Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee today addressed two public meetings at Sitalkuchi and Tufanganj, both in Cooch Behar district.

I begin by paying my respects to candidate Paresh Chandra Adhikari, blessed by our leader Mamata Banerjee, and all the leaders present here, and to all of you who have come he to attend the meeting.

Vote for Paresh Adhikari, but remember that you are actually voting for Mamata Banerjee and her positive politics.

This meeting was arranged at short notice and hence, want to thank you the more for filling this venue up to the brim.

I am very happy to see the cheerful faces all around, and this proves that only Trinamool Congress has organisational capacity in Cooch Behar; others don’t even have a fraction that capacity.

People who were once small-time bike-borne intruders now go around with the BJP’s CISF force threatening people.

The rejects of the Trinamool are now the jewels of the BJP.

And the less said about the CPI(M) and the Congress, the better.

I am requesting all of you to vote for the ‘Jora Phool’ symbol on April 11.

Across the country I’ve heard the refrain, ‘Deshi ka netri kaisi ho/Mamata Banerjee jaisi ho’.

We have fought the BJP for five years, both inside and outside the Parliament.

The source of our power is you, the people – without you there would have been no ‘poriborton’, and without you, she would not have been able to make the call for throwing the BJP out of power

Narendra Modi is coming to Siliguri today. He comes here only before elections, never otherwise, same with Surya Mishra, Somen Mitra and Dilip Ghosh.

We in the Trinamool Congress know that we have the support of the mothers and daughters here, and any party which has woman power in its support is sure to win.

We promise to bring development in Cooch Behar three times that what was done in the last five years.

Mamata Banerjee’s workers stay by your side all year round while the prime minister and his party people come here once a year, like ‘shyama poka’ before Kali Puja and Diwali.

We have to take the vow here to ensure that the candidates who nothing but fakes in saffron garb, lose so badly in the general elections that they lose even their deposits.

We help you in every way possible – be it for helping solve any major family problem or calling the fire brigade or ensuring you get your due widow pension or retirement pension or Kanyashree or Yuvashree stipend or Rupashree grant or Gatidhara or Samabyathi or Baitarani grant or Gitanjali or Nijo Bhumi Nijo Griha.

Mamata Banerjee helps people by doing developmental work irrespective of colour, caste, creed or religion.

The 2019 election is an extremely crucial election because in 2014 the prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi had shown us a grand dream, had said that two crore people would get jobs every year, that every person will get Rs 15 lakh in their account.

But the reality is that nobody has received even 15 paise, on the other hand, we have seen the BJP building a seven-start party office in Delhi by spending Rs 1,200 crore.

Our chief minister though has kept her words – university in the name of Panchanan Barma, medical and engineering colleges, roads, piped drinking water, ITSs, polytechnics, schools, madrasahs.

The prime minister of the country had earlier said that he was a tea-seller, but our chief minister still lives in a small, tile-roofed house and governs the 10 crore people of the State from there, and ensures that the wave of development reaches every one of them.

Now he’s calling himself a chowkidar. I say, the country does not need a chowkidar like him – a chowkidar under whose watch Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Vijay Mallya and Mehul Choksi escaped from the country after looting thousands of crores of people’s money.

They haven’t been able to scare us to submission.

Netaji had said, give me your bloods and I’ll give you freedom; now Mamata Banerjee is saying, ensure for me 42 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats, and I’ll ensure a secular, forward-looking, peace-loving government at the Centre.

Eighty years ago, a Bengali leader (Netaji) had said ‘Dilli Chalo’, now 80 years later another Bengali leader (Mamata Banerjee) is saying ‘Dilli Chalo’. We must all heed her call.

Our prime minister has not done anything for the people here – why is he so callously uncaring for the people of the Chhitmahals? Why hasn’t the Centre taken any decision on the airport in Cooch Behar?

Mamata Banerjee has come here again and again, she has visited your houses even more than the local panchayat members.

No other chief minister has held administrative meetings the way Mamata Banerjee has done.

The BJP is picking up our garbage and putting them on pedestals; given ticket to a criminal here.

The people of Cooch Behar has realised that ‘chowkidar is a chor’, letting people like Nirav Modi escape while sucking his thumb.

We have to drive Modi out of the country.

Drive the BJP away – Modi is the ‘shani’’, Amit Shah the ‘rahu’’ and leaders like Dilip Ghosh and others, the ‘ketus’.

Cooking gas, kerosene, petrol all have gone up. GST has caused much loss to businesses.

The more the BJP has lost the more the prices have come down, GST has come down.

Now they have GST on biscuits we eat everyday at the rate of 18% and on gold biscuits which only the super-rich buy, at 3%.

They had thought about dividing the people of Bangla. Now they’ve realised that chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ has become useless.

Mamata Banerjee has never played with religion like the BJP has. Don’t teach us about religion.

What Mamata Banerjee has done for the Hindus, nobody else has; she has also done much for Muslims, for Sikhs, for Christians, for Jews. We have never played the politics of division.

Members of the BJP are indulging in corruption, so much so that only for them has ‘Achhe Din’ come. The wealth of Jay Shah, son of Amit Shah, has increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 80 crore in a short span of time.

Narendra Modi had said that he would fight against corruption. But what do we see? He has made the candidate for Cooch Behar such a person who has 11 criminal cases against him. There can be nothing worse than this.

Mamata Banerjee is our ideal, our guiding light, and we have always walked the path shown by her. We had vowed to fight against the BJP, Congress and CPI(M), and we have kept our word.

On May 23 the BJP will realise that all the support for ‘Padma Phool’ has been converted into support for ‘Jora Phool’.

After May 23, the BJP would be wiped out of power.

Trinamool Chairperson and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today teared into the BJP at party’s organisational polls. Slamming the ruling party at Centre she said that It is the need of the hour for all regional parties to come together for the sake of the nation. Didi said, my message to all regional parties is ‘Be Together, Be United’.

She said, “Trinamool is targeted because we speak for the common people. How many leaders will you put in jails? I dare you to arrest all our MPs, Ministers, MLAs. They are carrying out malicious propaganda. Wherever I go, London, Puri or Delhi, they send workers to disrupt.”

The Chairperson added, “Who are you to decide what a person can eat or wear? Trinamool works for people of all castes, creed, religions. I believe I am a worker of the party. In Trinamool, workers and not leaders are the biggest assets.”

BJP is dividing people based on religious identities. We respect all religions but humanism is our biggest identity. They (BJP) have destroyed the democratic culture of the country with their vindictive politics and vendetta,” Didi said.

Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the BJP for indulging in divisive politics. She said, “Religion means peace and harmony. But BJP gave arms to children during their rally. BJP only believes in conspiracies not rule of law.

I am proud of my religion. I am proud of all religions. Hinduism means tolerance. BJP is defaming Hinduism. Riots cannot be religion. Religion unites people, does not divide them. Be proud of the land you are born in. This is our motherland. We are proud of it.”

She told party workers that the next two years as a challenge. “We have to fight against the malicious propaganda and conspiracies. They are bringing cadres from other States to incite trouble in Bengal. We have to be very careful,” Didi added.

She also took on the BJP for their malicious propaganda on social media. “BJP spends crores on social media. They put fake photos and distort my words. We have to counter them. They post photos and videos of Bangladesh and say it is Bengal. They are spreading rumours.”

She also reiterated that Trinamool will continue to fight for the people. “As a political party we have a responsibility. We have to fight valiantly. We will not tolerate politics of vindictiveness. India is a vast country with a lot of diversity. We will not allow politics of ‘Divide & Rule’. Let us stand for unity,” was her message.

She slammed the BJP for destroying the federal structure of the country. She maintained the voice of the press-media has been muzzled by the Centre.

আজ তৃণমূলের সাংগঠনিক নির্বাচনের অনুষ্ঠানমঞ্চ থেকে আরও একবার বিজেপির বিরুদ্ধে তোপ দাগলেন তৃণমূলের সভানেত্রী ও বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এদিন তিনি বলেন দেশের স্বার্থে আঞ্চলিক দলগুলির একজোট হওয়া প্রয়োজন। সব সব আঞ্চলিক দলগুলির প্রতি দিদির বার্তা ” এক হও, একজোট হও”।

তিনি বলেন, “তৃণমূলকে বারবার টার্গেট করা হয় কারণ তারা সাধারণ মানুষের হয়ে কথা বলে। কত জন নেতাদের ওরা জেলে পাঠাবে? ওদের সাহস থাকলে আমাদের সব সাংসদ, বিধায়ক, নেতা মন্ত্রীদের গ্রেফতার করুক”।

সভানেত্রী আরও বলেন, “মানুষ কি খাবে, কি পরবে সেটা ওরা ঠিক করার কে? তৃণমূল সব ধর্মের, সব জাতির মানুষের জন্য কাজ করে। আমি মনে করি আমি দলের একজন কর্মী। নেতারা নয়, তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের কর্মীরাই দলের বড় সম্পদ”।

বিভাজনের রাজনীতি করার জন্য এদিন বিজেপির উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, “ধর্ম মানে শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতি। অথচ বিজেপির মিছিলে ছোট শিশুদের হাতে অস্ত্র তুলে দিচ্ছে। মানুষের মধ্যে বিভেদ সৃষ্টি করছে বিজেপি। আমরা সব ধর্মকে শ্রদ্ধা করি কিন্তু মানবিকতাই আমাদের প্রধান পরিচয়। কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচার করে ওরা দেশের গণতন্ত্র ও সংস্কৃতিকে ধ্বংস করে দিচ্ছে।

বিজেপি শুধু চক্রান্ত ও ষড়যন্ত্র করে। ওরা দেশের যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় কাঠামো ধ্বংস করছে। প্রেস মিডিয়া ওদের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলছে না, ওদের কণ্ঠ রোধ করে দিয়েছে।

আমি আমার ধর্মের জন্য গর্বিত। হিন্দুধর্ম মানে সহনশীলতা। বিজেপি হিন্দুধর্মকে অপমান করছে। দাঙ্গা কখনো ধর্ম হতে পারে না। ধর্ম মানুষকে জোরে, ভাগ করে না।

আপনি যে মাটিতে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছেন সেই দেশের জন্য গর্বিত হোন। এটা আমাদের মাতৃভূমি”।

দলীয় কর্মীদের উদ্দেশ্যে তিনি বলেন, “ওদের কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচার ও চক্রান্তের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের রুখে দাঁড়াতে হবে। অন্য রাজ্য থেকে লোক নিয়ে এসে ওরা বাংলায় সমস্যার সৃষ্টি করছে। আমাদের আরও সতর্ক হতে হবে। সোশ্যাল মিডিয়াতে কোটি কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে বিজেপি। জাল ফটো দেয় আর আমার কথাকে বিকৃত করে। ওদের মোকাবিলা করতে হবে। বাংলাদেশের ফটো, ভিডিও পোস্ট করে তা বাংলার বলে চালায়। গুজব ছড়াচ্ছে ওরা, ওতে কান দেবেন না”।

তাঁর বার্তা, “রাজনৈতিক দল হিসেবে আমাদের কিছু দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্য আছে। সাহসিকতার সঙ্গে আমাদের এই লড়াই চালিয়ে যেতে হবে। প্রতিহিংসাপরায়ণ রাজনীতি আমরা বরদাস্ত করব না ভারত বৈচিত্র্যময় দেশ। আমরা কাউকে বিভাজনের রাজনীতি করতে দেব না। আসুন আমরা এক হই”।

Trinamool Congress strongly condemns the bounty placed by BJP Youth leader on Mamata Banerjee’s head.

Statement by Partha Chatterjee:

There have been many attempts on Mamata Banerjee’s life since the 1990s. We have seen the violent politics of the 70s, we have been through 34 years of CPI(M)’s violent rule. Anyone can make big statements sitting in Delhi. Statements like these are against the political culture of the country. I ask the Centre to immediately arrest this man. Lakhs of Trinamool workers are ready to sacrifice their lives for Mamata Banerjee. We do not want the politics of 70s to return.

 

Statement by Saugata Roy in Lok Sabha:

Yesterday there was a lathicharge on BJP workers in Birbhum district in West Bengal on the issue of Hanuman Jayanti. Lathicharge was done by the police. After that a BJP youth leader has issued a statement that he would give Rs 11 lakh to anybody who would present him Mamata Banerjee’s head.

Madam, I do not want to raise temperatures further. But, this issue is condemnable because Mamata Banerjee is not only the elected Chief Minister of Bengal and a former Member of this House, she is also one who has come up from the ranks from the grassroots.

So, I take this opportunity to bring this matter to your notice and that of the House and I would ask the government to take all possible actions against such men who create such provocation, especially threatening the beheading of a popular Chief Minister.

Statement by Sukhendu Sekhar Roy in Rajya Sabha:

One activist of the ruling party at the Centre in West Bengal has publicly described the Hon. Chief Minister of West Bengal as “demon” and has also announced a reward for those who will bring the head of the Hon. Chief Minister, of Rs 11 lakh.

I urge upon all the honourable Members of this House to request the government to condemn this incident because it appears from this fact that the ruling party at the Centre is trying to unleash a reign of terror in West Bengal in the name of religion and other things.

This should be stopped; otherwise the entire country will be engulfed in such tendencies, which would a danger for our parliamentary democracy. I urge upon the government to condemn this incident.

A constitutionally elected Chief Minister has been called a “demon” and an award has been announced for her head. How can it be done by a ruling party activist? This should be condemned and I urge upon the ruling party to condemn the incident.

This is a case of political patronage.

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে বিজেপি যুব নেতার ফতোয়ার তীব্র নিন্দা করল তৃণমূল।

পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়ের বিবৃতি:

৯০ এর দশক থেকে মমতাকে হত্যার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছিল। আমরা ৭০ এর রাজনীতি দেখেছি। ৩৪ বছরের বাম শাসন দেখেছি। এখন দিল্লী/আলীগড়ে বসে কেউ কেউ বড় বড় বুলি আওড়াচ্ছেন। রাজনীতি এইসব কথা বলার জায়গা না। একে অবিলম্বে গ্রেফতার করা উচিত।

আমি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারকে বলবো অবিলম্বে পদক্ষেপ নেওয়ার জন্য। আমাদের লাখ লাখ কর্মী তৈরি মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে সাহায্য করার জন্য। এরা আবার ৭০ দশকের রাজনীতি ফিরিয়ে আনতে চাইছে।

 

লোকসভায় সৌগত রায়ের বিবৃতি:

হনুমান জয়ন্তী উপলক্ষে বীরভূম জেলায় বিজেপি কর্মীদের ওপর গতকাল লাঠিচার্জ করে পুলিশ। এরপর বিজেপির এক যুবনেতা বিবৃতি দিয়েছেন, যে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের মাথা কেটে আনবে তাকে তিনি ১১ লাখ টাকা দেবেন।

ম্যাডাম, আমি আর উত্তেজনা ছড়াতে চাই না। কিন্তু, এই ঘটনাটি নিন্দনীয়। কারণ, মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় শুধু রাজ্যের নির্বাচিত মুখ্যমন্ত্রী নন, তিনি সংসদের প্রাক্তন সদস্যা, সমাজের তৃণমূল স্তর থেকে উঠে আসা এক নেত্রী।

এই ঘটনাটি আমি এই সভার নজরে আনলাম। আমি সরকারকে বলব, এই ধরনের মানুষ যারা এই রকম উস্কানিমুলক কথা বলে, তাদের বিরুদ্ধে প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যাবস্থা নিতে। বিশেষত যখন এরা মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর শিরোচ্ছেদের হুমকি দিচ্ছে।

 

রাজ্যসভায় সুখেন্দু শেখর রায়ের বিবৃতি:

দেশের শাসক দলের এক কর্মকর্তা এক বিবৃতি দিয়েছেন; তাতে তিনি মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে “শয়তান” বলেন, ও বলেন, যে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের মাথা কেটে আনবে তাকে তিনি ১১ লাখ টাকা দেবেন।

আমি সংসদের সকল সদস্যের কাছে আর্জি জানাব তারা যেন সরকারের কাছে দাবি করেন এই ঘটনার নিন্দা করতে। এই ঘটনার মাধ্যমে বোঝা যায় কেন্দ্রের শাসক দল পশ্চিমবঙ্গে ধর্মের নামে দাঙ্গার পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি তৈরি করতে চাইছে।

এই প্রবণতা এখনই দমন করা উচিত, নয়ত দেশজুড়ে এই প্রবণতা দেখা যাবে। এটা  সংসদীয় গণতন্ত্রের পরিপন্থী। আমি সরকারকে আর্জি জানাচ্ছি এই ঘটনার নিন্দা করতে।

একজন নির্বাচিত মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে “শয়তান” বলা হচ্ছে ও তার শিরোচ্ছেদ করার জন্য পুরষ্কার ঘোষণা হচ্ছে। এক শাসক দলের কর্মকর্তা কি করে এই কাজ করে? এটা নিন্দনীয় ও সরকারকে আর্জি জানাব ধিক্কার জানাতে।

Bengal Chief Minister on Thursday Mamata Banerjee hit out at the BJP for brandishing swords during Ram Navami procession.

At a public rally in Purulia, the CM said: “It is not the culture of the Hindus to carry swords in religious processions and some BJP leaders and workers were found carrying swords and other weapons in the Ram Navami procession on Wednesday. The law will take its course as carrying weapons in Hindu religious processions is illegal. What will happen if people belonging to other religions want to carry weapons in processions,”

She added, “As BJP is in power at the Centre, its followers in the state feel that they can do whatever they like. But this will not be tolerated and law will take its own course as no one is above law,” Mamata Banerjee said the way BJP had carried out Ram Navami procession it appeared as if they had some sort of monopoly over Lord Rama. “For generations, Rama Navami has been observed in Ramrajatala in Howrah and I observed Basanta Puja before I left my home in Kolkata,” the Chief Minister said.

Didi said, “The weapons look good in the hands of Goddess Durga as she used them to kill evil. But, they do not look good and proper in the hands of those who are using religion to divide people.” She added: “Lord Rama had used flowers to worship and his so called followers are using weapons to scare people.”

The CM said people in Bengal believed in the philosophy of love and cooperation. “If I meet with an accident and two men run to the blood bank to donate blood for me then will the doctor ask them which religion they belong to,” she asked. She said the people would foil any effort to divide Bengal on the basis of religion. She asked people not to get provoked by those who “use religion for political benefit.”

 

অস্ত্রের হুঙ্কার বাংলার সংস্কৃতি নয়: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

পুরুলিয়ায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি বিজেপিকে তীব্র আক্রমণ করলেন। বুধবার বাংলার বিভিন্ন জায়গায় অস্ত্র নিয়ে যে সব মিছিল করা হয়েছে সে সম্পর্কে মমতা বলেন, ‘‌এবার থেকে রাজনৈতিক নেতারা অস্ত্র নিয়ে মিছিল করলে, আইন আইনের মতো ব্যবস্থা নেবে। তরোয়াল দেখিয়ে মিছিল করা চলবে না। রাম রাবণ বধ করেছিলেন তরোয়াল দিয়ে নয়। রাম পুজো করেছিলেন ফুল দিয়ে।’‌

মমতা বলেন, ‘‌এরা ধমকাতে এবং চমকাতে মিছিল করেছেন। আমাদের ভদ্রতার সুযোগ নিয়েছেন। কাল যদি অন্য ধর্মের মানুষ তরোয়াল নিয়ে মিছিল করেন তখন কী হবে?‌ দুজনের মধ্যে তো তখন মারামারি লেগে যাবে। ঘরে ঘরে আগুন লাগবে। শিখদের সঙ্গে কৃপাণ, সেটা আমরা বহুকাল ধরে দেখে এসেছি। তঁাদের কখনও এভাবে রাস্তায় দেখিনি। ওটা তো ওঁদের ধর্মের একটা প্রতীক। মা দুর্গার হাতে যে অস্ত্র শোভা পায়, আজ যে নেতারা রাস্তায় সন্ত্রাস করতে নেমেছেন, তাঁদের হাতে অস্ত্র শোভা পায় না।’‌

মমতা আক্রমণ করেন সিপিএম, বিজেপি ও কংগ্রেস–‌কে। তিনি বলেন, ‘‌এরা কিন্তু একে অপরের কোলে বসে দুলছে। সিপিএম, বিজেপি বাংলা থেকে শেষ হয়ে যাবে। ভবিষ্যতে বিজেপিও ভারত থেকে নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যাবে। গেরুয়া ফেট্টি পরে দলের সংগঠন বাড়ানো যায় না। বাংলার সংস্কৃতিকে আগে চিনতে হবে। বাংলার মানুষ এদের ক্ষমা করবে না।’‌ মমতা বলেন, আমার বাড়িতেও রামনবমীর দিন পুজো হয়েছে। কোথাও আমি আমার বাড়ির পুজোর কথা তো বলিনি। লোকের বাড়িতে বাড়িতে অন্নপূর্ণা পুজো হয়েছে। রামনবমীর দিন বিজেপি কোনও পুজো করল না। গেরুয়া ফেট্টি লাগিয়ে স্লোগান দিল, চিৎকার করল। মিছিল করে বলল, আমরা কারা— দাঙ্গা করি। আমরা কারা—ভেদাভেদ করি।’‌

মমতা রামকৃষ্ণ ও বিবেকানন্দের প্রসঙ্গ আনেন। তিনি বলেন, ‘‌এরা যখন বাংলার সংস্কৃতি শিখিয়েছেন, তখন বিজেপি কোথায় ছিল?‌ তখন তো ওদের দলটাই ছিল না। আমরা কেউ কখনই বলি না যে, আমরাই একমাত্র পুজো করি। এটা আমাদের ধর্ম নয়। আমি হিন্দু ধর্ম নিয়ে গর্ববোধ করি। শুধু তাই নয়, শিখ, মুসলিম, খ্রিস্টান, বৌদ্ধ সমস্ত ধর্ম নিয়ে আমি গর্ববোধ করি। আমি যেমন দুর্গাপুজোর উদ্বোধনে যাই, ঠিক তেমনি বড়দিনে গির্জায় যাই, ইদে যাই। এটাই তো বাংলার সংস্কৃতি। রামকৃষ্ণ, বিবেকানন্দ শিখিয়েছেন সকলকে ভালবাসতে হয়। সব ধর্মকে সম্মান করতে।’‌

Coming down heavily on the BJP, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday slammed the party for “appropriating festivals” and accused it of insulting the ‘Om’ symbol by using it in political rallies.

“Do not hold Ram Navami programme claiming the festival to be your exclusive thing. Do not try to incite unrest. For thousands of years, various religious organisations have been carrying on Ram Navami rallies,” she said at a public rally in Bankura.

“A party is planting flags and placing ‘Om’ symbols. You can sit at home and chant ‘Om’. How can they (BJP) use religious symbols in political rally? In UP, they (BJP) talk of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and in Bengal they play divisive politics.. they want to divide the Hindus-Muslims… the Sikhs-Christians, she added.

“One day if the Banerjees say that they have no relation with Chatterjees… if the tribals will say we will not live with Hindus… so on and so forth…. what will happen? Everything will shatter to pieces. The country will not remain united,” she said, adding Basanti Puja was always celebrated in Bengal.

ধর্মের নাম ভেদাভেদের রাজনীতিকে উস্কানি দেওয়ার অভিযোগে বিজেপিকে কড়া আক্রমণ করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বুধবার বাঁকুড়ায় একটি জনসভায় তিনি বলেন:

• ভারতে ৩৩ কোটি দেব-দেবী রয়েছে। কেউ রামের পুজো করে, আবার কেউ রহিমের।
• আগেও বাংলায় বাসন্তী পূজো ছিল। নবমীর দিন রামনবমী পালন করা হতো। একে নিজেদের (বিজেপি) প্রোগ্রাম বলে চালাবেন না। এর সঙ্গে বিজেপি-র কোনও সম্পর্ক নেই।
• কোনও কাজ নেই, বিজেপি শুধু ধর্মীয় সুড়সুড়ি দিচ্ছে। পার্টির মিটিং-এ ধর্মের কথা বলছে। এখন বিজেপি উৎসব-ধর্মীয় অনুষ্ঠান নিয়েও রাজনীতি করছে।
• পার্টির পতাকায় ‘ওঁ’ লিখে দিচ্ছে। ধর্মগুরুরা ‘ওঁ’ লেখে। পলিটিক্যাল পার্টির পতাকায় ‘ওঁ’ লিখছে। কী ভাবে ধর্মীয় প্রতীক রাজনৈতিক মিছিলে ব্যবহার করছে? তাহ লে প্রতীক পরিবর্তন করে নিন।
• উত্তরপ্রদেশে বলছে ‘সবকা সাথ সবকা বিকাশ’। বলছে মুসলমানদের ভোট পেয়েছে। আর এখানে এসে হিন্দু-মুসলমান ভাগ করছে।
• সিপিএম-এর মন্ত্রে চলছে বিজেপি। এরা দিনে সিপিএম, রাতে বিজেপি। দিনে বিজেপি, রাতে সিপিএম। আসলে সিপিএম-এর কোলে বিজেপি দোলে।
• আমরা যেমন ঈদ পালন করি, তেমনই ক্রিসমাসও পালন করি। আমার বাড়িতে গত ৪০ বছর ধরে কালী পুজো হয়ে আসছে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday demanded a probe into the alleged tampering of EVMs in the recently-concluded assembly elections.

“You can’t win elections every time by hijacking EVMs. I didn’t contest but had I done so, I would have counted from one to ten. Those who had contested the elections, should have demanded a probe,” she said.

“I think there should be a probe. Even the ones that were used in the polls, they should be subjected to a sample survey,” Mamata Banerjee said at a public rally in Kharagpur.

The Trinamool Congress Chairperson also slammed the central government’s decision to lower the interest rate in small savings scheme by 0.1 percent. “This is why chit funds flourish. There are no chit funds in our regime. One day CPI-M, Congress and BJP will have to answer for them,” she said.

সোমবার খড়্গপুরের এক জনসভায় ইভিএম কারচুপির অভিযোগের তদন্ত চাইলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

“ইভিএম কারচুপি করে সব সময় জিততে পারবে না বিজেপি। আমি (উত্তরপ্রদেশ বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে) লড়িনি। যারা লড়েছে তাদের আগেই তদন্ত চাওয়া উচিত ছিল,” তিনি বলেন।

“আমার মনে হয় তদন্ত হয় উচিত,” বলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

এদিন, স্বল্প সঞ্চয় প্রকল্পর সুদের হার কমিয়ে দেওয়ায় কেন্দ্রকে আক্রমণ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি বলেন এর ফলে চিট ফান্ড বাড়বে। “আমাদের সময় কোনও চিট ফান্ড তৈরী হয়নি। সিপিএম, বিজেপি, কংগ্রেসকে মানুষের কাছে জবাব দিতে হবে,” বলেন তিনি।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today strongly condemned the politics of riots and communal violence at a public meeting in Kharagpur. She said that Bengal will never tolerate politics of hate.

“I believe in equality of all religions. Just like I participate in Durga Puja, I participate in Eid and Christmas also. I was born in a Hindu family. I do not need lectures in Hinduism from people who use religion for politics,” she said.

She also said that she will pray to Maa Durga to teach a lesson to the Ravans who are harassing people. She said a mother never discriminates between her children.

Referring to rumours of a ban on Mangal Aaroti at Dakkhineshwar temple, the CM said: “One Union Minister posted on FB that we have banned Mangal Aaroti at Dakkhineshwar. How can an Union Minister spread misleading information? What country are we living in? I pray to Maa Bhabotarini to give them (BJP) some good sense. We never indulge in politics over Maa Kali.”

She asked people to always cross-check the information you see on social media. “Do not believe in rumours,” the CM advised.

প্রতিহিংসার রাজনীতি ও সাম্প্রদায়িক দাঙ্গার বিরুদ্ধে আজ আরও একবার সরব হলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। খড়গপুরের একটি জনসভায় তিনি বলেন বাংলা কোন রকম হিংসার রাজনীতি বরদাস্ত করবে না।  

“আমি বিশ্বাস করি সব ধর্ম এক। আমি যেমন দুর্গা পুজোয় যাই, তেমনই ঈদ ও ক্রিসমাসেও অংশগ্রহণ করি। আমি হিন্দু পরিবারে জন্মেছি। যারা ধর্ম নিয়ে রাজনীতি করে তাদের কাছে আমি হিন্দু ধর্মের পাঠ চাইনা”, বলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

তিনি বলেন তিনি মা দুর্গার কাছে প্রার্থনা করেন, যে সব রাবণ মানুষকে হয়রান করছে তাদের যেন তিনি শিক্ষা দেন।

দক্ষিণেশ্বরে মা কালীর আরতি বন্ধ হওয়ার গুজব প্রসঙ্গে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলে, “একজন কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী গুজব রটিয়েছেন আমরা নাকি দক্ষিণেশ্বরে মঙ্গল আরতি বন্ধ করে দিয়েছি।  একজন কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী কিভাবে এরকম গুজব রটাতে পারেন? আমরা এ কোন দেশে বাস করছি? মা ভবতারিণী ওদের সুমতি দিন। মা কালী কে নিয়ে আমরা রাজনীতি করি না”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “সোশ্যাল মিডিয়াতে কোনো খবর পড়লে আগে যাচাই করে নেবেন। গুজবে কান দেবেন না”।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that a political vendetta campaign had been taken up against the Trinamool Congress by the BJP government at the Centre. “What they (the Centre) are doing is political pollution. It is political vendetta. They are scaring people with the CBI,” the Chief Minister added.

She advised business leaders to form groups and protest against any political vendetta by the Centre. “Do not be scared of the CBI so much. You pay your taxes. So why are you scared so much? You should make groups and protest against such threats,” she said.

She assured that she would be always with the businessmen. “I am always with you. But you should work for the betterment of society. Companies need to do welfare work under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme,” the Chief Minister said.

Speaking on development, she referred to the Metro rail construction works in the city. “I can remember that I received criticism while allocating money for those Metro rail projects. Now the work is underway.  After completion of the project, these tracks will solve the transport problems in the city,” she observed.

The Chief Minister invited the industrialists to invest in manufacturing sector. She also informed that Bengal has achieved 6 per cent growth in infrastructure development. “We have Rs 40,000 crore debt on us. But the state government has been able to provide rice for Rs 2 per kg, we treat people free of cost in government-run hospitals, we have set up 307 paediatrics units in hospitals, you can find ICCU, mother and child care hub. You can find a milk bank at SSKM hospital,” the Chief Minister noted.

“Recently, we introduced laws on clinical establishments as well as a law against ransacking of property. Everybody should remember that there are two laws. Both the parties have to be cautious about their approach,” she concluded.

ভয় না পেয়ে একজোট হোন। শিল্পপতিদের এই আহ্বান জানালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন, কিছু বললেই সিবিআই, আয়কর চলে আসবে। আমার সঙ্গে কথা বললেও আপনাদের বিপদ হতে পারে। প্রয়োজনে রাস্তায় নামুন। শিল্পোদ্যোগীদের বিভিন্ন সংগঠন রয়েছে। একজন আক্রান্ত হলে অন্যরা পাশে দাঁড়াবেন না কেন? একজন আঘাত পেলে ৫০ জন পাশে দাঁড়ান। প্রয়োজনে রাস্তায় নামুন। মহিলাদের উদ্দেশ্যে তিনি বলেন, শুধু লেডিজ স্টাডি গ্রুপ করলে হবে না। পথে নামতে হবে। বাড়ির মহিলাদের আন্দোলনের পথে নামান। আপনাদের চিন্তা কীসের? আপনারা তো নিয়ম মেনে কাজ করেন। রাজ্য সরকার যা সাহায্য করার তা তো করবেই।

শুক্রবার বেহালা চৌরাস্তার কাছে এস এল ধানুকা গার্লস হস্টেলের উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যা নার্জি। তিনি বলেন, নির্বাচিত সরকারকে ১০টা বাধা পেরিয়ে কাজ করতে হচ্ছে। কখনও সবুজ, কখনও হলুদ বেঞ্চ, কখনও রায়, আবার কখনও সংস্থা, এটা, সেটার বাধা আসছে। এদিন নাম না করে কেন্ত্রীয় সরকারকে আক্রমণ করেন। তিনি শিল্পপতিদের বলেন, নোটবন্দীর ফলে ৩ মাস দুঃসময় গেছে। মানুষকে ঘা, গুঁতো খেতে হয়েছে। শিল্পের ক্ষতি হয়েছে। আপনারাও তা জানেন। তবে কিছু বললেই সিবিআই, আয়কর বিভাগ চলে আসবে। প্রতিবাদ করায় তৃণমূলের বিরুদ্ধে সিবিআই, আয়কর বিভাগ নেমে পড়েছে। দলের একাংশকে জেলে পাঠালে আর এক অংশ তৈরি বলে জানান তিনি। বলেন, ভয় পাই না। কেউ একটা কিছু ভাঙলে এক লক্ষ গড়ি। যে কাজ ভাল না, তা সকলের বর্জন করা উচিত। সরকার কোনও নীতি গ্রহণ করতেই পারে। তবে সবার সঙ্গে কথা বলে, বুঝিয়ে।

রাজ্যের স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবা আরও ভাল করতে আইন আনার কাজ করেছি। তাদের কাজে নাক গলাতে চাইনি। মঞ্চ থেকে ঘোষণা করা হয় ধানুকা ধানসেরি গোষ্ঠী মহিলাদের জন্য নিউ টাউনে তাদের তৃতীয় হস্টেল তৈরি করবে। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়, পরিবেশমন্ত্রী, কলকাতার মহানাগরিক শোভন চ্যাটার্জি, শিল্পোদ্যোগী সি কে ধানুকা, ভারতী ধানুকা।

বিজেপির তোলা বিভাজনের রাজনীতির অভিযোগের বিরুদ্ধে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, ৪০ লক্ষ ছাত্রী ‘কন্যাশ্রী’ প্রকল্পের আওতায়। ৩৫ লক্ষ ছাত্রছাত্রী সাইকেল পেয়েছে । রাজ্যের ৮ কোটি মানুষ ২ টাকা কেজি চাল পান। কোনও তারতম্য নেই। রাজ্য সরকারের প্রকল্পের সুবিধা সবাই পায়। অনেকে মিথ্যে বলেন, কুৎসা করেন। এটা কোনও ‘সলিউশন’ নয়, ‘পলিটিক্যাল পলিউশন’।

তিনি বলেন, সরকারের কাজে দল হস্তক্ষেপ করে না। এ জন্য গর্বিত । তিনি জানান, রাজ্যে বিনিয়োগের জন্য পোল্যান্ড, জার্মানি , চীন, রাশিয়া আগ্রহ দেখিয়েছে। উৎপাদন শিল্প যাতে আরও বাড়ে দেখতে হবে। আস্তে আস্তে আরও শিল্প হোক। শুধু কংক্রিটের শিল্পই শিল্প নয়। একটার জায়গায় ২০টি শিল্প হোক। তিনি জানান, রেলমন্ত্রী থাকার সময় যে প্রকল্প ঘোষণা করে ছিলেন তা শেষ হবেই। বছর দুয়েকের মধ্যে মেট্রো প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাবে।

The country-wide protests of Trinamool Congress against the political vendetta of the Centre and the arbitrary decision of the Narendra Modi Government to demonetise high-value bank notes started today, with party MLAs and senior leaders demonstrating outside the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the CGO Complex in Salt Lake. The protests would continue for the next three days.

Mamata Banerjee has been carrying out her fight against demonetisation that has claimed more than 110 lives and that has has led to a huge loss for the entire country.

The demonstrations started from 9 am and will continue till 6 pm on all the three days at both the RBI and the CGO complex.

At the same time, protest marches would also take place in other States.

 

 

আজ থেকে দেশজুড়ে তিনদিনব্যাপী প্রতিবাদ কর্মসূচি তৃণমূলের

রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসার বিরুদ্ধে এবং কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে দেশ জুড়ে তৃণমূলের প্রতিবাদ অব্যাহত। আজ থেকে আন্দোলনের রূপরেখা নিয়ে আরও একবার পপ্তহে নামছে তৃণমূল। আজ থেকে শুরু হয়ে তিনদিন ব্যাপী চলবে এই প্রতিবাদ কর্মসূচি।

নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের লড়াই চলবে। নোট বাতিলের ফলে ১১১ জনেরও বেশি নিরীহ মানুষ প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন। আজ একদিকে কলকাতার রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্কের অফিসের সামনে ধরনা ও বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচি করবে বিধায়ক ও মন্ত্রীরা।অন্যদিকে সল্টলেকের সিজিও কমপ্লেক্সে সিবিআইয়ের দফতরের সামনে প্রতিবাদে সামিল হবেন দলের অন্য নেতারা।

রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্ক ও সিজিও কমপ্লেক্সে এই কর্মসূচি শুরু হবে সকাল ৯ টায় এবং চলবে সন্ধ্যে ৬ টা পর্যন্ত।

একইসঙ্গে ভিন রাজ্যেও চলবে প্রতিবাদ সভা।

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee expressed solidarity with tribals in Jharkhand against forceful acquisition of land from tribals by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Jharkhand government.

She said on Friday: “Around 1500 acres of land were forcefully acquired from tribals in Jharkhand and given to someone as it had happened in Singur.”

“They sought our support to build protest against such forceful acquisition of land and a team comprising the state Agriculture Minister Purnendu Basu and MLAs including Srikanto Mahato and Sadhyarani Tudu will go to Jharkhand to speak to the land losers. They will file a report after visiting the place and then I will visit the place,” the Chief Minister added.

She further said: “I would visit all the BJP-led states (to raise voice against the on-going dictatorship going on in the country).”

It may be mentioned that Banerjee had already given a call for demonstration against the use of different agencies by the Centre for political purpose. There will be demonstrations across Bengal and other States on January 9, 10 and 11.

ঝাড়খণ্ডের আদিবাসীদের পাশে মমতা

ঝাড়খণ্ডের জমি আন্দোলনে আদিবাসীদের পাশে আছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি। ওখানকার পরিস্থিতি খতিয়ে দেখতে শনিবার ৩ জনকে পাঠাচ্ছেন তিনি। তাঁরা হলেন কৃষিমন্ত্রী পূর্ণেন্দু বসু, শান্তিরাম মাহাতো, সন্ধ্যা টুডু এবং শ্রীকান্ত মাহাতো। তাঁরা ফিরে এসে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে ঘটনার রিপোর্ট দেবেন। তারপর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ঝাড়খণ্ডে যাবেন।

এদিন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সাংবাদিকদের বললেন, ‘‌বিজেপি বলেছে আমাকে মারবে। রিপোর্ট পাওয়ার পর আমি ওদের রাজ্যে যাব। ঝাড়খণ্ডে দেড় হাজার একর জমি নিয়ে আদিবাসীরা লড়াই শুরু করেছে। ৯,‌ ১০, ‌১১ জানুয়ারি তৃণমূলের ধর্না আছে।’‌‌‌
