চিন থেকে আসা প্রতিনিধি দলের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সফর নিয়ে উত্সাহী রাজ্যের শিল্পপতি মহল।
ধাতু বিদ্যা, খনিজ সরঞ্জাম এবং উত্পাদন বিষয়ক বিভিন্ন খাতে বিনিয়োগের ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছেন দলটি।বাংলায় শিল্প বিনিয়োগের রূপরেখা তৈরী করতে তুমুল উত্সাহী  চিন। এই প্রতিনিধি দলকে উপযুক্ত জমি দেখতে পানাগড় নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।দুদিন ব্যাপী এই সফরে তাদের চাহিদা অনুযায়ী ল্যান্ড ব্যাংকে থাকা বাকি জমিও দেখানো হবে। ১৩টি শিল্প সংস্থার ১৯ জন প্রতিনিধি এখানে আসেন। এই ১৩টি সংস্থার বার্ষিক আয় ১০০০ কোটি ডলারের বেশি। ফরচুন ৫০০ নথিভুক্ত কয়েকটি চীনা সংস্থাকে নিয়ে আগামী অক্টোবর মাসে এই প্রতিনিধিদল আবার আসবেন। সাংজি এনার্জি গ্রুপের পক্ষ থেকে জলবিদ্যুৎতে বিনিয়োগের আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে।
সিচুয়ান চানকে ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল কোম্পানি লিমিটেডের পক্ষ থেকে রাজ্যের সঙ্গে মৌ সাক্ষরে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। ক্রাউন ইনভেস্টমেন্ট কোম্পানি লিমিটেডের পক্ষ থেকে রিয়েল এস্টেটে স্থানীয় শিল্পপতিদের সঙ্গে চুক্তিতে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে।

The Chinese government has expressed keen interest in enhancing economic activity with West Bengal as the state is both economically and geographically close to China, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday.

The Chief Minister said that the Vice-President also expressed a desire to cooperate with the state government in developing infrastructure in West Bengal.

She was talking to reporters after a meeting with Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao. He led a delegation of Chinese ministers and officials at the venue of the meeting at Eco-Park on the outskirts of the city.

The leaders discussed a range of issues – from increasing economic activity and cultural cooperation to tourism during the 45-minute meeting.

The Chief Minister said that she had also invited the Chinese commerce and investment Minster and the business delegation to attend the upcoming Biswa Bangla Business Summit.

“We also discussed setting up of an auto hub here..we will be jointly manufacturing buses. We also discussed enhancing cultural ties between China and Bengal,” she said adding a tourism package for Chinese tourists during Dura Puja had been proposed in the meeting.

Mr Li Yuanchao for his part said that the meeting was fruitful.
